Huawei’s business has been severely impacted due to the sanctions by the United States and several of its allied countries. This is made it difficult for the Chinese tech giant to survive in the smartphone market.

Along with the smartphones and network equipment business, the company is also facing issues in other verticals as well. Currently, the Huawei MateBook series laptops are almost out of stock in China.

The high-end models like Huawei MateBook X Pro 2021/2020 are currently available for purchase and all the other models are not available, including the MateBook 16 which was released last month.

The shortage of Huawei laptops is expected to continue for the time being and could see some relief in terms of stock availability in the month of August. The brand is also expected to launch some new models in September or October.

The reason behind the shortage of devices is not yet known. This could be because of the shortage in the supply of chips by Intel and AMD. The company may have been affected by the industrial chain supply shortage amid rising prices.

Huawei is expected to continue launching new laptops in the second half of this year, along with a variety of display and headset products, starting from August. However, the brand has repeatedly postponed Huawei P50-series phones and the launch of the Huawei Mate 50 lineup is also pending.

Recently, Huawei had launched two new MateView monitors for gamers and professionals. Now, a new leak has revealed that the company will be launching several new monitors in August, while new laptops are also set to be announced in the second half of this year.

According to a post on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo from @长安数码君, the consumer electronics maker will be announcing multiple new products in the latter half of this year. The tipster claims that the Chinese tech giant will be announcing several new monitors in August. While the company did announce new monitors recently, we had previously reported on monitors with different sizes that were not announced. So these might be a part of a different lineup.

Furthermore, the tipster added that the company will also be launching new laptop models in the second half of this year. Apart from notebooks, the brand is also reportedly gearing up to launch different products like headphones as well. Meaning, there might be other wearable and hearables launching in the second half. We had also previously reported on the company planning on launching a smartwatch with blood pressure tracking in H2 2021. So, this product could also be a part of the new products company’s plans on launching.

A recent leak has highlighted the features and specs of Huawei‘s latest flagship laptop, powered by its own Kirin chip.

Recently, reports emanating from the Chinese company, which is a global trailblazer in pioneering 5G technology, says the company is presently working on the possible release of several personal computers that are powered by Huawei‘s custom-made silicon chip, called the HiSilicon ARM chip.

This new leak however provides enough details about the forthcoming laptop coming from the company. However, it should be pointed out straight away that the leak was not from official sources of the company.

A photo of the notebook’s shipping box was released by a long-standing and reliable Weibo tipster, which revealed important specs of the soon to be released laptop.
We now present a sneak peek into the listed specs of the notebook. The device is powered by the impressive and powerful Kirin 990 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch 1080p display, well primed from excellent visuals and speed operations. The laptop has the Linux-based Deepin OS 20 operating system, and the transition to HarmonyOS will be a possibility in the nearest future.

The laptop itself has been named the Qingyun L410 and projections put its price far cheaper than the MateBook 14, even though they both come with similar specs and features. There’s also the exciting possibility of the laptop supporting 5G connectivity since its SoC has incorporated an integrated 5G modem. This 5G capability is one feature that could stand the device out and enhance Huawei’s reputation as a trailblazer in pioneering next-generation communications technology.

As should be expected, the notebook will most certainly berth in the Chinese market first before being released to the global market- that is if there were plans for the device to be released to the global market. Huawei is yet to release an official statement on the matter at this time.

A few days back, Huawei released a new teaser via its Weibo page in China, which hinted that the company was going to release its brand new Matebook Laptop Hybrid at MWC 2016. The teaser image showed a stylus and said that the upcoming product was targeted at the business customers. Given that these two were the main rumored highlights of the device (apart from its hybrid design), we assumed that Huawei was going to release its new Matebook laptop at the tech event in Barcelona.

But there was another possibility. The launch could have been for the long rumored Huawei P9 flagship. However, things have now become a lot clearer, thanks to the recent comments from two of the top executives from Huawei. Company CEO Yu Chengdong and VP of Huawei’s Consumer Business division have come forward to almost confirm that we will see a new laptop from the company at MWC.

Both the execs had something to comment about the PC industry. Company VP, Xu Qin Song said that although PC, tablet and smartphones have overalapping functions, they cannot be replaced. This definitely hints that the company has something related to the industry in store for us. Later, even CEO Yu Chengdong joined saying that the PC industry needed new injection.

Considering the timing of these comments and the teaser released recently, we can be almost sure that Huawei will release its rumored Matebook laptop at MWC 2016. Unfortunately, the company is yet to comment on the specs or the pricing of a possible Huawei laptop, but we don’t expect it to be cheap.

The laptop is expected to be customized for business users and hence, the words on the teaser “The new style of business” kind of hints at this product launch. Moreover, the teaser confirms a stylus for the product, which once again the Matebook hybrid was rumored to come with. Seeing all these hints, it’s quite likely that the company will announce the Matebook laptop at the event.

Yesterday, we came across a patent filing by Huawei for the trademark “Matebook” which was most likely for a new notebook computer from the company. The description of the trademark hinted that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer was going to enter the PC industry soon.

Now, a new post from one of the insiders of the industry has revealed that the Huawei Matebook laptop will most likely be made by BYD Electronics. This Shenzen based smartphone component manufacturer has made phones for companies like Nokia and Motorola. On the other hand, its confirmed that the Taiwanese ODM Inventec will design and manufacture laptops for Xiaomi.

So it looks like next year, we will have several new entrants in the PC industry starting with Xiaomi and Huawei. Xiaomi laptops are expected to start shipping sometime in the first half of 2016. However, we still have no idea about the release time frame of the Huawei Matebook laptop. Considering Xiaomi’s entry into the industry, the release should be around the same time as its rival. But for more information, it looks like, we will have to wait for a few more weeks at least.
