Xiaomi has just launched a new product in its home country of China. The latest gadget is a smart home device and is dubbed the Smart Display 10. As the name suggests, it is a display that offers a number of smart control features. So let’s have a look.

Display & Design

The Xiaomi Smart Display 10 features a metal frame that is paired with woven mesh fabric. This is a simple integrated design that offers a premium look and feel. As per official notes, it is suitable for different styles of homes and can be useful in any room of a house. It even has a stand that can be adjusted to have the smart screen stand at a 90 degree incline or even 120 degrees as well. For privacy protection, there is also a physical slider to hide the camera. On the front, the device sports a large 10.1 inch display that offers HD resolution.

Features

The Xiaomi Smart Display 10 is packed with a number of functions and features. Being a smart home screen, it can act as the central control hub for users’ smart homes. Meaning, customers with smart home appliances can control all of the products, say Xiaomi’s smart LED bulbs can be controlled remotely, through this device. It even acts as an entertainment center and users can watch videos and movies on the screen. Thanks to its front camera, you can also make video calls since it also has a microphone as well.

It even offers face tracking from its 5 megapixel front facing camera, which offers 115 degree field of view and is paired with a dedicated security chip. The Smart Display 10 also features Xiao AI voice assistant support. Other features include dual stereo speakers, support for a number of smartphone applications, and a dedicated children’s mode with a smart child identification system that is powered by face detection technology. It also comes with education apps as well for children.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Smart Display 10 was announced in China earlier today (21st April 2022). It has a pre-order price of 949 Yuan or roughly 147 US Dollars. The device will go on sale in the region starting on 29th April 2022. Unfortunately, it is unknown if the brand has any plans of releasing this device for the international market. But, it still competes with the likes of the Google Nest Hub, Echo Show, and other smart home displays.

Vivo will be holding a launch event on April 25 to announce the Vivo X80 series of smartphones in China. The lineup will have three devices, such as the Vivo X80, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro+ for the home market. Soon after its China launch, the company will be making the X80 lineup available in global markets. Tipster Mukul Sharma has tipped the key details of the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro.

According to Sharma, the vanilla Vivo X80 will be arriving in two variants such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. It will come in Cosmic Black and Urban Blue colors.

Unfortunately, there is no information on the other specs of the X80. The X80 Pro headed to India will have a 2K display and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is likely that the company will probably settle for a Full HD+ resolution display and a non-flagship chip for the vanilla model. Hopefully, the rumor mill will spill more details on the X80’s specs in the coming days.

Sharma also revealed that the R&D testing of the X80 lineup has started in India. This indicates that it may debut as early as May in the country.

The Vivo X80 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers a Quad HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will power the device. It will feature a 50-megapixel + 48-megapixel + 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel quad-camera unit. It will house a 4,700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. It will ship with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It isn’t clear if the device will come in other variants in the country.

With sizes of pictures, applications, videos, and more, growing over the years, brands had started offering larger storage options for their smartphones. Now, a new report has revealed that Xiaomi plans on launching multiple new handset models that come with high storage options.

In today’s time, when buying a smartphone, one considers the storage offered by the company as a key factor. So, it seems that the Chinese tech giant plans to offer higher storage options from its Redmi sub brands and some of its mid range offerings in the near future. According to known tipster Digital Chat Station, the brand’s smartphones will arrive with 512GB of internal storage.

Notably, this option will be higher than some of its premium offerings at the moment. The known tipster shared this on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website) and also state that the brand plans to announce more than one high performance smartphone with 512GB storage. He claims that these upcoming models are just around the corner, so we can expect to see teasers or other reports/rumors surface soon.

Interestingly, he stated that at least one of these new devices will feature 8GB of RAM to go along with the high storage option. As of right now, Xiaomi had previously launched the Redmi K50 Pro with 512GB of storage. However, this configuration included 12GB of RAM. So, it might be a part of the next gen K series model or another series entirely. We have no way of knowing at the moment, so stay tuned for more updates regarding this matter.

Realme is gearing up to host two new eventmarzos next week in India. The company is set to unveil the Realme GT Neo 3 on April 29. And now, it has been announced that it will also be releasing the Narzo 50A Prime in the region as well.

As scheduled, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Civi 1S in China. The device is a lifestyle smartphone targeted at the female audience. It is merely a slightly upgraded version of the original Xiaomi Civi from late last year and not a successor. With that out of the day, let’s take a look at the things it has to offer.

Xiaomi Civi 1S Specifications

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Civi 1S is identical to the original Xiaomi Civi in terms of looks. It has a rounded rectangular camera island on its rear panel housing a triple camera system in a triangular fashion with a horizontal LED flashlight strip below it.

The frame of the handset is metal and its back panel is made of glass. It measures only 6.98mm in thickness and weighs 166g. The rear glass panel has a gloss shimmering finish due to diamond-like structures underneath and arrives in four different gradient color options(black, pink, blue, silver).

Talking about the screen, the phone sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The curved panel has a 10-bit color depth, 402 PPI, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a centered punch-hole.

The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR standards. It has a local peak brightness level of 950 nits and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Hardware and Software

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It comes with a 36-month anti-aging certification.

The handset boots MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box.

Cameras

The Xiaomi Civi 1S arrives with a triple camera setup on its back. The system comprises an OIS-enabled 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro sensor.

On the front, the punch-hole nests a 32MP Sony IMX616 snapper with autofocus and dual soft light. This camera has support for the company’s CyberFocus human eye-tracking system. This feature derived from Xiaomi CyberDog first made its debut on Xiaomi 12 Pro.

It comes with multiple camera features like Native Beauty Portrait 2.0 for good-looking portrait shots and 4G Light Chasing Beauty Technology for makeup. Xiaomi claims that its algorithm works at pixel-level as it uses Generative Adversarial Network (GAN).

Battery and Charging

The handset gets its juice from a 4,500mAh battery. It not only has support for Xiaomi’s proprietary 55W fast charging but also Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.

Other Features

The Xiaomi Civi 1S offers dual-SIM 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.

It also comes with Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers, a linear vibration motor, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and an IR blaster.

OPPO is gearing up to announce its next-generation K-series smartphones in its home market. The company will be launching the OPPO K10 and OPPO K10 Pro in the Chinese market just a few days from now, on 24th April.

Ahead of the official launch, there have been a few leaks related to the upcoming smartphones which have revealed the specifications and features of the K10 series. Here’s a roundup of all the information available so far about these new phones.

OPPO K10 Pro 5G

DISPLAY AND HARDWARE

The OPPO K10 Pro is expected to come with a 6.62-inch AMOLED display which will offer a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a punch-hole cutout on the display for housing the front-facing camera sensor. It will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phone with model number PGIM10 was recently spotted on Geekbench with a chipset codenamed “lahaina” having a peak clock speed of 2.84GHz. In the camera department, the OPPO K10 Pro will have a triple-camera setup on the back consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front side, the phone will have a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The phone will be running the Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own ColorOS custom interface on top. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and have 80W fast charging support.

The OPPO K10 Pro 5G is expected to be available in the Chinese market in two color options — Clear Blue and Titanium Black. As of now, the pricing information has not been revealed. It is expected to soon go on sale after its launch on 24th April.

Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device will also be equipped with a diamond VC liquid cooling system for heat dissipation.

As for the camera department, the OPPO K10 will feature a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front side, the device will have a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

This one too will run the latest Android 12 operating system and have the company’s own ColorOS custom interface on top. The phone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and come with support for 67W fast charging.

While there have been various rumors and reports regarding the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 series, a new report has revealed interesting information regarding the 2024 iPhone, which will likely be the iPhone 16 lineup.

In a tweet, known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the Cupertino based giant’s 2024 iPhone might be the first smartphone from the brand to feature a full front screen design. So, most of its necessary sensors like the selfie camera and Face ID tech will be housed underneath the display panel. The tweet reads “I think the real full screen iPhone will come in 2024. High end iPhones in 2024 would adopt an under display front camera alongside the under-display Face ID. A low light condition is detrimental to front camera quality, and ISP & algorithm are critical for quality improvements.”

Notably, the analyst’s comments are in line with his previous estimations. He had initially stated that Apple no longer planned to launch an iPhone with under screen Touch ID. So, the alternative to the biometric security feature is the Face ID, which has already replaced Touch ID on most iPhone models. Interestingly, another analyst Ross Youn also claimed that the under display Face ID will be making its way to the iPhone 16 as well.

On the other hand, the iPhone 14 series that is set to launch later this year is expected to finally remove the large notch on the front. Now, the 2022 iPhone will feature punch hole cutouts for the necessary sensors for Face ID and the front camera. Keep in mind that the iPhone 16 is still more than two years away so take this report with a pinch of salt for now.

Realme GT Neo3 will be unveiled on April 29 in India. While there is no information on the pricing of the device for the country, a new leak by Abhishek Yadav has tipped its first sale date.

A recent report revealed that the Realme GT Neo3 will be arriving in two configurations in India, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. iQOO’s Dimensity 9000 phone in works, key specifications leaked

iQOO is known for launching performance-driven smartphones. In January, the company announced the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro flagship phones in China. After announcing the Snapdragon 680 powered iQOO U5x in March, the company unveiled the iQOO Neo6 earlier this month in the homeland. A new leak reveals that the iQOO is working on a new flagship phone powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset.

Today, the tipster Digital Chat Station shared key specifications of what appears to be an iQOO phone. Unfortunately, the final marketing name of the device is not known yet. In the screenshot below, the leaker can be seen spilling the key specifications of a mysterious smartphone. The Weibo post also includes a blue icon, implying that he is referring to a Vivo or its sub-brand iQOO.

However, the publication CNMO states that the tipster is talking about an iQOO phone. In the comments section, a Weibo user asked the tipster whether he shared the specifications of the vanilla variant of the iQOO 10. He denied it, saying that it is too early for the iQOO 10 to arrive.

Hence, it appears that the tipster could be talking about an iQOO 9 series or an iQOO Neo6 series phone. Hence, there is a possibility that it could be the iQOO 9T or the iQOO Neo6 Vitality Edition. Readers should wait for more reports to find out what the name of the phone is going to be.

As for the specs, the mysterious iQOO phone will feature an OLED screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset and a 4,700mAh dual-cell battery that will carry support for fast charging. Honor has been actively launching new smartphones and the company also has a lineup of laptops under the Magic branding which the brand keeps refreshing regularly.

The company has now introduced two new MagicBook laptops in China — Honor MagicBook X 14 2022 and Honor MagicBook X 15 2022. Honor has also started take pre-orders for the devices in China.

In February, iQOO unveiled three flagship phones, such as the iQOO 9 SE 5G, iQOO 9 5G, and iQOO 9 Pro 5G. It appears that the company is not done yet with the iQOO 9 series. A new report by PassionateGeekz claims that the company is planning to launch another device named the iQOO 9T.

The publication has come across an IMEI database listing of an iQOO phone heading to the Indian market. Its model number is I2021. The listing reveals that its final marketing is iQOO 9T. Unfortunately, there is no information on the specifications and launch timeline for the device.

The iQOO 9T could be iQOO’s weapon to take on the likes of affordable flagships such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and Realme GT Neo3 that are soon to launch in India. There is a possibility that it could be a rebranded version of one of the recent iQOO phones, which debuted in China recently.

A recent report revealed that an iQOO phone with an I2022 model number was approved by the BIS authority of India. It is believed to be the Indian variant of the iQOO Neo6, which debuted earlier this month in China.

The iQOO Neo6 comes with a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset powers the device with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It offers up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The iQOO Neo6 has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. Its back panel has an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens. Vivo has announced on China’s microblogging site Weibo, a new imaging chip that is bound to enhance the display and imaging capabilities of its next flagships. The Vivo X80 series will have the V1+ chip developed in-house by the company and MediaTek. The new chip has gone through several improvements including enhanced compatibility and picture optimization.

The Vivo X80 series is the next flagship offering by Vivo and the improved V1+ imaging chip offers more depth to the models. The V1+ is the successor to the V1 which was released last year. It supports MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoCs. The collaboration with MediaTek has culminated in more than 30 related patents. The new V1+ image processor is first in several ways. It made Vivo the first OEM to produce its image processors compatible with high-end SoCs like the Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The V1+ chip is the culmination of a year-long collaboration between MediaTek and Vivo involving about 300 staff. The chip is also well-suited for high-quality and high-speed gaming applications. Vivo is also adding improvements in color, portrait, and shooting aspects by creating a new vivid and textured memory scheme. It uses AI technology to boost image quality remarkably.

Vivo is also implementing algorithms to optimize CPU resource allocation, reduce heat generation and boost the efficiency of the Dimensity 9000. This has led to significant improvement in the Dimensity 9000’s power consumption. This also has a rub-off effect on battery life, with up to 10% enhancements reported in tests. The overall impact on the X80 series could be far-reaching in the market.

Design

If you are looking for the most impressive design, then you should go for the OPPO Find X5 Pro. Its impressive curves and its ceramic body allowed OPPO to win an iF Design Award for the product design, and we can assume the Find X5 Pro is the most beautiful Android device of 2022. The Honor Magic4 Ultimate has a ceramic body as well, but the OPPO flagship is more elegant thanks to its curves and the absence of that huge camera module found on the Honor flagship. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is beautiful as well with its Galaxy Note-like design, but it is made of glass and aluminum just like most of the flagships out there.

Display

It is very hard to understand which of these phones has the best display because their specifications on the paper are exactly at the same level. According to the most important benchmarks, the OPPO Find X5 Pro has a slightly better panel in terms of color accuracy and more. In 2022, until now, there is not any manufacturer which released a phone with a better camera setup than Honor Magic4 Ultimate. BLU F91 with a Dimensity 810 chip is the brand’s first 5G phone

US phone manufacturing company BLU has launched its first 5G smartphone, bringing an affordable model in the 5G category. The phone dubbed BLU F91 carries a price tag of $300 but will be on sale for $200 during the first flash sale.

The BLU F91 features an expansive 6.8-inch LCD screen with an FHD+ display of 2460 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display features a hole-punch opening at the front which houses a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Apart from capturing beautiful selfies, the front camera also acts as a face unlock. there is also a fingerprint reader mounted on the side.

The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset. The processor is a 6nm processor which packs two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The chipset pairs with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and a 5G (sub-6) modem. The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

For photography, the F91packs a 48 MP Samsung GM1 sensor with support for night mode with multi-frame noise reduction. The main camera teams up with a 115° ultra-wide-angle camera with a 5MP sensor, a 2MP macro cam, and a 2 MP depth sensor in a Quad-camera arrangement.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and 10W wireless charging. The F91 runs on the Android 11 operating system out of the box. Inside the box, there is also a charger, a USB-C cable, a headset, a glass screen protector, and a rugged case.

As for the price, the BLU F91 5G will be sold on Amazon in the US. It is presently retailing for $200 but will berth at $300 after the flash sale.
