OPPO has been working on a foldable smartphone for quite some time now but the company has not yet officially launched the device. There have been several rumors about the phone getting launched this year and now a new report coming from China hints that the device could go official next month.
A tipster has claimed on Weibo that the foldable smartphone from OPPO which is codenamed “Peacock” will be launched next month. It further claims that the company has another high-end device codenamed “Butterfly” which is scheduled to launch next year.
The report adds that the foldable device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset while the “Butterfly” smartphone launching early next year, which could be a Find X4 series device, will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset.
Apart from the foldable smartphone, the Chinese company is also gearing up to launch next-generation OPPO Reno7 series smartphones. While the exact launch date is not yet confirmed, the OPPO foldable phone could go official in the middle of December 2021.
Recently, it was reported that the OPPO foldable smartphone will feature a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display. It is also said to come running the Android 12 operating system with the company’s own ColorOS 12 custom interface.
In the camera department, the device could feature a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel primary camera on the back. As of now, there’s no confirmation about the number of cameras that will be available on its back panel. For taking selfies and video calling, it may have a 32-megapixel snapper on the front side.
The phone is expected to feature an inward folding design like the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Huawei Mate X2. It is said to be equipped with an 8-inch LTPO OLED panel that offers a 120W refresh rate. Earlier, it was reported to come powered by a 4,500mAh battery and have support for 65W fast charging technology.
Last week, OnePlus announced a new limited edition smartphone dubbed as OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition. Interestingly, the brand only revealed the price and did not shed details on design and availability. A few days after the announcement, now we finally know how the customized version of the OnePlus Nord 2 will differ from the regular model.
A few hours back, well-known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore not only shared a hands-on image of the OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition but also its retail box. He says that he has acquired these pictures from The Phone Talks. However, we could not find these images on the source’s social media handles.
According to the pictures, the device will come in a tall grey-colored box with PAC-MAN and OnePlus brandings. As far as the handset is concerned, it will sport a white-silver glossy finish with PAC-MAN and the dots that the titular character consumes.
As per the leaker, the game character glows in the dark in neon color. Lastly, there’s also a OnePlus x PAC-MAN branding to the left of the rear camera module.

Last month, at an event in China, Xiaomi-backed Redmi had announced its two new wearable devices in the market — Redmi Smart Band Pro and Redmi Watch 2 Lite. The Redmi Smart Band Pro, which is set to soon go on sale in the European market, is now expected to make its way to India.
A new report from 91Mobiles, citing tipster Mukul Sharma, claims that the Redmi Smart Band Pro will soon be launched in the Indian market but the company has not yet officially confirmed this. For those who are unaware, the Redmi Note Band Pro is a successor to the Redmi Smart Band which was launched last year. It features a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display with 194 x 368 pixels screen resolution and 264ppi pixel density. It also offers 100 percent NTSC color gamut coverage, 8-bit color depth, and up to 450 nits of peak brightness.
It comes with support for more than 50 watch faces. Redmi has added several features, including more than 110 workout modes that include popular activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and yoga. The company says that the product can detect when a workout has started and can also measure the effort made by its user.

Apart from a 24/7 heart-rate monitor, the fitness tracker also supports sleep quality tracking. It also supports checking blood oxygen levels, which can also be set to be carried out automatically.
The device supports Bluetooth v5 for connectivity and is powered by the Apollo 3.5 processor. It is compatible with all handsets running Android 6.0 or iOS 10.0 and later using the Xiaomi Wear/Xiaomi Wear Lite apps. It is rated for 5ATM for water resistance, and it can last up to 14 days of typical usage or 20 days in power-saving mode after being fully charged via the magnetic charger.
It’s been a few weeks since South Korean giant Samsung started beta testing for its latest One UI 4 custom user interface based on the Android 12 operating system for its premium smartphones, including the Galaxy S21 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Flip3, and most recently the Galaxy Note 20.
While the company has been testing the One UI 4 through Beta releases, it is yet to release the stable version for any of its devices. But now, it appears that the company could start rolling out the One UI 4 stable version later this month.
Telus, a Canada-based network carrier has updated its schedule for software rollout which shows that the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra will be getting the Android 12-based One UI 4 on 23rd November.
Given that the update is for the network carrier-linked devices, we expect the update for the unlocked models to release a bit early. Also, South Korea and the United States could be the first regions to get the new Android 12-based update while China is expected to receive the latest One UI update by the end of this year.
Samsung has already shown off its Material You implementation for One UI and has also demonstrated the ability to set health goals with others using Samsung Health Together, so groups can compete in completing training or exercise goals.
The updated software also comes with a new feature named Quick Share that allows seamless transfer between Galaxy devices, and much more. Similar to Apple’s Lost Mode, the new One UI 4 update also expands SmartThings Find to stuff such as the Galaxy Buds and S Pens. It is leveraging up to 1.5 billion instances of data exchange between Samsung devices in a network to help pinpoint a lost accessory’s location.

Design
If you pick the Racing Yellow color variant of the Realme GT 5G, you get the most original design you can currently find on the flagship killer segment in the European market. The Realme GT 5G Racing Yellow comes with a leather back and an aluminum frame providing an amazing touch & feel and a solid grip, as well as very beautiful aesthetics. The Xiaomi 11T has a classic glass back paired with an aluminum frame and it is less impressive than Realme GT 5G in terms of design, but it features the IP53 certification thanks to which it is splash resistant and dust resistant. Further, it has the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for both the glass back and the display. Besides being more impressive, the Realme GT 5G is also lighter than Xiaomi 11T.
Display
On the paper, Xiaomi 11T has a superior display. First of all, it is wider with a diagonal of 6.67 inches. Further, it is able to show up to one billion colors with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ certification. The color reproduction is definitely better than Realme GT 5G, but the latter comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, while Xiaomi 11T has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Both the phones have an AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.
Specs & Software
If you are looking for the most advanced hardware, then you should choose the Realme GT 5G. The Snapdragon 888 mobile platform is undoubtedly more powerful than the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 found on the Xiaomi 11T. Further, with the Realme GT 5G, you can get 12 GB of RAM, while the max amount of RAM provided by the Xiaomi 11T is 8 GB. The phones run Android 11 out of the box and will get at least two major updates to new Android versions. They support 5G and they also come with powerful stereo speakers.
Camera
The Xiaomi 11T is not a high-end camera phone, but it is still better than Realme GT 5G thanks to its superior 108 MP main camera. Further, it has a better macro camera with a 5 MP resolution, even though macro cameras are not very useful due to their low resolutions. With the Xiaomi 11T, you should get slightly better photos with a higher level of detail.
The battery became a very important aspect of flagship phones because they have a high energy consumption due to their powerful hardware and high refresh rates. The Xiaomi 11T provides a bigger 5000 mAh battery, while Realme GT 5G has a capacity of just 4500 mAh. The difference in terms of battery life is consistent, with the Xiaomi 11T providing a full day of battery life with a lot more usage patterns. Both the phones support very fast charging technologies with powers of 67W and 65W, respectively.
Price
The starting price of the Xiaomi 11T is €499/$571 for the 8/128 GB configuration, while the Realme GT 5G starts from €449/$515, but you can actually find it for €399/$457 thanks to online street prices. The Xiaomi 11T has a better display, as well as a superior camera and a bigger battery, while the Realme GT 5G offers a stronger hardware department and a more attractive design with a more affordable price. Which one should you go for? Both are amazing flagships and both carry amazing prices, so it is mostly a matter of tastes; whatever you choose, you will get an excellent user experience at great prices.

After the October launch of AppleAirPods 3, rumors have surfaced about the expected launch window for the new high-end AirPods, Apple AirPods Pro2, Q3 in 2022.
These leaks first came to the surface in May when Mike Gurman and Bloomberg‘s Debby Wu reported that Apple would release AirPods Pro 2 with significant updates. Mark Gurman and respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo also predicted that the model would come in 2022 without specifying the exact date.
Recently @FronTron has predicted that Apple will release its AirPods Pro 2 in Q3 2022, claiming that the information came from the supply chain. This leak is an amendment to his previous tweet from July, which claimed that the product would be launched in Q2 2022. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, as FronTron has a poor track record regarding Apple leaks and has had better luck with Samsung.
The new AirPods Pro 2 is speculated to give the same audio performance as the current generation but with improved noise cancellation, better battery life, a more rounded shape, and a reduced stem length. It is also predicted that the case will be lighter, and the Pods will have ambient light sensors as well as water resistance.
The AirPods Pro second-generation model is expected to be powered by the Apple H1 chipset, the same chipset that powers most of the AirPods series devices, including the current generation of AirPods Pro.
With fuel prices on a rise in India, the local Coimbatore-based Boom Motors has launched its first electric scooter in the form of Corbett 14.
Boom Motors, on Thursday, announced the launch of the new Corbett EV, which is claimed to be ‘India’s most durable’ scooter. Boom motors are offering the e-scooter in two variants, namely, the Corbett 14 and Corbett 14-EX. The base model is currently offered at Rs 86,999 ($1170), while the EX trim is going for Rs 1,19,999 ($1600 approx). Both prices are Ex-showroom.

The EV maker claims that its portable charger can be plugged into any household socket. The charging time for both variants is between 2.5 and 4 hours (depending on whether you’re using the fast charger or the regular one). Boom also offers portable chargers for increased convenience, which you can plug into any household socket.
The EV can reach a maximum speed of 75 kmph and 65 kmph on the EX and base variant, respectively, while lugging around a maximum load of 200 kgs. The under-seat storage is limited to 30 liters.
Boom Corbett fashions a minimalist old-school moped design with barely any side body panels. It has a circular LED headlamp located below the handle, making for an even appealing design.
The e-scooter features anti-dive 4-point adjustable springs at the front and 4-point adjustable dual springs at the rear with single disk breaks at both ends, making it ideal for Indian roads.
Some additional features built into the EV include a tracking app that provides a ton of information, including petrol savings tracking, CO2 offset tracking, a parental mode for extra safety, and accident/theft detection.
Pricing and Availability
As mentioned above, the base model is currently offered at Rs 86,999 ($1170), while the EX trim is going for Rs 1,19,999 ($1600 approx). However, the company states that these prices are introductory and are set to go up by Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 for the base model and the EX variant, respectively. Boom Corbett also claims to be the first e-scooter to come with a 5-year EMI on vehicle purchase which, according to the company, reduces the EMI rates to as low as Rs 1,699.
Bookings for the electric scooter have already commenced online at a token amount of Rs 499 with deliveries expected to start from January 2022.
Over the years, Realme has solidified its position as one of the major players in the Budget and mid-range smartphone segment. Earlier this year, Realme successfully entered the flagship killer segment with the release of its GT series.
But its ambitions don’t stop there, as the founder and CEO of Realme, Sky Li, revealed their plan to duke it out with the top dogs in the ultra-premium segment via a tweet.
It's official: realme to advance into high-end market with smartphones over USD800. What do you expect most from realme full flagship phone?
In other words, Realme will be going up against industry giants like Samsung, Apple, and Google in the $800+ smartphone segment. Currently, Realme doesn’t have any device in this segment, and their top offering is the smartphone killer GT Neo 2.
Other than this announcement, no further details were provided as to when the customers can see the ultra-premium smartphone from Realme or what features to expect from it.
Which leaves us to speculate about its highlights and features. Realme has greatly improved its camera performance with the launch of its GT series, so more performance can be expected on the upcoming ultra-premium phone with the inclusion of bigger sensors and better software optimization.
The phone will likely be equipped with a QHD+ resolution display with high refresh rate support, the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC and lightning-fast memory. It might also accommodate features like 125W fast charging and a 5000mAh battery. With other major brands extending their software support in recent times, Realme’s ultra-premium phone might also get software support of up to 4 years.
With the year coming to an end, we are sure to hear more about this upcoming phone in early 2022.
Xiaomi has launched the MIJIA DC Variable Frequency Two-season Fan in China. The floor fan features a unique cone-shaped design and is suitable for use in winter and summer. The product carries a decent price tag of 899 yuan (`$140) and is presently up for backing at Xiaomi Mall.
The Mijia DC variable frequency two-season fan adopts a patented PTC rotating structure that blows warm air when closed and cool breeze when opened. This explains why it is suitable for use both in the Summer and Winter seasons. The fan offers a 150° wide-angle air supply, 3-second rapid heating, and intelligent constant temperature.
Under the hood, it packs a 2200W semiconductor ceramic heating element which provides hot air immediately after it is turned on. From the MIJIA app, the heat level can be adjusted. The fan can deliver warm air up to a distance of 2 meters and within a 20° radius.
Also, the air supply angles can be adjusted between 30° to 150°, covering a larger area. The built-in intelligent temperature control system keeps the indoor temperature within the set range of 18-28°C, continuously maintains a comfortable temperature.
The DC fan has three cooling modes: direct air, natural air, and sleep air. The maximum air volume can reach 357m³/h, and the cooling air supply distance can reach 10 meters.
Furthermore, it is equipped with a high-quality copper wire DC frequency conversion brushless motor that helps to maintain a constant speed, provides a more stable air supply, and produces low noise as low as 38.4dB. Thus, it sure won’t disturb your sleep at night.
In terms of design, the Mijia DC variable frequency two-season fan has a cylindrical design with a chassis diameter of only 30cm, which does not take up space. The whole machine is about 6.9kg, which can be moved around the house holding the body. There is a sliding touch bar on the top from where the wind speed can be controlled and the user can set when the fan will go off. Apart from MIJIA app control, it can also be controlled via XiaoAI voice prompts and can be paired with other MIJIA smart home products.
There is no word on the global release at this time but Xiaomi has been pretty slow in pushing out MIJIA-branded products on the international scene so don’t expect this product outside China anytime soon.
The United States Patent & Trademark Office has published two new patent applications filed by Apple. What is interesting in the latest patent filings by the Cupertino-based tech giant is that they indicate the development of a possible drone device in no distant future. These two new filings in the US Patent Office add to three previous patents relating to a possible Apple drone device.
The new applications both relate to drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The first application seems to cover the application and method of interaction between the UAV and a controller. The first patent will thus take care of pairing or connecting and disconnecting the UAV from the controller. It will cover apparatuses, systems, and methods for pairing the drone to a remote wireless controller.
The second patent application is related to the tracking and control of unmanned aerial vehicles. It has a patent application number 20210349458. The second patent concerns how the UAV may be controlled and monitored via a cellular network system. Discreet checks also indicate that the same track/control patent had been filed by Apple in Singapore, with the number 10202002204W. It is unclear whether there are any modifications between the Singapore filing and the one filed in the US.
There are no further hints or leaks that have shown evidence of the level of development of the Apple UAV. It is however correct to hazard a guess that the product if indeed it is already in development, will become visible over time. There is no guarantee however that this Apple drone project will ultimately come out as a finished product for commercial applications.
