Earlier today, Oppo confirmed that it will hold a Find X7 series conference to reveal its innovative technologies on Dec. 27 in China. As far as launch is concerned, the X7 lineup is likely to be announced in the second week of January 2024. A screenshot that is now being circulated on Weibo reveals that the Find X7 series has been optimized to deliver a top-notch gaming experience.

This optimization includes ultra-high frame rate modes, extremely high frame rate options, and an extreme image quality + extremely high frame rate setting reaching 120 frames per second. This suggests that the Find X7 series will provide players with a smoother and more responsive display experience during gameplay.

Recent reports have revealed that Oppo may have ditched the “Pro” moniker for the Find X7 series. Therefore, the series is said to include two models, such as the Find X7 and the Find X7 Ultra. The Ultra model will have a dedicated variant that will come with support for two-way satellite communication. This model is likely to be dubbed the Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Version.

The Find X7 is expected to feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset, whereas the Ultra models will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Both devices are expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging. The Ultra model is also expected to offer 50W wireless charging.

The Find X7 will have a 6.78-inch curved-edge OLED screen offering a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to feature a 50-megapixel (Sony LYT-808) + 50-megapixel (Samsung JN1 ultra-wide) + 64MP (OmniVision OV64B periscope 3x zoom) triple camera unit.

On the other hand, the Find X7 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.82-inch curved-edge OLED screen offering a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Chinese audio products manufacturer Edifier has launched the e25HD desktop Bluetooth speaker in China. The Edifier e25HD comes with the Hi-Res double gold label certification for premium sound output.

Features

The Edifier e25HD desktop Bluetooth speaker has a design philosophy inspired by the lunar eclipse. The speaker is available in three color options namely space black, morning glow red, and daytime white. The three color options for the speaker represent the three artistic conceptions of the moon (dark, red, and bright respectively). The speaker has virtual buttons that are hidden on the left side of the main speaker on its overall unified appearance.

The e25HD desktop Bluetooth speaker supports dual DSP digital processing and is driven by independent power amplifiers for the main and auxiliary boxes. The speaker has a peak power output of 148W (single 74W) and features a 26.5mm tweeter, as well as an 82mm mid-bass unit. The Hi-Res and Wireless Hi-Res double gold label certification underscores the quality output of the new Edifier speaker. It has a sampling rate of 96kHz/24 bit, a transmission bit rate of 990kbps, and a frequency response range of 40kHz. Furthermore, the speaker supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, as well as AUX, optical audio source input, and LDAC high-definition decoding. Nubia Z60 Ultra specifications

The Nubia Z60 Ultra has a 6.8-inch OLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the display, the device is equipped with a 12-megapixel front-facing camera and a fingerprint sensor. It comes preinstalled with My OS 14-based Android 14.

Under the hood, the Z60 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. It has a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. There is no support for wireless charging on the device.

Following its appearance on NCC certification with details around its specifications and design, the smartphone appears to have made it to the Bluetooth SIG. Bearing the model code V2318, the smartphone appeared with Bluetooth 5.4 on the certification. As per rumors, it could be the rebadged version of the Vivo S18 Series, which launched a few days ago in China.

The listing does not reveal any other information but confirms the upcoming launch. The Vivo V30 may launch globally instead of the Vivo S18 mid-range smartphone series, which is now retailing on its home turf. The Vivo V30 series is expected to launch in three different models, including the Vivo V30 standard, Vivo V30 Lite, and Vivo V30 Pro.

The Vivo V30 was spotted on NCC in a black color option featuring a large rectangular dual-square camera setup with an LED flash. The curved edges of the phone seem to offer a better grip and a more comfortable hold on the smartphone. Further, the listing enables the presence of a punch-hole cutout, a USB Type-C port, speaker grills, a SIM tray section, and a primary microphone.

Further, the phone will feature a 4895 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The NCC listing also reveals the presence of up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage on the phone. Its Geekbench listing somehow confirms the presence of the recently announced Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.

The Vivo V30 Lite version is also in the works, as it has already been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG and Google Play Console with some fine details about specifications. The smartphone seems to bundle up to 12GB of RAM and confirms to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. It will come with a dual-camera setup featuring an Aura Ring LED. The display offers 2400 x 1080 resolution and 440 PPI density. Some reports cite it as having a 4700 mAh battery supporting 44W fast charging.

Well, the Vivo V30 is expected to launch early next year. However, we expect more leaks and features to unveil details about the device before the actual launch.

Along with the Honor Magic 6 Series launch date, the company has also spilled the beans on the upcoming Honor X50 Pro 5G smartphone via a new poster. Alongside decoding the Honor X50 Pro 5G design, the poster also confirms some hardware specifications. There’s no denying that we could see the Honor X50 Pro launch around the Magic 6 Series launch date, which is scheduled for January 10 to January 11.

As per the poster, the smartphone appears to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ SoC, a 5800 mAh battery, and a 1.5K curved display with eye-protection certification. The poster also reveals details about the availability of two color options: green and black. The circular camera module, consisting of at least a couple of cameras with an LED flash, is quite visible on the rear side.

As it comes from the same Honor X50 lineage, it seems to carry the same design philosophy as the circular round camera module. However, the Honor X50 is available in four color options: orange, elegant black, white, and blue.

Honro X50 Pro Specifications and Features (Expected)

There are scarce details available about the Honor X50 Pro. The device was spotted on the 3C certification, confirming support for up to 35W fast wired charging. As per leaks, the upcoming Honor smartphone could come with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. It will also carry support for NFC for wireless patents.

Alongside, the Honro X50 GT is also set to launch with a 6.81-inch FHD+ OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 4800mAh battery.

Earlier this month, the Psyche spacecraft, situated 19 million miles from Earth, transmitted a unique message: a 15-second ultra-high definition video of an orange cat named Taters playfully chasing a laser dot. This event marked the first time a UHD streaming video was sent from deep space to Earth using laser technology.

The Psyche spacecraft, launched in October, is en route to study a metal-rich asteroid located in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The mission’s success in transmitting this video is more than just a quirky space anecdote. It represents a significant leap in space communication technology.

The video was initially uploaded to the spacecraft before its departure and then beamed back to Earth on December 11. The transmission, using a flight laser transceiver aboard the spacecraft, reached Earth in just 101 seconds. To put this into perspective, Psyche was about 80 times farther from Earth than the moon is at the time of transmission. The data transfer rate achieved was an impressive 267 Mbps.

What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is the efficiency and speed of the data transfer. According to Ryan Rogalin, the receiver electronics lead for the project at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the video was sent back to Earth faster than most broadband internet connections. In fact, after the video arrived at the Palomar Observatory, it was relayed to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory over the internet, and this terrestrial connection was actually slower than the laser signal from deep space.

This successful demonstration of laser communications from deep space opens new possibilities for future space missions. Oppo plans to unveil the exciting advancements and innovative features that the new Oppo Find X7 series could carry. In the camera section, the standard version will house a 50MP LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens, and a 64MP Omnivision OV64 telephoto lens with 3x zoom and OIS support. The Ultra versions will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor with OIS and a 50MP LYT800 ultrawide. There will be a couple of telephoto lenses, including a 50MP IMX858 sensor with OIS and 6x optical zoom and a 50MP IMX890 sensor with OIS and 3x optical zoom.

All three devices will feature the same 5000 mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging. While the Ultra variants will additionally support 50W wireless charging,. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra’s packaging box has also been leaked, giving us a glimpse of it.

The Magic 6 series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and run on the latest Magic OS 8.0 UI. Since Honor hasn’t revealed anything else about the Magic 6 series, it is expected to roll out new teasers in the coming days to confirm the key features of the Magic 6 lineup and Magic OS 8.0.

A Reddit user named NoisilyMarvellous recently shared the dangers of using cheap accessories with a post. He revealed how connecting his recently purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max to the charger resulted in the cable melting, causing burns both to his hand and the phone. Upon careful examination of the image, the first noticeable detail was that the charging cable used was not an original Apple product.

Reddit user “I knew the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets hot, but a month into use mine got so hot while charging overnight that it literally left a burn on my finger. When I took the charger off, it had melted some of the plastic, “left burn marks on the body and stuck the metal part of the USB-C port into the phone,” he said.

It is important to note that using accessories from brands different than Apple won’t damage your phone. For example, it’s much more sensible to use products from official partners that have passed the company’s quality control tests. However, using a product from an unknown brand just because it’s cheap can lead to serious consequences, much like what happened to NoisilyMarvellous and their $1000+ phone.

OPPO is hard at work rolling out the ColorOS 14 update, based on Android 14 to all of its eligible devices. After recently rolling out the stable version to devices like the OPPO A77, A77s, and A57. ColorOS 14 Open beta testing for the OPPO A58 has also begun as well.

OPPO is inviting Indian users of the OPPO A58 to participate in the Android 14 Beta Testing Program, aiming to enlist 5000 members for this phase. If you’re an OPPO A58 user in India, this opportunity allows you to play a direct role in refining the operating system of your device. To be eligible, a basic appreciation for ColorOS and a practical understanding of mobile devices are required. Testers should also be prepared to encounter potential issues like instability and incompatibility, inherent to Alpha versions.

The application window for the Open Beta Test is limited, running from December 25 to December 28. During this period, interested users must submit their applications, ensuring their OPPO A58 is updated to version CPH2577_14.0.0.80(EX01).

Applicants must acknowledge that Open Beta Test versions may be unstable, and users must be patient during this phase. To mitigate potential data loss due to incompatibility, OPPO recommends backing up essential data before initiating the update.

Application process:

To apply for the Android 14 Beta Testing Program, follow a simple two-step process. First, navigate to Settings on your device, proceed to About device, tap the top of the page, select the icon on the top right, and choose Trial versions, then Beta. Fill in your information, ensuring accuracy, as a satisfaction survey will be sent to collect your feedback. Finally, hit “Apply Now.” After successfully submitting your application, proceed to Step 2: Update your device by going to About device and selecting Download Now. The application review process takes approximately 5 workdays, during which OPPO will assess your eligibility for the program.

After updating, users may experience temporary issues such as heating, lagging, and fast battery draining as the Operating System performs optimization actions. Users are advised to charge their devices overnight or continue normal use, as these concerns typically resolve within a few days.

The Doogee T20E Android tablet has been revealed and could make its way to shelves soon. The new Doogee offering is possibly designed for beginners and will take over from the Doogee T20 tablet launched in December 2022. It features a 10.4-inch screen and a four-speaker setup. Media reports indicate that the T20E has been under development for a while.

Features

The Doogee T20E is expected to be competitively priced to attract customers looking for a tablet for playing media or web browsing. The display has a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels but lacks Widevine certification. This means that certain content from some streaming platforms like Netflix may not play at full resolution. The Doogee T20E Android tablet is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T616 with two Cortex A75 and six Cortex A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU.

The T20E tablet has dimensions of 245.8 x 155.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 478 grams. It offers up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable internal storage. The storage can only be expanded if you do not use the second SIM module in the tablet. The T20E has a permanently installed 8,300mAh battery that can be rapidly charged with up to 18W power. The battery performance optics are lacking for the tablet at this time. It is also unclear what version of Android the tablet will debut with.

Doogee has continued to carve a niche for itself as a manufacturer of rugged smartphones and it is expected that the T20E should come with some degree of ruggedness. There are still a few things about the Android tablet that are lacking at this time.

Doogee has not released the pricing and availability information for the tablet, nor has it provided the release date. Most Doogee products have been sold via Amazon and expectedly, the T20E Android tablet should also be available on Amazon.
