Redmi 10 vs Redmi 10A vs Redmi 10C: Specs Comparison

The Redmi 10 came back in 2022 in a new version for the Indian market. The Indian version of the Redmi 10 is very different from the model launched last year and it brings a new processor to the market, as well as a bigger battery. Besides this device, the Chinese giant also came up with two other variants from the same series: the Redmi 10A and the Redmi 10C. For a lot of users, it is hard to understand which of these devices is the best and which one provides the highest value for money. We decided to publish this comparison between the specifications of the Redmi 10, the Redmi 10A, and the Redmi 10C in order to highlight the differences between these three handsets and help you to find out which one is the best choice.

Design

It is impossible to distinguish the design of the Redmi 10 and the one of the Redmi 10C: they look like the same handset because they come with the same camera module and the same display with a waterdrop notch. The Redmi 10C wins the design comparison because it is thinner and lighter than the vanilla version and even than the Redmi 10A. Given that it comes with just one single sensor on the rear side, the 10A has a smaller camera module, which is why you can distinguish it from the other two. Further, it is a more compact phone because it packs a smaller display. All of these phones are entirely made of polycarbonate with the exception of the front glass, but the Redmi 10 is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the strongest protection by Corning in this trio.

Display

The display quality of these three handsets is exactly the same because they have the same display specifications. We are talking about three IPS LCD panels with HD+ resolutions of 720p. However, you should note that the Redmi 10 and the 10C come with a wider panel, thanks to a 6.7-inch diagonal. All have a waterdrop notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Their refresh rate is standard and there is no additional technology to improve the image quality, so do not expect a great color reproduction. Even the level of detail provided by these displays is not impressive. They are sufficient panels, but nothing more.

Hardware/Software

The Redmi 10 and the 10C come with stronger hardware: they are powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. The Redmi 10A has an inferior MediaTek Helio G25 chipset and just 4 GB of RAM. The Redmi 10 and the Redmi 10C run a more recent version of Xiaomi’s customization: the MIUI 13, even though it is still based on Android 11. With the Redmi 10A, you get the older MIUI 12.5.

Camera

The Redmi 10 and the 10C also pack better cameras: on the rear side, they sport a 50 MP main sensor and an additional 2 MP depth sensor, while the Redmi 10A sports a single and disappointing 13 MP camera like the one you could find on the Redmi 4A several years ago.

Battery

The Redmi 10 wins the battery comparison because it packs a bigger 6000 mAh battery with stunning battery life. The Redmi 10C and the 10A still come with big batteries, but they stop at 5000 mAh.

Xiaomi Redmi 10 vs Xiaomi Redmi 10A vs Xiaomi Redmi 10C: Price

The starting price of the Redmi 10 (Rs. 10,999) roughly translates into €130 at the actual change, the Redmi 10A starts from €90/$98, and the 10C sits in the middle in its base variant. The Redmi 10 wins the comparison thanks to a bigger battery.

Acer Halts its Business Operations in Russia Amid Current Humanitarian Crisis

Acer is a Taiwanese international hardware and electronics corporation, specializing in advanced electronics technology. The company is most well renowned for its laptops internationally, specifically for its Acer Nitro gaming lineup, Acer Swift ultrabook series and Acer Aspire budget lineup.

Acer Swift 5

Over the years, the company has proved to be a strong competitor in the laptop space with its relatively performant laptops at affordable prices and has since expanded globally to regions beyond Asia such as in the United States, Europe, Australia and also Russia.

However, it seems that the brand is halting its operations in one of its key global markets amid the region’s current humanitarian crisis. The region, in particular, is called Russia.

As the situation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine does not seem to be slowing down, Acer recently published a media statement on Twitter stating that the company will be suspending its business operations in Russia. The decision was made in compliance with international trade laws and regulations in mind as several countries and regions have decided to impose sanctions on Russia to denounce the Russian Federation for its foreign special military operations in Ukraine.

Acer in the statement also mentions that the company is closely following the developments of the war between Russia and Ukraine. The company emphasises that Acer prioritises the safety of its employees, which includes providing assistance to every individual and family affected by the war.

To conclude the statement, Acer extends its warm wishes that peace will be restored as soon as possible. The brand is also working closely with several international agencies and NGOs to provide humanitarian support in the conflict regions.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra alleged official poster reveals launch date

It was expected that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra would be launched alongside the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro in China with the launch event for the three held back in December 2021. When that did not happen, the release date was unofficially set for March given the Mi 11 Ultra was made available during the same time. But an alleged poster now shows that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be launched on May 10th.

xiaomi 12 ultra alleged poster

Shared by Ben Geskin on Twitter, the alleged poster only mentions the name of the device, its launch date, and that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. While the thing does look quite convincing, it isn’t clear if it’s the real deal or not. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is an unannounced chip, so its appearance on a poster looks far-fetched.

But even if false, all fingers do seem to be pointing toward a May launch for the device. A new report that cited reliable tipster Mukul Sharma as the source revealed the month when it will be made official.

Recent reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be equipped with a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display, which uses LTPO 2.0 technology. It is expected to carry support for 10-bit colors and has a 120Hz refresh rate.

According to Digital Chat Station, the flagship phone will continue to use ceramic for its rear and will be sold in at least white and black color options.

HUAWEI’s next big operating system update has been tipped to land sometime in July by Wangzai Knows Everything on Weibo. Called HarmonyOS 3.0, the update is currently under its Developer Preview phase with builds being released regularly.

harmonyos 3 launch date tip

HarmonyOS 3.0 beta rollouts were originally scheduled for March with stable releases following in July but a report from a few days back indicated that the launch may be delayed. However, it now looks that the stable version of the update will in fact be released per schedule.

If the news holds true, then we may likely see the HUAWEI Mate 50 series, that’s scheduled to launch also in July, boot into HarmonyOS 3.0 right out of the box. The phone will be sold in two variants — one with the Snapdragon 888 4G chip and the other with the Kirin 9000 4G chip — yep, no 5G once again owing to the US ban.

At the end of 2021, it was reported that more than 220 million devices have been equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS operating system, and over a hundred HUAWEI mobile phones will be eligible for the upcoming version.

Huawei’s Hongmeng Zhilian has already acquired 2,000 partners meaning we should be seeing even more devices supporting the HarmonyOS hardware ecosystem and deeper integration with the world of IoT.

STORM2 Slim Review – 20000mAh Cyberpunk Power Bank

If you are interested in charging devices like chargers or Power Bank, you must know the brand called Shargeek. And there’s a chance you might have heard of their famous STORM 2 power bank. Its unique look is really rare and is a very popular design style among geeks.

Now, we have got our hands on another version of the STORM2: the STORM2 Slim.

The STORM2 Slim box is really, really simple, with colorful lettering on a black background. Open the box. You can see there is no charging cable. The only accessories are a woven bag and a manual. So if you want to enjoy the fastest charging speed for a variety of devices, then you must bring your own high-spec charging cable.

Like STORM2, the biggest selling point of STORM2 Slim is definitely the design of the transparent shell. The transparent shell allows you to see the internal circuit boards and electronic components. I need to tell you that it is not a decoration, but a real working circuit board. The four purple columns are four 21700 lithium batteries, this type of battery and Tesla’s car battery is the same.

Storm2 Slim review 13The advantage of this battery is the best balance between size and capacity. Geeks must love the design, and even non-geeks will think that the Power Bank is very high-tech. The small screen from STORM2 is of course retained in the Slim version. Next to the screen are buttons to operate it.Storm2 Slim review 15

Why is the STORM2 Slim smaller than the STORM2? The answer lies in its front. You can see that it lacks a Type C port and a DC port, and the number of batteries is cut in half. This is the price of the smaller size. However, considering that most people do not use the DC port, reducing the size should be a change that the public would prefer. While the transparent shell is very nice to look at, it is also very easy to scratch. So you can see that Shargeek gave a woven bag, and the Power Bank wrapped tightly. It is to prevent you from accidentally scratching it. Anyway, this is the only one with such a cool cyberpunk style Power Bank, and I believe you will be hard-pressed to find a better-looking Power Bank.

Let’s talk about this little screen. It shows everything about the Power Bank. For example, charging power, voltage and current, remaining current, and even battery pack and circuit board temperature. Because it is equipped with the same Energy Storage Management OS as STORM2, you can make more detailed settings for its screen. This small screen is the equivalent of a Voltage Current Tester embedded in a Power Bank. This has the advantage that if you are like me, you are very concerned about whether the device is charging at maximum power. Then this Power Bank is just right for you. After all, if it’s not charging at maximum power, then there’s no point in me buying such a high-powered Power Bank.

Storm2 Slim review 08

Geeks won’t buy it if it just looks good but doesn’t work well. That’s why Shargeek has equipped the Power Bank with a 72Wh battery pack, which is equivalent to 20,000mAh. Because its capacity is below the maximum capacity limit that most airlines allow on board, you can take it on the plane without any problems. It has two charging ports with a maximum output of 130w at the same time, and a single port can also output up to 100w. The input power is also capable of reaching about 65w. Charging compatibility performance is also very good. The USB-A port supports all protocols except PD protocol, QC 4.0 and VOOC DASH protocol. And the USB-C port supports QC 5, PD 3.0 and PPS protocols. PDO has five fixed sets of levels covering 5 to 20 volts. The two port protocols add up to cover the full range of protocols. So don’t worry about your device not being able to fast charge, there is always a protocol that can Handshake with your device.

Storm2 Slim review 06

We tested the devices we have.

  • Charging the Xiaomi 12 Pro supports up to 20w
  • Mi 11 Ultra supports up to 28w
  • Redmi K50 Gaming Edition up to 42w
  • Redmi Note 10 Pro China version supports up to 15w
  • iPhone 11 supports up to 8w
  • OPPO Find X5 Pro up to 17w
  • HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro up to 11w

  • The Nintendo Switch supports up to 8w at 90% power, and can activate TV mode.

Storm2 Slim review 02

So why would we buy such an expensive Power Bank.  If only for the high power or compatibility, there are many cheaper Power Banks on the market to choose from. The only reason you choose STORM2 Slim, is its beautiful appearance. As you can see from the name of the brand Shargeek, they wanted to make something that geeks would like. And they did.

How to activate eSIM on iPhone 13?

With smartphones advancing in features at a tremendous pace every year, manufacturers are in the pursuit to make components smaller and more efficient. One such change is in the SIM card technology with the introduction of the latest eSIM technology. It is an evolved form of our traditional SIM aka Subscriber Identity Module. As you would expect, one of the advantages is that it requires less physical phone space. A number of smartphones and smart gadgets come with eSIMs, including the latest iPhone 13 series.

Must See: Strong iPhone 13 sales helped Apple beat Xiaomi in Vietnam in Q4 2021
In this article, we’ll show you how to use Dual SIM on iPhone 13 after activating the eSIM service.
For the unversed, an eSIM is a virtual SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan from a carrier without the need for a physical SIM. With the latest iPhone 13 Series, Apple allows users to use Dual SIM with either two active eSIMs or a nano-SIM and an eSIM. While iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 11 Series, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, feature dual SIM with a nano-SIM and an eSIM.

Once enabled, the dual-sim can be very useful as you can use one number for business and another number for personal calls, add a local data plan when you travel outside the country without the need to switch SIM card modules, and last but not the least, subscribe for two separate voice and data plans.

Steps to enable cellular plan with eSIM

On iPhone 13 series you can use two eSIMs for two or more cellular plans (only two active at a time) or a physical nano-SIM for a cellular plan and an eSIM for one or more other cellular plans.

Manual Way – Add a new eSIM on iPhone 13

You may manually enter your plan information to activate a new eSIM.

To enter your plan information manually, follow these steps:

  1. Head over to Settings.
  2. Tap the option for Cellular or Mobile Data.
  3. Then, tap Add Cellular Plan option.
  4. Finally, tap Enter Details Manually, at the bottom of your iPhone 13 display.

As mentioned earlier, you may store multiple eSIMs in your iPhone, but you can only use one at a time. But if you have multiple eSIMs entered on your phone, you can easily switch between two or more eSIMs.

For that:

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data.
  • And then tap the plan you want to use.
  • Finally, tap Turn On This Line.

Label for easy identification

Once the second plan is activated, label your plans for easy identification. For instance, you may label one plan a Personal/Home and the other plan Business or any custom labels.

You’ll use these labels when you choose which phone number to use for making or receiving calls and messages, to designate a number for cellular data, and to assign a number to your contacts.

Labels are changeable and in the future, if you need to change the assigned labels, then you can go to Settings, tap either Cellular or Mobile Data, and then tap the number whose label you want to change. Then tap Cellular Plan Label and select a new label or enter a custom label.

Another thing you can do is to select a number to use as default when you call or push a text message to anyone, not in your Contacts. With iOS 13 or later, you can also select which cellular plans you want to use for iMessage and FaceTime. Fortunately, iOS 13 and later OSes allow you to choose either or both numbers.

On this screen, choose a number to be your default, or you can choose which number is to be used only for cellular data. Your other number will be your default. Allow Cellular Data Switching option enables your iPhone 13 to use cellular data from both plans, depending on coverage and availability.

We’d recommend you to turn it on!

So this is pretty much how you can use Dual SIMs on iPhones. Apple has been reluctant to provide Dual SIM slots for ages and thanks to the introduction of eSIMs, the latest Apple iPhone users can enjoy having two SIMs at a time.
