Xiaomi has launched a new desk lamp dubbed MIJIA Smart Rechargeable Desk Lamp in China. The smart lamp comes with several features that allow for eye comfort and seamless usage. It is priced at 129 yuan (~$20) which is pretty affordable. The MIJIA Smart Rechargeable Desk Lamp is equipped with a built-in 2000mAh high-capacity lithium battery that can last for 120 hours with 100% brightness touted to last for more than 4 hours. Also, 10% brightness can last for more than 40 hours while 1% brightness turns into a night light, and it can stay on for up to 120 hours.

The product retains the same settings of three-speed color temperature and brightness levels used on the previous generation desk lamp. However, on this model, you can customize the color temperature and brightness via the MIJIA app according to your personal preference. There is also a preset scene mode.

The device is equipped with 12 built-in 0.25W LED modules with a total rated power of only 5W. The color temperature can be adjusted between 2700K-6000K, suitable for a variety of home scenes.

As a smart desk lamp, when the doorbell rings, the desk lamp flashes to notify the homeowner. When the bedside lamp is turned off at bedtime, it will automatically turn off the lights in other rooms. At night, when the smart body sensor detects movements, it will also help you automatically light up the night mode.

MIJIA Electric Kettle 2

Xiaomi also launched the MIJIA Electric Kettle 2 with an upgraded capacity but the price is still 99 yuan (~$15).

In terms of appearance, the new product adopts an open 7-shaped handle design, which shortens the distance from lowering the kettle to pressing the switch, making the operation more convenient. The handle adopts a rounded line design, which makes the hand feel more comfortable, and it saves effort to pour water.

Compared with the previous MIJIA Electric Kettle, the capacity of MIJIA Electric Kettle 2 is upgraded from 1.5L to 1.7L, which can boil 8 cups of water at a time. This can easily meet the drinking needs of the whole family without frequent boiling.

The new product adopts a double-layer structure inside and outside to form a middle insulation layer to prevent accidental burns. The inner tank is made of food contact-grade 304 stainless steel. It has an integrated structure, is corrosion-resistant, oxidation-resistant, and is more convenient to clean.

The MIJIA Electric Kettle 2 is equipped with a 1800W high-power energy-gathering heating chassis, which can shorten the boiling time of 1500W electric kettles by 2 minutes. The thick aluminum plate heating chassis is used to make the heat load more uniform and make the water fully boil.

Amazon yesterday held an event where it revealed a deluge of smart home products. One of the smart home devices designed to take on the Nest is the Amazon Smart Thermostat. Just like the Nest, the smart thermostat will automatically adjust your indoor environment when it detects that you’re home and based on other learned preferences.

Amazon has built up Alexa’s ability to act on “Hunches” over the last few years, and it appears the thermostat relies on a deep connection with the AI assistant’s smarts to understand what it should do and when.

Integrating smart features like Alexa routines and presence detection at its price means that it’s not only poised to undercut more expensive products like the $130 Nest or Ecobee’s $250 option. It’s even cheaper than value-priced smart thermostats like this Wyze thermostat that is generally available for about $80. And it may be even cheaper in some cases, as Amazon claims that “After applying utility-provider rebates, eligible customers can get Amazon Smart Thermostat for $10, and sometimes, for nothing at all.”

The company says it developed the new device in partnership with the makers of Honeywell Home smart thermostats and confirmed it’s ready to work with most existing 24V HVAC systems.

The Amazon Smart Thermostat is priced at $59.99 and is already open for preorders in the US.

Amazon Glow video-chat device

Amazon also launched a video-chat device specifically designed for kids. The product dubbed Amazon Glow video-chat device beams computer images onto a table, where kids can interact with them.

The gadget features an 8-inch LCD display which allows the kids to clearly see their loved ones. The device can be paired with a smartphone or tablet which can then be used to remotely determine what the child views in terms of books, drawings, play puzzles, and more.

Some of the resources available to users of the Glow products launched in partnership with Disney, Mattel, Sesame Street, and Nickelodeon for interactive books, puzzles, and all sorts of other items.

The device also comes with a privacy shutter to protect the kids. Also, kids can only call people that have been approved previously by their parents.

A few things are known about Samsung‘s next Galaxy S series model – the Galaxy S22, slated for release next year. Some renders of the device have shown that it will be smaller than its predecessor, the Galaxy S21. A new image of the Galaxy S21 battery has now emerged, revealing the S22 will also have a smaller 3700mAh battery capacity than its predecessor.

The image is thought to be an actual battery of the S22 with a rating EB-BS901ABY (14.35 Wh), It was spotted during the certification process in Korea. The lower battery capacity marks a 300 mAh decline from the Galaxy S20 and S21, which both have 4,000 mAh batteries. However, the new battery could offer a longer life than its forerunners with greater optimization and technologies available.

A previous study showed that the endurance rating went up from 71 hours for the Galaxy S20 (in 120 Hz 1080p mode) to 93 hours for the Galaxy S21, even with the same battery capacity for both models. So a similar improvement could mean that the S22 battery life could possibly be better than that of the S21.

The decline also affected the battery of the Galaxy S22+ but the S22 Ultra remains unchanged from its predecessor. The Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra will have 4,500 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries, respectively. The Galaxy S22 Ultra maintained its capacity, despite having to fit an S Pen inside.

It is expected that the new models will also provide improved fast charging functionality as well.

Sony offers a wide range of audio products and its popular ones are actually pricey such as the Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds or the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones which cost $279 and $349 respectively. For those who still want Sony-branded earbuds that don’t cost a lot, then the new Sony WF-C500 is right up your alley.

The earbuds are priced at $100 and have a closed-fit design with silicone tips. Sony says they are 45% smaller than the WF-XB700 and their new ergonomic surface design allows for a more stable fit. Each earbud has a button for controlling playback or calling up your smartphone’s assistant.

Another feature of the WF-C500 is its Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) that restores high-frequency sounds lost during compression. It also has 360 reality Audio which provides an immersive experience. Users can also customize the audio experience using the Sony Headphones Connect app. There is also support for single earbud use.

The earphones are rated IPX4 and come in a carrying case with a translucent lid. The spec sheet says the battery life is up to 10 hours and it goes up to 20 hours with the case. There is also support for quick charge – a 10-minute charge will provide 60 minutes of playback time.

The Sony WF-C500 can be purchased in black, blue, green, and orange. However, some of these colors are only available at select partner stores. You can pre-order the earbuds today ahead of the October 8 release date.

For those who prefer headphones, the Sony WH-XB910N brings extra bass and noise-canceling for $249.99. It has a 30-hour battery life with ANC on and also supports quick charge – a 10-minute charge provides up to 4.5 hours of playback.

The feedforward and feedback microphones on each cup provide noise cancelation and users will be able to deactivate noise-canceling and turn down the volume for a quick conversation by placing a hand over the right ear cup. Sony has also added adaptive Each earcup supports touch controls for music playback and call controls.

The Sony WH-XB910N also has support for the Sony Headphones Connect app and comes with the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) present in the WF-C500. It also comes with Google Assistant and Alexa built-in, and users will be able to activate the one they want with a simple touch. Sony also says that users can connect it to two devices at the same time.

The headphones can be purchased in blue or black and will be available on Amazon on October 8 but you can go ahead and pre-order now.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 11T and the Xiaomi 11T Pro in Europe as its new affordable flagships for the global market. Now, the phones will be heading to China where they will be sold as the Redmi K40S series.

This isn’t much of a surprise considering last year’s Mi 10T was announced in China as the Redmi K30S, so there were already speculations the new Xiaomi 11T series will also be sold in China under the Redmi K series.

The Redmi K40S is said to have been sent to TENAA for certification but it won’t be the only one launching. The Chinese publication, ITHome, reports that there will be three models all with varying charging speeds. The base model will have support for 33W fast charging, the standard model will charge at 67W, and the high-end model will support 120W fast charging.

Since the Xiaomi 11T series only has two models, that means the third model with support for 33W fast charging is a different device entirely. Maybe this third model will eventually launch later as the Xiaomi 11T Lite 5G for the global market.

It has also been reported that one of the phones will have a Snapdragon 870 processor whereas the Xiaomi 11T has a Dimensity 1200 processor while the Xiaomi 11T Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 888. Based on these details, Xiaomi appears to be making some changes to the series for the Chinese market which is not unusual. While it has a tradition of launching its phones under different names in different markets, there are usually some small changes between them.

The source adds that the Redmi K40S is reported to be released in time for the Double Eleven festival in November. So we should expect a late October or first week in November launch.

The Xiaomi Beard Trimmer 2 features ultra-precise self-sharpening blades and is offered with 40 length settings. The trimmer uses rounded stainless steel blades guaranteeing a skin-friendly experience. The gadget comes with an IPX7 waterproof rating meaning it can withstand submersion in water for up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This also means it can be used inside the shower without fear of damaging it.

It also packs a durable battery that can last up to 90 minutes on a single full charge. One unique feature in this model is the LED battery display and travel lock display on the body. There is no display on the previous models.

The non-scratching teeth offer more comfortable usage while the blades output up to 6000 oscillations per min delivering accurate cuts and even shape. The product comes in a compact ergonomic design with a matte black finish. The design allows for a sturdy grip allowing you to reach tough spots effortlessly.

It has been more than a year since Realme announced its first smartwatch. Many more have been released afterward, some under its own brand and others under the DIZO brand. However, none of its smartwatches have made it to China. That may change soon as a leak has revealed Realme is working on its first smartwatch for the Chinese market.

The first Realme smartwatch for China will have a round dial according to Digital Chat Station who revealed details of the upcoming watch on Weibo. It will also have a 5ATM waterproof rating, sports tracking, and support for calls and music playback over Bluetooth.

The aforementioned specifications are what you will find on the average smartwatch today, so the Realme watch for China will need to offer more than that and or a competitive price tag to go against the competition.

There is no news of when the smartwatch will launch or what it will be called. However, there is a chance it may be a rebadge of an existing model sold in another region. Several Chinese manufacturers are known to sell their products under different names depending on the market. Sometimes, a device can even go by more than one name in the same market. An example is the Realme Watch 2 Pro which is also sold as the DIZO Watch Pro in India.

The new Withings smartwatch combines the traditional mechanical outlook with a digital display. Vivo launched its first smartwatch last year. The Vivo Watch, as it is officially called, is now set to get a successor and a new leak has revealed it will have a feature not available on the original.

While some folks are fine with their smartwatch being limited to telling the time and tracking health features, there are users who want more, up to the extent of being able to leave their phones at home when going for a run while not missing calls and messages. According to the Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Vivo smartwatch, expected to launch as the Vivo Watch 2, will have an eSIM. This will allow users to be able to make and receive calls as well as send and receive messages on the smartwatch without being tethered to a phone.

In addition to having an eSIM, the source also mentioned that the watch will have support for more apps, probably in a fashion similar to the recently announced Xiaomi Watch Color 2. He also mentioned that the Vivo smartwatch will have a round dial. However, we do not know if it will be available in multiple sizes like last year’s model.

The Vivo Watch comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes with a 1.19-inch and 1.39-inch AMOLED display respectively. The smartwatch can track up to 11 sports modes, supports heart rate and blood oxygen level measurement, and has a built-in assistant, NFC, GPS, built-in storage, and a waterproof rating. The 42mm version has a 9-day battery life while the 46mm version pushed the battery life up to 18 days.
