New Apple iMac Launch Might Be Delayed Until Later This Year, May Feature M3 Chip

The iMac fans are in for a long wait, as it seems that the latest 24-inch iMac model is not coming anytime soon. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company has no plans to launch the device until 2023 at the earliest. Gurman’s newsletter confirmed his expectation that Apple will skip the M2 chip update and instead wait for the M3 chip, which is yet to be officially announced.

Apple iMac

It is still a mystery whether Apple is working on a larger-screen version of the iMac or not. The company’s plans are unclear, and rumors are mixed on this front. Previously, it was reported that Apple is indeed working on a next-gen version of the iMac with the M3 chip, which could be a follow-up to the current 24-inch M1 iMac. Now, it’s unsure whether the new Mac will be labeled as the Mac Pro, or will be placed amongst the already existing iMac lineup.

The M3 chip is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s latest 3nm process, providing improved performance and efficiency. It could also be used in the rumored MacBook Air, which is expected to launch by 2023, as well as in future versions of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini. For reference, the “nm” (nanometer) parameter is the size of the transistors that make up a CPU and their distance from one another. The smaller the number, the more transistors can fit on the chipset, making it more powerful, but also more difficult and costly to make.

Apple last updated the iMac in April 2021 with the M1 chip and a sleek design in seven vibrant colors. It is currently the only iMac available in the market, with the Intel-based 27-inch iMac and iMac Pro being discontinued in the past two years. Gurman has hinted that a larger iMac might make a comeback, but no such information was shared in his latest newsletter.

Vivo V27 Series Design Revealed Through Leaked Posters

Vivo’s latest V27 series could be closer than we thought as it has now appeared in leaked posters. The new lineup could include the Vivo V27 and Vivo 27 Pro. Various reports have already revealed their specifications and even the pricing. And today, the smartphones’ promotional posters give us a good look at their design. Let’s have a look at the details.

Rumors have claimed the Vivo V27 series will have specifications and design similar to the Vivo S16 series, which was launched last year in China. The leaked posters back these rumors as the V27 series is pictured with an identical design to the S16 lineup.

The smartphones in the series could debut with a curved back that features a large rectangular camera island. We can see the camera bar houses three circular rings for the camera sensors. There’s also a circular LED flash. The posters suggest Vivo 27 and V27 Pro could arrive in at least two colors— green and gold.

Further, the poster reveals that the phones will feature optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). There may be a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor. In addition, the devices are touted to be one of the thinnest smartphones out there with a thickness of 7.4mm. Both phones may support 66W fast charging and have up to 12GB of RAM. Up to 256GB on board storage and a RAM expansion feature is also mentioned.

According to reports, the Vivo V27 Pro will be a rebranded Vivo S16 Pro and pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC under the hood. The vanilla V27 is said to be a rebranded S16 and it may feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200. Both devices may launch in March but an official confirmation is awaited.

ChatGPT to Make Its Way into Opera Browser Sidebar

The use of artificial intelligence is increasing day by day. This technology, which first entered our lives as simple voice assistants, is now appearing as chatbots that assist us in every aspect of business. Big technology companies that want to take advantage of this trend have already taken action. Microsoft invested heavily in the development of ChatGPT and integrated it into its own products, while Google started using its own chatbot, Bard. Now, Opera is building ChatGPT into its sidebar. Here are the details…

Opera’s building ChatGPT into its sidebar

Opera is undoubtedly one of the most functional browsers in the world. It contains many different tools and the company adds a new one almost every day. The latest addition is ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot of recent times. Opera is adding a ChatGPT-powered tool to its sidebar that generates brief summaries of webpages and articles. The feature, called “Shorten,” is part of the company’s broader plans to integrate AI tools into its browser, similar to what Microsoft is doing with Edge.

As you can see in the short video shared on Opera’s official YouTube channel, ChatGPT is very easy to use. You can activate the feature by selecting the “Shorten” button to the right of the address bar. From there, a sidebar with ChatGPT will pop out from the left, generating a neat, bulleted summary of the article or webpage you’re viewing.

Per Wetterdal, Opera’s head of strategic partnerships and AI ecosystem says in a statement: “We are excited to see the rapid roll-out of developer programs for solutions such as Google Bard, for example, and are starting to build and roll out new experiences in web browsing that not very long ago seemed impossible to achieve”. The “shorten” feature isn’t available to everyone just yet, though. However, it is expected to open to everyone shortly.

Bard Announcement Criticized by Google Employees

Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots are becoming increasingly common day by day. The process, which started with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, has nearly caused the internet to change and reshape. In an attempt to catch up with this fast-moving trend, Google recently announced its own chatbot, Bard. While many people expect ChatGPT to be replaced by Bard, according to the latest reports, some Googlers reportedly aren’t happy about Bard’s ‘rushed’ announcement. Here are the details…

Some Googlers reportedly aren’t happy about Bard’s ‘rushed’ announcement

Bard, the new AI chatbot from Google, caused a loss of 100 billion dollars due to providing incorrect answers during a promotional event. This situation not only upset investors but also Google employees. They have expressed their dissatisfaction with Bard’s performance on the company’s internal message boards, and some have directed their criticism towards CEO Sundar Pichai.

Adding to the negative response, a presenter at Google‘s search event forgot the phone they were going to use to demonstrate one of Bard’s features, and some employees were reportedly not even aware of the event taking place. One user wrote a highly upvoted post on the company’s internal message boards, calling the Bard launch and layoffs “rushed, botched, and myopic.” Other employees compared the past year at Google to a “dumpster fire” and expressed concerns about the company’s reputation.

In December, Pichai and AI head Jeff Dean reportedly expressed concerns about the risks associated with releasing an AI tool too early. However, the company seemed to change its tune after OpenAI’s ChatGPT tool became widely available, and enlisted the help of Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to help plan the company’s response.

Google’s ChatGPT rival, Bard, will not be widely available for several weeks, but with Microsoft planning to disrupt web search with its own chatbot, it is no surprise that Google wanted to showcase Bard, even if it was earlier than expected. Despite the initial setbacks, it remains to be seen how the chatbot will perform and if it will be well-received by the public.

The devices will undergo many changes and will feature upgraded hardware specifications and features. Now, there has been a rumour on the internet which claims that Huawei might display these upcoming smartphones at the MWC Barcelona 2023 event.

Huawei P60 series

On the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a few posts from various tipsters had been made referencing the upcoming Huawei P60 series. According to a tipster on Weibo, Huawei has completed the design for the upcoming P60 series. The manufacturer has updated its camera module, and the back panel’s leather back may be visible. However, according to another source, Huawei may present the product at the MWC 2023 event. This would catch us off, guard. The informant is emphatic that it might be the Chinese tech manufacturer’s earliest launch attempt, though.

Huawei P60 series

Huawei is known for producing high-quality cameras, and the P60 series should be no exception. Samsung Galaxy A54 Visits TENAA With Key Specifications

After refreshing its flagship S series, Samsung is now preparing to bring new phones in the mid-range A lineup. These devices could be the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34. Both phones have been making rounds on various certification sites recently and are rumored to arrive next month. While we wait, the A54 has now bagged China’s TENAA certification. Some of its specifications have also been revealed in the process. Here are the details.

Galaxy A54 has appeared on the TENAA website with model number SM-A5400. The listing confirms the mid-ranger will arrive with a 4905mAh battery (marketed as 5,000mAh). We can expect the device to support just 25W charging as Samsung is not exactly known for fast charging. Further, the authority corroborates that the device will have a triple camera unit on the back and a single shooter on the front.

Galaxy A54 TENAA

It could support multiple 5G bands including b41, b78, b79, b78, and b28. This is all the information we could get from the TENAA listing of the device. The certification hints the Galaxy A54’s launch might be near. An official confirmation is still awaited.

Previous reports have revealed the device will arrive with an Exynos 1380 SoC under the hood. The unannounced processor could be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage. The device may arrive with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate.

For photography, it may have a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and probably an 8MP tertiary sensor on the rear. The handset could look quite similar to the recently launched Galaxy S23 and S23+ with three camera rings on the back. It is rumored to be offered in 4 different colors— Awesome White, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Lime, and Awesome Violet.

Huawei is Working on a Dynamic Island Feature Similar to Apple

The iPhone 14 series was introduced last September. Apple, which usually releases phones with a similar design every year, made a significant change and eliminated the notch in its Pro models. It was replaced by the ‘Dynamic Island‘, which houses the front camera and Face ID sensors. This change, made by the company, was well received by users, and other manufacturers started to work on similar devices. Huawei was the first to take the step for the ‘Dynamic Island’. Here are the details…

Huawei to launch its own Dynamic Island feature

Similar to the iPhone 14 lineup, the Huawei Nova 11 series will adopt a new pill shape cutout screen and it is the first time to equip in a Huawei smartphone. The Chinese tech giant has been employing various punch-hole techniques for a long time.

Huawei

The most popular of these is the single hole or pill-shaped camera placement in the top left corner of the screen. However, for the first time, Huawei will position its cameras in the middle, similar to Apple’s ‘Dynamic Island‘.

Huawei Nova 11 series will bring out the XMAGE camera system and it’s likely that the company will get you a better photography user experience. The Dynamic Island feature in question is expected to offer similar functionality to Apple.

Unfortunately, for now, we do not have any information other than the design of the phone. It is possible to say that it will come with HarmonyOS just like other current Huawei models. However, we will continue to inform you when there is a development on the subject.

Apple Watch Could Get a Camera: New Patents Reveal Possibilities

As we all know, technology is advancing very quickly, and therefore companies have to think years ahead when planning. In this way, we can obtain information about products such as the iPhone 16, which are far in the future. Especially patents can give us a glimpse into what a company is thinking about, even if they don’t guarantee that a product is in development. Finally, some of Apple’s plans for smartwatches have emerged. Accordingly, the company has seriously considered incorporating a camera into the Apple Watch. Here are the details..

Apple sure has a lot of patents about adding a camera to the Apple Watch

Patent applications can provide a lot of information about a company’s future. It is possible to understand that a new product will be released or what features will be added to an existing product. Lastly, Apple was granted a patent (US-11571048-B1) for an Apple Watch strap release mechanism that could potentially be used with a built-in camera. First of all, we should note that the fact that the US technology giant made such a patent application does not mean that it will produce an Apple Watch with a camera. It simply shows us that the company is considering some ideas.

The patent was first spotted by Patently Apple and it details a strap with two segments and a “nest” portion that could be used to quickly and ergonomically pop the watch out of the strap. The idea behind this mechanism is to open up new ways to use the Apple Watch, including taking pictures with a built-in camera. The patent illustrates a person holding the strapless watch to take a picture, and a cross-section of an Apple Watch with a bottom-facing built-in camera and its field of view. To take a picture, the user would simply pop out the watch, hold up the camera portion, and snap a picture.

This is not the first time Apple has filed camera-related patents for the Apple Watch. The company was granted another patent last year simply titled “Watch having a camera.” This patent described a camera placed within the digital crown and had diagrams that were similar to those in the recent patent. In 2019, Apple also won a patent for a rotatable camera built into the end of a strap. It’s worth mentioning that there’s already a third-party Apple Watch accessory called the Wristcam that functions similarly.

A camera on an Apple Watch could have a lot of potential uses. One of the key benefits of the Apple Watch is that it enables iPhone users to spend less time on their phones, and even leave it behind when running errands, going for a walk, or exercising. However, what happens when someone wants to take a picture of something they see while out and about? Without a phone, they wouldn’t have any evidence. A camera on the Apple Watch could solve this problem. However, it is too early to talk about all this.

Nintendo Switch Overtakes Sony’s PS4 to Become the Third Best-Selling Console of All Time

The eighth-generation console wars have come to an end with the introduction of the PS5 and the Xbox Series S/X. Sony, with the PS4, was the company that managed to sell the most products. Although the Xbox side did not meet expectations, the real surprise came from Nintendo. The Switch, introduced in 2017, exceeded everyone’s expectations and has become the popular handheld console that has outsold the PS4. Here are the details…

The Nintendo Switch has outsold the PS4, but Nintendo sees tougher times ahead

According to the latest reports, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 122.5 million units as of the end of 2022, surpassing both the legendary Game Boy and Sony’s PlayStation 4 to become the third best-selling gaming console of all time. However, looking at the last nine months of 2022, we see that sales have dropped to 14.91 million from 18.95 million during the same period the previous year. Additionally, total revenue has declined by 5.6%.

Nintendo Switch

There are two basic reasons for this. Firstly, game sales fell by 4% despite the release of the new Pokemon Scarlet/Violet titles (which totaled an impressive 20.61 million units), unable to offset the decline. The second reason is the inability to supply enough products in the market due to the global chip crisis. Although the number of products has increased with the disappearance of the pandemic from our lives, this time demand has decreased.

Although the company has lowered its expectations for next year, exclusive games could change that. Titles like Zelda, which has a massive fanbase, can drive much higher console sales on its own. Another highlight in the company’s report is the preference of users. While sales of the Nintendo Switch with an OLED screen increased, there was a decrease in sales of the standard and lite models. This indicates that users want better and more powerful hardware.

Nintendo Switch OLED

It’s worth remembering that the Nintendo Switch just surpassing the PlayStation 4 in sales does not mean it is taking the lead in the eighth-generation console wars. Sony and Microsoft have prioritized the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while Nintendo has not yet shown a new console that it is working on and continues to sell the device, which was released in 2017, with minor improvements. For this reason, it is possible to say that the PS4, which has sold approximately 120 million units, is still the winner!

Nintendo said last year that the transition to its next console is “a major focus for us,” and it could start becoming more urgent soon. It’ll be interesting to see if the Switch can hang around long enough to become the best selling console of all time, but Nintendo will have to sell around 33 million more units to surpass the PlayStation 2.

Pixel 7 Pro Users Reports Their Volume Buttons are Falling Off

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is an extremely popular smartphone that has gotten good marks for its features, performance, and camera quality. However, there have been multiple reports of a problem that has led owners of this device to be frustrated. The volume button on the Google Pixel 7 Pro appears to be prone to slipping off, creating inconvenience and potentially damaging the device. There has been no official response from the brand on this issue yet. It’s really troubling to see this kind of issue happening in a flagship smartphone of a brand.

Some users stated that the button fell off after only a few weeks of use, while others said that it fell off after several months. On several occasions, the button has come off while the phone was in the user’s pocket, causing damage to the device or making retrieval difficult. The issue was initially brought to light by Android Central’s Nick Sutrich, who posted about it with his Pixel 7 Pro. Sutrich discovered the tragic discovery after removing his phone from his pocket and noticing the volume rocker on his Pixel 7 Pro had disengaged.

Google Pixel 7 Pro
(Image credit: Nicholas Sutrich / Android Central)

Furthermore, 9to5Google discovered that Google personnel warned some consumers that an issue like this is not covered by the device’s warranty. Sutrich did, however, receive word from Google that the “staff is aware of the situation” and would be in touch with him soon. As Google receives more complaints, this may help to spark some solutions. The volume button issue appears to be a design defect that affects a large number of Google Pixel 7 Pro users. While some customers were able to resolve the issue by simply reattaching the button, others were forced to send their devices in for repair.

Eventually, the volume button on the Google Pixel 7 Pro sliding off is a severe issue that has created inconvenience and dissatisfaction among its customers. While the problem may not affect everyone who owns the device, users should be informed of the potential issue so that they can take precautions to secure their devices. Users are recommended to use precautions when handling their phones and to keep a close eye on the volume button until Google takes action to address the issue. That concludes our post concerning the latest Google Pixel 7 Pro issue. Thank you for sticking with me until the end.

Xiaomi Suspends MIUI 14 Beta Update for Selected Devices

Xiaomi recently announced the MIUI 14 user interface, which is based on the Android 14 operating system. The brand has also started rolling out the update to its smartphones at a rapid rate. Many devices like the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Mi 11 Lite 5G and Xiaomi 12T had recently grabbed the MIUI 14 update. The brand has been releasing the update at a rapid rate in order to cope-up with the competition. According to the latest information, Xiaomi, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has announced that it will stop releasing beta updates for its latest operating system, MIUI 14, to certain devices. The decision has come as a surprise to many fans.

According to Xiaomi’s most recent official statement, the Weekly MIUI 14 Beta update for some smartphones may be suspended in the near future. MIUI 14 Beta updates will no longer be available for the Redmi K40 Pro / Pro+, Redmi K40, Xiaomi Mi 10S, Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, Redmi K40 Gaming, and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G after April 21, 2023. Although this is unfortunate news, it should be emphasised that every smartphone has some level of software support. On April 21, these smartphones will have gotten the final Weekly MIUI 14 Beta update. The smartphones will continue to receive stable MIUI 14 updates. The discontinuation of MIUI 14 Beta does not imply that no further updates will be delivered.

Xiaomi MIUI 14

The brand has announced that it will now concentrate on two MIUI versions: weekly and stable. Xiaomi has opted to prioritise enhancing the performance of MIUI 14 on devices that can support it. This revelation has disappointed many Xiaomi fans who were eager to try out the latest MIUI 14 features and upgrades on their older handsets. Xiaomi, on the other hand, has informed its users that it remains committed to providing frequent updates and support for all of its devices and that it is working to improve the performance of MIUI 14 on as many devices as possible.

In conclusion, while some users may be disappointed, Xiaomi’s decision to stop distributing MIUI 14 beta updates to specific devices is a necessary one, as it will allow the firm to focus on improving the software’s performance on devices that can support it. Xiaomi remains committed to offering the best possible experience for its consumers, and we can expect more updates and enhancements in the future. Thank you for sticking with me until the end.
