The current trend of integrating AI into smartphones started off with basic features such as text summarization, which is now heading towards the next level. South Korean publication ETNews suggests that Samsung is working on an AI-powered system that will replace the ‘Settings’ app on Galaxy devices (at least smartphones) altogether.
The system will predict what users want in advance by analyzing the interactions in real time. Then it can assist the user in quickly making the changes without entering the app.
While it sounds a bit futuristic, nearly all smartphone makers have been moving in this direction over the past few years. For instance, the camera opts for a completely different type of image processing when it sees a document instead of a landscape or a person. On-device AI recognizes the type of content you’re trying to capture and makes changes for you.
There are already several implementations of AI across different apps and UI skins that aim to make life easier for you. Speaking of Samsung, they are aiming to enhance the user experience even further with a much deeper integration of AI in its OneUI skin, and the latest development is in line with its core strategy.
Samsung Bixby
It’s been a long time since smartphones have shipped with AI-powered voice assistants, however, the functionality is still limited. The smart assistants can only assist in relatively simpler tasks (such as setting an alarm) and lack key controls of the device. Will the latest development offer a much improved AI system that can process more complex tasks on its own? Well, only time will tell.
Some of the existing AI features in Galaxy devices
Samsung’s Galaxy AI already offers several helpful features including easier photo editing, interacting with people who speak a different language, and much more. The company’s improved “ProVisual Engine” assists the camera hardware in delivering clearer and more stable photos, even in low-light conditions.
On the other hand, the company’s AI-powered Note Assist feature has made note-taking and accessing information easier than ever.
While these AI-based features save time, they are still limited to certain apps or areas of the UI. However, Samsung’s ongoing development could improve its accessibility, offering a significant leap in the overall user experience.
Foldable phones have evolved significantly, transitioning from a novelty to a serious contender in the smartphone market. With a growing array of brands and models available, choosing the right foldable phone can be daunting. Are you looking forward purchasing a new foldable phone? Here are seven key features to consider before making your purchase.
Foldable phones come in two main styles: horizontally folding (book-style) and vertically folding (clamshell-style). Horizontally folding phones, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the OnePlus Open, provide a tablet-like experience when unfolded, making them ideal for multitasking and media consumption. Conversely, vertically folding phones, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Motorola Razr 50f, are more compact and pocket-friendly, prioritizing portability. Choose the form factor that best suits your needs and lifestyle.
2. Display Quality
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
The folding display is the heart of any foldable phone. Look for a screen that offers high resolution and pixel density to ensure sharp text and images, particularly important on a larger unfolded screen. Having a bright screen is crucial for outdoor visibility, and while the crease is inherent to current folding technology, aim for a phone where it is less noticeable and does not disrupt the viewing experience.
3. Hinge Mechanism
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
The hinge is a critical component that impacts durability and usability. Consider a hinge that opens and closes smoothly without any wobble or resistance, ensuring stability during use. Durability is paramount, so look for a hinge designed to withstand repeated folding and unfolding. It should allow users to open/close the device at different angles. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers the “Flex Mode” feature, which allows you to use the phone at various angles, similar to a mini laptop, enhancing versatility.
4. Software Optimization
OnePlus Open Canvas mode
Software plays a crucial role in the foldable experience. Look for a phone with app continuity, ensuring apps seamlessly transition between the folded and unfolded states. Multitasking features, such as split-screen mode and drag-and-drop functionality, should be optimized for the larger unfolded screen. OnePlus Open’s Canvas Mode is the best when it comes to multi-tasking, as it allows users to open up to three full-screen apps on a single screen. Having a flagship chip onboard along with optimized software will ensure a buttery smooth experience.
5. Camera System
Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Lunar White Limited Edition
Camera quality is another vital consideration. Look for a phone with a versatile camera system that includes multiple lenses—wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto—to cover various shooting scenarios. To name a few, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and the OnePlus Open offer an impressive camera setup.
Check for image quality features like optical image stabilization, excellent low-light performance, and high-resolution sensors. Additionally, some foldables offer unique camera features, such as using the cover screen as a viewfinder for selfies, which enhances your photography experience.
6. Battery Life
OnePlus Open
Foldable phones typically have larger batteries to support their expansive displays, but battery life can still be a concern. Look for a device with high battery capacity, as a larger mAh rating generally translates to longer usage time. While fast charging support is beneficial for quickly topping up the battery when needed, the phone’s processor and software should optimize for power efficiency to minimize battery drain.
In this area, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro shines thanks to its 5,750mAh battery, the largest on a foldable phone. It also supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Even the OnePlus Open’s 4,805mAh battery with 67W fast charging support offers an impressive battery life.
7. Durability and After-Sales Support
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Given that foldable phones are an investment, durability is crucial. Look for water and dust resistance, ideally with an IP rating (e.g., IPX8) for protection against the elements. Additionally, check for a durable screen protector, as foldable screens can be more susceptible to scratches. Finally, consider the warranty and after-sales support offered; a satisfactory warranty and reliable service can provide peace of mind.
By carefully considering these seven key features, you can make an informed decision and choose the foldable phone that best fits your needs and preferences. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect even more innovative and exciting foldable phones in the future.
This October is a very busy month for smartphone brands in China. Vivo has just launched the Vivo X200 series of smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset. On Oct. 24, Oppo will unveil the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones. The Honor Magic 7 series is all set to break cover on Oct. 30. The Xiaomi 15 series, the OnePlus 13, and iQOO 13 are also expected to launch in the last week of this month. Now, Realme has officially revealed that its GT7 Pro will debut this month.
Realme GT 7 Pro to feature top-notch chip, periscope camera
As per the above Weibo post by Realme China President Xu Qi Chase, the Realme GT 7 Pro is touted as the new dual-engine flagship, emphasizing a powerful combination of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip (Snapdragon 8 Elite), which is based on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology, and a periscope telephoto lens. This configuration allows users to enjoy high performance and impressive camera capabilities without compromise, living up to the GT name. In addition, the brand also released an image of the phone’s retail box.
Previous reports have revealed that the Realme GT 7 Pro features a custom Samsung 1.5K resolution display that supports a full DC dimming solution. It will also incorporate advanced eye care technology to further enhance visual comfort. It will be Realme’s first phone to feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Reports have also revealed that the GT 7 Pro will have a square camera module housing a triple camera setup. It is expected to include an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel LYT-700 primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
In terms of battery life, the GT 7 Pro will pack a mammoth 6,500mAh silicon battery that supports 120W fast charging. This new battery technology not only increases capacity but also reduces the overall thickness of the device, making it more portable than previous models. It will run on Android 15 and Realme UI 6. Lastly, it is also expected to feature an IP69-rated chassis.
Nothing started a community project earlier this year aiming for a Nothing Phone (2a) co-designed with its community members. The project is now complete and a special edition – called Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition – will be launched on the 30th of this month. That said, let’s take a look at what’s different.
The Community Edition differs from the original Phone (2a) mainly in four aspects: appearance, packaging box, new wallpapers, and marketing campaign.
The biggest difference lies in the back design of the phone. It utilizes Phosphorescence for a glow-in-the-dark design, which is pretty unique for smartphones to say the least.
Custom wallpapers are also a part of the special edition device, which reportedly combines hand-drawn elements and a variety of tools for sketching, digitalizing, AI generating, and post-editing to create a unique, layered, and rich process. The final result matches Nothing’s design language while offering a new look to the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition.
The packaging box also comes with a new design matching the new color of the phone. Aside from the color, the redesigned packaging box only showcases a single camera lens instead of two, which, according to the company, is also an interesting visual change.
The internal hardware of the Community Edition device, however, remains the same. For those unfamiliar, here’s a recap of the specifications of Nothing Phone (2a).
Nothing Phone (2a) specifications:
On the front, the phone packs a 6.7″ FHD+ AMOLED display that reaches 700 nits manually, 1100 nits in bright daylight, and 1300 nits during HDR playback. While it isn’t the best of what the price tag can offer, it’s more than enough for all the different conditions.
The phone runs on the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro (4 nm) chip, packs a 5000 mAh battery, and supports 45W fast charging.
In terms of cameras, the phone packs two 50MP sensors on the back – a 1/1.56″ main sensor (with OIS), and a 1/2.76″ ultrawide. On the front, there is a 32MP shooter for selfies.

Realme has recently launched two compelling mid-range smartphones in the Indian market, the Realme P1 Speed 5G and the Realme P2 Pro 5G, both catering to users who demand high performance, sleek designs, and advanced features.
While these two smartphones belong to the same series, they target slightly different segments and preferences within the mid-range market. This article explores the key differences between the Realme P1 Speed and the Realme P2 Pro, focusing on display, performance, camera capabilities, battery, and pricing.
Both Realme P1 Speed and P2 Pro feature high-quality AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising vibrant colors and smooth visuals for a better gaming and multimedia experience. However, the P2 Pro takes it a step further with a larger 6.7-inch Full HD+ curved AMOLED screen, whereas the P1 Speed offers a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display.
The curved edges on the P2 Pro provide an immersive viewing experience with ultra-narrow bezels, which gives it a more premium feel compared to the P1 Speed’s flat design. However, curved displays are more susceptible to damage, and for gamers, flat screens are often preferred for easier maneuverability.
In terms of design, the Realme P2 Pro introduces a unique Crystal Deco and BioVision Design that responds to lighting conditions, creating a sophisticated aesthetic.
The Realme P1 Speed, on the other hand, sports the Victory Speed Design, which has a sleek, minimalist look. Both models are designed to be slim and lightweight, with the P1 Speed measuring 7.6mm in thickness and weighing 185g, while the P2 Pro is slightly thicker at 8.21mm but lighter at 180g. Both phones offer IP65 dust and water resistance, adding durability to their sleek designs.
2. Performance and Cooling
Performance is where the Realme P1 Speed and P2 Pro begin to diverge. The Realme P1 Speed is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy SoC, a capable chipset designed to handle casual to heavy gaming and daily tasks easily. The P2 Pro, on the other hand, comes equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is known for its balanced performance but falls short in terms of the raw power of Dimensity 7300 Energy.
Both devices are optimized for gaming, featuring advanced cooling systems to prevent overheating during intensive sessions. The P1 Speed has a 9-layer cooling system with a 6050mm² stainless steel vapor cooling area, while the P2 Pro comes with a 4500mm² vapor chamber cooling combined with a 9953mm² graphite layer. However, the P1 Speed holds a gaming advantage thanks to its powerful chipset, and Realme claims it can sustain a consistent 90 fps gaming experience right up until the battery is fully depleted.
3. Camera Features
Coming to the optics, the Realme P2 Pro stands out with its camera configuration. The P2 Pro boasts a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera, promising enhanced photo quality, particularly in low-light conditions.
Realme also includes various AI-powered features on the P2 Pro, such as AI Ultra Clarity and AI Smart Removal, which help improve image resolution and quality, making it a compelling choice for users who want to experiment with mobile photography.
The Realme P1 Speed also features a 50MP primary sensor with AI features and a 2MP portrait camera for a simpler setup. It comes with a 16MP front camera that is suitable for everyday selfies. The absence of an ultra-wide sensor on the P1 Speed may also be a deciding factor for users interested in capturing more dynamic shots.
4. Battery and Charging
The Realme P1 Speed houses a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, enabling it to reach 50% charge in just 30 minutes. The P2 Pro, however, has a slightly larger 5200mAh battery and offers faster 80W SuperVOOC charging.
This ultra-fast charging feature allows the P2 Pro to reach 50% in 19 minutes and fully charge in just 49 minutes, which can be a huge convenience for those who are always on the go.
5. Software and Updates
Both smartphones run on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0, offering a consistent user experience with Realme’s latest software features. Realme has committed to providing at least two Android OS updates and three years of security patches for the P2 Pro, making it a more future-proof option compared to the P1 Speed, which may not receive as extensive support.
6. Pricing and Availability
The Realme P1 Speed is positioned as a more affordable option, with prices starting at Rs. 17,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, which drops to Rs. 15,999 with discounts. The higher-end 12GB + 256GB variant is available at Rs. 20,999, or Rs. 18,999 with offers.
In contrast, the Realme P2 Pro starts at Rs. 21,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, with the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB models priced at Rs. 24,999 and Rs. 27,999, respectively.
7. Final Thoughts
Realme P1 Speed and P2 Pro are both strong contenders in the mid-range market, but they cater to slightly different audiences. The Realme P1 Speed provides a solid experience with a balanced feature set, a lower price, and an emphasis on gaming performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.
The Realme P2 Pro, on the other hand, offers superior camera quality, a larger curved display, faster charging, and more extensive software support, making it the better choice for users who want a more premium experience.

As concerns about climate change and environmental sustainability continue to grow, people are searching for cleaner ways to get around and commute. One innovative option is the Wide Wheel Pro electric scooter, offering a smart alternative to conventional cars. This scooter is not only energy-efficient but also reduces the carbon emissions typically associated with daily transportation. Let’s explore how this compact vehicle can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Wide Wheel Pro – A Smart and Sustainable Ride
The Wide Wheel Pro is built for both eco-conscious users and those seeking high performance. Its dual 500W motors give it the power to hit speeds of up to 26 mph, making it ideal for quick commutes or leisurely rides. The scooter’s 48V 15Ah battery provides a range of up to 30 miles on a single charge, helping users cover significant distances without the need for frequent recharges.
One of the key features is its wide, foam-filled tires that offer excellent grip and stability, even on uneven roads. These durable tires combined with dual suspension ensure a smooth and comfortable ride. At 54 pounds, the Wide Wheel Pro is relatively lightweight for its power and performance, making it easy to carry and store, especially for city dwellers.
A Step Toward Reducing Emissions
Transportation is one of the biggest contributors to individual carbon footprints, with traditional cars being the major culprits. The average gasoline-powered vehicle emits a substantial amount of CO2 for every mile driven. Over time, this adds up to a significant environmental impact, especially for those who rely on cars for daily commutes.
Switching to an electric scooter like the Wide Wheel Pro can dramatically lower this impact. Scooters produce no emissions while in use, and their energy consumption is minimal compared to the gasoline burned by cars. While a typical car emits about 0.36 kg of CO2 per mile, electric scooters offer a nearly zero-emission alternative, making them an ideal option for short trips and city commutes.
Traditional Cars vs. Electric Scooters The environmental toll of gas-powered vehicles is hard to ignore. On average, a gasoline car releases several tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually, contributing to air pollution and climate change. Electric scooters, on the other hand, offer a much more sustainable mode of transportation, requiring far less energy to operate.
The Wide Wheel Pro, specifically, is a more eco-friendly choice because it consumes very little electricity. Additionally, its production and maintenance have a smaller environmental footprint compared to traditional cars. Scooters require fewer raw materials to build, and their lightweight design and durable components mean they have a longer lifespan with lower maintenance needs.
Real-World Benefits: Case Studies
Studies and reviews have shown the tangible benefits of switching to electric scooters. Research conducted by University College London (UCL) highlighted how cities that promote e-scooter use could see a dramatic reduction in carbon emissions. In Bristol, for example, a shift from car trips to e-scooter rides led to a noticeable drop in vehicle emissions and traffic congestion.
Reviews from experts also underline the Wide Wheel Pro’s performance and environmental advantages. Micah Toll, an expert in electric transportation, noted how the scooter’s long battery life and energy efficiency make it an excellent alternative to short car trips. Another reviewer, Ben Fox, praised the scooter’s ability to tackle steep inclines while remaining a sustainable option for city travel.
The Wide Wheel Pro electric scooter offers a practical solution for reducing your carbon footprint while still getting around quickly and efficiently. Its combination of power, range, and eco-friendly features makes it an attractive option for commuters looking to reduce their reliance on gas-powered vehicles.

Recent evaluations by DxOMark have revealed some surprising results for the iPhone 16 Pro Max when compared to its Chinese competitors, including the vivo X100 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. While Apple has long been a leader in smartphone photography, the latest tests show that Chinese smartphone makers have achieved significant strides, especially in areas like telephoto and ultrawide shots.
Chinese smartphone makers have started catching up
When comparing telephoto capabilities, DxOMark noted that the Chinese counterparts captured more detail, especially in long-range shots. Devices like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra (review) and vivo X100 Pro excelled in preserving skin tones and reducing noise. In contrast, images from the iPhone 16 Pro Max showed more noise and softer details.
For instance, a cityscape shot using the main camera showed that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra delivered the clearest and most detailed image. The vivo X100 Pro followed closely, outperforming the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of detail retention.
The difference became even more pronounced with the zoomed shots. The vivo X100 Pro maintained the highest level of detail, while the iPhone lagged, placing last. Despite this, none of the tested phones displayed significant noise or artifacts in the test.
DxOMark also shared a graph plotting detail retention in zoomed shots using telephoto lenses. The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra led at lower zoom levels, while the vivo and Xiaomi models outperformed the iPhone 16 Pro Max at higher zooms. This is attributed to the iPhone’s low-resolution (12MP) 5x periscope telephoto. Beyond 5x zoom, the phone starts cropping into the sensor causing a rapid loss of detail. On the other hand, vivo and Xiaomi’s 50MP telephoto sensors maintain sharpness and clarity even at extended zoom ranges.
iPhone 16 Pro Max’s ultrawide lacks detail and suffers from noise
When it comes to ultrawide shots, the iPhone 16 Pro Max was again outperformed. Its images showed softer details and more noticeable noise, especially when compared to the sharper results from Huawei and vivo devices. While the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s ultrawide images were somewhat oversaturated, they still retained more detail than those from the iPhone.
The findings point to a broader trend: Chinese smartphone makers have made significant progress in image processing, challenging the dominance of established players like Apple. Despite the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s powerful hardware, it appears that software optimizations and better sensor resolutions are helping Android flagships take the lead in certain scenarios.
Oppo will launch the highly anticipated flagship Find X8 series on October 24 in China. Samsung is working on a new version of its latest book-style foldable, called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition). The phone was previously rumored to come with a much slimmer form factor than the original Galaxy Z Fold 6. Now tipster Evan Blass has shared renders of the device revealing the camera island and side frame design.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) camera island
A rectangular camera island paired with a slim form factor
According to the renders, the Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) will feature a rectangular camera island, a shift from the pill-shaped design seen on the standard model. If these renders are accurate, the camera island’s protrusion has also increased, which aligns with the phone becoming thinner overall. Additionally, there are speculations of upgraded camera hardware—something users have been eagerly anticipating since the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in 2022
Moving on, the side frame render suggests a slimmer form factor compared to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6. It features a textured finish that should enhance grip, along with a rose gold color option. Aside from these differences, the button placements and antenna lines remain consistent with the regular model.
Tipster Ice Universe recently mentioned that the display crease on the Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) will be less visible compared to the standard Z Fold 6. This is a much-needed improvement, as previous generations have seen little advancement in this area.
However, it’s important to note that these renders are based on leaked information, so readers should take them with a pinch of salt.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) could come with a less visible crease
According to a previous leak, the phone will measure at 10mm when folded and 4.9mm when unfolded, down from 12.1mm and 5.6mm of the Z Fold 6 respectively. In terms of size, the phone could pack an 8″ inner display (up from 7.6″) and a 6.5″ outer display (up from 6.3″).
Samsung India has listed the phone on it’s official website with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. The listing also highlights an ‘Ultra-light, Thin Design,’ suggesting a slim form factor for the device. While the company is yet to reveal the pricing details, the listing hints at an imminent launch.
According to a previous report, the phone is already up for pre-order in South Korea and shipping could begin on October 25.
