Unquestionably, one of the most popular smartphone benchmarking tools is AnTuTu. The benchmark performs several tests before providing us with a score that we can use to estimate the performance of the device. Every month, the platform publishes a list of the 10 most powerful gadgets, and in keeping with that trend, the list of the Top 10 smartphones for November 2022 has also been publicly released. Let’s see which device made it to the top of the list and which one came in last!

The list provided by the platform is based on tests administered between November 1 and November 20, 2022. AnTuTu V9, the most recent version, was used for all testing. With 1117968 average marks, the ROG Phone 6 Pro, a gaming phone, has topped the list when looking at the results. With scores of 1110082 and 1086197, respectively, ROG Phone 6 and ZenFone 9 are in second and third place. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset from Qualcomm powers all three of these devices.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro, which has an average score of 1064841 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 CPU, is in fourth place. A Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC and 1051650 scores put the Nubia RedMagic 7 in fifth place. BlackShark 5 Pro and Motorola Edge 30 Pro, with scores of 1026704 and 1005920, respectively, are in sixth and seventh place. With 1003314 points, the Vivo X80 is in eighth place, followed by the Motorola Edge X30 (988627 points) and Galaxy Z Fold4 5G (983354 points).

All of the smartphones on the list, with the exception of the Vivo X80, were equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile chipsets. Top models featured the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 wasn’t far behind. There were not many differences in performance across the top smartphones’ ratings because they were powered by the same platform.

Other than smartphones, Stadia also works on laptops, desktops, and TVs connected to Chromecast Ultra. Google says Stadia will work on tablets but up until now, no tablet is supported. Not even the Galaxy Tab S6.

Last month, the Stadia Team announced that more features will be coming to Stadia this quarter but there was no mention of tablet support. Nevertheless, we hope that happens soon.

The phone launched with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box in June 2018, and in January 2019, a Geekbench listing of the phone running Android Pie surfaced, leading folks to believe the update would roll out soon but it didn’t, not until now.

Yes, the first-gen ROG Phone (ZS600KL) is now receiving Android Pie even though other devices are already getting Android 10. The news was announced on ASUS ZenTalk forums.

The update arrives as version 16.0410.1910.91. Below is the full changelog:

Upgraded system to Android P.

Removed PAge Marker, ZeniMoji, Report Location in Safeguard, weather animation setting, AI Charging.

Removed the Yandex cloud operation of File Manager application.

Upgraded Game Center to Armoury Crate with a whole new design.

Added “Adaptive brightness”, “Adaptive Battery”, “New notifications”, “Status bar icon manager”, “Screen recorder”, and “Local backup” in Settings.

Upgraded Game Genie panel with new design and features.

Added Android P “Swipe up on Home button” gesture.

Support 24-hour forecast in Weather application.

Revamped Mobile Manager, Contacts, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, and Weather applications.

Redesigned volume control panel following Android P.

ASUS is currently working on updating the ROG Phone 2 to Android 10. It already rolled out the update to the Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 5Z. However, we do not think the ROG Phone 1 will be getting Android 10 anytime soon, if at all.

The Android Pie update is rolling out gradually, so if you check your device now and it isn’t available yet, you may want to give it a few more days.

The leaked specs and images confirmed that the listings belong to the forthcoming ASUS ROG Phone II smartphone. The TENAA listings for the smartphone are now updated with full specifications.

TENAA reveals that the ROG Phone 2 has 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78mm dimensions. It’s a bulky device it weighs 240 grams. The predecessor ROG Phone that came last year measured 158.8 x 76.2 x 8.3mm and weighed 200 grams. The original smartphone housed a 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio supporting display that supported full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The ROG Phone 2 has a bigger OLED display of 6.59 inches. It offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2340 pixels full HD+ resolution. Its already known that the ROG Phone 2’s display will offer a refresh rate of 120Hz. The handset will be coming in a single color option of black.

The front view of the ROG Phone II smartphone shows that its display has regular bezels like the original ROG Phone. Also, it seems to be equipped with dual front-firing speakers. The rear side of the phone largely resembles the predecessor model in terms of design. The horizontally arranged dual camera setup is assisted by two LED flash units. The ROG logo could be equipped with RGB light and it may also function as notification LED. There is no fingerprint scanner on the backside of the smartphone.

The ROG Phone II TENAA listing states it is powered by 2.95GHz octa-core processor. ASUS has already confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will be launching as the world’s first smartphone powered by the all new Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device.

However, both the features are not mentioned on ROG Phone 2’s TENAA listing. The 3C listing of the smartphone has revealed that it carries support for 30W fast charging. There is a possibility that the smartphone could be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Now, after long-standing speculation, Asus will also be announcing its ROG gaming smartphone in the country. The launch is scheduled for November 29. It’s been quite some time since Asus first revealed it’s flashy ROG Phone back at Computex. Even the Nubia Red Magic is arriving very late in the country as its successor is to be revealed in a few days in China on November 28.

Apart from India, the ROG Phone was previously made available in the US and UK. For the Indian market, gaming phones are quite the new category as Honor was just the first device to market the Honor Play as a gaming smartphone. However, with the increasing popularity of mobile multiplayer titles like PUBG, there might just be some takers of these new devices. Speaking of which, we’re reminded that the ROG Phone with all its bling and firepower doesn’t come cheap, unlike the Honor Play. The phone retails for £799 (₹72,800) in the UK and if the Indian price is anything close to that region, Asus could have a hard time selling its first gaming device in the market.

Some of the most noticeable features of the ROG Phone include a tweaked 6.0-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. That is not to be seen on any other gaming phone except the Razer Phone. It also features a higher-clocked Snapdragon 845 that goes up to 2.96GHz, Bluetooth 5.0 with AptX HD, 3.5mm jack with a dedicated DAC, and a really unique sporty look and feel. Of course, no gaming smartphone is complete without an RGB light and the ROG Phone also has one on the back along with cooling vents placed on the side.

Asus knows the price sensitivity of the Indian market and it will be interesting to see how the Taiwanese giant prices its upcoming device.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 processor, clocked at 2.96GHz. The chipset is coupled with 8GB of RAM and the phone offers two storage options — 128GB and 512GB. It also comes with Optiflex — the company’s custom technology that speeds up the phone.

As for the photography, the device houses a 12MP Sony IMX363 f/1.7 primary sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and an 8MP secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. There’s an 8MP front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The ROG Phone was first announced about three months ago but has now gotten an official launch in China along with pricing details.

ROG Phone Design

With respect to design, the ROG Phone doesn’t look like your average phone. It comes in black with copper-colored accents for the cooling vents on the back and the front-facing speakers in front. There is an RGB LED underneath the ROG logo on the back with different modes including static, breathing, strobe and color cycling. The dual camera housing and the fingerprint scanner are also weirdly shaped. It isn’t a beautiful phone neither is it ugly but it stands out.

ROG Phone Specs

The ROG Phone packs a 6.0-inch 2160 x 1080 AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. The screen has an 18:9 aspect ratio but sports moderately-sized bezels at the top and chin. Both bezels are home to the front-facing stereo speakers.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor but unlike other phones powered by the same processor and clocked at 2.8GHz, the one in the ROG Phone is clocked at 2.96GHz. There is 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB or 512GB of storage.

Sitting on the rear is a 120° wide-angle Sony IMX363 12MP f/1.7 primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor. Another 8MP f/2.0 camera sits above the display for video calls and selfies. ASUS says the cameras are packed with AI features such as scene recognition.

There is a 4,000mAh battery under the hood with support for Hyper Charger (30W fast charge) and Quick Charge 4.0. ASUS has put the charger’s IC inside the charger rather than inside the phone to keep the phone cool when charging.

The ROG Phone has a specially designed 3D vapor cooling chamber that keeps the device from overheating. It also has support for specially designed accessories that attach to the device. One of the accessories is the AeroActive Cooler which is a clip-on cooling fan. An app within the phone allows users to set the fan’s speed or turn it on or off. With the cooler on, the device’s surface temperature can be brought down up by up to 4.7 °C.

There are other accessories such as the Mobile Desktop dock that turns it into a full desktop PC, a gamepad dock, and the TwinView Dock which has an extra screen and a built-in 6,000mAh battery.

The phone also has air triggers on the right side of the device which acts like shoulder buttons when playing games. It also has a special X-Mode that is activated by squeezing the frame of the phone. Once activated, background tasks are stopped and all processing power is channeled to the game.

The latest one is the Asus ROG Phone and, at least on the paper, it is the most powerful smartphone ever released. It was recently unveiled at Computex 2018 but the company did not release any detail about its global availability, neither about its listing price. That is why everyone thought it is going to be an exclusive for Taiwan which is Asus‘ homeland. But now, fresh reports are suggesting that the device may head on the Indian market. In such case, Asus ROG Phone would be the first gaming phone to ever hit the Indian market.

Indeed, Razer Phone’s global launch did not include India, and neither the Chinese gaming phones Xiaomi Black Shark and ZTE’s Nubia Red Magic were launched in the peninsula. According to the source, the device will land in India in September and after the Indian launch, there are even chances that the handset will be made available to purchase in Europe. At the moment, we cannot guarantee you the reliability of the source, so take every info given with a pinch of salt.

Asus ROG Phone has a 6-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, the AMOLED technology and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. On the hardware side, it features an octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 512 GB of internal storage depending on the configuration. It has stereo speakers and a rear dual camera with 12 and 8 MP resolutions, as well as an 8 MP front camera and a monster battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. Asus ROG Phone is the first mobile phone with 3 USB Type-C ports which allow connecting accessories such as a joypad and an additional fan.

How much do you think the gaming phone will cost?
