OPPO partners with AMBUSH for a special Find N3 Flip case

OPPO and fashion brand AMBUSH have teamed up to design a special case for the OPPO Find N3 Flip phone. The case, called the Flipped Padlock, was created by AMBUSH creative director Yoon Ahn and draws inspiration from their popular Heart Padlock Bag.

The case comes in a trendy pink shade and a cool metal handle. It, unsurprisingly, opens like a heart, which reveals the phone’s inner display across two halves. Plus, there’s a handy viewing window on the front that keeps the camera and second screen accessible all the time.

For those unfamiliar, AMBUSH is a luxury streetwear brand owned by Korean-American fashion designer Yoon Ahn. The brand draws inspiration from Tokyo’s 80s pop culture and pop art, creating bold, unisex designs across their collections. They’ve also collaborated with giants like Nike, Converse, and Moët & Chandon on limited-edition pieces.

OPPO says the OPPO X AMBUSH Flipped Padlock case for Find N3 Flip will be released in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines, however, it will not be available for sale.

Talking about Find N3 Flip’s specifications, the foldable comes with a 6.8-inch LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits of brightness. The secondary display on the device measures 3.2 inches and its also an AMOLED panel covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.

On the imaging front, the OPPO Find N3 Flip sports a triple rear camera setup of a 50MP OIS-enabled main sensor, a 32MP telephoto unit, and a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 32MP front-facing snapper.

Powering the OPPO Find N3 Flip is powered by a Dimensity 9200 processor coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is backed by a 4,300mAh battery unit with support for 44W fast charging. The foldable phone ships with Android 13 with guaranteed 4 years of OS updates.

A former Rockstar developer has shed some light on some reasons behind the delay in the PC port for the upcoming GTA 6 game or other games. Many are excited about the confirmation of GTA 6 availability on XBox Series S/X and the PlayStation 5 via the trailer itself, but many are still curious as to when and if the game will be released on the PC. The game, which took over a decade to develop and created history with the trailer on YouTube, will still take some time to officially launch on gaming consoles.

Rockstar initially launches games for consoles and then comes for PC, which usually takes from a few months to a few years. Mike York, the game developer, has now explained the reasons for the PC port’s delay. He also sheds some light on why Rockstar game developers focus more on the console versions of the game.

While explaining on his YouTube channel, York Reacts, he discusses the delays in PC ports, using GTA 6 as an example. It also emphasizes the importance of prioritizing console development before heading to the PC ports.

Reasons for Delay in PC Port for GTA 6:

As per York, the Developers take time to optimize console versions, concentrating on the platforms with higher sales, like Play Station, etc. Further, making the PC port the best involves refining and enhancing games based on the new possibilities offered by PC hardware. The diverse hardware configurations make it difficult for the developers to refine each bug and take a longer time in development.

In an example, York explained, “Most of the time, especially in the past, PlayStation was the big seller…so what the developer would do is focus all their energy on making sure the PlayStation port and the PlayStation game works really well”, and “When I was working on GTA 5 for instance, we would concentrate on the PS3 and the Xbox at the time but we were mainly pushing the PS3 to the limits.”

After development, the testing process gets extensive due to different GPUs and CPUs. The limited resources and manpower on the developer end led to the prioritization of console versions over PC ports. These issues are also lingering over the PC port development of GTA 6.

The video also cites examples of poorly received PC ports, like Arkham Asylum. Further, he even asks for the users’ patience and understanding of the complexity of PC port development.

The Chinese tech giant shared new teasers on its official Weibo account. Looking at the social media posts, the battery specifications and storage details were listed for the new S18 lineup. As per official notes, the Vivo S18 series will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that promises to offer 13.5 hours of battery life on a single full charge. The company further claims that this cell has a 4 year long life and even promises 4 years of free battery replacement.

This battery size is quite impressive considering it is packed in an ultra thin body that measures just 7.45mm in thickness and weighs just 185.8 grams in weight. In a separate teaser, Vivo confirmed that the Vivo S18 will also launch in three storage configurations. This includes a 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB storage option. Notably, users can virtually expand RAM by another 16GB and the devices also support storage compression up to 50GB.

Thanks to this, Vivo claims that users can store up to 10,000 HD pictures and retain 49 apps in the background. This was all the information shared on the teasers. Lu Weibing, partner and president of Xiaomi Group, as well as president of the international department and general manager of the Redmi brand suggested that the wider gap observed aligns with OnePlus’ internal quality control standards, implying that Xiaomi’s standards are more stringent.

In response, Li Jie, president of OnePlus China, issued an official statement, assuring consumers that the reported issues were not indicative of a quality or design problem. Li Jie explained that the OnePlus 12’s battery cover, lens module, and middle frame involve three different materials and adopt a curved surface design in certain areas. The camera deco serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, enhancing mobile signal reception.

Li Jie clarified that the design choices made do not compromise the phone’s waterproofing and dustproof features, as these are addressed by sealing processes and coatings below the camera module. He emphasized that variations in the thermal expansion and contraction coefficients of different materials necessitate a certain tolerance in manufacturing to prevent breakage.

Addressing user concerns, Li Jie promised that if customers are dissatisfied with the product upon receipt, the customer service team has been directed to open a green channel for swift exchanges or returns.

Furthermore, Li Jie expressed his disapproval of what he termed “malicious competition” from some brand executives who, in his view, were attempting to mislead the public. He described such behavior as rare and detrimental.

Google Messages might be getting a text editing feature soon. A recent teardown of the app’s code reveals hints of a text editing feature, potentially letting you fix typos or update messages after hitting send.

This news comes courtesy of TheSpAndroid, who unearthed evidence of the feature hidden within the November update. Specifically, they found four new flags within the code:

bugle.process_outgoing_edits
bugle.process_incoming_edits

The clues point to a chat app with message-editing features. The first flag hints at an interface for making changes, while another reveals the ability to see past edits. The third and fourth define how edits are sent and received.

Furthermore, the teardown indicates a new database for storing edit metadata, including timestamps and revision history. This suggests a well-rounded editing experience with detailed tracking of changes.

Now, it’s important to note that message editing isn’t officially part of the Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard. But that hasn’t stopped Google from adding new features.

The company implemented end-to-end encryption in Messages even though it wasn’t part of the original RCS standard.

The big question: when can Android users expect this text-editing feature? Unfortunately, the beta build currently offers no clues, and the feature might still be under development. However, there’s also the possibility that Google might ultimately decide to scrap it if it’s not feasible for the company.

Editing sent messages is common among messaging apps, from WhatsApp to Telegram. So, Google might simply be following suit and adding this feature to their Messages app.

A new OnePlus truly wireless earbuds seem to be on the horizon. The company’s next hearables could be the Nord Buds 3, which is a part of the brand’s affordable product lineup. Now, the full design of this device has been revealed via 5K CAD renders.

The renders were shared by known tipster OnLeaks, who shared fresh images of the Nord Buds 3 with MySmartPrice. For those unaware, the OnePlus Nord series offers products at an affordable price range. So the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 will also be more affordable than its mainline OnePlus Buds series. Looking at the renders, the upcoming earbuds feature a pebble charging case that has a glossy lid cover while the rest of the case has a matte finish and the company branding.

Meanwhile, the earbuds come with an in-ear and stem design. As the name suggests, the Nord Buds 3 is the direct successor to the Nord Buds 2, which earlier this year. Unfortunately, no other finer details like pricing or specifications regarding the Nord Buds 3 were shared by the tipster. However, this isn’t the only new Buds model that the brand is working on. The OnePlus Buds 3 was recently spotted on major certification platforms like BIS and FCC.

This flagship grade hearables surfaced on a Canadian certification as well. Similar to the Nord Buds 3, the OnePlus Buds 3’s design was also revealed via leaked renders. Based on what we know so far, the Buds 3 will feature a dual driver setup that consists of a 10.4mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. It is rumored to offer 48dC ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and feature an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance. Last May, OnePlus launched a smartphone exclusively for its home market China. The device goes by OnePlus Ace Racing Edition.

As the name suggests, it is a variant of OnePlus Ace (aka OnePlus 10R). It offers the same chipset as the regular model but at a cheaper price by downgrading other specs.

The device was already affordable when it was initially released. Now, is being sold at more than half the original retail price.

The top-end 12GB + 256GB memory configuration of the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition was introduced at ¥2,499 (~$350). More than a year after its debut, the handset is now up for grabs at just ¥1,139 (~$160) on JD.

This limited-time clearance deal brings down the price of the product by a whopping 54%. At this price, there’s not a single phone on the market that can rival its performance.

Nubia Z60 Ultra design, color variants officially confirmed

On Dec. 19, Nubia will unveil the Nubia Z60 Ultra in China. A recently seen image showcased the design of the white variant of the device. Today, the brand released a couple of posters to reveal the design as well as color variants of the Z60 Ultra.

Nubia Z60 Ultra design revealed

As can be seen, the Nubia Z60 Ultra will be available in three shades, such as black, silver, and blue. On the front, the device sports a full-screen display that is devoid of punch-hole or notch. The back panel of the phone has a unique design for the rear camera setup, which features two cameras on the left and an LED flash, with Nubia branding a periscope zoom camera unit on the right.

While the black and white variants of the device have a plain look on the rear, the blue variant’s rear panel has a galaxy-like pattern, which adds to its beauty. The edges of the phone are flat, and its right edge can be seen sporting a volume rocker, a red-colored powered button, and an alert slider-like switch.

Nubia Z60 Ultra specifications (rumored)

As per reports, the Nubia Z60 Ultra will arrive with a 6.8-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W charging.
