Honor 60 series likely to launch in December

Back in June, Honor announced the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 SE smartphones in China. Recent reports have claimed that the Chinese manufacturer is working on the Honor 60 lineup. Chinese tipster WHY LAB has claimed that the company will announce the Honor 60 series in December.

The below-shown image shared by the tipster gives a look at the rear design of the Honor 60 series. It appears that it will continue dual-camera rings like the Honor 50 trio. It is speculated that the series will include the Honor 60, Honor 60 Pro, and Honor 60 SE.

The tipster claimed that the vanilla and the Pro model will carry support for 66W fast charging. On the other hand, the SE model will support only 40W charging.

Honor 60 series

There are a couple of Honor phones that have been spotted at China’s 3C certification platform with support for 66W fast charging. These include GIA-AN00, ELZ-AN00, TNA-AN00, ANY-AN00, and LSA-AN00. It is likely two of these devices could be the Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro handsets.

There is no information on the other specifications of the Honor 60 trio. To recollect, the Honor 50 and 50 Pro were fueled by the Snapdragon 778G chipset, whereas the 50 SE was driven by the Dimensity 900 chipset. Hopefully, the Honor 60 will come equipped with an improved chipset and cameras.

Honor is yet to confirm the arrival of the Honor 60 series. With the lineup expected to debut in December, the company release some teasers by the end of this month in China.

ZTE S40 series smartphone’s 3C certification reveals 65W fast charging support

A new ZTE smartphone with model number 9040N has passed through the 3C certification process, revealing the phone’s charging capabilities. A tipster on Weibo has claimed that the device could be the ZTE S40 series model, a successor of the S30 lineup.

The 3C certification process reveals that the device will come with support for 65W fast charging technology. However, apart from this charging speed, nothing much is known about this upcoming smartphone.

ZTE S40 3C Certification

ZTE 9040N (S40) 3C Certification

Given that the smartphone has now passed through the certification process, we expect the device to soon get launched in the Chinese market. If the phone is indeed a part of the S40 lineup, then we expect it to be the Pro model given the charging speed.

The ZTE S30 series smartphones were launched in March this year, which could mean that its successor could also be launched around the same time, within a few months. This time also we expect three different models — ZTE S40, S40 Pro, and S40 SE.

The top-end model in the lineup — ZTE S30 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 800nits peak brightness. The device comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 786G chipset and packs a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast charging.

On the other hand, the S30 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC and 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Everything else remained the same as the Pro model. The S30 starts at 2,198 yuan (~$344) while the Pro model starts at 2,998 yuan (~$470). We are expecting similar or slightly higher pricing for its successors.

Xiaomi, Leica may team up for Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s cameras

Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 898 flagship chip by the end of this month. Reports suggest that Xiaomi’s next flagship i.e., the Xiaomi 12 powered by the SD898 may go official in December. The lineup may also include other models such as Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Fresh information suggests that the Ultra could be equipped with Leica engineered cameras.

Since 2019, Huawei has been launching its flagship phones with Leica engineered cameras. The cooperation between Huawei and Leica ended this year with the launch of the Huawei P50 series. In May, tipster Teme claimed that Leica is looking for a new manufacturer for its brand. He also claimed that the brand may partner with Honor, Xiaomi, or Sharp.

A fresh leak by Digital Chat Station suggests that Leica and Xiaomi may have struck a deal for the upcoming Xiaomi 12 lineup. The Chinese tipster recently shared an image of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which showed the Leica branding on its secondary display. This indicates that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra may feature Leica optimized cameras.

At present, only a few details are available on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is expected to debut in early 2022. The same tipster had previously claimed that the phone will be sporting three 50-megapixel cameras. One of them could be a 1/1.5-inch periscope zoom lens with 5x optical zoom support.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also expected to feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of design, it may not too be different from the Xiaomi 11 Ultra.

Google fixes ghost-dialing issue on the Pixel 6 series with a new update

Google’s newly launched Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones are the most impressive devices coming from the technology giant but similar to the previous models, these ones too have plenty of issues. Among them is the issue of the device randomly auto-dialing contacts in the middle of the night.

Later, the hot word detection feature of Google Assistant was found to be the culprit, and turning the feature off fixed the problem. The search engine giant quickly acknowledged the issue and has now resolved this with the latest version of the Google app which is now available in the Play Store.

Google Pixel 6

According to a Pixel community manager on the /r/GooglePixel subreddit, updating to the latest Google app (12.43.18 or higher) should now fix the problem. They say that the update is rolling out on the Google Play Store. If you have disabled the “Hey Google” hotword detection feature, then it is now safe to re-enable it.

So, if you are using the Google Pixel 6 or the Pixel 6 Pro smartphone, then you should quickly update the Google app to the latest version as soon as possible to fix the ghost dialing issue on the device.

For those who are unfamiliar, some users of the newly launched Pixel series smartphones reported that even in quiet rooms, their phone would light up and say that it’s calling a  random contact from the phone’s contact list. This was happening at different times with different contacts, and some have even reported it happening on older Pixel devices.

Redmi GM teases the arrival of MIUI 13

It has been over one and a half years since the announcement of MIUI 12. However, Xiaomi is yet to introduce MIUI 13. Instead, the company released MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition recently. Since MIUI 13 has been confirmed to go official before the end of 2021, the firm’s executives have started teasing its arrival.

Xiaomi MIUI Logo Featured

A few days back, Xiaomi revealed its MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update plan for the third batch of devices. Sharing that post, Lu Weibing, Redmi GM, hinted that MIUI 13 is ‘not far behind’.

This somewhat suggests that the next iteration of MIUI could go official in December at the rumored Xiaomi 12 series launch event. In case you do not remember, Xiaomi introduced MIUI 12.5 at the Mi 11 launch conference at the end of December last year. Hence, we can expect a similar thing this time as well.

MIUI 13 is said to bring improvements over the previous generations of Xiaomi’s mobile operating system. We can assume that MIUI Pioneer Group will play an important role in fixing the issues faced by users.

As far as features are concerned, MIUI 13 may officially bring iOS-like widgets, Smart toolbox, Front camera assistant, MIUI Pure Mode, Memory extension, new MIUI+ features, and more. Last but not least, there could also be a customized version for Redmi devices.

Design

If you pick the Racing Yellow color variant of the Realme GT 5G, you get the most original design you can currently find on the flagship killer segment in the European market. The Realme GT 5G Racing Yellow comes with a leather back and an aluminum frame providing an amazing touch & feel and a solid grip, as well as very beautiful aesthetics. The Xiaomi 11T has a classic glass back paired with an aluminum frame and it is less impressive than Realme GT 5G in terms of design, but it features the IP53 certification thanks to which it is splash resistant and dust resistant. Further, it has the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for both the glass back and the display. Besides being more impressive, the Realme GT 5G is also lighter than Xiaomi 11T.

Display

On the paper, Xiaomi 11T has a superior display. First of all, it is wider with a diagonal of 6.67 inches. Further, it is able to show up to one billion colors with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ certification. The color reproduction is definitely better than Realme GT 5G, but the latter comes with an in-display fingerprint reader, while Xiaomi 11T has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Both the phones have an AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.

Specs & Software

If you are looking for the most advanced hardware, then you should choose the Realme GT 5G. The Snapdragon 888 mobile platform is undoubtedly more powerful than the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 found on the Xiaomi 11T. Further, with the Realme GT 5G, you can get 12 GB of RAM, while the max amount of RAM provided by the Xiaomi 11T is 8 GB. The phones run Android 11 out of the box and will get at least two major updates to new Android versions. They support 5G and they also come with powerful stereo speakers.

Camera

The Xiaomi 11T is not a high-end camera phone, but it is still better than Realme GT 5G thanks to its superior 108 MP main camera. Further, it has a better macro camera with a 5 MP resolution, even though macro cameras are not very useful due to their low resolutions. With the Xiaomi 11T, you should get slightly better photos with a higher level of detail.

Battery

The battery became a very important aspect of flagship phones because they have a high energy consumption due to their powerful hardware and high refresh rates. The Xiaomi 11T provides a bigger 5000 mAh battery, while Realme GT 5G has a capacity of just 4500 mAh. The difference in terms of battery life is consistent, with the Xiaomi 11T providing a full day of battery life with a lot more usage patterns. Both the phones support very fast charging technologies with powers of 67W and 65W, respectively.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 rumored to hit the market in Q3 2022

After the October launch of Apple AirPods 3, rumors have surfaced about the expected launch window for the new high-end AirPods, Apple AirPods Pro2, Q3 in 2022.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 Leak

These leaks first came to the surface in May when Mike Gurman and Bloomberg‘s Debby Wu reported that Apple would release AirPods Pro 2 with significant updates. Mark Gurman and respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo also predicted that the model would come in 2022 without specifying the exact date.

Recently @FronTron has predicted that Apple will release its AirPods Pro 2 in Q3 2022, claiming that the information came from the supply chain. This leak is an amendment to his previous tweet from July, which claimed that the product would be launched in Q2 2022. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, as FronTron has a poor track record regarding Apple leaks and has had better luck with Samsung.

The new AirPods Pro 2 is speculated to give the same audio performance as the current generation but with improved noise cancellation, better battery life, a more rounded shape, and a reduced stem length. It is also predicted that the case will be lighter, and the Pods will have ambient light sensors as well as water resistance.

The AirPods Pro second-generation model is expected to be powered by the Apple H1 chipset, the same chipset that powers most of the AirPods series devices, including the current generation of AirPods Pro.
