Realme has been active with its launch cycles in 2021, which also had the introduction of its flagship Realme GT. Now, a company executive has revealed that the upcoming new devices within the Q series will arrive with a balance between performance and price.

According to Wang Wei, vice president of the Chinese tech giant and president of the global product line, the company’s premium grade handset has seen success with its customers. It offers top notch specs and features and offers great performance, albeit at a higher price than its usual mid range handsets. But, the company is also planning on launching new Q series of smartphones, which would not be as powerful as the GT, but would still offer a “balance of performance and price.”

The senior official further added that the smartphone maker is hoping to satisfy everyone’s expectation through the launch combination of both the GT and Q product lineup. THe former would target the higher end premium segments while the latter can range from more budget friendly to even mid range segments. Wang Wei also said that only the GT series of devices will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processors for now.

Furthermore, he did state that there will also be a handset launching with a Snapdragon 870 processor, which might be something to look forward to considering that particular chipset has been recently spotted in certain relatively affordable flagship smartphones. This year, Realme launched a couple of Realme X-series and V-series of smartphones in China. It is expected to introduce a new series of smartphones soon. Last year, the Chinese firm also sold a phone named Realme Q, which arrived as a rebranded version of the Realme 5 Prov that debuted in India. Rumors have it that the Realme RMX2117 recently appeared with preliminary specs in the database of the TENAA is the next Q-series smartphone from the brand. The TENAA listing of the Realme RMX2117 phone has now been updated with its full specifications and images.

Realme RMX2117 specifications

The Realme RMX2117 is a 5G smartphone that features a 6.5-inch display that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. It draws power from an octa-core processor that ticks at 2.4GHz.

In China, the new Realme Q phone may arrive in RAM options like 4 GB, 6 GB and 8 GB. It could be available in storage choices such as 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. There is a microSD card slot onboard for additional storage.

The Realme RMX2117 has a rated battery of 4,900mAh capacity. The handset is preinstalled with Android 10 OS. It has a selfie snapper of 16-megapixel. The backside of the phone has a rectangle-shaped camera module that includes a 48-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor.

A fingerprint scanner seems to be embedded under the power button on the right edge of the RMX2117 smartphone. The left spine of the phone features a volume rocker. The dimensions of the smartphone are 162.2 x 75.1 x 9.1mm and it weighs 194 grams. The handset is expected to arrive in color options like silver, blue, black, and gray in the homeland.

Since the Realme RMX2117 is now TENAA certified, it is likely to debut soon. Hopefully, upcoming reports will reveal the final product name of the device.

Realme had released its roadmap on releasing Android 10 update for India in mid-September. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has released its roadmap for releasing Android 10 update for users in China. The Android 10 update rollout will begin in the home market starting from January 2020.

While Realme has been launching phones in India since last year, it entered the home market in this year. The Realme X and Realme X Lite were the first Realme phones to launch in China. Later on, it released other phones such as Realme Q, Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro. The Realme X Lite is the rebranded version of the Realme 3 Pro whereas the Realme Q is the rebadged edition of Realme 5 Pro.

As the above screengrab reveals, the Realme X Lite, Realme X and Realme Q will be treated with Android 10 update in China in the first quarter of 2020. In Q2 2020, the Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro will be provided with Android 10 update.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has recently confirmed that Realme will be having a custom-made version of the upcoming ColorOS 7. It will made to deliver stock Android experience. There is no confirmation on whether the Android 10 update for Realme devices will also bring along the latest ColorOS 7 UI.

In India, the Realme 3 Pro, Realme 5 Pro, Realme X and Realme XT phones will get Android 10 in Q1 2020. Th Realme 3, Realme 3i and Realme 5 will receive it in Q2 and the Realme 2 Pro will be provided with the Android upgrade in Q3. Since the Android 10 update for Realme phones will begin in 2020 in China and India, there is a possibility that the company will also release ColorOS 7 flavored Android upgrade. There is a possibility that the company will start with the beta testing of ColorOS 7 before releasing its stable version. However, it is advisable to wait for official confirmation on it.

Realme has today finally launched the Realme Q smartphone in China, after weeks of teasing its features. As expected, the smartphone has turned out to be a re-branded model of the Realme 5 Pro that was recently launched in India.

After teasing the Realme Q smartphone for a few weeks, the Oppo-backed company has today finally launched it in its home country China. As expected, the Realme Q is a re-branded model of the Realme 5 Pro smartphone that was launched in India last month featuring a quad-camera setup.

Realme has released several teasers for the Realme Q recently that there’s not much we don’t know about device. We know the chipset it’ll come with, we know the camera specifications, we even know the battery size. But today’s teaser shows us something we didn’t know, that being the device’s design.

Now, Realme have always played around with patterns and designs when it comes to their devices. Their first device, the original Realme 1 came with a diamond pattern that helped it stand out from the pack of mid-rangers. Now, the new Realme continues the tradition with a different pattern combined with a nice gradient finish.

Outside of this, the teaser doesn’t really reveal anything we don’t already. Realme’s own Xi Qi Chase has already confirmed that the Realme Q will possess a 4035 mAH battery with 20W VOOC fast-charging capabilities. We also know that the new Realme device will be powered by the Snapdragon 712 processor, just like the Realme 5.

The smartphone will be run on Oppo’s ColorOS 6, based on the Android 9 Pie operating system. Realme is allegedly developing their own offshoot Android skin based Android Q, but it is not ready for launch yet. It’s possible that the Realme Q may come with this brand new UI, but it’s not likely considering the ETA for the new UI is the end of the year.

The hands-on images of Realme Q leaked last week confirmed the same. While the company has teased a few specs and features of the upcoming phone, the company’s CMO has now revealed more details on Weibo.

He has now confirmed that the smartphone will come powered by a 4035mAh battery that will carry support for 20W VOOC fast charging technology and the battery will be charged via USB Type-C port. Further, he has revealed that the phone will come with UFS 2.1 high-speed flash memory.

The company has already confirmed that the phone will come with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary camera sensor on the back in the quad-camera setup. Further, it has also been confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 712 processor, same as the Realme 5 Pro.

There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. The phone will be running Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 on top. For complete list of specifications, as well as the phone’s pricing and availability information, we’ll have to wait until the company officially launches it later this week.

The company currently has two phones in China — Realme X and X Lite. While the Realme X was first launched in China featuring a pop-up front camera, the X Lite is a re-branded version of Realme 3 Pro for the Chinese market.

Realme China recently teased that it will be revealing information on the upcoming smartphone in this week. A couple of days back the company hinted that it would hold an unveil event on September 5. It has now been confirmed that the company will launch the Realme 5 Pro smartphone in China on that day. However, the device will bear a different moniker – Realme Q.

This was revealed recently via a Weibo post by the company’s CMO Xu Qi Chase who confirmed the upcoming Q series will launch with four phones in its portfolio. Right now, Realme has officially released a teaser showing the rear design of the device. The device visibly packs a quad-camera setup with the teaser pointing to a 48MP main sensor. The device is also teased to pack a Snapdragon 712 chipset. There is also an indication that the device will likely have a price tag in the triple-digit region, likely 999 yuan (~$140).

A couple of hand-on pictures of the phone has also appeared on Weibo showing the device in all its glory. The pictures reaffirm it is indeed the Realme 5 Pro. Yesterday, Realme announced that it is hosting a launch event in China on 5th September where the company will unveil its new Realme Q series smartphones, featuring quad-camera setup on the back.

While the company had not revealed much more about this upcoming smartphone lineup, it has now revealed the chipset powering the device. In a new post on Weibo today, Realme revealed that the Realme Q will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC.

It is being speculated that the Realme Q-series could be the rebranded version of the Realme 5-series smartphones launched in India last week. The Realme 5 Pro was also recently certified by TENAA, indicating that it’s coming to China for sure, but could have a different name.

The Realme 5 comes powered by Snapdragon 665 SoC while the 5 Pro packs Snapdragon 712 chipset. The upcoming Realme XT with 64MP quad-camera setup is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 AIE chipset.

Coming to the specifications, while the Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, the 5 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display, both featuring a waterdrop notch. Both the smartphones run ColorOS 6.0 on top based on Android 9 Pie operating system.
