Kirin 9100 chip revealed to use a 6nm node and Cortex-X1 core

Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 70 series smartphones later this month, likely powered by the new Kirin 9100 chip. Although we don’t know much about this SoC, a Telegram user named @spektykles may have leaked some key information about it. 

Notebookcheck recently discovered a Telegram post featuring a screenshot from the Device Info HW app, likely taken from an upcoming Mate 70 series device. This screenshot appears to reveal the official specifications of the Kirin 9100 chip.

The chip is shown to have codenamed HiSilicon Baltimore and features an 8-core CPU setup. It includes a single high-performance Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.67 GHz, likely for handling demanding tasks, along with three Cortex-A78 cores at 2.32 GHz for a balance of power and efficiency in daily use. Completing the CPU are four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.02 GHz.

However, due to ongoing US sanctions against Huawei, the Kirin 9100 is restricted to cores based on the older Arm v8 architecture. In contrast, competing chips like MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 utilize the latest Arm v9 cores.

The leak also suggests that the Kirin 9100 will rely on Huawei’s in-house Maleoon 910 GPU, likely carried over from the Kirin 9010. Although this GPU isn’t the most advanced, it should still deliver solid performance for everyday tasks and casual gaming.

Moreover, the report mentions that the production of the Kirin 9100 will reportedly utilize SMIC’s N+3 node, a 6nm process. Though this doesn’t match the previously rumored 5nm fabrication, it should offer slightly better efficiency than the 7nm process used for the Kirin 9000S in the Mate 60.

The performance of Kirin 9100 is expected to fall between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8+ Gen 1. While there are no specific benchmarks to confirm this, an earlier leak suggested an approximate AnTuTu score of around 1.1 million.

Honor is gearing up to launch the new Honor 300 series in China soon. The Honor 200 arrived in India following its Chinese release earlier this year. And now, a fresh certification sighting hints that the successor might be right around the corner.

These were listed alongside the HN-200500C07, HN-200500C08, and HN-200500C09 charging adapter model numbers, which confirm support for at least 100W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, the exact moniker of the Honor 300 series phones is still unclear and the 3C certification does not reveal any other key details like specifications or design.

To recall, the Honor 200 lineup was also unveiled in four variants. This included the Honor 200, Honor 200 Pro, Honor 200 Lite, and Honor 200 Smart. So we can expect an Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro, Honor 300 Lite, and Honor 300 Smart as well this time around. Back in August 2024, the Honor 300 Pro model had its render leaked showcasing a unique back design. The rear had an oddly elongated camera module, while the front featured a curved edge display.

The X9c is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4 nm) chipset and boasts a large 6,600mAh battery—an 800mAh increase from its predecessor, the X9b. Marketed as Honor’s toughest phone, the X9c includes numerous durability features, such as improved drop and scratch resistance, making it an appealing option for users prioritizing resilience alongside capable specifications.

Notably, this is higher than some of the other Snapdragon 8 Elite powered smartphones like the Realme GT 7 Pro (3011 single core and 9143 multi core points).

But the most impressive feat of the Red Magic 10 Ultra is that it managed to outperform the Apple M2, which scored 2,599 and 10,089 points respectively. The higher performance is likely thanks to improved cooling on the Red Magic 10 Ultra. This new smartphone packs a dedicated cooling fan that brings a noticeable difference in performance. The air cooling helps the phone sustain performance under load, so mobile gaming enthusiasts may have a better gaming experience.

Vivo seems set to launch the S20 series in China soon, as devices from the lineup have started appearing on certification sites. A new leak has now revealed a possible launch timeframe along with some key specs for the Vivo S20 line.

Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu reports that the Vivo S20 series may debut by the end of this month. The series will likely go head-to-head with the Oppo Reno 13 series, which is also expected to launch in November.

On Oct. 14, Vivo announced the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro Mini in China. These debuted as the world’s first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9400 SoC. The X200 and X200 Pro have received multiple certifications in other countries, indicating the X200 series’ global launch is close at hand. Now, both devices have also received approval from Thailand’s NBTC certification platform.

Thus far, Europe’s ECC, Malaysia’s SIRIM, and Indonesia’s TKDN and SDPPI certification platforms have certified the global versions of the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro, bearing the model numbers V2415 and V2413, respectively. Taiwan’s NCC platform has also approved the Pro model.

The above images show that both devices have received certification from Bluetooth SIG, India’s BIS authority, and Thailand’s NBTC platform. These certifications are a positive hint the X200 series will debut soon in the global market. Unfortunately, the X200 Pro Mini hasn’t received any global certification, indicating that the compact phone may remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

Last month, 91mobiles reported that Vivo India will announce the X200 and X200 Pro in India by the end of November or early December. This indicates that Vivo India may start teasing the arrival of the X200 series in the coming days.

The Vivo X200 and X200 Pro will be the first Vivo phones to come preinstalled with Android 15. Now, the same device has received approval from the TENAA authority, revealing all its key specifications. Rumors surrounding the device claim that it could be called the Oppo A5 Pro when it hits the Chinese market.

As per the TENAA listing, the Oppo A5 Pro (PKP110) phone measures 161.5 x 74.85 x 7.67mm and weighs 186 grams. The device appears to feature a curved-edge AMOLED panel. The screen measures 6.7 inches, supports FHD+ resolution, and features an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Most likely, it may also offer up to 120Hz refresh rate. 

A 2.5GHz processor powers the alleged A5 Pro, according to the TENAA listing. Probably, it could be equipped with the Dimensity 7300 SoC. The device will ship in 8 GB and 12 GB RAM variants. When it comes to storage, it will offer options such as 256 GB and 512 GB.

The rated value of the A5 Pro’s battery is 5,840mAh, which suggests that its typical size could be 6,000mAh. At present, there is no information available about the fast-charging capabilities of the phone. It remains to be seen whether the device will come pre-installed with the latest ColorOS 15-based Android 15.

For selfies, the A5 Pro features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The round camera module on the back has a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary lens. While it is not mentioned in the TENAA listing, the device may offer IP69-level dust and water resistance like the Oppo A3 Pro, which was announced in April of this year.

For those eagerly awaiting the launch, there’s good news. A new leak has revealed the exact launch date of Android 16. The leak comes from the reliable source Android Headlines, so it’s likely to be accurate.

According to the report, Android 16 will launch on June 3, 2025. Apparently, on this date, Google will not only release the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) but will also begin rolling out Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for compatible Pixel devices.

The reasoning behind the expedited launch, as Google previously explained, is to ensure more smartphones ship pre-loaded with Android 16. This strategy will likely benefit the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup, expected to launch next August. 

It’s still unclear how Google has sped up the release timeline by 2 to 3 months, but it’s certainly good news for users. An earlier release means Pixel devices will get new OS features sooner, and the early AOSP launch will allow other smartphone makers to release their Android 16-based updates sooner as well.

Of course, it’s important to remember that this is just a rumor, albeit a compelling one. We’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Google to confirm the exact date. On Nov. 13, Nubia will unveil the Red Magic 10 series of gaming phones in China. As per reports, the lineup will comprise of two phones, namely, the Red Magic 10 Pro and Red Magic 10 Pro Plus. There have been reports of the existence of an Ultra model with a 7-inch+ screen. However, recent reports indicate that the Ultra model does not exist, and the 7-inch+ display model is the Red Magic 10 Pro Plus phone.  Today, Nubia revealed the screen specifications of what appears to be the Red Magic 10 Pro handset. Here is a look at the details confirmed by the brand.

The Red Magic 10 Pro features a 6.85-inch BOE OLED screen with no punch-hole, meaning it is equipped with an under-display camera. The screen has the narrowest black borders at 1.25mm and a bezel thickness of just 0.7mm, resulting in an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 95.3 percent.

It is the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera to offer an impressive 1.5K resolution of 2688 x 1216 pixels. The display supports a 144Hz refresh rate and achieves a peak brightness of 2000 nits.

The Red Magic 10 Pro series offers a larger R-corner design for a more unified and harmonious look with the middle frame. This model promises to provide an immersive viewing experience. Details about Oppo’s Reno 13 series have been gaining traction over the past few days. The lineup is expected to feature two models, the Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro, and may launch in China on November 25.

New information about the top-tier Reno 13 Pro has surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, thanks to tipster Digital Chat Station. Although the tipster hasn’t named the device directly, the leaked specs suggest it’s likely the Reno 13 Pro.

According to Digital Chat Station, the device will run on a yet-to-be-released Dimensity 8350 processor from MediaTek. While earlier rumors pointed to a Dimensity 9300, the new leak suggests otherwise.

If true, this would be a step down from the Reno 12 Pro-Chinese model, which uses a Dimensity 9200+ processor. For memory, DCS suggests the top configuration will offer 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Rather than focusing on the processor, Oppo seems to be prioritizing other aspects of the phone this time. The device will feature a larger quad-curved display than its predecessor, measuring 6.83 inches.

The camera setup will likely stay the same as its predecessor’s. It will feature a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, 50MP telephoto sensor on the rear, and a 50MP selfie camera on the front.
