<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/apple/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple </a>finally released a new &#8220;budget&#8221; iPhone after months of rumors and leaks. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/19/apple-iphone-16e-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone 16e debuted</a> with various improvements over older iPhone SE models, but the new release also brings discontinuation of older generation iPhones. So here&#8217;s everything you need to know.</p>

<h2>Apple iPhone 14 Series &amp; iPhone SE Officially Discontinued</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple-iPhone-14" class="wp-image-531077" width="619" height="412" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Apple-iPhone-14-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px" /><figcaption>Apple iPhone 14</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Cupertino based giant has discontinued the iPhone 14 series and iPhone SE 3. Notably, the iPhone SE was the last phone to ever feature the Touch ID fingerprint scanning system, and we might not see this technology return on iPhones ever again. Similarly, Apple has also finally completely transitioned to the USB Type-C port as there is no longer any model officially being sold with the dated Lightning Port for charging and data transfer. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-447995" width="689" height="459" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/iPhone-SE-2022-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 689px) 100vw, 689px" /><figcaption>Apple iPhone SE 2022</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>An official discontinuation means that the iPhone 14 series and iPhone SE have been removed from the brand&#8217;s official website. However, these devices could be selling for a decent discount right now from retailers or online e-commerce platforms. But these are likely limited till the time existing stocks last. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e.png?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 16e" class="wp-image-674075" width="559" height="559" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e.png 870w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e-768x768.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e-696x696.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPhone-16e-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px" /><figcaption>Apple iPhone 16e</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Talking about the new iPhone 16e, the device has a price tag that nearly matches the base iPhone 15. Although, you get the newer Apple A18 chipset, Apple Intelligence, C1 modem for improved 5G connectivity and a USB-C port. It sports a 6.1-inch OLED XDR Retina display on the front along with a 12MP selfie shooter and Face ID technology. Meanwhile, the rear features a long 48MP camera that offers 2x optical zoom. Other notable features include, Haptic Touch, 1200 nits of peak brightness, fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating, and more.</p>

<h4>Gree disbands its smartphone unit</h4>

<p>For those unaware, the company is a known consumer electronic products maker and is known for its air conditioners. But the brand sought to diversify its product line and had even announced its entry into the smartphone market. Its first even handset model was announced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2015/03/18/gree-smartphone-to-compete-with-xiaomi-redmi-note-4g-priced-at-1000-yuan/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">back in 2015</a>, however, with certain official claiming that the brand even had potential to easily surpass Xiaomi as well in the handset market.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GREE-TOSOT-G7-Featured-A-696x392-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Gree" class="wp-image-538638" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GREE-TOSOT-G7-Featured-A-696x392-1.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GREE-TOSOT-G7-Featured-A-696x392-1-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></figure></div>

<p>But just a couple of years into this segment, the company has announced its exit from the market. Notably, this news also arrives as the smartphone shipments in the Chinese market fell by 11 percent in the first quarter of this year. This marks the lowest ever levels in a decade. Thus, Gree has disbanded the core team of its smartphone unit, as per a report from the Chinese media outlet Jiemian. </p>

<p>But unfortunately, the brand has yet to respond to any requests for a comment on this matter. Back in 2021, we had even covered the launched of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/05/gree-tosot-g7-launched-as-rebranded-meizu-18x/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gree TOSOT G7 model</a>, which was a rebranded Meizu 18X. The company clearly didn&#8217;t catch up to or even outperform Xiaomi and it is likely planning on consolidating its efforts to its core operations. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more updates.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-glass/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2</a> has officially reached the end of its life. The company has announced that it will be ending support for the smart glasses later this year, so here are all the details.</p>

<p>For those unaware, the Google Glass was first unveiled back in 2013 but was considered to be a commercial failure in the market. However, the Search Engine giant had shifted the its augmented reality (AR) product to businesses and enterprises. This also had the company dub the wearable device as the Google Glass Enterprise Edition. A couple of years after, the brand also released the second generation model in 2019 that was built with the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 hardware platform.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="934" height="517" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Google" class="wp-image-522918" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2.jpg 934w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2-300x166.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2-768x425.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2-696x385.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Google-Glass-Enterprise-Edition-2-759x420.jpg 759w" sizes="(max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px" /></figure></div>

<p>But earlier this week, the company has announced that the Google Glass Enterprise Edition have been officially discontinued. As per official notes on the <a href="https://support.google.com/glass-enterprise/customer/answer/13417888" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Glass </a>website, the company will still continue to support its existing customer base. However, this support will only last till 15th September 2023 and there will no longer be any software updates for this platform. In other words, the Glass clients will only be able to get replacement devices until this date.</p>

<p>Although, the third party developers will still be able to update their applications that are responsible for business specific tasks. Furthermore, existing headsets will still work as normal. But, the &#8220;Meet on Glass” app may break after September 15, since it is only guaranteed to work till that date.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/black-shark-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Black Shark 5</a> series has apparently been taken off shelves in the Chinese market. Netizens have recently noticed that the company&#8217;s gaming smartphones have been sold out on various platforms. So here are all the details.</p>

<p>The gaming smartphone lineup from the Chinese brand includes the base model along with the Pro variant, and the higher end RS version. However, all three models in the Black Shark 5 series has been removed from JD.com and even the company&#8217;s official website as well. Although the Black Shark 5 RS variant is still in stock in the Black Shark section of the JD.com website. This makes it the only model that is currently available for purchase. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141.jpg?x44794" alt="Black Shark" class="wp-image-510408" width="602" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141.jpg 850w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141-300x287.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141-768x735.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141-696x667.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Screenshot-2022-04-06-113141-439x420.jpg 439w" sizes="(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px" /></figure></div>

<p>This has led many to believe that the series has been shelved by the company. In other words, the phones have possibly been discontinued and had its production ceased. This would seem odd considering the Black Shark 5 was released less than a year ago, back in 30 March 2022. The smartphone officially went on sale on April 2, so it means that the device is already unavailable a mere nine months after launch.</p>

<p>As of right now, finer details are still unclear and we have no way of confirming why the company&#8217;s latest existing model is out of stock. On the other hand, there have also been rumors going around that Black Shark has been slashing jobs in China. These rates of lay offs were reportedly quite high with rates nearly hitting 50 percent. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

In other words, the company plans to completely shift to new energy powered vehicles in half a decade. As of right now, BYD is the only major automobile brand that has announced the discontinuation of fuel vehicles. The company made the announcement following its milestone achievement of becoming the world&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/02/tesla-once-again-ranked-second-in-the-global-ev-market/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">top new energy vehicle maker in terms of sale.</a></p>

<p>Sp the decision to stop producing fuel vehicles from Dongfeng Fengxing was quite noteworthy. Interestingly enough, the company also announced a new electric SUV model during the same press conference called the SUV Fengxing Leiting, which just recently went on pre-sales. This model is equipped with motors built by BYD, with its heat pump management system being made by Huawei. By the end of 2025, the company is also set to launch 10 new energy vehicle models as well that will include sedans, SUVs, MVPs, and more. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-tv/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple TV</a> has existed in two different variants alongside each other for some time now. The TV 4K was first launched back in 2017 and sold along with the fourth gen Apple TV HD. However, with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-tv-4k-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">latest TV 4K </a>model launch, the company has finally discontinued the old HD variant.</p>

<p>For those unaware, the Cupertino based giant launched the latest TV 4K model earlier this week. At the same time, the iPhone maker also delisted the TV HD variant, which is no longer sold in the company&#8217;s official store. The Apple TV HD model was the fourth generation of the series and was also the first variant that ran on tvOS, which is a standalone operating system that was dedicated to these devices. Furthermore, it was equipped with the A8 chip and had 2GB of RAM.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4.webp?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-491239" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/apple-tv-4k-4-747x420.webp 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>One of the biggest highlights of this fourth gen Apple TV was also the arrival of the Siri Remote that featured touchpad and motion sensors. It was announced for a starting price tag of 149 US Dollars for the 32GB version. However, the company finally announced the TV 4K, which was the first model that came with 4K resolution and HDR support. It was also powered by the more powerful A10X Fusion chipset. In 2021, this device was refreshed again with the A12 Bionic chip and a redesigned Siri Remote.</p>

<p>Now, the latest model is the Apple TV 4K 2022, which comes with the even more powerful A15 Bionic chipset, which is around 50 percent faster than the A12 chipset. The new Siri Remote also comes with a USB Type C charging port over the Lightning port on the older models. Its starting storage capacity also doubled to 64GB and maxed out at 128GB, with a lowered starting price tag of 129 US Dollars.</p>

So now, the October 2022 is the last month the two smartphones will be receiving their guaranteed update. In other words, there will no longer offer any major Android version update or even any security updates either. For those unaware, Google&#8217;s Pixel family of phones typically are one of the first to receive any major Android upgrades as a part of their &#8220;guaranteed&#8221; updates.</p>
<p>This means, it is still possible that the company will support the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL with smaller software updates for a while longer. Although, this is unlikely considering the brand stopped supporting the Pixel 3 following the end of the &#8220;guaranteed&#8221; updates previously. The company discontinuing the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL support arrives just ahead of the launch of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which is the flagship lineup of this year.</p>
<p>Since these are new phones, it is guaranteed to receive five years of security patches, which is higher than the three years of security updates offered by the Pixel 4 series. However, the Pixel 7 series will likely only receive up to three years of major Android support.</p>

Now, it has extended the same treatment to the original <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-airpods-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AirPods Pro</a>, which has been discontinued following the launch of the newer <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/airpods-pro-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AirPods Pro 2</a>.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_483945" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-483945" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-483945 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1200" height="669" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1.jpeg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-300x167.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-1024x571.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-768x428.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-696x388.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-1068x595.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Apple-AirPods-Pro-2-1-753x420.jpeg 753w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-483945" class="wp-caption-text">AirPods Pro 2</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>For those unaware, the second-generation AirPods Pro TWS earbuds are the Cupertino-based giant&#8217;s latest flagship wireless earphones. It arrives with a number of new features, which include Spacial Audio, improved ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), and improved bandwidth connectivity as well. Apart from these changes on the inside, the AirPods Pro 2 largely retains a similar design to the original AirPods Pro, albeit with some more polishes to the design.</p>
<p>With the Apple AirPods Pro already carrying a hefty price tag, the company decided to launch the AirPods Pro 2 for the exact same cost. However, this came at the cost of discontinuing the previous generation entirely. So, the AirPods Pro 2 is available for purchase for 249 US Dollars <a href="https://amzn.to/3RWAni6">via retailers like Amazon</a>. In other words, this also means that you can&#8217;t find the original AirPods Pro for a lower price tag from Apple&#8217;s own website.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_301442" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-301442" style="width: 1608px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-301442 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01.jpeg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1608" height="851" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01.jpeg 1608w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-300x159.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-768x406.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-1024x542.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-696x368.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-1068x565.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/191029-apple-airpods-pro-01-794x420.jpeg 794w" sizes="(max-width: 1608px) 100vw, 1608px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-301442" class="wp-caption-text">AirPods Pro</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Notably, even if the AirPods Pro has been removed from the iPhone maker&#8217;s official website, the original version is still available in various other stores. So, certain third-party retailers are also selling the AirPods Pro for the same price as the AirPods 3 that costs <a href="https://amzn.to/3L8LphW">around 179 US Dollars</a>.</p>

This finally marks the end of an era and the company&#8217;s iconic iPod series that has been around for 20 years now.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-255944 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1054" height="559" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch.png 1054w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-300x159.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-768x407.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-1024x543.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-696x369.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-792x420.png 792w" sizes="(max-width: 1054px) 100vw, 1054px" /></p>
<p>The Cupertino based giant stated that the reason for discontinuing the product was due to the gadget becoming obsolete and out of date. Its features are now offered by other Apple products like the iPhone and the iPad. In other words, it has been more or less replaced in the current market. For those unaware, the recently discontinued iPod Touch was the last entry within the iPod family and was unveiled back in May 2019, which is around 3 years ago.</p>
<p>But now, the brand&#8217;s marketing chief Greg Joswiak said that &#8220;Music has always been part of our core at Apple, and bringing it to hundreds of millions of users in the way iPod did impacted more than just the music industry &#8212; it also redefined how music is discovered, listened to, and shared. Today, the spirit of iPod lives on. We&#8217;ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV. And Apple Music delivers industry leading sound quality with support for spatial audio &#8212; there&#8217;s no better way to enjoy, discover, and experience music.&#8221;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-255945 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-featured.png?x44794" alt="Apple" width="576" height="395" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-featured.png 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-featured-300x206.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-featured-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/iPod-Touch-featured-218x150.png 218w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></p>
<p>The iPod was first introduced back in October 2001, which is almost 21 years ago. Since then, the company had launched various iterations of the iPod, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ipod-shuffle/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPod Shuffle</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ipod-nano/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPod Nano</a>, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ipod-touch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPod Touch</a>. But over the course of the years, all of these have been phased out. As of right now, the iPod Touch will still be available for purchase starting from 199 US Dollars from the brand&#8217;s website and retail stores, but only till stocks last.</p>

<p>In other words, both of these apps are no longer available on either iOS or Android devices. Many Twitter users found out that the social media platform had removed both of the apps from the app stores. Recently, the Meta owned brand had also announced that it was discontinuing its standalone app for IGTV as well. This was primarily due to Instagram&#8217;s plan on shifting its focus to a single main app rather than a bunch of smaller ones.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the company had already integrated the IGTV platform into the primary app for years now. Similarly, Boomerang and Hyperlapse were always features on the main app. So, it arrives as no surprise that the social media platform quietly discontinued both of the apps. These were originally launched during a time when smartphone had limited performance. Thus, you had a separate app dedicated to just the Boomerang and Hyperlapse feature.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-346509 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo.png?x44794" alt="Instagram Logo" width="2350" height="1296" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo.png 2350w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-300x165.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-768x424.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-1024x565.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-696x385.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-1068x589.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-762x420.png 762w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Instagram-Logo-1920x1059.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2350px) 100vw, 2350px" /></p>
<p>Despite the standalone apps offering a better Boomerang effect or time lapse recording overall, these features have been available in the main app for a while now. On the other hand, Instagram&#8217;s Layout application is still available for download. This app helps in making photo collages, but it shouldn&#8217;t take too long for the company to take this down as well.</p>

<p>As per a <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/09/14/iphone-lineup-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a> report, the launch of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max has led to the Cupertino based giant refining its iPhone offerings. As of right now, the iPhone 12 Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-12-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 12 Pro Max</a> have been delisted from the company&#8217;s official online store. <p>Apart from models in the iPhone 12 series, the iPhone XR that was launched three years ago, back in 2018, has also finally been delisted as well. While these aforemention models are no longer available, the based <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-12/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 12</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 11</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-se-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone SE</a> are still available in the form of lower cost options. All of these devices have also seen a drop in price. Looking at the prices, the iPhone SE costs 399 US Dollars, while the iPhone 11 costs 499 US Dollars. Similarly, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-12-mini/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 12 mini</a> now costs 599 US Dollars and the iPhone 12 is priced at 699 US Dollars, which is the same as the iPhone 13 mini.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G might have been discontinued in India. Reportedly, the company has discontinued the Mi 11 Lite to make way for the arrival of a new 5G variant.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>As per a tweet by known tipster <a href="https://twitter.com/yabhishekhd/status/1421484681506136067" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Abhishek Yadav</em></a>, the Chinese tech giant will be discomfiting the Mi 11 Lite 4G in place of its 5G variant. In other words, the Mi 11 Lite 4G will be replaced by the Mi 11 Lite 5G in the Southeast Asian country. Apparently, the company is aiming on relaunching the device in a 5G variant that will support the newer and faster bandwidth. The news arrives from one of the tipster&#8217;s sources.</p>
<p>For those unaware, the Mi 11 Lite 4G arrived in India with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor. This 4G only variant was also launched for the global market as well. Although, the Chinese variant of the device sported the more powerful Snapdragon 780G processor that is 5G enabled. Meaning, the brand might be planning on releasing this 5G version of the device in India.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-389494 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G White" width="1440" height="960" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White.jpg 1440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-Mi-11-Lite-5G-White-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /></p>
<p>Notably, the Mi 11 Lite 5G was even launched as the world&#8217;s first smartphone to sport the Snapdragon 780G chipset and was also the thinnest 5G handset, measuring just 6.81mm thick. Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt. Xiaomi has also yet to make any official announcement as of right now. So stay tuned for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

<p>According to an <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/04/14/kuo-48mp-camera-with-8k-support-coming-to-iphone-in-2022?utm_medium=rss" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em> </a>report, known Apple analyst <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ming-chi-kuo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ming-Chi Kuo</a> has just predicted that the next gen high end iPhone 14 models from the company will apparently arrive with a 1/1.3 inch 48MP CMOS image sensor for the wide angle camera module. Since this is a 48 megapixel sensor, the Cupertino based giant could also have the device support hybrid operating modes and even pixel binning to maximize pixel size and improve the the sensors&#8217; light gathering capabilities.</p>
<p>Kuo noted that &#8220;We believe that the new 2H22 iPhone may support direct 48MP output and 12MP (four cells merge output mode) output simultaneously. With 12MP output, the CIS pixel size of the new 2H22 iPhone increases to about 2.5um, which is significantly larger than the iPhone 12 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-iphone-13/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPhone 13</a>, and larger than existing Android phones, and close to the DSC level.&#8221; Furthermore, the Pixel size is a native 48 megapixel resolutions and is around 1.25um.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-348930 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple iPhone 12" width="980" height="551" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Apple-iPhone-12-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></p>
<p>In comparison, the iPhone 12&#8217;s pixel is 1.7um, while the iPhone 13&#8217;s pixel is rumored to be around a 2um. Owing to the high resolution, Kuo notes that we might soon see smartphones capable of recording 8K videos soon. This will mark a significant shift from 4K recordings from current gen. Although, the frame rates for the capture were not mentioned in the report, so stay tuned for more updates. Lastly, the analyst also added that the company will discontinue the iPhone mini lineup in 2022, and offer only 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch base and Pro variants.</p>

<p>Keep in mind, that most people would not be affected by the discontinuation of the Adobe Flash player as most major websites have already switched to other platforms. Notably, Apple users in particular, namely with iPhones and iPads, as both iOS and iPads never supported Flash, to begin with. Steve Jobs, the co founder and former CEO of Apple, had also shared his &#8220;Thoughts on Flash&#8221; back in 2010. He criticized Adobe software&#8217;s reliability, incompatibility issues, and battery drain on mobile devices. He even called it &#8220;painfully slow to adopt enhancements to Apple&#8217;s platforms,&#8221; as per a <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/01/02/adobe-ends-flash-support/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em> </a>report.</p>

<p>For those unaware, one of the reasons major websites shifted away from Adobe Flash was due to the platform suffering from various vulnerabilities. This exposed many PC and Mac users to malware and various other security risks as well. This caused many companies like Microsoft and Apple to constantly work to fix the numerous security issues. Thus, many eventually made the shift to other formats.</p>

<p>Since Adobe Flash is no longer being officially supported and has reached the end of its lifespan, the company has recommended users to uninstall and remove the software from their devices completely, &#8220;to help protect their systems.&#8221; So it is advised to do so, to avoid any potential vulnerability from being exploited on your desktop or laptop PCs.</p>
