ASUS to Launch New Vivobook, Zenbook & V16 Laptops with Intel Core Ultra on Feb 13

ASUS has announced the launch of three new laptops in India on February 13 at 12 PM. The ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip, ASUS Zenbook 14, and ASUS V16 will come with dedicated AI chips, ASUS AI applications, and AI-enhanced gaming features.

These laptops, part of the Copilot+PC lineup, will be powered by Intel Core Ultra 9 processors (Series 2), offering up to 47 TOPS NPU performance and up to 12 cores/threads. The laptops feature ASUS Lumina OLED displays with up to 3K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits peak brightness. For gaming, the ASUS V16 laptop will include an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU.

While details on other models are currently unavailable, the ASUS V16 is likely the model that the brand unveiled back in December 2024. We can expect the laptop to feature a 16-inch FHD IPS display offering a 144Hz refresh rate, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and a 16:10 aspect ratio, along with a military-grade durable chassis. Under the hood, we can expect it to come with either an Intel Core i5-13420H or an Intel Core i7-13620H processor. The processor will be paired with 8GB or 16GB 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU.

This follows the recent launch of the ROG Phone 9 FE smartphone and the Zenfone 12 Ultra. The ROG Phone 9 FE has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, paired with a 5,500mAh battery and 65W wired (15W wireless) charging. On the other hand, the Zenfone 12 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chip, paired with an identical battery and fast charging, along with an IP68 rating.

South Korea
South Korea has prohibited its use on government employees’ devices across multiple ministries and state-run agencies due to security and privacy concerns. Several government agencies, including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, have blocked AI services like DeepSeek, while the country’s Personal Information Protection Commission is investigating how DeepSeek manages user data.

Italy
Italy has also taken steps to restrict DeepSeek, particularly regarding the processing of Italian users’ data. The Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) imposed restrictions and requested details on DeepSeek’s data policies, citing a lack of transparency in data handling. 

Taiwan
Taiwan has banned DeepSeek from all government departments, citing national security risks, and has blocked it from all government networks.

United States is considering a ban

The United States has not yet banned DeepSeek but is considering restricting its use. NASA has already blocked DeepSeek from its systems, and the U.S. Navy has warned personnel against using the AI service. Additionally, U.S. lawmakers are drafting a bill to ban DeepSeek on government-owned devices due to security concerns.

According to its privacy policy, DeepSeek collects personal information such as email, phone number, password, and date of birth. Global shortage of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card – wait time extends to 4 months

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has become one of the hardest-to-find graphics cards, with a global shortage affecting availability. Many customers are facing long waiting times, with some delays stretching up to 16 weeks.

Overclockers UK (OCUK) confirmed that all RTX 50 series graphics cards sold out within hours of release. Due to overwhelming demand, the retailer has temporarily halted pre-orders. Customers who have not received shipping confirmation are being placed in a pre-order queue.

Estimated availability and price surge

The RTX 5090 is expected to be available within 3 to 16 weeks, while the RTX 5080 may arrive sooner, with an estimated wait time of 2 to 6 weeks. However, supply remains uncertain.

Scalpers are taking advantage of the shortage, selling RTX 50 series cards at two to three times their retail price on platforms like eBay. The RTX 5090, which has an MSRP of $1,999, is being resold for $2,300 to $2,600. The RTX 5080, originally priced at $999, is now selling for $1,100 to $1,300.

The shortage is partly due to Nvidia’s reliance on TSMC’s wafer production, which is also used for Blackwell accelerators. This competition for manufacturing capacity has further limited the supply of RTX 50 series GPUs.

Retailer Measures and Stock Rumors

In Japan, retailers are using a lottery system to allow customers to purchase the RTX 5090 or 5080. Reports indicate that some retailers had no RTX 5090 stock at all on launch day. Others, like MSI, will not ship the RTX 5090 until February 6.

Industry experts suggest that RTX 5090 stock will remain tight until at least March 2025, while RTX 5080 availability could improve sooner. Meanwhile, AMD’s RX 9070 is expected to launch in March 2025, possibly as a competitor.

For now, consumers are advised to hold onto their existing graphics cards. Supply remains tight, and prices are much higher than expected due to scalping.

However, the certification suggests that the new headphones could debut in Finland, with a possible rollout to other regions, including India. Given Nothing’s track record, the wireless headphones are likely to adopt the brand’s signature transparent aesthetic, though this remains speculative until official details emerge.

Nothing’s current audio lineup includes TWS earbuds and neckband products under both the Nothing and CMF brands. While the addition of wireless headphones would mark a new sub-category for the company, it aligns with its strategy to diversify its audio offerings.

Apple hasn’t launched a new SE model since it launched the iPhone SE back in 2022. According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the current iPhone SE has been discontinued due to USB-C regulations in the EU. Therefore, the arrival of the iPhone SE (2025)’s arrival seems imminent. The report claims that the device will go on sale as early as next week. Here’s a look at the five major changes that are expected to arrive on the iPhone SE 4.

1. iPhone 14-like design

The iPhone SE 4 will arrive with the most radical change to the design as compared to previous generations. The report reiterates iPhone SE 4 leaks that have claimed that it will inherit iPhone 14’s design.

This means that the iPhone SE 4 will have a notched display like the iPhone 14, offering a large screen space of around 6.1 inches with the bottom bezel axed. As far as the rear design is concerned, the iPhone SE 4 will continue to sport a single camera with a single LED flash alongside it.

2. Face ID support

The iPhone SE 4 will be the first SE model to come with support for Face ID. This means that the device will not have a Touch ID sensor. The reason is the new design, which adds a notch to house the complex Face ID sensor. The bottom bezel is gone, and so is the Home button which housed the Touch ID sensor on the previous generation.

3. Apple AI

Apple introduced Apple Intelligence with the iPhone 16 series. Running on iOS 18, the iPhone SE 4 will be the most affordable iPhone to offer access to Apple AI. During the Q1 2025 earnings call, Qualcomm revealed this milestone. While the 10% figure may look impressive, it’s important to note that it applies specifically to high-end Windows PCs. This is a niche segment.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chips are designed for always-on, always-connected PCs and they have been gaining attention for their combination of raw performance and efficiency.

Qualcomm has also announced an octa-core Snapdragon X chip that will bring the entry price for these devices down to around $600. Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra: 4 Things You Need To Know

Asus recently took wraps off the Zenfone 12 Ultra. The device succeeds the Zenfone 11 Ultra.

Though the product is called ‘Ultra,’ it is not accompanied by ‘standard’ and ‘pro’ models. It is a loner handset like its predecessor.

Again, like its forerunner, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is a non-gaming version of the current-gen ROG Phone. This means it is more or less the same as the ROG Phone 9 Pro.

The core specs are identical on the two. The two only differ in terms of look and feel.

The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra has a versatile triple camera system on the rear. All three modules offer different focal lengths (wide, ultrawide, and telephoto).

The primary camera is a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor. It is paired with a 13MP 120° FOV ultrawide unit and a 3x 32MP telephoto shooter.

On the front, the handset sports a 32MP RGBW sensor for selfies and video calls.

4. Poor Software Support

The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra ships with Android 15. It also comes with several AI features for productivity, communication, and camera.

However, unlike the competition, Asus guarantees only 2 major Android updates. This is unacceptable for a smartphone that starts at €1,100.

Oppo Find N5’s crease is barely visible

Oppo has been teasing its upcoming foldable for quite a while and has revealed many aspects of the device ahead of the launch event. The latest one is about the crease on the inner display.

Pete Lau, the chief product officer (CPO) at Oppo, has shared two images on his official X account, comparing the crease of the Oppo Find N5 with one of its competitors. The difference in the crease, well, you can see for yourself.

The crease is almost nonexistent

Thanks to Samsung for changing the corner radius last year, we can confirm it’s the brand’s latest foldable – the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Of course, Oppo hasn’t been able to completely get rid of the crease yet – upon closer inspection, you can still see it. But here, the Oppo exec had a point: it’s almost nonexistent in comparison. Other than that, the aspect ratio and the front camera placement look very similar to the Oppo Find N3.

The company previously revealed the side profile emphasizing its slick form factor. According to a previous report, the phone is only 4.8mm thick. It is impressive to see Oppo having figured out how to fold the display within such a small area without leaving a crease. This achievement is likely due to a redesigned hinge mechanism.

Matter of fact, a recent rumor claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s crease is “almost gone“. Considering the fact that we have only seen minimal improvements in this aspect from the Z Fold models so far, and the Fold 7 is expected to be based on the hinge mechanism of the already released Z Fold SE, we cannot expect too much yet. That said, the crease could be one of the advantages the Find N5 will have over its biggest competitor.

Realme P3 Pro spotted on Geekbench with early performance results

Realme P3 Pro is confirmed to launch in India on February 18th. After the Realme P3, the Pro model has also made its appearance on Geekbench. Both phones run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip and also appear to be tuned similarly.

The base model appeared in the platform with a single and multi-core score of 1110 and 3136 respectively. Now the Pro model has surfaced with only slightly higher scores: 1196 and 3309 in the single and multi-core tests.

Although the performance numbers here are the same, as previously reported, the base model uses an underclocked chip. All the mid cores and the prime core have slightly lower clock speeds on the base model. So, technically, the Pro model could outperform the standard one in raw performance in certain use cases like gaming.

P3 Pro vs P3 CPU clock speeds

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip is built on TSMC’s 4nm process, and it also powers the Realme 14 Pro+ launched a few days ago and will power the upcoming Nothing Phone 3a. So you can expect similar raw performance to those devices if you are comparing.

As revealed by the listing, the Pro model also comes with 12GB RAM, and Android 15 out-of-the-box similar to the base model.

According to previous reports, the P3 Pro will come with something branded as the “GT Boots technology” co-developed with KRAFTON, which likely improves the BGMI gameplay experience. It may include features such as AI Ultra-Steady Frames, Hyper Response Engine, AI Ultra Touch Control, and AI Motion Control.

Power of Galaxy S25 Ultra showcased in Call of Duty tournament

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently one of the most capable mainstream Android flagships on the market, thanks to the ‘For Galaxy’ tuned Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It also packs a 40% larger and redesigned heat sink for better sustained performance.
