Microsoft is adding new capabilities to the Windows Photos app, such as the ability to instantly remove backgrounds from images. Version 2023.11110.8002.0 of the Photos app for Windows is currently available to Windows Insiders and enhances several aspects of the current experience.
The main attraction here is background removal, which was brought to Microsoft Paint a few weeks ago and is now available in Windows Photos. Windows Photos has the same one-click automated background removal feature as other photo editing programs.
Background Remove and Replace
The generated photos may be saved or copied to the clipboard, and the backdrop can be changed to a solid colour. Most of the time, the results won’t be flawless, but it’s always a good idea to have as many features as possible in Microsoft programs that are pre-configured for common daily chores like browsing the internet or viewing images.
Microsoft Updates Windows Photos app with Background Remover and Replace
Using a solid colour in place of the chosen backdrop is an additional choice. To choose the appropriate colour, use the colour picker. You may specify the RGB values, click on the palette, or input a hex colour code.

Filmstrip
Windows has also redesigned the Filmstrap. Now, each photo has a Filmstrip of thumbnails at the bottom that you can use to quickly examine other images in the same folder and quickly choose numerous images for inspection and comparison. Your suggestions have led us to revamp the Filmstrip user experience:
Filmstrip is turned off when opening a photo, by default.
To turn on Filmstrip, you must press the “F” key or click on the icon in the bottom left corner.
To enable the best viewing experience and improve usability, Microsoft has moved the Filmstrip below the photo, enlarged the thumbnails, and added a larger scrollbar at the bottom so it’s easier to navigate and select the photo you’re looking for.
Filmstrip has been redesigned in the latest Microsoft Windows Photos app Update
Timeline Scrollbar
To make it easier for you to find the photo you’re searching for, the latest Windows introduced the Timeline Scrollbar to all folders and made it dynamically based on the time range of your photo collection.

Moreover, Numerous stability and speed improvements to enhance tab switching, opening photos, and the Slideshow function.
Note: You must Update to version 2023.11110.8002.0 or higher for the Photos app to gain these new capabilities. Through all available routes, Windows Insiders are receiving this update.
App sideloading, which affects both Apple and Google, has become rather popular in recent years. While Android has long accepted third-party programs and app shops, Apple is being compelled to make the shift. Certainly, Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai provided testimony on the company’s alleged practice of suppressing competition by charging app developers a premium in the legal dispute with Epic Games.
Later, Sundar Pichai clarified that to safeguard consumers from viruses and jeopardise their security, Google forbids sideloading programs on Android phones. He also highlighted, pointing to Android’s bigger and foldable phone designs, how Google’s principles allow for choice and creativity.
It’s intriguing to hear Pichai discuss sideloading, which Android has always embraced as an open-source platform. It is evident from the fact that he discusses viruses while installing programs from other app shops that the business is attempting to incite fear in the public. In reality, it has only begun to use the Play Protect function to examine Android apps that are sideloaded.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai Warns Android Users Not to Sideload Apps
Conclusion
It has been noted by many that Google will have more control over the apps that users may download. Although the business asserts that Play Store applications provide the highest level of protection for customers, a recent Kaspersky security study showed that 600 million malicious app downloads were recorded in 2023 alone from Google’s apps store.
Apple has long opposed the ability to sideload programs as it will not have any control over how or from where these apps are loaded on the iPhone, other than Pichai’s plea for safety.
The CEO is now echoing the sentiments which imply that the two digital behemoths are cognizant of the thirty per cent fee that each receives from developers who host their programmes on their own app stores. It makes sense that companies like Epic Games have chosen to host their software on a website instead of distributing it via app stores.
Samsung seems to be working on another fitness band that will likely debut in 2024. According to the source, the Galaxy Fit 3 appears to have a bigger display than its previous generation, the Galaxy Fit 2. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 pictures display the whole design of the smart band in addition to the colour variations that will be offered.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 has a big rectangular screen with thin bezels. Because the screen is bigger, we can expect more faces on the upcoming Galaxy Fit 2. On the right edge, there’s a tactile button and a microphone. The button serves as the on/off switch.
The Huawei Watch Fit, which functions as both a smartwatch and fitness tracker, shares a similar appearance. Wearing the fitness tracker for extended periods of time won’t hurt because of its boxy shape and rounded corners.

The silicone straps of the Fit 3 are supposed to be changeable. You may get the option to choose a strap that matches your style. Even though we can’t see it, the smartwatch may have a charging connection at the bottom. Moreover, the Galaxy Fit 3 will be available in Grey, Gold, and Black colors.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 Specifications (Rumored)
Samsung has been emphasising the integration of health and fitness into a significant portion of its ecosystem since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Galaxy Watch collection will be expanded with the release of the Galaxy Fit 3. It is said to have blood pressure, sleep, and heart rate monitoring. It cannot make or receive phone calls since it lacks a microphone and a loudspeaker.
The Watch is also reported to feature a 1.1-inch always-on AMOLED display with 5ATM water-resistant rating. Like with its predecessor, we anticipate that you will be able to control the watch using the Galaxy wearables app, which allows you to alter watch faces, set alarms, and access Find My Tracker.
According to reports, the fitness band may feature a 200 mAh battery capacity, which is 41 mAh much more than the previous generation. It is likely to have a 5W charging.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any further information about the specification as of now. But, we would love to see if the fitness band features GPS technology.

Several major tech companies, including Apple, Disney, and Warner Bros Discovery, have paused their online advertising campaigns on X, formerly known as Twitter, after owner Elon Musk made an antisemitic remark on the platform.
The companies’ decision came in response to Musk’s reply to an X post that accused “Jewish communities” of pushing “hatred against whites.”
Major brands pull ads from X/Twitter over antisemitic posts
In response, Apple, and Disney have halted their X/Twitter ad campaigns, as first reported by Axios and The New York Times, respectively. Warner Bros Discovery, IBM, Paramount Global, and Lions Gate Entertainment have also suspended campaigns on the site.
An IBM spokesperson said that the company had “zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination” and that it had “immediately suspended all advertising on X while we investigate this entirely unacceptable situation.”
The move comes as Musk faces growing criticism for his handling of X. Earlier this week, the site was accused of platforming antisemitism after it was revealed that ads from several major companies, including Apple and IBM, were being displayed next “to content that touts Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party.”
Musk has also been criticized by White House spokesman Andrew Bates, who said that Musk’s remarks were “unacceptable” and “hideous.” Bates also accused Musk of repeating “the lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history.”
The suspension of advertising by several major companies is a significant blow to X’s finances. The site relies heavily on advertising revenue, and the loss of these advertisers could have a major impact on its bottom line.
The controversy surrounding Musk’s remarks is just the latest in a string of controversies that have plagued X since Musk took over the company in October 2022. Musk has been accused of everything from firing employees without cause to reinstating the accounts of banned users.
It remains to be seen whether Musk will be able to weather this latest storm, but it is clear that his behavior is having a serious impact on X’s reputation and business.
