Redmi K70E front design is revealed by its performance test video

The performance tests of the Redmi K70E have just surfaced online. The video showcasing the Redmi K70E provides a glimpse of its front design, featuring an ultra-narrow edge flat display. The display appears to maintain an equal width on three sides, with a slightly wider chin at the bottom. Notably, the middle frame also adopts a flat design. It represents a unified design aesthetic, which is expected to be consistent across the K70 series.

Redmi K70E offers a flat design following the industry trend

Redmi K70E front design

This design approach has been well-received in the market, especially following its successful implementation in some recent flagships such as the Xiaomi 14.

While the Xiaomi 14 comes with a price tag exceeding 4000 yuan ($560), the Redmi K70 series aims to bring the flat design aesthetic to a more budget-friendly range. This ensures that users with varying budgets can still enjoy the modern design without breaking the bank.

The Redmi K70E introduces another noteworthy feature as the world’s first to be powered by the Dimensity 8300-Ultra model. The Antutu running score for this device achieves an impressive 1,526,328 points, showcasing its substantial processing power. In performance-intensive scenarios, such as running “Genshin Impact” at 720p, the device maintains an impressive 58.9fps. So it may very well offer a great value with the combination of both.

Under the hood, the Dimensity 8300 utilizes TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process. The CPU configuration includes 4× Cortex A715 + 4 Cortex A510 + 4 × Cortex A510, featuring a CPU frequency reaching up to 3.35GHz. Complementing the powerful CPU, the GPU is a Mali-G615 MC6, contributing to an outstanding overall performance.

In summary, the Redmi K70E emerges as a budget-friendly powerhouse, combining cutting-edge design elements with powerful hardware, setting the stage for a new standard in midrange smartphones.

Meanwhile, the event will feature China’s first look at the newest OnePlus 12 smartphone.

Now, a new leak from a reliable source has surfaced on X (previously Twitter), where the tipster suggests that the OnePlus 12 5G will hit the global market in January 2024. Unfortunately, a specific date for the launch is unknown.

OnePlus 12 tipped to launch globally in January 2024
OnePlus 12 tipped to launch globally in January 2024

Max Jambor on X (previously Twitter) double-quoted the term “Series” in the post, which makes us think that more than one phone may be released at the event. It’s possible that the OnePlus 12R could be the second product in this lineup.

For your reference, the OnePlus 11R and the standard OnePlus 11 were introduced together in India last year. Consequently, the OnePlus Ace 3 could get a rebadge as the 12R for certain regions.

OnePlus 12 specifications: Expected

The OnePlus 12 is expected to have a 6.82-inch BOE X1 OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 2K resolution. Similar to the iQOO 12 series and the Xiaomi 14 series, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor will be included in the OnePlus 12 lineup.

The primary camera will reportedly be paired with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom and a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens. The phone is anticipated to have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

The company has already said that the HyperTone camera optimizations and the LYT-T808 primary camera sensor will be the focal points of its rear camera arrangement.

It is anticipated that the new OP 12’s highest configuration model may come with 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. It is probably going to have a 5,400mAh battery that can be charged at 50W wireless and 100W wired. It should run on Android 14 based on ColorOS 14.

Alldocube iWork GT 12 Review: First 2-in-1 PC Powered by AMD, Built to Beat Surface?

If you want to buy a 2-in-1 PC, most of the options are with Intel processors in this market. But today I got my hands on the latest portable PC from Alldocube, the Alldocube iWork GT 12, which is the first 2-in-1 PC powered by an AMD processor. We finally got another option and it’s surprisingly an inexpensive model of its kind. So the question is if this first 2-in-1 PC powered by an AMD processor can rival the Surface.

Here’s a very interesting meme in China about AMD that I want to share with you guys. Every time AMD becomes competitive again bringing great alternatives. Gamers would say ‘AMD, Yes!’ like ‘shouting yeah’ to an underdog who won the game. So this time, I must say ‘AMD, yes!’

Giveaway at the end of November

This is our first try, and we hope that while we keep running this channel, more of our friends will enjoy the benefits of tech products! Good luck to all of you! Back to the review. Now the question is: how would this 2-in-1 PC with an AMD processor perform? Let’s find out the answer.

Design

In terms of Design, the front of the iWork GT 12 is similar to a typical Android tablet, coming with a 12.6-inch 3:2 ratio screen and a compact body. However, on the sides, there is a sloping design, which visually reduces the thickness of the tablet. Well, pretty smart trick. iWork GT 12 weighs around 915g, so I would like to place it on a table or my lap more often. But if only for light entertainment, I prefer to hold it in my hands, while touching the display for operation without the keyboard kit. The lightweight is just good for that.

The shell has a nice grey look, and the back with a matt finish rejects fingerprints and stains well. There are also metal contacts on the bottom for attaching the keyboard. It’s worth noting that this PC has two cameras at the front and back like an Android tablet, the image shot on both for video conferencing is good, but for such a budget PC, I wouldn’t ask for anything more about its image quality.

In terms of ports, the iWork GT 12 has two full-featured USB3.2 GEN 2 type-C ports, which not only support charging and data transfer but also external monitors. Not only that, it also has a USB 3.2 GEN-2 type-A port, which means that in most cases, I don’t have to use the type-C docking station. And the GT 12 also has a headphone jack and supports TF card expansion up to 512GB. It is safe to say, no one will be disappointed by its expandability.

Hardware

In terms of performance, iWork GT 12 is equipped with a 4 core 8 thread AMD Ryzen5 7520U processor, along with 16GB LPDDR5 memory, it is unusual to see such a hardware combo in a 2-in-1 PC. As for the actual theoretical performance, I first tested it in CPU-Z, the 7520U performance is roughly equivalent to the same 4-core 8-thread desktop CPU- the i7 4790k. Compared to the latest flagship processors, the 7520U’s single-core performance is about half that of the i9-13900k. But please keep in mind that the 7520U is a mobile processor with 15w TDP. So from this aspect, really nothing to complain.

After that, I ran 2 rounds of tests with the latest Cinebench 2024, and the results showed that the multi-core performance was about half of the i9-9880h, and the single core was about 85% of the i9-9880h.

Overall, in terms of extreme performance, thanks to the TSMC 6nm, the chipset really exceeded my expectations. Overall, it’s hard to find someone using such a device to run high-performance software like C4D, Blender, AE, and so on. Now with the 7520U processor, the iWork GT 12 is perfectly suited for my office and entertainment needs.

During the performance test, I found that the CPU was running at a high clocking, which made me curious about the CPU strategy of the iWork GT 12. During a ten-minute CPU stress test in AIDA64, the CPU’s power consumption was close to 20w at the beginning, and the CPU was running at a high clocking of 4GHZ or even more. And eventually, the CPU’s power was stabilized at 15w.

with the CPU clocking still at 3.8GHZ. and the CPU temperature was 93°. This is a very good performance for a portable PC. And during the stress test, the fan speed was pretty calm, I could only hear a subtle airflow sound. There is no sharp airflow noise like most gaming laptops.

Please watch the video

The 7520U has an integrated AMD Radeon 610M GPU that uses the very advanced RDN2 architecture, which is very nice, but the Radeon 610M only has 2 CU units.

For gaming tests, first we run the Genshin Impact. Under 1080P graphics, the PC runs at an average framerate of 45fps. In the CSGO, turn it down to 720P resolution, the iWork PC could still run at 100fps. The good news is that the temperature control is excellent. And thanks to RDN2, the 610M GPU supports the latest AV1 hardware decoding, so the iWork GT 12 is great for light gaming and video play.

The 16GB of dual channel LPDDR5 memory is excellent, and it’s hard to see such a memory configuration at the same price. Paired with a 512GB NVME storage, this is a very competitive combination.

Screen

There is no doubt that the screen is the highlight of the iWork GT 12, it uses a 3:2 ratio of 12.6-inch IPS screen, the resolution reached 2K level, the screen is clear and delicate, and in the brightness of the performance is also very good, even if you use it outdoors, the brightness of the screen is also very satisfying.

And the screen also supports 10-point touch and 4096 levels of pressure-sensitive handwriting, so in this price range it is amazingly competitive. Although I can conveniently have touch control on the display without any input accessories, I have to say that the iWork GT 12 also impressed me a lot with its smooth stylus experience.

User experience

In terms of software, iWork GT 12 comes with Windows 11 Home Edition pre-installed, and when paired with the 7520U, the experience is very smooth. it gives me a very good experience in my daily officing and movie watching, and since it’s a 2-in-1 PC, I can use it pretty much anywhere, lying down on the sofa or bed as I want for casual gaming.

Keyboard

In terms of keyboard, the iWork GT 12 uses the same keyboard layout as the Surface, compared to the previous keyboard we used, which was also from Alldocube, the GT 12’s keyboard is a significant step up in look and quality, and the typing experience is just as good, and the touchpad is nothing different from most windows laptops’.

Battery & Charge

the iWork GT 12 has a built-in 5500mAh battery, so it can last for about 4 hours for web browsing and office work. Well that’s not bad for an x86 device.

For charging, it supports up to 45w of PD fast charging and gets fully charged in about an hour, I’m very happy with the iWork GT 12 due to the support of the PD protocol and USB-C port. As a truly portable computer, the 2-in-1 PC seems to know what it’s supposed to do.

Verdict.

The new iWork GT is a very versatile 2-in-1 PC, with an AMD Ryzen processor and an excellent touchable screen, but more surprisingly with a friendly price tag. This iWork GT 12 is going to be a new option in the market, and I would love to see Alldocube release more 2-in-1 PC with AMD processors. If you want to buy such PC for office work and entertainment, this is a great fit. And don’t forget to join our giveaway, just let us know if you guys like it. And also check out the affordable iWork GT 12 in Geekwills.

Tencent’s Big Move into AI-Enhanced Healthcare in China

Tencent Holdings, a major player in China‘s tech sector, is making bold moves into the healthcare industry, leveraging its expertise in social media and artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative is part of a larger trend where big tech firms are seeking to revolutionize China’s burgeoning healthcare market.

Tencent is relying on its LLM, Hunyuan which is already integrated with WeChat

At the forefront of Tencent’s healthcare endeavors is its large language model (LLM), Hunyuan, integrated with popular social media tools like WeCom and WeChat. This strategic fusion is designed to offer specialized AI solutions to clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, including big names like AstraZeneca. Alexander Ng, the head of Tencent Healthcare, emphasizes the focus on enhancing the pharmaceutical industry’s academic grasp of drugs, rather than just marketing outcomes.

Tencent

Tencent’s foray into healthcare isn’t limited to AI models. They have also developed consumer and business-facing products like Miying, an AI medical imaging tool, and a medical insurance payment service integrated with WeChat. These innovations represent Tencent’s commitment to redefining the way healthcare operates in China, a market expected to reach a staggering $311.5 billion by 2026.

However, the healthcare sector’s adoption of AI has been more measured compared to other industries, given the high stakes involved in patient well-being. Chinese authorities have implemented regulations to limit AI’s use in healthcare, including banning AI-generated medical prescriptions and emphasizing that AI cannot replace doctors in diagnosis and treatment.

Despite these regulations, there’s significant potential for AI to augment the medical sector, especially in assisting doctors. With China’s ageing population and the consequent strain on medical resources, Tencent sees an opportunity to transform healthcare delivery. This includes not just traditional doctor-patient interactions but also self-service models on internet platforms, offering disease prevention tips, managing chronic illnesses, and providing educational medical live-streaming sessions.

This ingenious feature could mean the end of lukewarm, soggy pizzas that have suffered the indignities of traffic jams and long delivery routes.

Dominos

But the dxb isn’t just about keeping pizzas hot; it’s also about delivering them safely. Navigating through urban landscapes can be challenging, especially over rough terrains or up and down curbs. Here’s where the dxb’s so-called “space age suspension” comes into play. This advanced suspension system, reportedly reducing G-forces by up to 67%, promises a smooth ride for both the delivery person and the pizza. Your pizza arrives not just hot, but also perfectly intact, as if it’s just been sliced on the kitchen counter.

Aside from these innovations, the dxb remains a practical e-bike at its core, equipped with 20-inch wheels and a battery pack integrated into the downtube. It’s tailored for city use, agile enough to zip through traffic and efficient in its energy use. While the full specs of its motor and range remain under wraps, what’s clear is that the dxb is designed for efficiency and convenience.

However, not everyone will get to experience this hot-wheeled delivery service. The dxb is set to hit the roads in Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (DPE) markets, excluding the United States. DPE’s reach spans across countries like Australia, New Zealand, and several European and Asian nations. It’s a glimpse into the future of food delivery, one where technology meets the love for a hot slice of pizza. This innovation from Domino’s could set a new standard in the food delivery industry, especially in urban areas where speed and efficiency are important.

Hero MotoCorp Unveils Vida Concept Lynx, an Off-Road Electric Dirtbike

The off-road motorcycle scene is witnessing a remarkable transformation with the advent of electric dirtbikes, and Hero MotoCorp’s latest creation, the Vida Concept Lynx, is a standout example of this evolution. Unveiled at EICMA 2023, the Concept Lynx marks Hero’s ambitious entry into the electric off-road market, a segment rapidly gaining momentum for its sustainable and high-performance offerings.

The bike showcases a combination of low weight and high torque

Central to the appeal of electric off-roaders like the Vida Concept Lynx is their unique combination of light weight and high torque, characteristics essential for challenging off-road environments. The Concept Lynx weighs in at a mere 82 kilograms (around 181 pounds), a feat that enhances its agility and responsiveness. This lightweight design doesn’t compromise on power; the bike’s mid-mounted electric motor delivers a zippy 15 kilowatts (approximately 21 horsepower). This power, along with the instant torque characteristic of electric motors, promises exhilarating performance on rugged terrains.

Honda Electric

Vida’s design inspiration for the Lynx is as intriguing as its specifications. Mimicking the agility of a lynx cat, the bike is engineered for superior maneuverability and control. It excels in steep climbs and navigating through challenging landscapes like rocky terrains, loose gravel, and sandy paths. The bike’s frame, featuring an exposed trellis structure, not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also plays a crucial role in reducing its overall weight.

Another notable aspect of the Concept Lynx is its integration of modern, connected technologies. With smartphone connectivity and a dedicated mobile app, riders can tailor the bike’s performance settings to suit their riding style and the demands of the terrain they’re conquering. However, in its pursuit of minimal weight, the Lynx compromises on battery range, offering a compact three-kilowatt-hour battery pack that supports about an hour of intense riding.

Currently, the Vida Concept Lynx remains a concept, with Hero MotoCorp and its electric subsidiary Vida still silent on the pricing and availability details.

Huawei Reassures Global Users! “Android App Support Remains”

Despite facing numerous challenges, Huawei continues to maintain its presence in the smartphone market. In fact, the company has not only maintained its position but is also experiencing a revival with recent strategic moves. For example, the Mate 60 series has outperformed even the iPhone 15 in its home market of China, and the company has also announced its intention to permanently transition from Android to its own HarmonyOS Next operating system. However, this shift away from Android has caused some confusion among users, particularly those outside of China. Fortunately, Huawei has recently assured its global users that they will still be able to install Android apps on their Huawei phones. Here are the details…

Huawei’s HarmonyOS Shift Doesn’t Affect Global Android Users

Huawei’s newly introduced HarmonyOS Next marks a groundbreaking shift in the company’s operating system strategy. Unlike its predecessor, HarmonyOS Next is not built upon the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) but rather developed from the ground up. This significant change, however, comes with a crucial implication: users of HarmonyOS Next will no longer be able to install Android applications in APK format. Even if these apps are somehow installed, they will not function properly.

HarmonyOS Next

The issue is that Huawei users outside of China thought they would also be affected by this problem, but it turns out that only Huawei users in China will be using the new operating system, so they won’t have to worry about it. Users that outside of China will still be able to use Android-based applications through the EMUI operating system. So, there’s no need to worry about this issue affecting your device. Here’s Huawei official statement on the matter:

“HarmonyOS operating system is designed to meet the needs of the Internet of Everything (IoE) era. It provides a shared language that enables a smart and connected experience across different devices. HarmonyOS 4 has been installed on over 100 million devices in a short period of around three months, catering to these capabilities. However, there is currently no plan for the distribution of HarmonyOS for devices outside of China. Consequently, Huawei users outside of China will continue using their usual Android-based applications with the EMUI operating system.”

Samsung may use blue PHOLED in Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 7 by H2 2025

According to reports from Korean media source The Elec, Samsung Display is making significant progress in OLED technology, specifically in the development of blue phosphorescent OLED (PHOLED) components.

Samsung Flip series

Samsung May Shift to Blue PHOLED for Future Foldables

Currently, red and green OLED components in displays utilize phosphorescent materials with a 100% internal luminous efficiency, while blue OLEDs use less efficient fluorescent materials with only 25% efficiency. Samsung’s goal is to replace these less efficient blue fluorescent materials with more effective blue light-emitting materials, which could potentially lead to a reduction in overall OLED power consumption.

Market research firm UBI Research reports that this new material set, expected to be part of Samsung Display’s flexible OLED material set M15, targets a launch in the second half of 2025. Initially, expectations were set for the introduction of blue PHOLED materials in mid-2024. However, the timeline has been pushed to the second half of 2025 due to developmental challenges.

The new blue PHOLED materials are projected to achieve a luminous efficiency of at least 55% and a brightness efficiency of over 65% compared to the materials used in previous sets like M11 and M13.

There is speculation, as reported by Sammobile, that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 might be the first devices to adopt the new blue PHOLED technology in 2025. However, this information is still unconfirmed, and concerns about durability may impact its use in mainstream devices. The blue PHOLED materials under development have a lifespan that is only 55% of that of blue fluorescent materials.

While the transition to blue PHOLED has the potential to significantly reduce power consumption, the longevity of these materials remains a concern. Despite these challenges, Samsung‘s advancement in blue PHOLED technology is seen as a major achievement in the OLED industry.
