Smartphone launches have finally slowed down. Next week, we only have two events. They will be hosted by Honor and iQOO. These conferences will take place in China and India respectively.
A total of four phones are expected. Three of them will be from Honor and the remaining one will be by iQOO. These devices will likely belong to the upper mid-range category.
The Honor 70 series is scheduled to take place on May 30 in China. It will begin at 7:30 PM CST and will be live-streamed on multiple Chinese video streaming platforms, including Weibo.
The brand is expected to debut three models in the lineup, namely Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro, and Honor 70 Pro Plus. They are said to be powered by Snapdragon 778G+, Dimensity 8000, and Dimensity 9000 chipsets respectively.
At least one of them will arrive with a 54MP Sony IMX8000 camera. Further, the Pro models will carry support for 100W fast charging, while the vanilla variant will be limited to 66W.
Last but not least, the Honor 70 series will retain the design from its predecessors with some noticeable tweaks.
2. iQOO Neo 6
iQOO has confirmed to launch the iQOO Neo 6 in India on May 31. The event will be live-streamed on the brand’s official Youtube channel from 12 PM IST.
According to teasers and leaks, the iQOO Neo 6 for India is expected to be a rebranded iQOO Neo 6 SE sold in China. Hence, it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC instead of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
Other features of the device will include a 6.62 inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra wide) + 2MP (depth) triple camera system, 16MP selfie camera, dual stereo speakers, 4,700mAh battery, 80W fast charging support, and Android 12.
Apple’s iPhone 14 max might not arrive on the expected time. As per a report by Nikkei Asia, the production of the upcoming fresh addition to the iPhone lineup has fallen behind schedule following month-long Covid lockdowns in China, where the smartphone is assembled.
According to the report, the Cupertino company has instructed the suppliers to accelerate the production of new iPhone models in order to make up for the lost time. Certain Regions of Shanghai were locked down in late March, and while restrictions have now started easing off, the supply chain disruption still goes on.
Last week, it was reported that the ongoing Covid-19 lockdowns in China are expected to have a significant impact on Apple revenue for the April-June quarter, with the company predicting an $8 billion loss in sales, mainly due to the Shanghai lockout.
For the unversed, Apple is prepping to launch four new iPhone models this year, tentatively named the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Max, and 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 and Pro models will feature 6.1-inch screens, while the Max and Pro Max models will arrive with 6.7 in-inch screens.
As per the report, all four models are currently in the engineering verification test (EVT) stage. In this stage, suppliers finalize all parts and processes before starting mass production of the new iPhones and also calculate the manufacturing costs. However, due to the lockdowns in Shanghai, one of the models is reported to be about three weeks behind schedule. Analyst Jeff Pu claims that the delayed model is the long-rumored iPhone 14 Max.
This is not the first time Apple is facing such a dilemma. The same happened during the production of the iPhone 12 in 2020. Due to the lockdown and Covid-19, the tech giant had to launch the iPhone 12 in October, one month later than the expected launch date.
Google‘s upcoming foldable smartphone, dubbed Google Pixel Fold, which is also rumored to get launched as the Pixel Notepad, has reportedly been delayed once again and won’t be available later this year.
Now, the new report coming from analysts Ross Young and Jon Prosser has provided more information about when the Google Pixel Fold smartphone could go official.
As per the report, the upcoming first foldable smartphone from Google has been delayed till spring next year. However, an exact timeline for the launch of the device has not been known yet but we expect more information to emerge in the coming months.
Ross Young claims that the delay in the launch of the smartphone is not because of the display issues but he speculates that the company could be waiting for the next-generation Tensor chipset or some software improvements.
Just a day ago, there was a report claiming that the Google Pixel Fold smartphone won’t be making its debut this year. This is the second time the technology giant has postponed the launch of its first foldable device.
Most of the leading smartphone manufacturers have launched their own foldable smartphones in the market, and Samsung continues to dominate the market. The South Korean giant already has a few generations of foldable phones in the market and is now gearing up to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the coming months.

Vivo is reportedly working on the Vivo V25 series of smartphones. Recently, a Vivo phone with model number V2158 was spotted with the Vivo V25 Pro 5G moniker in the IMEI database. This device has also been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). It seems that the Vivo V25 Pro could be a rebranded version of the Vivo S15 Pro, which went official earlier this month in China.
To recall, the Vivo V23 Pro was a rebranded version of the Vivo S12 Pro. Hence, it is likely that the upcoming V25 Pro could be a rebadged version of the S15 Pro. Considering that the Vivo V25 Pro 5G could be a rebranded S15 Pro, it may arrive with identical specs.
Vivo S15 Pro
Vivo V25 Pro 5G specifications (expected)
The V25 Pro will feature a 6.56-inch Full HD+ 120Hz display, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit.
The Dimensity 8100 chipset, along with LPPDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, will power the V25 Pro. A recent leak by 91mobiles revealed that the device will come in three variants, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB of storage.
The device will run on the Android 12 OS with the FunTouch OS 12 on top. It will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. For security, it will have an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The IMEI database listing is a good hint that the Vivo V25 Pro’s launch date could be drawing near. The Pro model could be accompanied by the Vivo V25 vanilla model. It is unclear whether the V25 will be a rebranded version of the Vivo S15. The V25 lineup may launch as early as next month in Asian markets.
iQOO is reportedly working on the iQOO 10 series of smartphones. Reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station has shared some preliminary information about the iQOO 10 lineup. He further revealed that Vivo is also working on a camera flagship.
According to the Chinese tipster, the iQOO 10 series, with internal model number PD2217 / 2218 is in the works. The lineup will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and will debut in Q3 this year.

The Chinese leaker claimed that Vivo is working on a camera-focused flagship phone, which may feature a primary camera that is more powerful than the Vivo X80 Pro’s Samsung GNV camera. It appears that Vivo is yet to decide on a processor that will power the mysterious Vivo phone. It remains to be seen whether the company decides on using the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.
There is no word on the final marketing name of the device. It remains to be seen whether the device ends up as the Vivo X90 lineup phone or the X80 series. Readers will have to wait for further reports to know more about the Vivo’s mysterious camera flagship.

The T2xis expected to arrive with specs such as a 6.58-inch LCD FHD+ display, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, 50-megapixel dual rear cameras, a Dimensity 1300 chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
After releasing beta builds of ColorOS 12 last month, Oppo has now started rolling out the stable release based on Android 12 to the Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 in India and Vietnam. But apparently, the company requires users to submit an application if they want to receive the stable ColorOS12 update during the initial rollout.
Oppo announced through a community post that the ColorOS 12 official update is coming now to the Oppo F17 in India, and Oppo A73 in Vietnam. The post says that the update is still in the initial stage and will be released on a batch-by-batch basis.
If you have an eligible device, you can get ColorOS 12 update by going to the Software Updates section in the Settings. In the Software Updates section, tap on the settings kebab menu in the top right corner and you will see an option to register for the update. Once you submit the application, you will receive ColorOS 12 via an OTA update.
Please note that if the application quota is full, you will have to wait for the next round of rollout. Read these “must-knows” before you proceed to apply for the update:
Please backup important data on the phone before updating to avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other unforeseen circumstances.
After updating to the latest version, the operating system will do several actions to optimize your device automatically. It might lead to your device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining. We recommend you turn off the screen and charge your device for a whole night after its updated success. Or keep using the device and it will become normal within a few days.
Some third-party applications are not compatible with Android 12. Therefore, updating these applications might not be available or have technical issues including lagging and crashing down on your device.
Samsung’s Expert RAW app has been available for the Galaxy S22 series and a few older Galaxy smartphones for almost a year. Now, the South Korean tech giant is releasing a new update for Expert RAW which will extend its compatibility to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The update has arrived a bit late since Samsung announced earlier that it is set to release it in April.
As initially spotted by Sammobile, Samsung has rolled out an update to the Expert RAW app which enables support for the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Aside from that, the update also brings a few performance enhancements such as faster processing time in a low-light environment and improvements in the image quality.
Source: Sammobile
If you don’t know much about Samsung’s Expert RAW app, some explanation might be in order. The app offers a wider dynamic range than its standard camera apps and a whole host of manual shooting controls for the more experienced photographer. Moreover, the app enables you to take shots in RAW, meaning you can edit them afterward in apps such as Adobe Lightroom.
The update comes packed in 50MB of data and can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store. Now that the Expert RAW is available for Galaxy Z Fold 3, we hope it will soon extend to devices like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, S20 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 who have been quietly waiting for the app to knock on their doors.
The new support update is great for photography enthusiasts who own a Galaxy Z Fold 3. It’s not like the app will completely change the capabilities of the phone’s camera but it will definitely provide users with a more robust solution and lots more options for fine-tuning.

A lot of people did not expect it, but after the Pixel 6 series, Google came up with a new affordable and compact variant: the Google Pixel 6a. Besides being a more affordable variant of the same lineup, it is still powered by the same flagship-class proprietary processor. Alongside its compact dimensions and the price range, this is the main reason why this handset is a perfect rival for the latest Apple compact phone: the iPhone SE 2022. This is a comparison between the specifications of the Apple iPhone SE 2022 and the Google Pixel 6a which will tell you something about the differences between these two compact flagships. After checking it, you can let us know which one you prefer by using the comment box.

Design
If you are looking for the best build quality, then you should choose the Apple iPhone SE. It is built with better materials, including an aluminum frame and a glass back protected by Ceramic Shield. However, it has a very outdated design: it is the same design as the very old iPhone 8 released in 2017. The Google Pixel 6a comes with a more modern design including a borderless punch-hole display and a very original rear side. Its display is a lot bigger, but the phone remains very compact thanks to its narrow bezels around the display. If you are looking for the most beautiful phone, then you should choose the Google one.
Display
The Google Pixel 6a wins the display comparison. Unlike the iPhone SE, it comes with an OLED display showing brighter colors and deeper blacks. The display is bigger with a diagonal of 6.1 inches and it has a higher level of detail thanks to a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Further, it supports the HDR certification improving the image quality on streaming platforms, and more. The Apple iPhone SE sports an old IPS panel with good image reproduction, but is inferior to the Google compact flagship. Not only the color reproduction, but even the level of detail is lower. Further, the bezels are very thick and, unlike the Pixel 6a, it does not have an in-display fingerprint reader but it comes with the Touch ID placed below the display.
Specs & Software
The most advanced level of performance is provided by the Apple iPhone SE 2022. First of all, it comes with the Apple A15 Bionic mobile platform, which is the same processor found on the iPhone 13 lineup. Further, it has the iOS operating system which is actually more optimized than Android 12 found on the Google Pixel 6a. That is the reason why the Google flagship, despite having the powerful Google Tensor chipset, does not reach the performance level of the iPhone. Both the phones belong to manufacturers who own the respective operating system as well, so they will get very long software support with years and years of updates in advance if compared to many other manufacturers.
Camera
On the paper, the Google Pixel 6a looks to have a more complete camera setup. It comes with a 12.2 MP main camera supporting optical stabilization and an ultrawide 12 MP sensor. With the Apple iPhone SE, you only get a single 12 MP shooter with OIS on the rear side, no ultrawide cameras. However, the iPhone is definitely better at recording videos.
The battery life is the weakest point of the Apple iPhone SE because it has a very small battery: it still provides a sufficient battery life, but there is no chance for it to compete with the Google Pixel 6a and its 4410 mAh battery. The capacity of the iPhone is just 2018 mAh and, even though the phone comes with a small display and efficient components, it is still far from other modern flagships in terms of battery life. On the other hand, it is the only one to support wireless charging (but no MagSafe).
Price
The starting price of the iPhone SE 2022 for the global market is €500 or $380, while you need €450 or $450 to purchase the Google Pixel 6a. There is no definitive winner for this comparison but each of these devices has its pro and cons. As mentioned above, the iPhone SE 2022 has a better build quality thanks to its glass back protected by Ceramic Shield, but it also comes with a very outdated design which makes the Pixel 6a more attractive. The Google flagship provides a better OLED display with the HDR certification and a more complete camera department, as well as a bigger battery providing longer battery life, while the Apple one is equipped with a superior hardware department and wireless charging. The price difference is small and both the devices will get long software support as per the manufacturers’ policies. Which one would you pick?

Samsung is hyping the credentials of its 200MP HP1 sensor with a video showing some of the sensor’s capabilities. The video shows that the new sensor can preserve a great deal of detail. We are still awaiting the first smartphone to debut the Samsung 200MP sensor.
Samsung announced the ISOCELL HP1 sensor back in September 2021. It however seems a Motorola smartphone will be the first to have the monster sensor. The video details how the HP1 sensor was attached to a Frankenstein rig having a test board, an external display, and another lens. The setup was then used to capture photos of a cat. The photo output was then printed on an industrial printer.
The optimized still image of the cat was done on a 28 x 22 meters canvas with several 2.3m pieces attached together and hung on a building. The HP1 sensor is capable of zooming or cropping images while their details remain intact. The new ChamelonCell pixel binning technology is another great feature of the HP1 sensor. It allows the grouping of up to 16 pixels to achieve different resolutions from 12.5MP to 200MP.
Last year, Microsoft announced Windows Subsystem for Android which will allow Android apps to run on Windows 11. The service has been made available to Windows users in the United States, and now, Microsoft has announced that the service will extend to more regions before the end of 2022.
These regions will include France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom (Via XDA Developers). For those unaware, this feature was announced in June 2021 and made its way to the live version of Windows earlier this year. Microsoft has partnered with Amazon for this service and provides the Android apps via the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11.
If you live outside of these above-mentioned regions and can’t wait for the update to make its way to your country, you can easily access the feature from the Microsoft store after changing your region settings in Windows. The more challenging part is getting access to the apps themselves as Amazon Appstore currently works only with US-based Amazon accounts. Apart from Gold, the most eye-catching render is the gorgeous purple color which is said to be the special color coming for the iPhone 14 Pro this time around. There might be more “special color” options planned for the device, however, the purple color will likely not be made available for the vanilla iPhone 14 model. Other than the color options, the renders also visualize the rumored slim bezels that are said to give the device some additional display real estate.
So far, leaks surrounding the Apple iPhone 14 Pro suggest that the smartphone will come with a 48-megapixel sensor wide-angle primary camera, which is considerably bigger than the current 12-megapixel wide-angle camera featured in the iPhone 13 series.
Other than that, the device will get rid of the notch for a pill-shaped and punch-hole cutout combo, and will also come with the next generation A16 Bionic chipset. A recent report also stated that the new ProMotion display on the iPhone 14 Pro will give it access to the Always On Display feature that’s been missing from the iPhones till now. This will be made possible as the new display panel will feature an adaptive refresh rate technology capable of dropping down to 1Hz saving precious battery life.
