Realme 9i 5G Android 13 x Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta goes live

Realme recently released the Android 13-based Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta builds for Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro+. And now, the Realme 9i is also receiving the Open Beta program.

The Open Beta program is specifically for Indian users of the Realme 9i. To participate in the open beta testing of Android 13 on the Realme 9i, users need to make sure that their devices are running version RMX3612_11.C.03 or above.

Those meeting the criteria can head over to Settings > Software Update > Tap on the settings icon in the top right corner > Trial Version > Submit your details > Apply Now to apply for the Realme 9i 5G Android 13 Open Beta program. As it is an Open Beta program, you will most likely receive the update in a few days to try out Android 13 if your device meets the requirements. Additionally, Realme 9i 5G users that are on Android 13 Early Access are exempt from applying for this program.

In the event that they receive the Android 13 update, Realme has encouraged consumers to make a backup of their crucial data. In addition, the company has advised customers to check that they have at least 5GB of free internal storage and 60% of their battery before installing the Android 13 Open Beta firmware. Note that users who have rooted their devices are ineligible to participate in the program.

As it is a Beta build, and therefore can have stability issues and bugs, we recommend readers avoid installing it on their primary devices. In case you are unhappy with the Android 13 build and wish to go back to Android 12, Realme has also provided users the option to do so.

Realme has launched a new budget range 5G smartphone in the Indian market called the Realme 9i 5G. So let’s check out its specs, features, pricing & other details.

The 9i 5G comes with an attractive design featuring a flat back and flat edges, It has a clean-looking triple camera setup protruding from the back panel. The back panel also features a special light diffusion design called the Laser light design. It has a power button on the right side that integrates a fingerprint sensor, a volume rocker on the left side and a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a speaker grille at the bottom. It is 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 187 grams.

On the front, it features a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The panel is capable of producing 16.7 million different colors. It has a dew-drop notch for the front camera, thin bezels on three sides, and a sizable chin.

Under the hood, the device features the Dimensity 810 5G chipset complemented by 4GB of 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The phone offers storage expansion of up to 1TB using a microSD card and RAM expansion of up to 5GB using the virtual RAM feature. The device comes with an Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box. It has a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 18W fast charging.

Coming to optics, the smartphone has a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 4cm 2MP macro lens, and a depth sensor. Up front, it has an 8MP selfie camera. The device offers street photography mode 2.0 and an AI beauty filter.

Realme 9i 5G has been spotted on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) database ahead of the August 18 launch. The smartphone was earlier tipped to feature a 6.6-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to come with a triple rear camera setup, a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, 18W fast charging, and much more.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, Realme 9i 5G has been spotted on the Thailand NBTC database with the model number RMX3612. The listing has confirmed the moniker of the upcoming Realme smartphone. Realme 9i 5G can be seen as approved by the NBTC. Along with the name, the listing has also suggested that the handset is going to be a 5G device with support for GSM/WCDMA/LTE network.

The Realme 9i 5G launch is just around the corner. However, prior to the official announcement on August 18, the company has shared a new teaser that confirms some of its key specifications.

For those unaware, the Chinese smartphone maker had recently confirmed that its upcoming smartphone will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. Now, the brand has revealed that the Realme 9i 5G will sport a waterdrop notch display that will have a 90Hz high refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The company also revealed that the new handset will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that is charged through a USB Type C port.

While Realme has yet to reveal finer details regarding the smartphone, we have earlier reports for some of its other specifications. Realme has announced that it will launch the Realme 9i 5G smartphone in India on August 18th. The brand has already teased the design of the device along with some of its specifications.

Now, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has revealed the complete renders and color options of the Realme 9i 5G. So, let’s take a look.

Looking at the design, the device has a flat back panel with a triple camera setup at the back and a laser light design. The device also has flat edges. On the right side, it has a power button that appears to have an integrated fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker is likely on the left side. The tipster reveals two color options namely Black & Gold.

Up front, the smartphone has slim bezels going around the display and it features quite a sizable chin. Another revelation is the front camera module which is housed in a dew-drop notch. So far, the only thing confirmed about the smartphone is that it will feature a Dimensity 810 chipset.

Coming to rumors, the device is reported to come in 4GB or 6GB RAM variants and 64GB or 128GB. It is also rumored to launch with a large 5,000mAh battery pack as well.

There are going to be at least 17 new phone releases this month. It is worth noting that some of them are already official handsets making their way to India.

The Realme 9i 5G will launch on August 18 and the smartphone will be powered by the Dimensity 810 chipset. The Realme 9i was launched back in January 2022 and it was equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chipset. The 9i 5G is certainly an improved version of the base model and it has 5G network capability. Realme India expects the 9i 5G to arrive on the subcontinent with a bang. The Realme 9i 5G will retail within the Rs. 10,000 ($126) and Rs. 15,000 ($190) price band. Realme is planning on launching a number of new products in India soon like the GT Neo 3T and the Pad X. However, a new report has revealed that the company is also planning on launching the Realme 9i as well later this month.

According to a 91Mobiles report, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning on announcing the 9i model in the Indian market later this month (June 2022). Furthermore, the new report also revealed that the upcoming smartphone will arrive in multiple color variants as well as its storage configurations as well. Talking about colors first, the handset will be reportedly be available in Blue, Gold, and Black options.

Talking about its configurations, it will come with 4GB of RAM that is paired with up to 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The top end model will have it house 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Notably, the 9i 5G model is expected to feature slightly improved specifications over its 4G counterpart. It is also rumored to launch with a large 5,000mAh battery pack as well.

Other possible features includes, a fast refresh rate display and a triple camera setup on the rear. Unfortunately, this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt for now.
