If you live in India and you want to forget your charger at least for two days, you currently have a lot of choices. Among the best and most recent ones, there are <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/tecno-pova-2">Tecno Pova 2</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-9-power">Redmi 9 Power</a>. They come with huge batteries, but they also feature great specifications if compared to the money asked. Which of these devices should you opt for? Did Transsion do a better job than Xiaomi in their price range? This comparison between Tecno Pova 2 and Redmi 9 Power will highlight the differences between their specifications.</p>

<h3>Design</h3>
<p>Do not expect premium materials from these handsets. They are lower-midrange phones and they are both built with a polycarbonate body. I personally prefer the Redmi 9 Power because it has a more compact body and it is easier to use with one hand and to keep in a pocket. Further, it has a pretty good look and its front glass is protected by Corning&#8217;s Gorilla Glass 3. These phones come with side-mounted fingerprint readers thanks to which you can authenticate in a comfortable way.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>These phones come with similar display specifications. They have an IPS panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080p, a standard refresh rate, and no particular certifications to improve the image quality. They are the usual panels you can find on a lower-midrange phone, but they are all but disappointing. They offer a great level of detail and a sufficient image quality for everyone. With the Tecno Pova 2, you get one of the widest displays out there with a diagonal of 6.9 inches: that is why the phone is particularly recommended for those who work or play games. The Redmi 9 Power is more compact thanks to its 6.53-inch screen. Note that Redmi 9 Power features stereo speakers providing better audio quality, while Tecno Pova 2 has a mono speaker.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>The Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset found on the Redmi 9 Power and the MediaTek Helio G85 found on the Tecno Pova 2 are very close in terms of performance. Overall, the Helio G85 is slightly more powerful, but the Snapdragon 662 is built with a better production process (11 nm vs 12 nm) and it should provide a lower energy consumption on the Redmi 9 Power. Further, the Redmi 9 Power has a faster UFS 2.2 native storage in the high-end configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. This is also the maxed-out configuration of the Tecno Pova 2, but without the UFS 2.2 technology. While Redmi 9 Power is slightly more interesting in terms of hardware, it still runs Android 10 out of the box, while Tecno Pova 2 is based on Android 11. However, the MIUI 12 is a more advanced Android customization than the HiOS by Tecno.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Camera</h3>
<p>Both Redmi 9 Power and Tecno Pova 2 can not be considered camera phones. They have an average 48 MP main camera which provides good quality but it is nothing so special. The Quad-LED flash found on the Tecno Pova 2 allows shooting more visible photos in the dark (especially indoor) and videos can be recorded with resolutions up to 1440p. But for the rest, Redmi 9 Power is more interesting as it features an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a brighter focal aperture for the main sensor.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>Tecno Pova 2 has one of the biggest batteries out there with a capacity of 7000 mAh. But Redmi 9 Power remains an outstanding battery phone with its 6000 mAh battery. Both the handsets support 18W fast charging, but the Redmi 9 Power also supports reverse charging to charge other devices (wired).</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Price</h3>
<p>Redmi 9 Power and Tecno Pova 2 carry a starting price tag of Rs. 10,999 / $126 in the Indian market. Despite Tecno Pova 2 packs a slightly more powerful chipset, a wider display, and a bigger battery, the Redmi 9 Power looks more interesting due to its stereo speakers, reverse charging, and ultrawide camera. But this might not be everyone&#8217;s opinion. Which one would you pick?</p>

<p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ishan Agarwal</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">, one of the popular leakers on Twitter, has partnered with </span><a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/redmi-9-power-6gb-ram-variant-india-launch-price-exclusive/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">91Mobiles</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to bring new info about the already official </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-9-power/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redmi 9 Power</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. According to him, Xiaomi India will be launching a new higher storage variant of this handset.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The new version of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Redmi/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redmi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> 9 Power is reported to come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. As far as price is concerned, it will be retailing for ₹12,999 in the country. For those unaware, the currently available 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants are sold for ₹10,999 and ₹11,999 in the country.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is interesting to see </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> bringing a 6GB RAM variant of Redmi 9 Power in India. Because this feature is one of the key differentiators of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-poco-m3/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">POCO M3</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, another phone from the Xiaomi group with the almost same set of specs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hence, with the same amount of RAM and an additional 8MP ultra-wide camera, the upcoming Redmi 9 Power 6GB + 128GB variant sounds like a better option. However, it will be ₹2,000 costlier than the POCO M3 6GB + 128GB model.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some of the highlights of Redmi 9 Power include a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD panel, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/21/qualcomm-unveils-snapdragon-720g-snapdragon-662-and-snapdragon-460-mobile-platforms/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, dual stereo speakers, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-10/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Android 10</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, 6,000mAh battery, 18W fast charging,  and more.</span></p>

The teaser page on Xiaomi&#8217;s website teases the device&#8217;s power-packed battery, performance, display, camera, and more. While the device is likely a tweaked version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-9-4g/">Redmi Note 9 4G(China)</a>, tipster Ishan Agarwal shares an exclusive render of the device.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_357016" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-357016" style="width: 849px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-357016" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G-.jpg?x10805" alt="Redmi Note 9 4G" width="849" height="550" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G-.jpg 849w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G--300x194.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G--768x498.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G--696x451.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Redmi-Note-9-4G--648x420.jpg 648w" sizes="(max-width: 849px) 100vw, 849px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-357016" class="wp-caption-text">Redmi Note 9 4G</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/redmi-9-power-camera-specs-exclusive/">91Mobiles</a>, the tipster shares a rear image of the upcoming Redmi 9 Power. Accordingly, the image shows the rear panel of the Redmi 9 Power in Blue Color. As you can see below, the rectangular camera layout is similar to the Redmi Note 9 4G that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/26/redmi-note-9-5g-redmi-note-9-pro-and-note-9-4g-launched-in-china/">launched in China last month</a>.  However, it has an additional sensor, unlike the Chinese variant.</p>
<p>This is something we have already reported <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/28/redmi-9t-m2010j19sg-for-global-markets-could-be-a-tweaked-version-of-chinas-redmi-note-9-4g/">courtesy of FCC</a> and Google Play Console listings. Consequently, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Redmi-9-Power/">Redmi 9 Power</a> and other versions(<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/01/redmi-note-9t-bags-nbtc-certification-launch-could-be-nearing/">Redmi 9T</a>) will have an additional 2MP macro sensor replacing the &#8216;AI&#8217; logo on the Chinese variant.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359541" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/redmi-9-power-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p>Anyway, the rest of the render shows a &#8217;48MP&#8217;, &#8216;SUPER QUAD CAMERA'(instead of TRIPLE) logo. Additionally, the device&#8217;s textured rear panel, LED Flashlight placement are similar to the Chinese variant. As for the rear camera specs, the device will have a 48MP main(wide), 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP macro and depth sensors.</p>
<h4><strong>Redmi 9 Power Specifications</strong></h4>
<p>The extra sensor aside, the Redmi 9 Power will mostly be the same as the Note 9 4G in China. It will feature a 6.53-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display, Qualcomm&#8217;s <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-662">Snapdragon 662 SoC</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/01/mi-10i-redmi-9-power-storage-variants-colors-leak-india/">4GB RAM, and 64/128GB storage</a>.</p>
<p>Other specs will include an 8MP selfie shooter, 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12">MIUI 12</a> based on Android 10 out of the box. Also, the teaser page confirms that Redmi 9 Power will come in Orange, Black, Green colors apart from the Blue render shown above.</p>

The list has names from biggies like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei">Huawei</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo">Lenovo</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a>, and more. As always we have included few devices that are speculated to arrive this month at the end.</p>

<h4><strong>OPPO Reno5 series</strong></h4>
<p>Perhaps, the next big launch in China would be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/26/oppo-reno5-series-global-launch-could-be-in-december-key-details-emerge/">Reno5 series of smartphones</a>. It is rumored to launch on December 10 in China. Anyway, the lineup will likely have three devices- Reno5 5G, Reno5 Pro 5G, Reno5 Pro+ 5G. The entire specs of the device have been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/30/oppo-reno5-series-massive-leak-reveals-specs-and-pricing-likely-to-launch-on-december-10/">leaked</a> ahead of launch.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_357476" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-357476" style="width: 2200px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-357476 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders.jpg?x10805" alt="Alleged Reno5 front renders" width="2200" height="1500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders.jpg 2200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-300x205.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-768x524.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-1024x698.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-696x475.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-1068x728.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-616x420.jpg 616w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/OPPO-Reno5-front-renders-1920x1309.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2200px) 100vw, 2200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-357476" class="wp-caption-text">Representative image of Reno4 Series. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno5-5g/">Reno5 5G</a> will probably have a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED FHD+(1080p) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G SoC, 4,300mAh battery with 65W charging, ColorOS 11. As for the optics, it will likely feature a quad-camera setup with 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP sensors, and a 32MP selfie shooter.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno5-pro-5g/">Reno5 Pro</a> will have similar specs as the Reno5 but a bigger 6.55-inch display, Dimensity 1000+ SoC, and a slightly larger 4,350mAh battery. And as per leaks, the difference between Reno5 Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno5-pro-+-5g/">Reno5 Pro+</a> is a bigger 4,500mAh battery, Snapdragon 865 SoC, and rear cameras. Accordingly, it will most likely include a mysterious Sony IMX7xx 50MP lens, 16MP ultra-wide, 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom, and a 2MP macro sensor.</p>

<h4><strong>Huawei Nova8, Honor V40 series</strong></h4>
<p>Huawei launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/05/huawei-nova-8-se-in-dimensity-720-800u-chipset-64mp-quad-cameras-and-66w-fast-charging-launched-for-2599-yuan-391/">Nova 8 SE</a> back in November. The company is expected to expand the Nova8 lineup and if <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/huawei-nova-8-honor-v40-arriving-in-december-camera-design-revealed/">reports</a> are true it will happen this month. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/27/huawei-nova-8-series-phone-receives-3c-certification-reveals-66w-fast-charging-support/">Certifications received an earlier</a> hint that the lineup will include two more devices- Nova8, and Nova8 Pro. The Pro model will likely feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/huawei-nova-8-pro-live-shots-appear-to-reveal-front-design/">dual punch-hole display with curved edges</a>. Sadly, not much is known about the series but the Nova 8 could sport <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-820" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dimensity 820</a> SoC, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/huawei-nova-8-honor-v40-arriving-in-december-camera-design-revealed/">rectangular layout</a> with quad-cameras, while the Pro model will have <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000-plus" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dimensity 1000+</a> SoC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-347845" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/honor-v40.jpg?x10805" alt="honor v40 series" width="679" height="294" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/honor-v40.jpg 679w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/honor-v40-300x130.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 679px) 100vw, 679px" /></p>
<p>The Honor V40 series was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/05/upcoming-smartphones-november-2020-edition/">expected to launch last month</a>. However, a lot happened in December and now Honor is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/17/huawei-sells-honor-subsidiary-to-zhixin-new-information-technology-co-ltd/">no longer a sub-brand of Huawei</a>. Hence, the V40 series could be the first Honor Smartphones after the split. Although it is rumored to launch in December along with the Nova8 series, some reports say that it might get skipped to Jan 2021. The series will have V40 Pro, V40 Pro+. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/23/honor-v40-series-may-not-feature-kirin-9000-claims-leak/">Reports say</a> that both the devices will have a 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, 50MP Sony IMX700 RYYB camera, 66W wired &amp; 40W wireless charging, 5G, Dimensity 1000+ SoC(V40), and more.</p>
