Realme recently confirmed that the latest device in their numbered series dubbed the Realme 9 4G will be launching on April 7th in India. Now, the landing page of the device has appeared on Flipkart and Realme India website confirming some of its specs.
The listing reveals that the upcoming Realme 9 4G will come equipped with a 90Hz Super AMOLED display with a 360Hz touch sampling rate and 1000 nits of peak brightness. The screen will also house an in-display fingerprint scanner which will double as a heart rate monitor. Previously, Realme has also offered this feature on the 9 Pro+ devices. On the Realme 9 Pro+, it works by opening the heart rate measurement tool on the device and keeping a finger pressed on the fingerprint scanner until it shows a reading on the screen. So we can expect the feature to operate similarly on the 4G sibling.
The landing page also reveals that the device will come with a triple camera setup on the back comprising of a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 primary sensor, a 120-degree super-wide-angle camera, and a macro lens. The phone will have a slim 7.99mm body and weigh just 178 grams. It will also feature the Ripple Holographic design on the rear which it will share in common with the Realme 9 5G.
Other than that, the smartphone will have a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port on the bottom along with a speaker grill. The smartphone will have three color variants namely Sunburst Gold, Meteor Black, and Stargaze White. Previous rumors state that the handset will feature a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging and will come in two variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. It is also rumored that the smartphone might feature a 6.6-inch display and boot Android 12 out of the box.
Xiaomi doesn’t usually grant more than a single Android update for its budget devices, but news of Android 12 internal testing for the Redmi 9T seems to be signaling a change in the company’s update strategy. The phone, which was launched with Android 10-based MIUI 12, may soon be getting its second Android upgrade in the form of Android 12.
As spotted by Xiaomiui, build 22.4.2 based on Android 12 has begun testing internally for the global variant of the Redmi 9T. It isn’t clear if the build will be labeled MIUI 13 when it’s rolled out, although it does look quite probable.
Via Xiaomiui
Of course, Android 12 will be the very Android version bump that the Redmi 9T will receive, but it’s not known if MIUI 13 will be the final MIUI upgrade.
As for when the leaked build will be officially rolled out for the Redmi 9T, well, there’s no clue as of yet. Xiaomiui expects it to be seeded after 3-4 months, which definitely isn’t the speediest we’ve seen, but considering the device was never meant to receive a second Android update in the first place, we aren’t complaining.
MIUI 13 isn’t a major update by any means and the number of new stuff you get with it seems to depend on the price of the device you own, for some reason. Devices like the Xiaomi Mi 11X have seen multiple new features while others like Redmi Note 10 Pro are left with barely any new items over MIUI 12.5.
iPhone 12 was released almost 18 months ago with the iOS 14 on board. The device is upgradeable to the latest iOS 15.3.1 and should receive major updates till iOS 19 (or whatever it may be called then). That is over 5 generations of OS upgrades!
Here, we’ll take you through how to get the battery percentage icon on iPhone 12.
Enabling the battery percentage icon on the status bar is easy as pie on iOS. If needed, you may also add a widget to the Home Screen for better visibility. We’ll be sharing the steps in detail below.
Display the iPhone 12 battery percentage
The battery percentage icon helps you to view how much charge remains in your iPhone 12 battery in the status bar. You can also add a widget to the Home Screen to regularly check the battery status of your iPhone 12 or even connected accessories (including AirPods and other devices).
Steps to get iPhone 12 battery percentage in the status bar
It’s pretty simple to show the battery percentage on the status bar of the iPhone 12 just by a simple swipe. Yes, all you have to do is swipe down from the top-right corner of the display.
Swipe Down to Reveal the Battery Percentage
Add a Battery widget to your Home Screen
In order to add a battery widget to the home screen, follow the below steps.
Touch and hold the Home Screen wallpaper or background until the apps begin to jiggle or shake.
Tap “+” icon at the top of the screen. Then you have to scroll down and tap “Batteries“.
Swipe left and right through the widgets to view the size options. The different sizes display different information.
Once you choose the size you want, tap Add Widget.
Finally, tap Done to make the widget applied on your Home Screen.
If you don’t want the widget and are OK with the default battery percentage in the status bar, you may remove the widget by these steps.
Touch and hold the battery percentage widget to open the quick actions menu.
Tap Remove Widget (or Remove Stack), then tap Remove.
That’s it! This is how you can closely monitor the battery level on your iPhone 12. The steps are applicable for any iPhone 12 Series and even for the latest iPhone 13 Series.
Have you ever carried around an air compressor for inflating your car tires, and then wondered if its necessary to store another CO2 inflator for your bicycle tires? And for the convenience of inflating your basketball, you might also have to keep a hand pump in your room.
Personally, I have come across all of these situations over the past few years.
But no need to feel sorry for me. As a tech reviewer, it’s ridiculous that I never thought about anything that could fix this embarrassing situation. But now the age of carrying around multiple pumps are over after I saw the Fanttik X8 Apex compact Air inflator. And this one device can solve multiple problems.
The Fanttik X8 Apex can be one of the most useful tools in your car trunk, and more importantly, it won’t occupy much space no matter where you place it. The 7.78-inch x 2.5-inch x 2.5-inch (2000 x 635 x 635mm) unit is one of the most compact multi-use air inflators. And thanks to the light weight of 848g, it’s handy enough to carry it anywhere instead of ‘dragging’ it around. Inside the compact tube, Fanttik just equipped it with a 29 Wh battery offering 7800mAh (3*2600mAh), which is powerful enough for a portable air inflator. It can support inflating more than 4 car tires or 13 bicycle tires or 80 basketballs in each full charge. So with the powerful battery performance, the brand gives it other features to make it even more useful.
There’s a built-in flashlight on the top, with which users can turn it into a hand torch for emergency use, though it’s not particularly bright. And turn it over, you will find an additional USB-A port for pushing out power next to the Type-C charging port. It allows you to use it as a power bank to charge devices such as phones and tablets.
Not just being convenient, the X8 Apex is also easy to use. When I first used it, I had no problems operating it even without the manual. Once you turn on the air inflator, a large LED panel shows you the battery level on the top, a digital air pressure gauge in the middle, and another selectable readout as preset pressure. What makes it so easy-to-use is that in addition to manual mode, it comes with four smart modes-Car, Motorcycle, Bicycle and Ball. Even for the inexperienced, the inflating process wouldn’t be intimidating.
Or if you knew exactly what air pressure you want in the tire, the manual mode would be better for you. All you need is to select the value you want and screw on the valve. Then press the power button, and the air inflator starts working and pumps up the tire or ball just right to the level you just set. Impressively, it won’t take long. The X8 APEX has a built-in chip that can quickly inflate tires and provide max pressure of 150 PSI and airflow of 32L/Min. In my experience, it took only 16s to pump up my road bike tire (around 0-45 PSI) and 7s to pump up a basketball (0-8 PSI). To pump up a normal car tire, it took a bit longer, but still finished inflation within 6 minutes. The great thing is that you no longer have to keep a close eye on the pressure gauge or count the time to prevent over-inflation during the inflating time.
The maximum pressure of 150 PSI is already enough for anything I am inflating, but apart from the excellent inflating performance, the only downside that I would complain about is the noise it makes, which is a bit loud (<80dB). But it seems that there are no alternatives that have such efficiency without making a loud noise. However, most traditional air inflators produce even louder noise when they are at work. So it’s better to make sure that you avoid using it at quiet times or places where you can make much noise. Another thing that you need to be careful of is the heating issue. Although the X8 APEX comes with pretty powerful cooling design, as suggested, it’s better not to be used continuously for over 10 minutes, so just take a break before re-use.
Apart from the above-mentioned features, it almost perfectly fits my imagination of a portable inflating tool and even exceeds it. The X8 APEX is also very easy to store after use. The included pouch is a very nice way to store it: unscrew the hose and just put it inside the air inflator with the hose and other accessories. In addition to the punch, other accessories include a Schrader-Presta valve adaptor (for bicycle tires), a Needle valve adaptor (for balls), and a short USB-a to USB-c charging cable. With all of these accessories, the air inflator fits most inflatable stuff.
The Fanttik X8 APEX probably is one of the dream tools for those who drive cars or ride motorcycles/bicycles a lot. It can effectively restore your tires in question back to top condition on long outdoor trips, while the portable size won’t make it a bulky burden.
After the Samsung app throttling debacle, it has now come to light that Xiaomi may be just as guilty. Geekbench co-founder John Poole earlier claimed on Twitter that Xiaomi is limiting performance based on app names, much like Samsung was, and revealed that disguising Geekbench as Fortnite caused the Mi 11’s single-core performance score to drop by 30% and multi-core performance score by 15%.
“Xiaomi applies temperature management strategies to ensure an optimal product experience, especially with demanding apps that are often used for extended periods of time. On many of our devices, we offer 3 types of performance modes, allowing users to adjust the balance between performance and energy efficiency At the system level, all optimizations related to application performance weigh many essential factors, such as power consumption, performance, and thermal impact.”
To summarize, Xiaomi hasn’t denied the allegations and has admitted to the employment of “temperature management strategies” to adjust power consumption and performance in order to “ensure an optimal product experience.”
Looks like Xiaomi is also making performance decisions based on application identifiers.
Xiaomi also seems to be implying that the performance limitations can be bypassed to a certain degree through the built-in performance modes. Switching to the performance mode should prioritize performance at the cost of reduced battery life, so if you feel your phone’s running a little jittery, you know what to do.
However, it is worth mentioning here that the 3-level performance modes are limited to phones with high-end chips, making it likely that Xiaomi’s app-name-based throttling is a premium phone-only affair.
John Poole had previously posted some comparison data showing that Geekbench on the Xiaomi Mi 11 when disguised as Fortnite resulted in some significantly dropped scores — single-core dropped from 1,129 to 791 while multi-core dropped from 3,714 to 3,125. Similar reductions were seen when Geekbench was disguised as Genshin Impact.

The HONOR product launch scheduled for May has been tipped to lift the curtains on a number of products. Along with a new laptop series, the company will also be launching a new flagship tablet, says tipster Factory Manager.
The flagship tablet will be equipped with a “very powerful” chip, likely a flagship one, and will set the benchmark for 2022 Android tablets. While not explicitly mentioned, the tipster did hint that the said chip will be another version of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 with a higher frequency. This version is aimed specifically at tablets and power-efficient notebooks and will likely not be making its way to smartphones.
HONOR released the V7 Pro tablet last year with a similar chipset called the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T. The processor is based on TSMC’s 6nm process and has 4×A78 large cores + 4×A55 small cores, and it’s likely that the chip described above will be a part of the Kompanio series as well.
In terms of laptops to be launched with the May event, there will be a new HONOR MagicBook series that will be equipped with 12th Gen Intel or Ryzen 6000 series processors.
Earlier, the same tipster also said that Huawei will hold an event in April to launch the new MateBook notebook and Huawei Band 7.

Honor recently announced that the company will be hosting a new product launch event on the 7th of April in its home market China where the upcoming Honor Play 6T smartphones will be made official.
Now, just days ahead of the launch, a new report has surfaced online which reveals that all the models in the lineup will come powered by the MediaTek processor.
While it has been revealed that MediaTek chips will be powering the phones in the Honor Play 6T series, the exact model of the processor has not been revealed. However, it is said that it won’t be the MediaTek Dimensity 820.
The Honor Play6T Pro has been spotted on TENAA, which reveals that the phone will come with a flat screen having a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. It has a thickness of 7.45mm and weighs just 175 grams.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the testing of the Nord Buds is now going on and it has appeared in the database of the BIS authority in India. Each earbud has a 41mAh battery, and its charging case has a 480mAh battery. There is no other information available on the specs of the Nord Buds.

Google is expected to reveal some information about the next-generation Android 13 operating system at the upcoming annual developer conference next month. While some of the features of Android 13 have leaked online, the company could officially reveal these features at the conference.
As per the latest report, the search engine giant is now working on a feature that will allow users of Android 13-powered smartphones to have dual SIM capability on a device with a single eSIM chip.
Currently, eSIM allows only one subscriber line to be active at a time. So Google has been working on a way to offer dual-SIM support using a single eSIM chip. For this, the company has developed multiple enabled profiles (MEP), allowing one eSIM element to actively connect to two carriers simultaneously.
Google was granted a patent for this technology back in 2020 and is reportedly planning to include it with the final release of Android 13 during the third quarter of this year.
Apart from Android 13, the support for MEP could be available for other devices, including those running iOS, macOS, and Windows, as mentioned in the patent application. The Pixel series smartphones are reportedly being tested for this new feature and there’s a possibility that Google could license the technology to other companies.
There are a couple of features of the Android 13 that have already leaked online, including support for controlling the brightness level of the flashlight and allowing notifications to be dragged on the display in split-screen mode, among others.

Fresh information reveals that the Nord CE 2 Lite with GN200 model number has bagged Bluetooth SIG certification, which indicates that its launch may not be far away.

Last year, LG shut down its smartphone business but the company had promised that it would continue to provide software updates and support services to its smartphone users for some time.
Keeping the promise, the company has now revealed a list of smartphones that will be getting the new Android 12 update in the South Korean market.
LG has revealed that the Q92 5G, V50 ThinQ, and V50S ThinQ smartphones will receive the Android 12 update in the second quarter of this year while the LG Q52, LG Valvet, and LG Wing smartphones will get security updates.
The LG V60 smartphone is missing from the list of devices set to get the new update but since the device didn’t get released in the South Korean market, it is not included in the list for updates in South Korea.
The company is determined to not keep its customers hanging and thus, it has also revealed that the LG Wing and LG Valvet smartphones will also get the next major update for the operating system — Android 13, which is expected to release in Q3 2022.
Last month, LG had confirmed and released the Android 12 update for the Valvet smartphone, making it the first phone from the brand to run the latest Android 12 operating system. Although the company didn’t have a good track record earlier when it comes to software updates, things look different now.
When it comes to electric vehicles, NIO is one of the leading Chinese brands in the sector. Even at that, the market is entirely a new one and so the company cannot be said to be in the league of Tesla or even Apple, ranked as one of the world’s most valuable companies. Turns out the Chinese EV manufacturer is looking at taking on Apple in the smartphone segment. A recent disclosure by NIO’s CEO William Li indicates that the company is working towards making an entrance into the smartphone market.
NIO EC6
Li had recently affirmed that the brand’s foray into the smartphone market is still steaming at the research phase but the CEO has confirmed that producing its own smartphones is definitely on the radar. The plan is hinged on a lofty aspiration which is to become one of Apple’s rivals in the future. While some may be a tall order, we should remind our readers that Apple is also planning to enter the EV market. Thus, we may likely see Apple becoming a force to reckon with the electric vehicles market before NIO will be able to make any meaningful headway.
However, the Chinese EV manufacturer which opened shop in 2014 has been blazing the trail as one of the foremost EV brands with models such as the ES8, ES6, and EC6 electric SUVs. Therefore, the brand may have something special up its sleeves.
Apart from its SUV lineup, NIO also has a couple of electric sedans including the ET7 released recently and the ET5 which is still in the works. The brand’s EVs are equipped with stellar features that have made it the toast of buyers in China and even in some parts of Europe such as Norway and Germany.
The brand’s CEO is reported to have stated that the drive to enter the smartphone market was due to yearnings by NIO customers for a phone that connects better with cars. One question that would readily come to mind is why the company didn’t make its software integrate seamlessly with Android and iOS phones. NIO’s CEO answered this recently when he disclosed that the brand’s latest EVs come with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology but Apple does not offer an open interface. With such a scenario, it would be difficult to design features for NIO EV owners who use Apple phones.
This move is also aimed at mitigating the shockwave that could result from Apple announcing its own electric car in the near future. Because the company can utilize its closed-source UWB to provide integrated features between its phones and cars, that could give it a bigger edge that could help it win some market shares off already existing brands like NIO.
In a sort of reverse order, Chinese phone manufacturer, Xiaomi is looking to enter the EV market in 2024 and has already commenced the construction of a car manufacturing plant capable of rolling out 300,000 EVs annually. Foxconn and Baidu are also among the Chinese companies attempting to enter the EV market.
