Samsung launches Galaxy S22 Ultra 1TB model option in India

Samsung Electronics has just released a new model of its top end Galaxy S22 Ultra flagship device in India. The most expensive version in the lineup will now be available in a new 1TB storage configuration option.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G

For those unaware, the South Korean tech giant had just recently launched its latest flagship Galaxy S22 series in India. This included the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and the the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, the Ultra variant was only available in two storage options, namely 12GB of RAM paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. But now, the brand has released the Galaxy S22 Ultra with 12GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of internal storage.

Apart from the notably bump in storage capacity, there is no other change in this particular model apart from its pricing. While the base Galaxy S22 Ultra with 256GB costs 109,999 INR (roughly 1,440 US Dollars) and the 512GB versions costs 118,999 INR (roughly 1,560 US Dollars), the new 1TB option is priced at 134,999 INR (roughly 1,770 US Dollars). As of right now, the device can be bought in the Phantom Black, Phantom White and Burgundy colors, but the Green option is still not available in India.

It boots Android 12 OS based One UI 4.1 out of the box and sports a 6.8 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display that has a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the rear, it houses a 108 megapixel quad camera setup, while the front has a 40 megapixel selfie shooter.

Huawei Mate X3 key specifications tipped, bags TENAA certification

It was reported earlier this month that Huawei is working on the Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone. Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to confirm some of the key specs of the device. It appears that the launch date of the Mate X3 may not be far away as it seems to have received approval from the TENAA authority of China.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Huawei Mate X3 will be sporting an in-ward folding design and will come equipped with a high refresh rate display. He added that the device will be equipped with the Kirin 9000 4G chipset, a 4,500mAh battery, and the latest HongMeng OS (HarmonyOS) 2.0.1 edition.

The tipster did not share any information on the launch date of the Huawei Mate X3. A Huawei device with model number PAL-AL00 was spotted in the database of the CMIIT authority earlier this month. Now, the same device has bagged approval from the TENAA authority of China.

Speculations are rife that the Huawei PAL-AL00, which is a 4G LTE device, will break cover as the Mate X3 foldable phone. Unfortunately, the TENAA listing of the PAL-AL00 has no information on its specifications. The mere appearance of the device at TENAA is a good hint that its launch may not be far away.

Last year, Huawei announced the Huawei Mate X2 4G in June and was made available for purchase in July. Hence, it is likely that the Mate X3 4G may go official around the same time this year. To recall, the Mate X2 came with specs like a 6.45-inch 90Hz OLED cover display, an 8-inch OLED 90Hz foldable screen, a Kirin 9000 chip, 50-megapixel quad cameras, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging support.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro models design schematics leak gives a more details look at the devices

Apple is still months away from announcing the next-generation iPhone models but still, leaks related to the upcoming iPhone 14 series have already started surfacing online.

In the latest leak, the design of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones have surfaced online, giving us a detailed look at how the devices will look and differ from the Cupertino-based giant’s current devices.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Schematics

A well-known tipster Max Weinbach has shared design schematics for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, giving us a super-detailed look at the design of the upcoming smartphone. It is said to measure 147.46 x 71.45 x 7.85mm, making it a bit taller and thicker than its predecessor.

On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be slightly shorter and thinner, but no one will be able to notice it with the naked eye. The height is going down from 160.8mm to 160.7mm while the width is being reduced from 78.1mm to 77.58mm.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Schematics

It is being said that the camera bulge on the iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones will be more prominent, measuring 12.02mm compared to 11.45mm on current models. The size of the camera module is also set to increase in the new models.

If the rumors are to be believed, then the Apple iPhone 14 will continue to feature a notch on top of the screen but the Pro models will get rid of the notch and will instead have pill-shaped cutouts for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors.

There are also reports that claim iPhone 14 and 14 Max is powered by the current-generation Apple A15 Bionic process while the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will come powered by the new A16 Bionic chip built using 4nm process. We expect to get more information about the devices in the coming months.

Samsung Galaxy S22 vs iPhone SE 2022: Specs Comparison

A few days ago the third generation of the affordable iPhone officially went on sale all around the world. The iPhone SE 2022 offers a flagship-class hardware department and other advanced features at an affordable price if compared with the other iPhones out there, and it is also very compact. That is the reason why we decided to compare it to other compact flagship. Days ago, we decided to compare it to the Xiaomi 12 because of its compact dimensions. Now, even if the two phones belong to different price ranges, it is the turn of the Samsung Galaxy S22, the vanilla version of the S22 series which comes with a small 6.1-inch display.

Design

The design is not the strong point of the iPhone SE 2022. Even though it debuted in 2022, it has a very old design as it looks like the old iPhone 8 from 2017. This means it comes with thick bezels around the display: indeed, there is room for the old Touch ID including a fingerprint reader below the display. The Samsung Galaxy S22 is definitely better in terms of design, thanks to a borderless display with a centrally-placed punch hole and an elegant glass back. The Samsung Galaxy S22 is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus Plus and it has the IP68 certification, while the iPhone SE 2022 is protected by Ceramic Shield and has the IP67 certification. Both are great in terms of build quality.

Display

The iPhone SE 2022 comes with a pretty nice Retina display sporting a diagonal of 4.7 inches, but the Samsung Galaxy S22 beats it easily. The S22 sports a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (while the iPhone has an LCD panel) with a diagonal of 6.1 inches, a higher Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the HDR10+ certification, and even a high 120 Hz refresh rate. It provides higher color accuracy and deeper blacks, as well as an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint reader instead of the outdated Touch ID. There is definitely no challenge: the panel found on the Samsung Galaxy S22 is superior from every point of view.

Specs & Software

The iPhone SE 2022 and the Samsung Galaxy S22 are flagship phones which have nothing to envy if compared to the other flagships in the current market. The former is powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chipset: the same processor as the iPhone 13 series, but it is paired with 4 GB of RAM and either 64 or 256 GB of internal storage. The latter is fueled either by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Samsung Exynos 2200 SoC paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage depending on the memory configuration. Despite the Galaxy S22 looking better on paper, the iPhone SE 2022 provides higher performance thanks to the optimization of the iOS operating system.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with superior cameras as well. It has a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 10 MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. It supports PDAF, 4K video recording at 60 fps, and 8K video recording at 24 fps. The iPhone SE 2022 has just one single 12 MP rear camera which provides great photo quality, but it can not compete with the Galaxy S22.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is equipped with a bigger 3700 mAh battery and, despite the iOS optimization, it provides a longer battery life in several scenarios because the iPhone has a way smaller unit. Both the phones support fast charging and wireless charging, but the charging speeds are not very high.

Price

The iPhone SE 2022 has a €499/$429 starting price, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 starts from $799/€799. The Samsung flagship is definitely a better device thanks to its great build quality, superior display, and cameras. But you can save a lot of money by choosing the iPhone while still getting the top-notch performance and an amazing phone from every aspect.

Huawei Vision S smart TV berths in Europe in two models & at bargain prices

Huawei Vision S TV series is now available in Europe after their China launch last year. The 55-inch and 65-inch models of the Vision S offer 120Hz display refresh rates and are both pretty cheap. Both TVs offer 4K output and a 5000:1 contrast ratio.Huawei

The Europe rollout of the Huawei Vision S series begins with Spain but it is expected to subsequently spread to other markets. The Huawei Vision S TV series was unveiled in 2021 and has earlier berthed in some Asian markets after its China launch. There are no differences in the Europe version from the initial 55-inch and 65-inch models earlier launched in China. They are however budget TVs which is quite a bargain for their features.

The Huawei Vision S 55” is offered at a discounted price of €400 ($439) while the Vision S 65” is sold at €600 ($659). The discounts subsist till March 27 when the TVs will revert to their original prices of €800 ($878) and €1,000 ($1,098) respectively. Huawei says a wall-mount and generous payment plans details are available from the Spanish website of the company. Interested buyers in Spain should therefore go to the product page of the Huawei Vision S for more details.

As per ports, the Huawei Vision S has three HDMI 2.0 ports, one USB-A port, six mics, a 13MP webcam, and four speakers. The two models run on Huawei’s homegrown Harmony OS 2.0. The lineup of input ports available and the 120Hz display refresh rates of the Vision S models means that the TV may not be suitable for gaming via the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

Apple’s iPhone SE 3 teardown reveals Snapdragon X57 modem & 2,018mAh battery capacity

A YouTube video of the teardown of the iPhone SE 3 has surfaced. The video provides an insightful look into the internals of the third-generation budget iPhone SE. The teardown indicates that the iPhone SE 3 has a larger battery than its predecessor the iPhone SE 2 and also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X57 modem for 5G connectivity.

When compared with the iPhone SE 2 battery at 1,821 mAh, the iPhone SE 3 has a larger 2,018 mAh battery. This translates to up to two extra hours of video playback or 10 hours of audio playback for the new model. The Snapdragon X57 modem seems to be custom-made for the iPhone SE 3 and its 5G support is limited to bands below 6GHz. Unlike the iPhone 13 series, the iPhone SE 3 will not support the faster mmWave bands in the 5G spectrum.

The iPhone SE 3 has an additional 1GB of RAM resource ahead of its predecessor. Its 4GB of RAM provides a marginal increment in processing capabilities. The YouTube video does not indicate any repairability metrics for the iPhone SE 3 although more teardown details could be out in the coming days. Overall, the iPhone SE 3 has similar internals to the iPhone SE 2.

Till now, the feature has been available to users under WhatsApp’s opt-in beta testing program, but now, according to WABetainfo, the update will roll out to iOS users this month, followed by an Android release next month.

WhatsApp Multi-device

For those unaware, this feature will remove the online connection requirement on your smartphone for the chatting platform to be used on multiple devices. Previously, users had to have a stable internet connection on their smartphones to be able to use the messaging service on any other device like a desktop PC, or a laptop. In other words, it had to be linked to your smartphone to have the conversations synced.

The feature allows up to four linked devices and one phone at a time and will disconnect the linked devices if the phone stays inactive for 14 days. According to WhatsApp, viewing live location is not possible on paired devices. Creating and viewing broadcast lists or sending messages with link previews from WhatsApp Web cannot be performed on secondary devices. Also, iPhone users cannot delete or clear a chat on linked devices.

WhatsApp message reacts

Relatedly, WhatsApp is also rolling out the Message reaction feature for some Android users on the beta channel of the app. The feature will work the same way as it does on most other platforms. Users will be able to long-press on a message to bring up the additional floating menu above the in question after which, they can choose from the various emoji-based reactions provided to react to the message. Currently, there are six reactions to choose from in the beta build which include thumbs up, love, laughter, surprise, tears, and gratitude. (via WABetainfo)

Apple Card may soon launch internationally, as Apple acquires UK banking startup

Apple has just acquired another new firm. This time, the iPhone maker has bought Credit Kudos, which is a UK based open banking startup. In other words, we might soon be looking at the international launch of the company’s Apple Card.

Apple

For those unaware, Credit Kudos aims on helping lenders make more informed decisions by offering insights and scores based on loan applications that are drawn from transactions and loan outcome banking data. Back in April 202, the startup began raising funds of around 6.5 billion US Dollars in investment. As of right now, the company is reportedly now valued at around 150 million US Dollars.

According to three people close to the matter (Via The Block), the acquisition deal with Apple was concluded earlier this week. At the moment, Credit Kudos’s Website Terms of Use link now redirects to Apple’s Terms of Use. It is currently unclear what the Cupertino based giant has planned for Credit Kudos, although, it is likely that it might use its technology to launch the Apple Card in the UK. The region is among the brand’s most important markets and with the Card being its main credit product. It has a huge potential in the market.

Apple

Apple only offers this product exclusively in the United States. But with the acquisition of Credit Kudos, the company will even gain access to the open banking sector of the UK. Additionally, the brand might also be able to modify Credit Kudos’ technology to work with the US’ growing open banking sector. This could even further bolster the Card’s credit checker. But this might just be an exclusive UK only plan as well.

Samsung may launch another foldable device this year in addition to the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4

Samsung is working on releasing three new foldable devices this year, one up from the usual two. There’s the Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Galaxy Z Fold4 — which were quite expected — but joining them this time will be a mystery third device.

Galaxy Club has spotted three codenames corresponding to foldable devices, namely B4, Q4, and N4. The B4 is the Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Q4 is the Galaxy Z Fold4, which is quite easy to ascertain from codenames B3 and Q3 that represented the previous iterations of the two devices.

However, there’s also the N4 whose numbering implies that it’s yet another fourth-generation foldable, only Samsung hasn’t really ever released any foldable that wasn’t either a Fold or a Flip.

A patent that went public recently showed a radical foldable phone design with a display whose top-left part could wrap around all the way to the rear. When unfolded, this display transformed into an unconventional P-shaped form, opening up the possibility of use cases like videos in landscape mode on the upper part of the display and another app at the bottom.

However, without an official confirmation, it’s impossible to know for sure. Galaxy Club does say though that the development for the device is taking place on a scale that’s not so large as the B3 and Q3, indicating that it will not be launched as widely as the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4.
