Infinix has launched the Hot 40i smartphone in India today, right on schedule. While it was available in some other markets from last year, Indian buyers can now get their hands on it.

The Infinix Hot 40i is a budget-friendly phone with decent specs. So let’s take a closer look at the details and its price here.

Infinix Hot 40i specifications

The Hot 40i features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 480 nits. Infinix is touting the smartphone as the first in its segment to boast a 32MP selfie camera, complemented by dual-LED flashes.

Its rear design bears a resemblance to the iPhone’s aesthetic. It comes in Palm Blue, Starfall Green, Horizon Gold, and Starlit Black colors, and houses a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP lens, supported by an AI lens and Quad LED flash.

Under the hood, it is powered by a Unisoc T606 SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Out of the box, the device runs on Android-13-based XOS 13. It also has Infinix’s “Magic Ring” feature which offers notifications and charging animations akin to Apple’s Dynamic Island style.

Moreover, the Infinix Hot 40i is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 18W charging. For biometrics, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device is also pretty decent in weight at 190 grams and measures 163.5 x 75.59 x 8.30 mm.

Price and Availability

The Infinix Hot 40i smartphone is available in a single 8/256GB variant in India priced at Rs 9,999. With bank offers though, you can purchase it for as low as Rs 8,999. It will be up for grabs in India through Flipkart starting from February 21.

The Boult Z40 Ultra was announced for a price tag of 1,999 INR (roughly 24 US Dollars). Although, you can find it listed on Amazon India as well. It is available in multiple color options, namely Black, Beige, and Metallic.

Boult Z40 Ultra Specs

It features a design similar to the Apple AirPods Pro with an in-ear style with a stem. The earbuds are housed in a pebble shaped charging case. Both come with a dual tone design, with the earbuds supporting touch controls as well. The earbud houses 10mm BoomX drivers as well as a Quad mic setup that enables ENC and ANC (Environmental Noise Cancellation and Active Noise Cancellation). The former helps improve the calling experience, while the latter lowers noise by up to 32 decibels.

On a single full charge, Boult claims that the Z40 Ultra can offer up to 100 hours of audio playback (without ANC enabled) when paired with the charging case. There is even a dedicated gaming mode that lowers the latency down to 45ms. Other notable features include 3 preset EQ modes (HiFi, Bass, and Rock), IPX5 splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.3, fast pairing, and support for SBC and AAC audio codecs.

Earlier this month, a sneak peek of Google’s upcoming Pixel Fold 2 leaked, but it wasn’t very clear. However, new 3D renders from YouTuber TT Technology provides a much clearer look at the device. However, do note that this is only a 3D representation based on the earlier leak and may not reflect the actual device.

In these renders, we can see a noticeable change in the design of the camera module. The Pixel Fold 2 will have a rectangular module rather than the bar-style design of the original model.

The camera sensors are housed within a pill-shaped cutout on this module, and there’s also an LED light that extends slightly to the right. Additionally, the device has squared-off edges.

Regarding the camera setup, the Pixel Fold 2 is expected to feature a quad-camera system, including primary, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses. There’s speculation about the purpose of the fourth sensor, with possibilities like a periscope telephoto lens or an infrared/spectral/ToF sensor.

Moreover, the Pixel Fold 2 is said to be powered by the upcoming Tensor G4 chipset which means Google will be skipping the Tensor G3 chipset for its foldable. This may also change the launch timeline for the smartphone.

Typically, Google unveils new Tensor chipsets at its fall hardware event. But if the Pixel Fold 2 is launched at this year’s I/O event, it might not feature the newer Tensor G4.

However, if I/O passes without a Pixel Fold 2 launch, skipping Tensor G3 isn’t out of the question. It would make sense for Google’s most expensive device to have its latest chip inside, but this is currently just a rumor.

At the moment, we lack details about the Pixel Fold 2, but we can expect rumors to start circulating about the device soon.

Vivo is gearing up to launch its V30 series in India, including the V30 and V30 Pro models, offering advanced camera features in partnership with Zeiss. Eos is powered by an impressive setup of 576 Nvidia DGX H100 systems, integrated with Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking and specialized software, achieving a staggering 18.4 exaflops of FP8 AI performance. This setup marks an evolution from Nvidia’s previous supercomputing projects, SaturnV and Selene, showcasing an advanced DGX SuperPOD architecture. This design enables rapid scaling of AI data center solutions to meet high-performance demands.

At the heart of Eos are 4,608 H100 GPUs, spread across each DGX H100 system’s eight H100 Tensor Core APUs. This hardware configuration is tailored to manage extensive workloads, such as training large language models, running AI recommenders, conducting large-scale analytics, performing quantum simulations, and more.

Nvidia emphasizes that Eos’s architecture is finely tuned for AI tasks, requiring ultra-low latency and high throughput in massive computing clusters. Previous leaks have shed light on what customers can expect. The Vivo Y200e 5G is anticipated to sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with options of 6GB or 8GB RAM, expandable up to an additional 8GB. Storage is ample at 128GB, and the phone is expected to run on the latest FunTouch OS 14, based on Android 14.

Camera capabilities include a 16-megapixel front shooter and a rear setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor. A significant 5000mAh battery supports 44W fast charging, minimizing charging time. Dual speakers with a 300% audio boost are also said to be onboard the device.

The Y200e 5G also stands out for its design, featuring a leather back and a slim profile of 7.79mm, available in Diamond Black and Saffron Delight. Despite its premium features, the smartphone is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.

A while back, TikTok shared some news about creating this app specifically for the Vision Pro. It’s designed to let people watch videos either with a view of the real world around them or in a totally virtual space, like on the moon. Plus, it’s made to work well with other apps on the headset.

While TikTok is diving into augmented reality, other big names in streaming are being more cautious. Disney is all in, offering movies in 3D for Vision Pro users, and other services like Amazon Prime Video are on board too. Netflix and YouTube, however, aren’t rushing to join in. Tony Jauncey, an 82-year-old man from Kidderminster, UK, found a lifesaver in his Christmas gift, an Apple Watch, after being hit by a car on January 19, 2024. The incident, which took place at a painted roundabout intersection, left him with significant injuries, including a broken collarbone and cracked ribs.

He was unable to move or cancel the alert, which led to the prompt action by the watch

Jauncey was crossing the street to get to his car parked at a local supermarket when a car, not adhering to the roundabout rules, struck him. Despite the common belief that roundabouts are safer, this unfortunate event proves that accidents can still happen.

The moment he was hit, Jauncey’s Apple Watch kicked into action. It detected his fall and automatically asked if he needed to call emergency services. Unable to move or cancel the alert, the watch called for help on its own. This quick response brought the needed assistance to Jauncey at a critical time.

The driver involved in the accident stopped immediately to help, and, luckily, three off-duty nurses were close by to offer first aid until the emergency services arrived. This collective effort, along with the smartwatch’s timely alert, played a vital role in Jauncey’s survival and recovery. We have seen countless instances of how smartwatches contribute towards alerting services promptly, and hopefully, incidents like these motivate more people to get smartwatches for older members of their family/community.
