Earlier today (9th June 2021), a known Weibo tipster, a Chinese microblogging website, uploaded screenshots that revealed the radio certification of two upcoming products from Xiaomi. This includes an upcoming flagship smartphone and the Mi Pad  5.

Talking about the flagship handset first, @数码闲聊站 shared a screenshot of the radio certification of the device, which will apparently feature UWB as well. For those unaware, UWB stands for ultra wideband transmission technology. This technology was first seen in the iPhone 11 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 for Android. UWB uses short pulses for wireless communication. This enables it to transmit data without interference, with a high transmission rate at a lower power cost and higher accuracy. Notably, the technology also has applications in IoT interaction and for high precision tracking devices like smart tags.

Arriving at the tablet, the Chinese tech giant is apparently gearing up for the launch of the Mi Pad 5. As per the tipster, a device with the model number “M2105K81C” has already received radio certification and will be a part of the latest generation of tablets from Xiaomi. Notably, this tablet will also support 5G networking, so we can expect a 5G enabled chipset from MediaTek and Qualcomm.

Previous reports had revealed that the base model will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC while the Pro variant of the tablet will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. Although, these are just speculation, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned for more, as we will provide updates if any notable developments or reports surface.

Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus were released recently but looks like they are not the only high-end phones that are going to be announced by the company this year. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed the existence of the Mi Note 2 recently and considering that the specs of the Mi 5S Plus have left us wanting for more, the Mi Note 2 would be a perfect high-end flagship from the company.

Now, the popular Chinese analyst Pan Juitang says that the Mi Note 2 will be priced at 4000 Yuan, which comes to nearly $600! This will make it the costliest flagship from Xiaomi till date. He failed to mention any possible specs of the device, but previous rumors suggest that the Mi Note 2 will come with a curved screen display, dual cameras, 6GB RAM option and more powerful hardware.

It actually makes sense for the Mi Note 2 to be super high-end and costly. Xiaomi’s executives had previously revealed that the company aims to make its mark in the premium segment and the Mi Note 2 will be the perfect phone to do that job. Further, with Samsung Galaxy Note 7 out of the picture, there will be a void to be filled in the premium Android market in the next few months. Xiaomi could aim to cover this void with its new release, provided it comes with the latest technology on board. That’s why it makes sense why the Mi Note 2 will be a relatively costly Xiaomi phone.

Anyway, apart from confirming the existence of the Mi Note 2, Xiaomi’s CEO has practically revealed nothing else about the device. So, we will have to wait for some more concrete details in the next few days. Stay tuned!

Well, we are just a few hours away from the official unveiling of the next Xiaomi flagship. And now we have some exciting news to reveal about tomorrow’s launch.

There have been many different versions of the upcoming flagship leaked in the past few days. Some say it will be the Mi4s, others say its the Mi5 while there’s even a section of population that say its a new lineup called Mi Note.

It is said that Qualcomm will hold an event on January 23rd where it will show off the new Snapdragon 810 processor. The leak says that even Xiaomi will be present at the event. The same leakster earlier said that the Xiaomi will announce two new devices tomorrow, one running on a Snapdragon 810 processor and the other running on the old Snapdragon 801 processor. This is the first time we are hearing about a Snapdragon 810 powered Xiaomi flagship and if this does turn out to be true, then fans will definitely have something to be excited about tomorrow.

Xiaomi will be the perfect partner to debut this powerful processor in China. So, it won’t be surprising to see a Xiaomi flagship run this latest processor. The same source even leaked out an invite for the Qualcomm’s event for Jan 23. We have added it below.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 is the most powerful mobile processor from the chipset maker till date. It is built upon a 20nm process and features the 64-bit architecture, big.LITTLE eight-core, and Adreno 430 GPU.

Xiaomi confirmed earlier today that there probably won’t be a Mi5 at the event, which leaves us with a new Mi Note lineup. This could be the one sporting Snapdragon 810! Xiaomi will also announce another device at the event, probably the Redmi Note 2 with Snapdragon 801.

Since the past one week, not a day goes by without a leak about the upcoming flagship from Xiaomi. Some say it is the Xiaomi Mi4S that’s going to be announced, while others claim its the Redmi Note 2! We think the company may announce both the device at the January 15 event.

Today, we have some leaked images of the upcoming flagship with some new specifications. This makes things a lot more confusing but here’s what we’ve got. The leaked images and specifications say this is the new Xiaomi Mi4S. It looks a lot like the images which were leaked earlier, only a little smaller which hints a 5.2-inch display rather than a 5.7-inch screen. Like earlier images, the placement of the sensors and the front camera have been changed and the bezels are a bit thinner, but other than that, the Mi4S seems to have a similar design as the Mi4. Also, the three traditional capacitive keys are seen below the screen on this device.

As for the tech specs, the phone is reportedly running on a Snapdragon 801 processor, the same one that’s currently inside the Xiaomi Mi4 clocked at 2.5GHz.  The overall body frame is said to be made of aluminum alloy and is much thinner than the existing flagship. In the AnTuTu benchmark test results, the phone secured a score of over 46866 points, which is almost 4000 points higher than the average score of Mi4 (42000). This ranks it higher than other powerful flagships like the OnePlus One, Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Alpha. Only the Nexus 6 and Meizu MX4 are have scored above 46000 points.

The company will finally unravel the mystery behind its new flagship on January 15, which is just two days away.

Xiaomi has been making the headlines for a long time now. The latest leak shows off “3D” schematics of the advertised “thinner than the cicada’s wings ” new Xiaomi smartphone. These pictures come to us from the Foxconn factory in China and supposedly were snapped (in low resolution) by someone with a connection to the supply chain.

The first thing that hits you about the Xiaomi Mi4s are the rounded corners on the device, which dovetails with many of the other leaks we’ve seen of the phone. Unfortunately, the leak does not reveal any measurements of the device, although it does appear to keep the extremely thin design that we’ve seen before. But if slimness is what the company is aiming for,  then it could have similar measurements to the iPhone 6 Plus’s 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm or even better measurements!

The power key has been moved to the right, supposedly to improve the grip on the phone, and the volume buttons are now elongated. In addition, the flash has changed to an oval design from the lozenge used on the iPhone 5s.

In addition to the 3D images, we also got some specifications directly from Foxconn. The Xiaomi Mi4S flagship will reportedly feature a 5.5inch 2k display，snapdragon 805, 3gb ram, 16gb/64gb rom, 16mp + 8mp camera. These specs are in line with what we heard a few days back, except for the camera department which was said to come with a more powerful 20.7MP sensor.

Yes, you should take this with a grain of salt, especially when the Xiaomi Mi4S leaks are all over the place. It is perfectly fine to cast a cynical eye on the images, even if you believe that the next Xiaomi flagship will look just like this.

The company confirmed an event on 15 January 2015 for its flagship launch about a day back, so we don’t have to wait too long to see whether these specs and the pictures are indeed of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4S / Xiaomi Mi5.
