Lenovo has launched the Legion Y700 5th Gen AI Tablet in China, bringing flagship-level hardware, AI features, and high-end gaming capabilities in a compact form factor. The tablet offers up to 24GB of RAM and positions itself as a performance-focused Android tablet. This tablet was recently introduced globally as the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5.

The device features Tianxi Personal Super Intelligent Agent, a system-level AI assistant designed to act as a personalised smart agent. It also includes Tianxi AI PadClaw, which works locally without internet and adapts to different use cases such as studying, entertainment, and daily tasks.

The tablet sports an 8.8-inch LCD display with a 3K resolution of 3040 x 1904 pixels. It supports a 165Hz refresh rate, 800 nits brightness, and 12-bit colour depth. The tablet includes a 50MP rear camera with a LEGION HALO lighting ring and an 8MP front camera. It packs a 9000mAh battery with 68W fast charging and bypass charging support. iQOO Z10R and Vivo T4R 5G saw the same ₹2,000 increase. The starting price shifted from ₹20,999 to ₹22,999. The 8GB/256GB variant changed from ₹22,999 to ₹24,999, while the 12GB/256GB model moved from ₹24,999 to ₹26,999.

iQOO Z10x and Vivo T4x 5G got different increases depending on storage. The base model went up ₹1,500, from ₹15,499 to ₹16,999. The 8GB/128GB version increased ₹2,500, from ₹16,499 to ₹18,999. The 8GB/256GB model also jumped ₹2,500, from ₹18,499 to ₹20,999.

The tipster also mentions that other brands like OnePlus and Realme could announce price increases soon. The broader reason cited is rising memory component costs affecting the entire industry.

Smartphone prices have been climbing gradually over recent months. Today’s increases mean you’ll now pay ₹1,500 to ₹2,500 more, depending on which phone you buy. Some models cost up to ₹3,000 extra compared to yesterday.

The Flow Z13-KJP is visually distinct from the standard Flow Z13. The design is based on the Ludens character and was developed with direct input from Yoji Shinkawa. The chassis uses CNC-milled aluminum with angular cutouts and carbon fiber elements. Custom typography is used across the device, packaging, and accessories. ASUS also includes a dedicated carrying case, custom packaging, a customized power adapter, and a unique Armoury Crate theme.

For a portable system, the Flow Z13-KJP packs some high end hardware. The Flow Z13-KJP runs Windows 11 Home and uses the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with Radeon 8060S graphics. The chip combines 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 40 RDNA 3.5 GPU compute units on a single processor. Instead of separating system and graphics memory, the device uses a unified memory architecture with 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 quad-channel onboard memory. Memory is allocated dynamically between CPU and GPU depending on workload. The processor also includes an NPU rated at 50 TOPS, allowing local AI tasks such as running large language models without cloud reliance.

Alldocube has rolled out a new budget tablet in Japan, and it’s a bit of a surprise package. The iPlay 70 Max Pro is now listed at JPY 29,999 (around $191), and for that price you’re getting a 13-inch high-res screen and 5G built in.

The tablet uses the Unisoc S715, an octa-core chip that Alldocube says scores roughly 650,000 on AnTuTu. The company even compares it to devices running MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080, like the Redmi Note 12 Pro. Alongside that, you get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, plus a microSD slot if you need more room.

The big draw is the display. It’s a 13-inch IPS panel with a 1600 × 2560 resolution, and Alldocube is highlighting Widevine L1 support — meaning Netflix and Prime Video can stream at full quality, not the blurry SD you get on many cheap tablets. The tablet also packs eight speakers, which is pretty unusual at this price.

Alldocube is also trying to angle it a bit toward productivity. There’s a desktop mode, a Pogo Pin connector for an optional keyboard, and support for USI 2.0 stylus pens. AOC has launched a new 10-inch black-and-white E-Ink tablet in China. The model, named “10W1D,” is now available on JD.com with a retail price of 1,699 yuan ($236). It targets students and professionals who want a distraction-free, eye-friendly reading and writing experience.

The 8.8-inch tablet will focus on thin design and portability. It is not built for gaming. In a comment reply, the blogger confirmed it is aimed at users who want a compact and easy-to-carry device. The 14.2-inch model will be a standard flat tablet, not a foldable.

Huawei is also working on tablets with large batteries. One of them will include a 13000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The blogger said Huawei’s tablet lineup is growing quickly and that the brand has secured the top spot among Chinese tablet makers.

India’s digital hardware market is showing a clear shift in momentum. According to Canalys’ Q1 2025 data, tablet shipments in the country fell sharply by 24% year-over-year to just 1 million units. In contrast, personal computer shipments (excluding tablets) climbed 13% to reach 3.3 million units, driven by strong demand for notebooks.

Samsung Faces Decline, Apple Gains Ground

Samsung, long the top tablet vendor in India, experienced a steep 33.4% drop in shipments, falling from 464,000 units in Q1 2024 to 309,000 in Q1 2025. Its market share slipped from 34.4% to 29.8%. Acer suffered an even more severe 67.2% decline due to delays in government and education sector orders.

Apple, however, recorded significant growth. iPad shipments in India rose 26.8% year-over-year, increasing its market share from 9.5% to 15.8%. Lenovo also performed well with a 16.1% growth, followed by Xiaomi, which saw a 12.6% rise. These gains were likely fueled by strong consumer interest, improved retail presence, and targeted online marketing across metro and tier-two cities.

Notebook Segment Sees Strong AI-Driven Growth

Notebook shipments in India grew 21% year-over-year in Q1 2025, reaching 2.4 million units. AI-capable laptops saw 253% growth, albeit from a small base, while premium laptops priced above $1,000 surged 49%. The data suggests that both consumers and enterprises are now prioritizing higher performance and AI-readiness.

HP led the overall PC market with nearly 29% share. Lenovo followed closely, posting a 34.8% year-over-year growth in shipments. Apple also saw notable gains in the PC category, with Mac shipments rising 73%, helped by its expanding offline retail network and rising appeal among premium users.

Despite the ongoing weakness in the tablet segment, Canalys forecasts 6% growth for India’s overall PC market in 2025, with an even stronger rebound expected in 2026. AI adoption and rising demand from non-metro cities are expected to be key growth drivers.

Unveiled alongside its Find X8s series in China, the Pad 4 Pro packs serious hardware, bleeding-edge display tech, and a refined software experience. But how much of an upgrade is it, really, when compared to its predecessors — the Oppo Pad 3 Pro and Oppo Pad 2?

Let’s unpack what’s truly new, what’s just polished, and where Oppo is finally starting to make real strides.

Bigger, Bolder, Sharper

The most immediate change? Size. The Oppo Pad 4 Pro leaps to a massive 13.2-inch screen, the largest in Oppo’s tablet portfolio, up from the 12.1-inch Pad 3 Pro and 11.6-inch Pad 2. The resolution also gets a bump, with the new display pushing 3392 x 2400 pixels (3.4K), versus the 3K panel on the Pad 3 Pro and 2.8K on the Pad 2. Combine that with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and 900 nits of brightness, and you get one of the sharpest and most responsive LCD displays on a tablet today.

Performance

Powering the Pad 4 Pro is Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on TSMC’s 3nm process. This puts it ahead of the Pad 3 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version (a 4nm chip), and leagues ahead of the Dimensity 9000 inside the Pad 2. It’s not just about clock speed either. The Elite’s Adreno 830 GPU, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and blazing-fast UFS 4.0 storage, gives the Pad 4 Pro a significant performance headroom, ideal for heavy multitasking, gaming, and creative workflows.

That said, the Pad 3 Pro’s Gen 3 chip is still no slouch. But the lack of UFS 4.0 and limited RAM/storage variant (12GB + 256GB) in global markets means it doesn’t scale up as flexibly as the Pad 4 Pro, which goes all the way to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Design and Audio Refinement

Design-wise, the Pad 4 Pro sticks to Oppo’s now-familiar formula: a sleek metal unibody, ultra-thin profile (just 5.97mm), and symmetrical bezels. It weighs 675g, noticeably heavier than the Pad 3 Pro (586g) and Pad 2 (552g), but that’s the trade-off for the larger display and beefier battery.

Speaking of sound, the audio setup gets a serious boost. The Pad 4 Pro sports eight speakers in a 4 mid-bass + 4 tweeter layout, with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification. That’s up from six speakers on the Pad 3 Pro and four on the Pad 2. Whether you’re watching Netflix or gaming with spatial audio, this thing should sound great on paper at least.

Battery, Charging, and Connectivity

Oppo’s tablets have long featured generous batteries, but the Pad 4 Pro takes it a step further with a 12,140mAh cell, up from the 9510mAh units used in both previous models. Charging remains at 67W SuperVOOC across the board, but it’s good to see Oppo maintaining that fast-charging standard even as battery sizes increase.

The Pad 4 Pro ships with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, making it one of the first Android tablets to launch with the latest OS. In contrast, the Pad 3 Pro and Pad 2 were released with Android 14 and Android 13, respectively. Anyways, all of them currently boot the latest ColorOS 15 (Android 15). They offer better multi-device sync, improved window management, and native support for AI-powered features as well.

Accessories also carry over, but with refinement.
