he standard Oppo Find X10, carrying model number CPH2911, has received certification from India’s BIS platform. The same model has previously appeared on Thailand’s NBTC database, where its final marketing name was revealed as the Oppo Find X10. It has also cleared certification in Europe through the EEC and Indonesia through TKDN.

The Find X10 Pro Max, meanwhile, carries model number CPH2913 and has also appeared on Thailand’s NBTC database. It has additionally been spotted on the EEC and TUV certification platforms. The TUV listing reveals support for 80W wired charging, although the certification does not provide further specifications.

Interestingly, the Find X10 Pro has not appeared in the same global certification activity so far. This has led to speculation that Oppo could launch the standard Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max in all the markets, and there may not be at all. The reason behind the lineup for the Chinese market is expected to include an entry-level model called the Find X10E instead of X10 Pro.

The Find X10 series is already confirmed to debut in China in September, with the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max tipped to reach global markets by late October. India is also expected to receive the two models by the end of October, although Oppo has yet to announce an official launch date.

Oppo is all set to announce the Find X10 series of flagship phones in China this month. As the launch approaches, the company has started dropping hints about what it has planned for the new lineup. In a recent Weibo interaction, Oppo Find series product manager Zhuo Shijie revealed what users can expect from the standard Find X10.

Oppo Find X10 to be a major upgrade

Shijie said that Oppo had recently started intensive preparations for the launch event for its new X10 series phones. He also described the standard Find X10 as being “top-notch” and suggested that the improvements should make it a worthwhile upgrade. He also specifically mentioned that both the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro are worth replacing, hinting at a substantial generational jump with the upcoming model.

Oppo Find X10 specifications (rumored)

According to previous leaks, the Oppo Find X10 could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO display and a Dimensity 9500-series chipset. The phone is also tipped to pack an 8,000mAh battery, which would be unusually large for a flagship of this size.

Its camera setup could include dual 200-megapixel sensors for the main and telephoto cameras, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a multispectral sensor and a possible. For selfies, it may feature an autofocus-enabled 50-megapixel front camera.

Other rumoured features include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, full-level water resistance and a customisable AI button. The phone has also appeared in 3C certification with an 80W charger and is expected to support 50W wireless charging.

The Oppo ColorOS 17 Launch and Developer Conference is scheduled for September 17, 2026. The new OS is built on Android 17 and will debut on the Oppo Find X10 series, which is also expected to be unveiled at the same event.

You’re looking at the iPhone 18 Pro series and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the Xiaomi 18 series and the Xiaomi 18 Fold, the Vivo X500 series, the Oppo Find X10 series, the Honor Magic9 series, the Huawei Mate 90 series, the iQOO 16 series, and the Poco F9 series, on top of a wave of Redmi and Poco midrangers.

Part of the crowding comes down to timing that’s shifted across the industry at once. Apple is reportedly pulling its high-end launch earlier and pairing it with a brand-new form factor. Huawei has moved the Mate series up from its usual November slot to get ahead of the competition. Xiaomi is using September to introduce its in-house Xring O3 chip across two device families simultaneously, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 are both fresh enough that Xiaomi, Vivo, and iQOO all want to be first to ship them. Even brands that normally stagger their releases, like Honor and Oppo, are lining their flagships up close enough that you’ll be comparing specs sheets side by side whether you planned to or not.

Apple’s event is set for September 9, and this year it’s not just the usual Pro refresh. You’re getting the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. 

The Pro models are tipped to keep familiar 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes, but move to the A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process, 12GB of RAM, and Apple’s own C2 modem instead of a third-party option. You’ll also see a shrunken Dynamic Island as Face ID components move further under the display.

The foldable is the bigger story for you if you’ve been waiting to see what Apple does with the form factor. According to rumors, it will have a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.3-inch cover screen, built from a mix of titanium and aluminum. Apple is reportedly dropping Face ID here in favor of Touch ID, likely built into the power button, and skipping a telephoto lens on the dual rear camera setup. That’s a real trade-off for a device expected to cost more than $2,000, especially since Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series and Huawei’s Pura X line don’t cut that corner. 

Xiaomi’s busiest month of the year

Xiaomi is treating September as a launch marathon. The company will launch the Xiaomi 18 Fold in early September with the company’s new in-house Xring O3 chip, paired with next-generation LPDDR6 RAM. 

Moreover, you’re likely to get a 7.6-inch foldable display, a 6,000mAh battery that’s noticeably bigger than what Samsung and Huawei offer in their folding phones, 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, and a 200MP primary camera. It ships alongside the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, which uses the same chipset.

Toward the end of the month, Xiaomi is set to launch the Xiaomi 18 Pro series with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 hardware. Xiaomi will be the first brand to ship phones with that chipset. 

You can expect dual 200MP SmartSens sensors, a dedicated AI button, and — notably — a faster global rollout than in past years. Xiaomi’s global 18 Pro and standard 18 models have already picked up certification in markets including Turkey, the EEA, Russia, Taiwan, and Japan, though India isn’t part of that initial batch as of yet.

Huawei Mate XT2

Unlike most of the phones in this roundup, the Mate XT2 doesn’t need a rumored tag. Huawei has officially confirmed its launch date for September 7, landing well before both the Mate 90 series and Apple’s own event. The device is Huawei’s third tri-fold phone, following the original Mate XT and last year’s Mate XTs refresh.

Pre-orders are already open in China in 16GB+512GB, 16GB+1TB, 16GB+1TB with a privacy display, and a top-end 16GB+2TB version bundled with a privacy display and a stylus. The first three configurations come in Obsidian Black, White, and Purple, while the top-tier model is Purple only. 

On the hardware side, the device could get a Kirin 9050 Pro chipset built on Huawei’s newer process, a battery above 6,000mAh, and a redesigned hinge aimed at reducing the crease on the 10.2-inch unfolded display.

What’s notable is how Huawei is sequencing this against its other September launch. Rather than bundling everything into one event, the company is reportedly splitting the Mate XT2 and Mate 90 series across two separate dates. This gives Huawei two separate moments in the spotlight instead of one.

Huawei Mate 90 series arrives early with a new Kirin chip

Moving to the Mate 90 series now, and if you know the Mate series has typically launched in November, this year it’s reportedly moving up to September to land closer to Apple’s event. 

The chipset is the bigger story here. Huawei’s next Kirin processor is said to use a new “Tau” design approach that increases transistor density by more than 50%, putting performance in the neighborhood of early TSMC 3nm chips despite Huawei’s manufacturing constraints.

On the camera side, the Mate 90 Pro Max is tipped to bring back true long-range optical zoom with dual periscope telephoto lenses, including one capable of 10x optical zoom, a setup Huawei hasn’t offered since the P40 Pro+. Likewise, the battery capacity is expected to land between 6,800mAh and 7,000mAh across the Pro Max and RS models, paired with a 6.9-inch Tandem OLED display.

iQOO 16 Series

The iQOO 16 series is, as usual, a performance-first flagship, and iQOO is expected to unveil it in China alongside the iQOO Neo 12 and a new compact tablet. You’ll get a 6.85-inch Samsung-made flat display running at 2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip. 

What’s notable is that iQOO is putting more effort into the camera system this time. The device is tipped with three 50MP rear sensors, including a large 1/1.3-inch primary sensor with an f/1.68 aperture. Extras include Bose-tuned dual speakers, a dedicated X-axis linear motor for haptics, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and IP68/IP69 ratings. The device is likely to launch at the end of September or early October, so it’s one of the later arrivals in this whole wave.

Vivo X500 series goes all in on video

Vivo has confirmed the X500 series for a September debut in China. As usual, both the X500 Pro and Pro Max have a Zeiss Super Dynamic main camera co-developed with Sony, rated for 17EV of dynamic range, which Vivo describes as the highest in the industry right now. The capability carries over to video too, with 4K 240fps slow motion and 4K 120fps HDR recording. The camera module also gets 3-degree OIS with gimbal-level stabilization.

Hardware-wise, the Vivo X500 Pro Max is expected to have a 6.85-inch 2K display using BOE’s Q11 panel, the first phone globally to get it. Vivo says it cuts motion blur during scrolling by 93% compared to the previous generation. Honor Magic9 series brings ARRI’s cinema tools to the phone

The F9 Pro gets a 6.59-inch QHD+ Plastic OLED display at 185Hz, while the F9 Ultra steps up to a 6.85-inch panel with a 2608 x 1200 resolution, both developed with TCL CSOT and Xiaomi contributing to the panel design.

Likewise, the F9 Pro packs 6,330mAh while the F9 Ultra jumps to 8,050mAh, both supporting 100W wired charging and USB Power Delivery. On camera, the F9 Ultra adds a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 5x telephoto on top of its main sensor, while the F9 Pro trims that down to an 8MP ultrawide and a 2.5x telephoto.

For comparison, the current Oppo Find X9 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, a 6.59-inch 120Hz flat display, and up to 1,800 nits of global peak brightness. It also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

On the back, the Find X9 uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 main camera, a 50-megapixel JN5 ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel LYT-600 telephoto camera. It packs a 7,025mAh battery and launched in China at 4,399 yuan.

Oppo has also confirmed that the Find X10 series will be the first to use its next-generation ProXDR display technology. The series is expected to launch in September, so we should hear more about the display technology closer to the launch.

The Oppo Enco Air 5 takes a fairly straightforward approach to budget wireless earbuds: deliver strong noise cancellation, enjoyable sound, long battery life, and useful smart features without making the experience unnecessarily complicated. After spending time with them, it is clear that Oppo has focused more on getting the fundamentals right than chasing flashy extras.

The earbuds feature up to 52dB adaptive ANC, a 12mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.1, triple-microphone call noise cancellation, dual-device connectivity, and up to 54 hours of total battery life.

Design and comfort

The Oppo Enco Air 5 has a compact charging case with a matte finish that does a good job of resisting fingerprints. The earbuds themselves have a glossy finish, however, so they pick up smudges more easily. The Lavender Purple version looks distinctive without being overly flashy, while Midnight Black is the more understated option.

Each earbud weighs around 4.3g, and the lightweight construction makes them comfortable for extended listening. The in-ear fit also provides a good seal, which is important for both passive isolation and ANC performance. The bundled silicone tips give you different sizing options to help achieve the right fit.

The earbuds carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, although the charging case is not rated for water resistance.

Sound quality

The Oppo Enco Air 5 uses a 12mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated PET diaphragm. In everyday listening, the sound is energetic and enjoyable, with particularly strong bass response. The audio performance can be modified using the HeyMelody app from Oppo.

The default Ultimate Sound profile offers the best balance for most genres, while Pure Vocals puts more emphasis on voices and Thundering Bass adds extra low-end impact. There is also a 10-band Pro Equalizer, allowing you to adjust the sound to your preference and save custom profiles.

The mids are not quite as impressive as the bass and highs, but vocals remain clear enough for music, podcasts, and videos. Oppo also includes Alive Audio, which creates a wider, more spacious presentation. It works better for movies and live recordings than for everyday music listening.

ANC is the biggest highlight

In everyday use, call quality is solid. Background traffic and wind are reduced effectively, although extremely noisy environments can still make some external sound audible. For regular phone calls and online meetings, the microphones are more than capable.

Features and connectivity

Bluetooth 6.1 provides stable connectivity, while dual-device connectivity lets the earbuds remain connected to two devices across Android, iOS, and Windows. This is particularly useful if you regularly move between a phone and laptop.

The HeyMelody app provides access to the EQ, ANC settings, touch controls, and other features on compatible devices. Oppo and OnePlus users get deeper integration directly through the system settings.

The earbuds also support Tap to Launch functions, including Spotify Tap, an AI voice assistant, and a camera shutter. AI Translate is another useful addition, although its availability and functionality depend on the supported phone and software.

For gaming, the dedicated low-latency mode can reduce earbud latency to as little as 47ms. It is a useful addition for mobile gaming, particularly in titles where directional audio matters.

Battery life

Battery life is another strong point. Oppo rates the earbuds for up to 13 hours with ANC disabled and up to 54 hours with the charging case. With ANC enabled, the rated figures drop to 6.5 hours for the earbuds and 27 hours with the case.

The case and earbuds take roughly 90 minutes to fully charge, while the earbuds themselves take about 55 minutes. The earbuds are also TÜV Rheinland-certified for battery health, with Oppo claiming more than 80% battery health after 1,000 charging cycles.

Verdict

The Oppo Enco Air 5 gets the important things right. The ANC is genuinely effective for its class, the sound is energetic and customizable, the earbuds are comfortable, and battery life is excellent. Features such as dual-device connectivity, Alive Audio, AI Translate, and low-latency gaming mode add meaningful value rather than simply padding the specification sheet.

The glossy earbuds and average mid-range performance are minor drawbacks, but they do little to undermine an otherwise polished package.

Insider Digital Chat Station has shared new details about the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max’s camera setup. According to the tipster, the phone could be the world’s first smartphone with three 200MP cameras for the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. The information matches earlier leaks about a triple 200MP camera system. 

The main camera is said to use Samsung’s new ISOCELL HPC sensor. Digital Chat Station says it is the industry’s only 200MP main camera with DeepPix ultra-high dynamic range. It has a 1/1.3-inch sensor and supports native 16-bit RAW output, which Samsung says is a first for smartphone CMOS sensors.

Oppo Find series product head Zhuo Shijie also shared Samsung’s announcement of the HPC sensor. He said Samsung’s new DeepPix pixel structure was developed together with Oppo’s imaging team. The technology offers high dynamic range with very high resolution without sacrificing one for the other.

Instead of relying on software to deal with this trade-off, DeepPix changes the pixel structure itself. Oppo says this can push single-frame dynamic range to as much as 17EV.

The extra HDR data will also be handled by Oppo’s new Pro XDR image pipeline. It was developed to process the larger amount of image information produced by these high-resolution sensors. The system is also designed to record full-resolution 4K HDR video while using less power.

Oppo’s upcoming Find X10 series will use Tianma’s new Tiangong Screen 2.0, a high-end OLED panel that puts more emphasis on eye comfort and low-brightness performance. The second-generation OLED panel was unveiled today at Tianma’s OLED technology event in Xiamen. 

The main change with the new screen is in the OLED materials themselves. Tiangong Screen 2.0 uses a new primary-color light-emitting material, which Tianma calls N1 primary-color spectrum material.

The company has made changes to the blue, green, and red parts of the OLED spectrum. For blue, it uses NFB fluorescent blue technology, which is designed to improve efficiency while reducing harmful blue light. Tianma says this increases luminous efficiency by 16% and extends the material’s lifespan by 33%.

For green, the panel uses PSF phosphorescence technology. Tianma says this improves luminous efficiency by 11% and increases the green color gamut by 6.7%.

The red component uses DRT deep red light technology. Tianma says it tested nearly 100 deep red light materials and carried out almost 700 sets of comparisons during development. The result is a higher proportion of deep red light in the panel’s output.

Together, these changes also alter the screen’s light spectrum. Tianma says harmful blue light makes up just 3.7% of the spectrum, while deep red light in the 650nm to 670nm range reaches 5.5%.

Color gamut and low-light 

The panel also offers native 95% coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut and a Delta E of below 0.6, targeting accurate and natural color reproduction. Tianma says brightness uniformity has also been improved, particularly at low brightness levels.

For low-light viewing, Tiangong Screen 2.0 uses Tianma’s AI De-Mura algorithm. The company says it improves low-brightness uniformity by 30% and allows the screen to reach as low as 0.01 nits while maintaining better brightness and color consistency.

Tianma has also worked on the panel’s TFT backplane to improve uniformity. The company claims the new screen has a 30% longer lifespan than the previous generation.

The display builds on Oppo’s work with low-brightness screens. The Find X9 series introduced a 1-nit low-light display, while the Find X10 series will bring the newer Tiangong Screen 2.0 technology.

The Find X10 series is expected to launch in September. Oppo has yet to reveal the full display specifications, including the screen size, resolution, refresh rate, and peak brightness.

The argument about flagship phones, or which is truly the best, has always been the same every year. Which one has the best camera? Which one lasts the longest? And, perhaps most importantly, which phone actually gives you a reason to upgrade?

The questions are the same in 2026, but there’s a new problem sitting around this year. Memory prices have gone up sharply, and so have the prices of smartphones. Xiaomi flat-out said that higher component has pushed the 17 Ultra price, while Samsung has reportedly been dealing with higher RAM costs from its own chip business.

You might expect that to make phone makers play it safe. And they likely will with all the flagships coming in September and beyond. For the time being, though, the top-end hardware is still priced relatively well, while offering the best of what they can.

So, if you’re already thinking about spending flagship money today, here are the best flagship phones that you can buy right now.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung is known for playing it safe with its flagship phones, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is no exception. It is built around the same formula we’ve seen in the previous Galaxy Ultras, but that’s not to say nothing is new here. 

It starts at $1,299.99 and gives you a huge 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s Gorilla Armor 2 on top, but the more interesting addition this year is Samsung’s Privacy Display.

The idea around privacy on a phone’s screen isn’t new. We’ve had privacy-focused tempered glass for years, but Samsung decided to ship it on the phone itself. And that too with exclusive customizations.

Samsung’s privacy screen changes the way the pixels work so the screen becomes much harder to see from the side while staying clear when you’re looking straight at it.

It’s one of those features that sounds like a gimmick until you actually use it. What’s more impressive is that you can even hide a part of the screen, like the notification island or messages.

The S26 Ultra also gets a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip made specifically for Galaxy phones. Samsung finally increased wired charging to 60W as well, which is a welcome change after years of sticking with 45W.

The battery, however, is still 5,000mAh. That’s the one area where Samsung hasn’t really kept up with some of its Chinese rivals, which are now putting 6,000mAh and even larger batteries into their flagships.

Still, the S26 Ultra is difficult to fault as an overall package. You get the 200MP main camera, multiple zoom options, the S Pen, Samsung DeX, a polished version of Android, and years of software support.

It may not be the most exciting phone in every category, but that’s exactly why it’s such an easy recommendation. It does almost everything well.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Oppo has been working with Hasselblad for a while now, but the Find X9 Ultra feels like the point where the partnership really starts to show.

This is also the first time Oppo has brought its Ultra flagship to global markets, and it has gone all-in on the cameras. There’s a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto, another 50MP periscope camera, and a 50MP ultrawide.

Yes, that’s a lot of megapixels. But the interesting part isn’t really the numbers. Oppo has worked the cameras into its Hasselblad Master Camera System, aiming for a more consistent look across the different lenses.

The rest of the phone doesn’t exactly feel like an afterthought either. There’s a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display running at 120Hz, while a massive 7,050mAh battery handles the power requirements. And when you finally do need to charge it, 100W wired charging gets the job done quickly.

The biggest question is whether you like ColorOS. It’s perfectly capable, but it can feel a little busier than the software on a Pixel or even a Samsung phone.

Then there’s the $1,499 starting price, which is a lot of money, but we also can’t factor out what it is offering in terms of hardware.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is another pick for camera nerds. Its main camera uses a 1-inch OmniVision sensor with LOFIC technology. It is designed to handle a wider range of brightness in difficult scenes. The 200MP periscope telephoto camera, developed with Leica as part of the companies’ deeper partnership, is another highlight here.

And this isn’t just a case of putting a Leica logo on the back. Leica has been involved in the camera’s development much earlier this time, including the design stage.

You can see where Xiaomi is going with this. The phone should be particularly good when you’re shooting after dark, zooming in on something far away, or dealing with scenes where the lighting is all over the place.

The hardware outside the cameras is flagship-grade too. There’s a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6,800mAh battery. Charging is rated at 90W wired and 80W wireless. It’s available in the UK for £1,299.

So, should you buy it? If taking photos is one of the main reasons you’re upgrading, absolutely. If you’re more interested in software, gaming, or the overall ecosystem, there are better choices here.

Google Pixel 11 Pro XL

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is Google’s newest flagship in the market. And unlike other options in this list, it’s not big on camera megapixels or processing power. Pixel phones have mostly been known for software polish and tricks, and the 11 Pro XL is just that. 

The phone starts at $1,299 for 256GB and comes with a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED display that can reach 3,600 nits of peak brightness.

Inside is Google’s Tensor G6 chip, along with a Titan M3 security chip. The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom.

As usual with a Pixel, the camera experience isn’t just about the hardware. Google’s image processing does a lot of the work, which is why Pixel phones can often produce great photos without asking you to think too much about the settings.

A novel camera feature this year is Magic Capture. It lets you record videos as you usually do, but once you’re finished, the phone presents you with candid images from those past moments. Google is using AI to refine photos, but it’s still a neat trick for everyone who struggles with poses in normal shoots. 

There is one slightly strange change this year. The Pro XL now starts with 12GB of RAM, down from 16GB on last year’s model. That’s not something most people are going to notice in everyday use, but it does show just how much rising memory costs are affecting flagship phones.

What hasn’t changed is Google’s seven-year software support. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is probably the easiest phone on this list to recommend to someone who just wants Android to stay out of the way and work.

iPhone 17 Pro Max

If you’re already deep into Apple’s ecosystem, you probably don’t need much convincing about the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It’s still the phone Apple wants you to buy when money isn’t the main concern.

The 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 for 256GB and comes with a redesigned aluminum unibody, a vapor chamber for better cooling, and Apple’s A19 Pro chip.

The 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display runs at up to 120Hz with ProMotion and can reach 3,000 nits outdoors. Apple has also added Ceramic Shield 2 and its new N1 wireless chip, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

The camera setup has three 48MP cameras covering the main, ultrawide, and telephoto ranges, with up to 8x zoom. Apple also claims up to 39 hours of video playback, which should make this one of the better options here for heavy users.

Charging has finally become a little less painful too. With Apple’s new 40W adapter, the phone can reach 50% in around 20 minutes.

Of course, the biggest reason to buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max isn’t any single specification. It’s the ecosystem. If you have a Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, or other Apple devices, everything simply works together.

The $1,199 starting price is still a lot, but if you’re already invested in Apple, the Pro Max is the obvious choice.

Which One Should You Actually Buy?

Here’s the simple version. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the one I’d recommend if you don’t have a specific weakness or preference. It’s the complete package, and features like the S Pen and DeX give it things the competition doesn’t really match.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is where I’d look first if the camera is the whole reason you’re upgrading. It isn’t cheap, but Oppo has clearly put a lot of work into making this a serious camera phone.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra makes more sense if you’re particularly interested in zoom and night photography. Its camera hardware is hard to ignore, although availability could be an issue depending on where you live.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is the easy choice for people who value clean software and long-term support. It’s also probably the least intimidating phone here if you just want something that works without a lot of tinkering.

And then there’s the iPhone 17 Pro Max. If you’re already using Apple products, there’s little reason to look elsewhere unless you specifically want Android.

Flagship phones have gotten expensive, and there’s no getting around that. In previous years, at least the price hikes came with real hardware improvements. The upcoming flagships are set to become more expensive, and AI is to blame. So if you’re thinking of getting a new flagship phone, it’s best not to wait. Rather, know your requirements and get the one that’s best for you.

Xiaomi has also added gesture controls that use EMG, IMU, and PPG sensors. Users can pinch, rub, snap, shake, or rotate their wrist to control functions such as calls, alarms, workouts, camera controls, and media playback.

The Xiaomi Watch 5 is a good option for Android users who want Wear OS features without charging their smartwatch every day.

Amazfit Active 2

At the same time, one of the Find X10 lineup devices has bagged 3C certification in China, indicating that it may go official as early as next month in the home market.

Oppo Reno 17 series to support telephoto extender

According to tipster Smart Pikachu, Oppo is evaluating bringing support for a telephoto extender to the Reno 17 family. As is known, the said optional accessory feature is currently restricted to the more premium Find X series, and now it appears that the brand may make it accessible to mid-premium phones.

At present, it is too early to conclude, and more concrete details about the Reno 17 series are expected to surface a couple of weeks after the Find X10 series’ launch.

Oppo Find X10 bags 3C certification

Earlier this month, two upcoming phones bearing model numbers PMX100 and PMW110, believed to be part of the Find X10 series, were approved by the SRRC for network access approval in China. Now, the PMW110 variant has appeared in the database of the 3C certification platform, indicating that it may ship with an 80W charger.

Reports suggest that Oppo may unveil the Find X10 series in September in China, which is around a month earlier than the previous generation. At present, there is no information about the global launch, but it may happen in October or November.

A new leak lists the phone makers currently working on wide-screen foldables — phones that open into a shorter, wider display instead of the usual tall shape. Tipster Digital Chat Station shared the details on Weibo.

Huawei is furthest along. It already sells the Pura X, which folds sideways into a wide display. It later added the Pura X Max, a larger version with newer hardware.

Samsung has also released a wide foldable. The redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a shorter, wider shape; meanwhile, the company is selling the tall book-style foldable under Z Fold 8 Ultra branding.

Brands likely to launch wide-screen foldables

Xiaomi hasn’t launched its version yet. But the company is working on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, and leaked images in fact show a 4:3 display, wider than the company’s past foldables. The device will ship with HyperOS 4 out of the box.

Apple is also preparing to enter the category, with its first model being the wide foldable itself. According to previous reports, the first foldable iPhone will feature a 7.6-inch inner screen and a smaller cover display, much like the same wide, book-style design as its rivals. The launch is expected around September.

Reportedly, Honor and Oppo are also working on wide-screen foldables. Honor’s foldable is said to be in testing with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip and a 7,000mAh battery. Oppo’s Find N7 is tipped for a Q1 2027 launch with a 6,500mAh battery. 

Word on the street is that Vivo is still to explore this category. 

None of these details are confirmed, and launch plans can change. But the leak shows how many companies are now working on this design. What started with one Huawei phone has turned into a format most major brands are building toward.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that Oppo has another 68-megapixel 1:1 square front camera in development. While he did not specify which exact model will feature it, he said that the sensor could reportedly be used in a slim, camera-focused smartphone expected to launch next year, although the specific model or brand has not been disclosed.

Recent reports have claimed that the Find X10 Ultra, which is expected to break cover in the first half of 2027, will be equipped with a 100-megapixel 1:1 square front camera. So, it appears that an Oppo phone launching after the X10 Ultra would be the likely candidate to feature it.

Therefore, the likely candidate to feature the 68-megapixel 1:1 selfie camera appears to be the Reno 18 series, which is expected to debut in May 2027. Since the expected launch is several months away, it is advised to wait for further reports to learn more about the Reno 18 lineup.

In related news, Oppo is reportedly working on the Find X10 lineup, and it might be aiming for a September launch in China. The series is expected to include three models, such as the Find X10, X10 Pro, and X10 Pro Max. After the X-series, the company is expected to announce the Reno 17 lineup in November.

Oppo has long been rumored to be working on a wide-screen phone, and a fresh leak today reveals its possible camera setup. 

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone is likely a flagship model with camera specs to back that up. It reportedly features a 200MP main sensor plus a periscope telephoto lens.

The tipster further adds in comments that the device could debut alongside the upcoming Find X10 series. The smartphone in question could be the Oppo Reno X, a wide-screen phone that’s previously been tipped to arrive alongside the Find X10 series later this year.

The former report already reveals some details about the display. It’s said to have a 6.3 to 6.4-inch flat screen with ultra-narrow bezels that match on all four sides, along with a 1.5K LTPO panel. But contrary to the new leak, it was tipped to feature a triple-camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.

It could be that Digital Chat Station is sharing revised parameters, but the word isn’t clear. For the record, though, we know that a wide-screen smartphone from Oppo could soon be a real thing. 

For a sense of what this phone might actually look like, the Huawei Pura X is a decent reference point. It’s a foldable with a 6.3-inch, 16:10 screen at 2120×1320 resolution, and it measures 143.2mm by 91.7mm by 7.15mm when unfolded. Oppo is exploring a similar design and dimensions, minus the fold. 

Huawei has said the wider aspect ratio helps with watching video, gaming, and browsing — you get more of the frame visible at once compared to a standard tall screen, whether that’s a movie, a game, or a page of photos.

None of this is confirmed by Oppo yet. And specs and timing can still shift before an official announcement.

India’s smartphone market is shipping fewer phones, but the money side of things is still growing. That’s the main takeaway from IDC’s latest numbers for the first half of 2026. Chinese brands that have long ruled the volume charts are taking the biggest hits, while Samsung and Apple are holding steady or even gaining ground.

Total shipments dropped 7.9% year-on-year in H1 to 64.2 million units, the lowest first-half figure in five years. Q2 was even softer, down 11.1% to 33.2 million units. Despite the lower volumes, market value actually rose 3.6%. Higher average selling prices are the reason, as brands pass on the increased costs of memory, storage and displays. Online discounts have also become harder to find, which has taken some of the shine off the big flash sales that used to drive a lot of volume.

Chinese brands have felt it the most. Vivo stayed on top but still saw shipments fall 13.9% in Q2, dropping its share to 18.4% from 19%. Xiaomi was down 10%, Oppo 8.5%, Realme 14.2% and Poco 12.3%. iQOO took a particularly rough hit with a 61% decline. These brands have traditionally relied on aggressive online promotions and strong budget-to-midrange line-ups, a formula that’s looking less effective as prices climb and buyers get pickier.

Samsung and Apple went the other way. Samsung’s shipments ticked up 0.4%, lifting its share to 16.4% from 14.5%. Apple grew 0.7% and moved to 8.5% share from 7.5%. On the value side Apple did even better, leading the market with a 27% revenue share after a 22.2% year-on-year jump. The iPhone 17 was the single best-selling model in both Q1 and Q2, even with supply constraints on several iPhone generations.

Looking ahead, IDC expects the second half of 2026 to stay tough. Shipments could fall more than 15% year-on-year, putting full-year volumes somewhere around 128-130 million units. The Indian market is starting to look a bit more like mature ones: longer replacement cycles, less automatic brand loyalty, and people still ready to spend, but only when they feel they’re getting clear value.

Brands that depend on pushing huge unit numbers are under pressure, while those with stronger pricing power and more premium offerings are better placed to handle the slowdown.

A 200MP sensor by itself doesn’t guarantee a good camera. What decides that is the lens attached to it, the size of individual pixels, and the processing that turns raw sensor data into a photo. Most of these phones don’t even shoot at 200MP by default because of what we call pixel binning. The latter is a camera technology that bins pixels together for a cleaner, but lower-resolution image and saves the full count for situations where you specifically want it, like heavy cropping or long-range zoom. 

With that out of the way, here are the best camera phones with 200MP sensors that you can get in 2026. 

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

If you want a 200MP camera phone without compromises on other aspects like software reliability or after-sales support, the Galaxy S26 Ultra from Samsung is the best pick. 

The phone uses an ISOCELL HP2 200MP sensor as its main unit, and interestingly, it’s the same lens that Samsung has been using since the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but with a bigger f/1.4 aperture instead of f/1.7. That’s the case for and against it. Samsung has been iterating on the same setup for a few years now, so you’re getting a known quantity rather than a leap. As we mentioned before, the phone bins 200MP down to 12.5MP or 50MP for most shots, but you can always switch to full 200MP in settings for more detailed shots. 

The rest of the camera lineup includes a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP periscope for 5x zoom, and a 3x telephoto. The S26 Ultra is best if you want reliable, predictable results and don’t want to think about which lens is doing what.

Vivo X300 Pro

Unlike Samsung, the X300 Pro uses a 200MP sensor behind the telephoto instead of the main camera. Telephoto is the one sensor I love playing with most, and a 200MP in it means it can capture great long-range shots.

The X300 Pro uses a 200MP Samsung ISCOELL HPB sensor at 1/1.4 inches for its 85mm periscope lens, which is actually larger than what most phones use on the main camera, let alone a zoom lens. As a result, the images can even hold up at 3.5x cropping without losing the scene details. Not to forget, the telephoto system also runs through Vivo’s own imaging chip for noise reduction and color processing.  

The main camera is a 50MP Sony sensor co-developed with Zeiss, and with gimbal-style stabilization. 

Vivo X300 Ultra

If the X300 Pro’s single 200MP sensor isn’t enough, Vivo has the X300 Ultra that uses a 200MP for both main and telephoto units. The main camera moves to a new Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, also 200MP and at 1/1.12 inches, one of the largest sensors currently used in a phone. The telephoto keeps a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor, now with a CIPA 7.0 stabilization rating, so you’re not trading main-camera resolution for zoom performance the way you are on the Pro.

You can even pair the X300 Ultra with an external teleconverter kit that effectively stretches the zoom range to 400mm. Most people won’t use it regularly, but it’s there if you photograph wildlife, sports, or anything else far away. 

Rounding out the setup is a 50MP ultrawide unit. This is the pick if you want high resolution everywhere rather than concentrated on one lens, and don’t mind paying the price difference over the Pro to get it.

Oppo Find X9 Pro

The raw hardware on the Find X9 Pro and the Find X9 Ultra rivals the X300 Pro and X300 Ultra, respectively — except in a few aspects. It’s the post-processing and camera tuning that makes them essentially different. 

The Find X9 Pro features a 200MP telephoto, with 3x optical zoom, f/2.1 aperture and Hasselblad tuning. In comparison, Vivo X300 Pro has a better zoom range at 3.7x, but it’s a deliberate choice that Oppo made with X9 Pro. The company is using the telephoto unit for macro shots too, as it can focus as close as 10cm. 

Moreover, Oppo says it’s using an active alignment process during assembly to keep the lens element calibrated, which the company says gives a modest resolution bump over standard manufacturing. This aside, both the main and ultrawide camera are 50MP in resolution. 

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Moving to the Find X9 Ultra, it has 200MP sensors on two units — main and 3x telephoto. Plus, you get a 50MP ultrawide and a separate 50MP telephoto for 10x optical zoom. This is the most stacked camera phone in this list, and ensures that you have high-resolution photos at both close range and distance. 

The main sensor measures 1/1.12 inches, among the largest currently used in a phone, paired with an f/1.5 aperture. The second 200MP camera in telephoto is tuned specifically for portraits, which plays to what a larger sensor does well — softer background separation from the hardware itself. 

Oppo also has an accessory kit with a screw-on teleconverter and a grip attachment for those who want to treat their phone like a dedicated camera body. It’s a niche add-on, nonetheless, best for those who are extremely passionate about photography. Because after all, it’s going to cost you a few hundred extra dollars.

Which one should you actually get?

If you just want a capable camera and don’t want to think about it, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the safe choice. If zoom is your priority, the Vivo X300 Pro or X300 Ultra will get you further with less loss of quality. 

If you shoot a lot of portraits or close-up detail shots, the Find X9 Pro’s telephoto is built specifically for that. And if you want one phone that covers all of it without an obvious weak point, the Find X9 Ultra is the closest thing to a complete setup.

Whichever one you pick, don’t choose based on the 200MP label alone. Check where the sensor is — main camera or telephoto — since that tells you more about what the phone is actually good at than the megapixel count ever will.

Oppo has quietly raised prices on a bunch of its popular K14 and A6 phones in India again. Several variants are now up by as much as ₹2,000, and this isn’t the first time. A few of these models have already been hiked more than once, so some phones are noticeably more expensive than when they first launched.

The latest changes cover the K14x, regular K14, A6c 4G, A6, and A6 Pro. On the K14x, the 4GB + 64GB version is now ₹17,999 (was ₹16,999), the 4GB + 128GB is ₹19,999 (from ₹18,999), and the 6GB + 128GB sits at ₹22,999 (up from ₹20,999). The standard K14 follows the same pattern: 6GB + 128GB moves to ₹23,999, 6GB + 256GB to ₹25,999, and 8GB + 256GB to ₹28,999.

That said, not every listing has caught up yet. The K14x 4GB + 128GB is still showing up at ₹18,499 or ₹18,999 on Amazon depending on the seller, even though Flipkart has already moved to the new price. The 6GB + 128GB variant is still floating around the ₹20,000 mark on both Amazon and Flipkart in some places. Similar older deals are still hanging around for the K14 6GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB on Amazon right now, while the top configuration already seems to have been updated.

In the A6 series, the A6c 4G jumps to ₹16,999 for the 4GB + 64GB and ₹18,999 for the 4GB + 128GB. The regular A6 sees its 4GB + 128GB at ₹26,999, 6GB + 128GB at ₹28,999, and 6GB + 256GB at ₹31,999. The A6 Pro lands at ₹32,999 (8GB + 128GB) and ₹35,999 (8GB + 256GB).

Same situation here: a few of these are still available at the previous prices on Amazon as of writing. If you’re eyeing one of these models, it might be worth checking the listings sooner rather than later before the older stocks disappear.

The price increase has been happening in stages. The K14x base model started at ₹15,999, went to ₹16,999, and is now ₹17,999 after hikes in April and July. The K14 has climbed from its earlier ₹19,999 level as well. The A6 Pro has been through at least three increases since it launched around the low ₹20,000s in March, adding up to roughly ₹8,000–₹11,000 more depending on the variant, all without any hardware changes. The A6c and A6 have seen similar stepwise jumps.

Rumors of a big collaboration between two major smartphone brands on a new imaging product have been pretty firmly shut down.

Oppo and Vivo have both explicitly denied online reports that claimed they had finalized a strategic partnership to jointly develop and launch a pocket gimbal camera sharing all their core imaging tech. In statements to Nandu Bay Finance (via ITHome), both companies said no joint R&D agreement has been reached and there are currently no plans to co-launch anything like that.

The denial comes at a time when the handheld gimbal camera category is growing fast. Industry data shows global shipments of handheld smart cameras topped 16 million units in 2025, more than an 80% jump year-on-year. DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 alone has passed 10 million cumulative sales since it launched in October 2023, with 5 million sold in 2024 and nearly 20 billion yuan in revenue. That kind of potential has attracted new players. Inspiron released its Luna Ultra handheld gimbal camera in June, while DJI brought out the dual-main-camera Osmo Pocket 4P around the same time.

Both Oppo and Vivo have been working on their own projects independently. At the start of the year, Vivo confirmed that it kicked off an internal Vlog camera project at the end of 2025 and put together a team of more than 200 people. Separate reports say Oppo has also started its own gimbal camera project, with an expected launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Honor is also looking into similar devices through an ODM route.

With everyone moving in parallel and competition heating up, speculation about a formal Oppo-Vivo partnership started floating around. The official responses make it clear that nothing of the sort has actually happened. Instead, the two companies seem to be pushing ahead with their own efforts separately.

If you’ve exercised while watching a fitness tracker, you’ve probably seen it tell you to stay in a fat-burning zone. Oppo is changing how that zone gets calculated with a new mode called FatMax. The feature calculates your own fat-burning heart rate range instead of giving everyone the same generic range.

A fat-burning zone is a heart rate range where your body relies more on stored fat for energy, rather than burning through carbs first. Staying in that range during a workout is meant to make fat loss more efficient.

Most watches calculate your fat-burning zone with a basic formula: 220 minus your age, then 60 to 70 percent of that number. It’s an easy formula, but it doesn’t account for individual differences. Two people the same age can have very different fitness levels, so the same heart rate zone doesn’t make sense for both of them.

Oppo’s FatMax is making its debut in Oppo Watch S2

FatMax has its own new way of calculating this. It uses your height, weight, age, gender, and current exercise level, then runs the data through Oppo’s own health algorithm to determine your specific fat-burning zone. The longer you wear the watch, the more it adjusts and refines that number based on your actual activity.

Li Sheng, who leads Oppo’s health product business, said the goal is to make fat burning something you can actually track, rather than an abstract target. While exercising, you can see your fat-burning grams update in real time. Oppo demonstrated this at an event in Shenzhen called the “Burning Party,” where people tried the feature while jogging.

FatMax will launch alongside the Oppo Watch S2 in September. It follows other recent health-focused updates from the company, including the Oppo Watch X3’s blood pressure and ECG tracking and the Oppo Watch S’s AI-based coaching tools.

Alongside FatMax, Oppo also announced a “Smart Track” feature, built with Beijing Sport University. It automatically records pace and time as you run and provides guidance based on that data afterward.

According to the aforementioned publication, a tweaked version of the device will be rebranded as the Oppo F35 Pro in India. It also claims that the device will go official by the end of this month, succeeding the F33 Pro, which was announced in April this year.

The report also mentions that, with a price tag of around Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000, the F35 Pro will rival the likes of the Vivo S2, Motorola Edge 70 Pro, and OnePlus Nord CE 6. It does not specify what changes the F35 Pro will bring compared to the A7 Pro Max.

Oppo has shared another teaser for the upcoming A7 Pro Max, revealing more details about its camera hardware ahead of its official debut in China. The latest announcement focuses on the phone’s imaging capabilities while also giving a closer look at its design and official camera samples.

According to Oppo, the A7 Pro Max will feature what it calls the most advanced imaging system in the history of the A series. The smartphone comes with 50-megapixel front and rear cameras, making it one of the few devices in its segment to offer high-resolution sensors on both sides.

The front camera also supports a 100-degree ultra-wide field of view, allowing more people to fit into group selfies. At the back, the phone includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor, and a new intelligent flash system designed to improve portraits and low-light photography. Oppo has also published official camera samples that highlight the phone’s daylight and portrait performance.

The company has already confirmed several other specifications ahead of launch. The Oppo A7 Pro Max will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor.

It also becomes Oppo’s first smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery, paired with 80W fast charging. The handset runs ColorOS 16 and has passed Oppo’s 72-month ageing smoothness test, with software optimisations that reduce memory usage during startup and everyday operation.

Around this time each year, we handpick a handful of standout smartphones to gauge how the market has performed over the first two quarters. Since next‑gen flagship chips usually arrive in the second half, the opening months tend to be a relatively quiet stretch for most brands — but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth talking about.

Best Camera: OPPO Find X9 Ultra

It does not imply a shortage of commendable devices. A prime example is our most highly recommended camera-centric smartphone: the OPPO Find X9 Ultra.

The imaging prowess of the Find X9 Ultra is widely acknowledged. It stands as one of only two flagship smartphones to incorporate a four-focal-length imaging system. In my assessment, it features the most sophisticated telephoto camera configuration ever integrated into a mobile device—both in terms of sensor selection and focal-length coverage. Coupled with Hasselblad’s color calibration, it has unequivocally become one of my preferred handsets this year.

That said, it is not without imperfections. The 10x telephoto module exhibits noticeable chromatic aberration, and video stabilization remains an area requiring refinement. Nevertheless, when compared to a more conservative yet reliably competent contender like the vivo X300 Ultra, the review team leans toward the device with greater distinctiveness.

The X300 Ultra is objectively a commendable smartphone, but its 2026 iteration felt overly restrained in its approach. The absence of a refreshing novelty is the sole factor, in my view, that places it behind the Find X9 Ultra. Naturally, this reflects my subjective perspective; should one regard the vivo X300 Ultra as the premier camera phone of the year, I fully respect that position.

The Find X9 Ultra is undeniably excellent, yet its pricing is prohibitively steep. Consequently, the question arises: is there a more cost-effective camera-centric alternative? Indeed, there is—the HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max.

Leading Smart Imaging Experience: HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max

HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max deserves a special mention — not just for the hardware integration, but more importantly, for what it can further do on final imaging. The Asia‑Pacific variant we received comes packed with AI De‑Glare, AI Move, and AI Composition 3.0, which automatically frames your shots as you capture them. Celia and the Advanced Translation Toolkit are also onboard.

While other manufacturers are aggressively fighting spec wars, HUAWEI has been strategically doubling down on the AI experience—a focus the team finds particularly commendable. The Pura 90s Pro Max doesn’t hold back on hardware either. Its RYYB sensor yields outstanding low-light output, and the telephoto video recording sharpness is particularly noteworthy.

The review team initially planned to give this recognition to the Pura 90 Pro Max — the Chinese version. But HUAWEI did something unusual this time: it didn’t cut corners on the international version. The two models are essentially identical. So, despite the slightly later launch, I’m giving the nod to the Pura 90s Pro Max — simply because it’s the more readily accessible option for most of our audience.

The 200MP telephoto camera, built on an RYYB sensor, offers improved light sensitivity for long‑range shots, while the telephoto video recording now benefits from enhanced stabilisation and a dedicated far‑field voice enhancement algorithm—useful for capturing distant subjects with clearer audio. The XMAGE AI Smart Capture streamlines the editing workflow by providing one‑tap suggestions for composition, colour, and exposure adjustments. The new 3D dynamic photo feature adds a subtle depth effect to still images, giving them a more lifelike feel without requiring manual post‑processing. When taken together, these improvements offer a tangible step forward in smartphone imaging, and they work consistently across both the Chinese and Asia‑Pacific versions—making the Pura 90s Pro Max a well‑rounded choice for users who prioritise camera versatility and AI‑assisted creativity.

Best Gaming Phone: REDMI K90 Max

Typically, the “Best Gaming Phone” accolade would automatically be assigned to RedMagic. On this occasion, however, we wish to confer it upon the REDMI K90 Max, for two primary reasons. First, the K90 Max is more affordable; it incorporates a built-in cooling fan, is lighter and slimmer, yet retails at merely half the price of the RedMagic 11S Pro.

Second, its frame-interpolation functionality sets it apart. On most smartphones, frame interpolation is restricted to a whitelist of supported games. The K90 Max, in contrast, enables this feature across all titles without limitation. After extensive testing across multiple games, its performance consistently met expectations. The review team can confidently assert that this currently represents the most worthwhile gaming smartphone available, without reservation.

Naturally, this accolade could equally be awarded to its sibling model, the K90 Ultra. The decision between the two ultimately hinges on whether the user prioritizes enhanced performance or a $60 cost saving.

Best Foldable: HUAWEI Pura X Max

Although our comprehensive review of the HUAWEI Pura X Max has not yet been published, this does not preclude me from designating it as the “Best Foldable.” =

In fact, commencing with last year’s Pura X, HUAWEI had already initiated experimentation with wider aspect ratios to prevent the display from awkwardly assuming a square form upon unfolding. This year’s Pura X Max adopts a √2:1 aspect ratio, ensuring that the device maintains a consistent screen proportion whether folded or unfolded. This represents HUAWEI’s definitive resolution to the foldable-screen ratio challenge.

The Pura X Max’s robust sales performance in the Chinese market further substantiates its entitlement to the title of best foldable phone for the first half of 2026.

Best Flagship Killer: OnePlus 15T

For those seeking a flagship-grade device without a correspondingly steep price, the OnePlus 15T may prove an ideal candidate. Apart from the absence of an ultra-wide-angle camera and the somewhat inconvenient USB 2.0 port, this handset is nearly faultless.

It is equipped with the 8 Elite Gen5 platform, a 165Hz display, a substantial 7,500mAh battery, and wireless charging support. For enthusiasts of compact 6.3-inch smartphones operating within constrained budgets, this device is virtually tailor-made.

Incidentally, for those who prefer a conventionally sized smartphone, the iQOO 15T merits consideration. Its market positioning closely parallels that of the OnePlus 15T—both devices compromise on camera performance to maintain competitive pricing. Ultimately, the choice reduces to individual preference, with no unequivocally superior option between the two.

To be candid, the first half of 2026 lacked considerable excitement. Most of the noteworthy activity stemmed from flagship camera phones competing for dominance, while the majority of mid-range and entry-level devices are slated for release in the latter half of the year.

Among all offerings observed in Q1 and Q2, the most strategic maneuver was arguably HUAWEI’s decision to maintain price stability. This approach proved remarkably successful, enabling the company to achieve substantial profitability in the premium smartphone segment and securing two “Best” titles in this roundup.

With the next generation of flagship chipsets anticipated in September, most 8 Elite Gen5 and Dimensity 9500 devices are already undergoing price reductions to clear inventory. Therefore, for those seeking cost savings, the present moment presents an opportune time for acquisition.

The biggest highlight of the upcoming smartphone is its massive battery, which is set to be the largest ever on an Oppo phone. Today, the company confirmed the device’s launch date, while also sharing a few more details about its design.

The Oppo A7 Pro Max will launch on August 4 as the brand’s first smartphone to feature a 10,000mAh battery. The pre-order listing confirms that the handset will come in three shades, such as black, orange, and gradient white. It will be sold in variants, such as 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB.

Oppo is positioning the handset as a “next-generation durability legend” and claims the battery is designed to retain long-term performance for up to seven years. The phone will also support 80W wired fast charging, helping reduce charging times despite the large battery capacity.

To keep the device relatively slim, Oppo has adopted a silicon-carbon anode single-cell battery design instead of the conventional dual-cell approach. According to the company, this reduces the space required for internal wiring and power management components. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra, packing dual 200-megapixel Hasselblad-tuned sensors, just went through DxOMark’s full testing and came away with a solid, but not quite chart-topping, result.

It scored 170 points, which puts it in third place overall. That’s five points behind the current leader, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, and tied with the Vivo X300 Ultra. Even with all that sophisticated camera gear, Oppo didn’t quite claim the top spot.

The Find X9 Ultra runs a versatile quad-camera setup: a 200 MP f/1.5 main camera with a big 1/1.12-inch sensor, a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide on a 1/1.95-inch sensor, a 200 MP f/2.2 periscope telephoto (70 mm equivalent, 1/1.28-inch sensor), and a 50 MP f/3.5 periscope that gives you 10x optical zoom at 230 mm (1/2.75-inch sensor). Those large sensors plus Hasselblad’s color science helped it score well for accurate colors in good light, low noise, and a strong portrait mode.

Where it falls short

DxOMark found a few weak spots. Because the main camera doesn’t have a variable aperture, it can struggle to keep everything in focus during group portraits when the background is busy. Oppo’s AI sometimes tries a little too hard to recover detail and ends up looking unnatural.

Noise reduction also gets messy when there are lights in the background, leaving visible grain. In low light the images often run a bit warm, and artificial lighting can throw the white balance off. The 70 mm and 230 mm telephotos capture plenty of detail, but the intermediate 135 mm range lags behind rivals, even though phones like the Vivo X300 Ultra also lean on digital zoom in that same middle ground.

The Find X9 Ultra had already earned plenty of praise in general reviews for how capable it is overall. The camera scores just underline the same point: big sensors and big brand partnerships aren’t enough on their own. Software processing, consistency across different situations, and how well the computational photography is tuned still decide who comes out on top.

Still, DxOMark’s findings keep it firmly in the elite group. A 170-point score is excellent in a lot of conditions. Future software updates could clean up some of the issues DxOMark flagged and maybe close that gap on a retest. For now, the Find X9 Ultra is a seriously strong imaging phone that just doesn’t quite reach the absolute peak.

Now, another Oppo device with model number PYE110 has appeared in TENAA’s database, revealing its core specifications. A recent Weibo post by tipster Bald Panda suggests that it could belong to the Oppo A7 series.

For photography, the smartphone is listed with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel rear camera. The design of the device remains unknown, as its images have not yet appeared in TENAA’s database.

The Oppo PYE110 is powered by an unidentified 2.4GHz chipset. It will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, along with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. The device packs a rated battery capacity of 7,820mAh, which is expected to translate to a typical capacity of 8,000mAh.

The listing also confirms support for an IR blaster. The handset measures 159.1 x 75.8 x 8.8mm and weighs approximately 206 grams.
