Now, a company executive has revealed that the upcoming new devices within the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme-q/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Q series</a> will arrive with a balance between performance and price.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-383656 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Screenshot-5.png?x10805" alt="Realme" width="596" height="314" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Screenshot-5.png 596w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Screenshot-5-300x158.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px" /></p>
<p>According to Wang Wei, vice president of the Chinese tech giant and president of the global product line, the company&#8217;s premium grade handset has seen success with its customers. It offers top notch specs and features and offers great performance, albeit at a higher price than its usual mid range handsets. But, the company is also planning on launching new Q series of smartphones, which would not be as powerful as the GT, but would still offer a &#8220;balance of performance and price.&#8221;</p>
<p>The senior official further added that the smartphone maker is hoping to satisfy everyone&#8217;s expectation through the launch combination of both the GT and Q product lineup. THe former would target the higher end premium segments while the latter can range from more budget friendly to even mid range segments. Wang Wei also said that only the GT series of devices will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processors for now.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-358605 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Realme-Q2-Pro-New-Color-Variants-.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme" width="690" height="465" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Realme-Q2-Pro-New-Color-Variants-.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Realme-Q2-Pro-New-Color-Variants--300x202.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Realme-Q2-Pro-New-Color-Variants--623x420.jpg 623w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, he did state that there will also be a handset launching with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-870/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 870</a> processor, which might be something to look forward to considering that particular chipset has been recently spotted in certain relatively affordable flagship smartphones. So stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.</p>

<p>Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has recently confirmed that Realme will be having a custom-made version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/24/realme-smartphones-exclusive-custom-coloros-7/">upcoming ColorOS 7</a>. It will made to deliver stock Android experience. The only smartphone that has been treated with ColorOS 7 is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-10x-zoom">OPPO Reno 10x Zoom</a>. There is no confirmation on whether the Android 10 update for Realme devices will also bring along the latest ColorOS 7 UI.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/13/realme-releases-their-android-10-update-roadmap-with-notable-exceptions/">In India</a>, the Realme 3 Pro, Realme 5 Pro, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-x">Realme X</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-xt">Realme XT</a> phones will get Android 10 in Q1 2020. Th <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-3/">Realme 3</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-3i">Realme 3i</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-5">Realme 5</a> will receive it in Q2 and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-2-pro">Realme 2 Pro</a> will be provided with the Android upgrade in Q3. Realme has said that it plans to roll out Android 10 update to all its devices by the end of 2020. However, the Android 10 roadmap list for India did not include phones like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-realme-1/">Realme 1</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-2/">Realme 2</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-c1">Realme C1</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-c1-2019/">Realme C1 2019</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-c2">Realme C2</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-u1/">Realme U1</a>.</p>
<p>Since the Android 10 update for Realme phones will begin in 2020 in China and India, there is a possibility that the company will also release ColorOS 7 flavored Android upgrade. There is a possibility that the company will start with the beta testing of ColorOS 7 before releasing its stable version. However, it is advisable to wait for official confirmation on it.</p>

We know the chipset it&#8217;ll come with, we know the camera specifications, we even know the battery size. But today&#8217;s teaser shows us something we didn&#8217;t know, that being the device&#8217;s design.</p>
<p>Now, Realme have always played around with patterns and designs when it comes to their devices. Their first device, the original Realme 1 came with a diamond pattern that helped it stand out from the pack of mid-rangers. Now, the new Realme continues the tradition with a different pattern combined with a nice gradient finish.</p>
<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </b><b><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/02/purported-realme-xt-pro-specifications-leaked-packing-a-snapdragon-730g-64mp-main-camera/">Purported Realme XT Pro specifications leaked revealing a Snapdragon 730G SoC, 64MP main camera</a></b></div></div>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-273600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/1664462.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="560" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/1664462.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/1664462-168x300.jpg 168w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/1664462-235x420.jpg 235w" sizes="(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px" /></p>
<p>Outside of this, the teaser doesn&#8217;t really reveal anything we don&#8217;t already. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/02/realme-q-specs-revealed/">Realme&#8217;s own Xi Qi Chase has already confirmed that the Realme Q will possess a 4035 mAH battery with 20W VOOC fast-charging capabilities</a>. We also know that the new Realme device will be powered by the Snapdragon 712 processor, just like the Realme 5.</p>
<p>The smartphone will be run on Oppo’s ColorOS 6, based on the Android 9 Pie operating system. Realme is allegedly developing their own offshoot Android skin based Android Q, but it is not ready for launch yet. It&#8217;s possible that the Realme Q may come with this brand new UI, but it&#8217;s not likely considering the ETA for the new UI is the end of the year.</p>

A couple of days back the company hinted that it would hold an unveil event on September 5. It has now been confirmed that the company will launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-5-pro/">Realme 5 Pro</a> smartphone in China on that day. However, the device will bear a different moniker &#8211; Realme Q.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-273038" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme Q" width="400" height="677" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q.jpg 400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-177x300.jpg 177w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-248x420.jpg 248w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></a></p>
<p>This was revealed recently via a Weibo post by the company&#8217;s CMO Xu Qi Chase who confirmed the upcoming Q series will launch with four phones in its portfolio. Right now, Realme has officially released a teaser showing the rear design of the device. The device visibly packs a quad-camera setup with the teaser pointing to a 48MP main sensor. The device is also teased to pack a Snapdragon 712 chipset. There is also an indication that the device will likely have a price tag in the triple-digit region, likely 999 yuan (~$140). <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-273040" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme Q" width="675" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-3.jpg 675w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-3-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-3-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px" /></a></p>
<p>A couple of hand-on pictures of the phone has also appeared on Weibo showing the device in all its glory. The pictures reaffirm it is indeed the Realme 5 Pro. In addition to the quad-camera setup at the rear stacked at the left corner, the front design includes the same waterdrop notch housing the selfie camera. Check out more of the pictures from below.</p>

<p>While the company had not revealed much more about this upcoming smartphone lineup, it has now revealed the chipset powering the device. In a new post on Weibo today, Realme revealed that the Realme Q will come powered by the Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/02/07/qualcomm-snapdragon-712-is-official-brings-10-increase-in-performance-over-sd710-and-new-features/">Snapdragon 712</a> SoC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-272880 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-sd712.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme Q Snapdragon 712 SoC" width="690" height="1227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-sd712.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-sd712-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-sd712-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/realme-q-sd712-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>It is being speculated that the Realme Q-series could be the rebranded version of the Realme 5-series smartphones launched in India last week. The Realme 5 Pro was also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/26/realme-5-pro-passes-tenaa-in-china-launch-imminent/">recently certified by TENAA</a>, indicating that it&#8217;s coming to China for sure, but could have a different name.</p>
<p>The Realme 5 comes powered by Snapdragon 665 SoC while the 5 Pro packs Snapdragon 712 chipset. The upcoming Realme XT with 64MP quad-camera setup is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 AIE chipset.</p>
<p>Coming to the specifications, while the Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, the 5 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display, both featuring a waterdrop notch. Both the smartphones run <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coloros">ColorOS</a> 6.0 on top based on Android 9 Pie operating system.</p>
