Reports suggest the device will pack a 4400mAh battery and will also feature wireless charging.

According to tipster Panda, Huawei Mate 50e has bagged the China 3C certification.
Huawei Mate 50 series will be unveiled in China on September 6. The series is expected to have four models –Mate 50, Mate 50e, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Edition. The company has not revealed the specs of any of the devices yet.

However, as per various leaks and rumors, the Huawei Mate 50 will draw power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset but will only support 4G LTE. The Mate 50 Pro and 50 RS Edition will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 9000S chipset. Whereas, the Mate 50e model will likely feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

All the devices in the series are expected to feature an OLED display sourced from BOE, however, the refresh rate will vary on each device. The base models will feature a standard 90hz refresh rate and the higher-end models will flaunt a 120Hz refresh rate. On the software front, the upcoming lineup will come running the company’s home-brewed HarmonyOS 3.0.

Pricing and other details about the devices are yet to be known. In any case, the September 6 announcement date is just yesterday, so we’re destined to full details soon.

Huawei Mate 50 Specifications

The cheapest among the family is the Huawei Mate 50E, which is equipped with Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 778G SoC that has only support for 4G network connectivity. The design of the Huawei Mate 50E is expected to be a glass and aluminium chassis, with flat aluminium sides and glass on the front and back.

The device will sport a flat 1.5K AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 2800*1225, a punch hole located in the centre top of the display along with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The rear camera setup will be a standard triple camera setup consisting of a standard wide-angle main, ultra wide-angle and telephoto lens.

The technology scene in China has been speculating what Huawei’s emergency mode may look like. Some proposed the idea that the smartphone reserves 5 percent of the power for emergency calls and QR code scanning services: some proposed the idea to set the smartphone voltage to a very low level at a certain time before the power is turned off, such as setting the voltage from an idle 3.2 V to below 2.8 V, so as to squeeze out tens of hundreds of mAh of power for emergency use.

In simpler terms, the emergency battery mode has some examples where it could be useful for interested buyers. For instance, after the smartphone has run out of power, you can enable emergency mode and scan the nearest QR location code and enter a nearby electronics store to borrow a power bank.

Hence, multiple smartphone launches are expected in the next couple of months.

As of writing this article, 7 different brands have already scheduled launch conferences in September. We may see the announcement of multiple phones at some of these events.

Apart from the confirmed launches, there are also several rumored releases. We have compiled all of them in one place.

Since the festive season is a revenue generator for firms, handsets of all varieties will go official in the coming days. We are looking forward to smartphones spanning across different categories and price segments.

With that out of the way, let’s take a look at all the smartphones that are either officially confirmed or expected to launch in September 2022.

The company has revealed that it is scheduling a launch event for the official launch of the all-new Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones in the Chinese market on 6th September.

Huawei has revealed the launch date, but the company has not yet revealed the key features and specifications of the phones. However, thanks to multiple leaks and certifications, we have an idea of what to expect. The series will likely have four models –Mate 50, Mate 50e, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Edition.

The Huawei Mate 50 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with connectivity limited to 4G LTE. The other models in the lineup, including the Pro model, will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 9000S chipset. The Mate 50e model is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

The Huawei Kirin 9000S processor has not yet been announced by the company, but it is likely to be a tweaked version of the Kirin 9000 SoC that has now become the last flagship chipset from the company because of the US-imposed sanctions.

The phones are rumored to feature an OLED display sourced from BOE, offering a refresh rate of 90Hz on the base model and 120Hz on the high-end models. Similar to other smartphones from Huawei, the upcoming lineup will also come running the company’s own HarmonyOS 3.0, which is called HongMeng OS in China.

The company is gearing up to launch the next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphone in the Chinese market, dubbed Huawei Mate 50 series. While the company has not yet confirmed that launch date, it has been leaked online.

As per the latest report, the Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones could be launched on 7th September in the Chinese market. The lineup will reportedly include four models — Huawei Mate 50e, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS.

The smartphones are rumored to be powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 9000S processor, which is expected to be a tweaked version of the Kirin 9000 SoC. Recently, it was reported that the Mate 50 RS might not be powered by the company’s in-house developed Kirin 9000S processor because of the lack of stock for the Kirin-series chips.

The Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones are expected to come with new features for the camera department, along with support for Huawei Image XMAGE. The phones could also have upgraded internals compared to their predecessor but will still be 4G-only.

In line with other smartphones from Huawei, the upcoming lineup will also come running the company’s own HarmonyOS 3.0, which is called HongMeng OS in China.

As the launch of the Huawei Mate 50 series smartphone is expected to take place on 7th September, we expect the company to soon make an announcement for the launch date and start teasing the upcoming phone’s features.
