The company says that the fabric used is comfortable when touched and isn’t prone to creases. Further, it is said to be durable and is easy to take care of. It also has a customized resin zipper and thanks to tough and water-resistant material, the backpack is made to last longer.

Lenovo also says that the fabric has undergone special treatments such as anti-fading, but due to sweat, chemicals, and oil in daily chemicals, the long-term friction with the surface of the bag may cause fading.

It has an eight-pocket design and has a dedicated compartment for laptops with up to 16-inch display and tablets having a screen size of up to 13-inch. Internally, there are multiple compartments for storage, while on the outside, there are storage bags on the front and both sides that can be quickly accessed.

Xiaomi surpasses Apple in Q2 2021 to emerge as the world’s No. 1 wearable brand

Data released by Canalys shows that the global wearable market recorded a 5.6% year-on-year growth in Q2 2021 with an estimated 40.9 million wearables shipped during the period. Xiaomi wearable shipment Q1 2021

The report also shows that Chinese tech giant Xiaomi leapfrogged Apple to emerge as the top-selling wearable brand in Q2 2021. Xiaomi’s feat was made possible by the exploit of the Mi Smart Band 6 which performed well despite not launching in India during the period. Xiaomi just launched the Mi Band 6 in India and we expect it to continue to drive sales for the Chinese manufacturer.

Surprisingly, embattled Chinese tech giant Huawei held on to the third spot of which we know the sale is being driven by the Chinese market, one of the world’s largest. Huawei is closely followed by Fitbit with Samsung completing the top 5 spots.Smartwatch market share

Xiaomi’s feat comes at a time the smart band market has been declining, a trend which started in Q4 2020 and extended to the first quarter of this year. Smartwatches are, however, replacing the basic bands and Apple is in the lead in that segment. The Cupertino-based company controls about 31.1% share of the market in Q2 2021.

Huawei occupies the second spot with an estimated 9% share of the market. Others include Garmin with a 7.6% market share, Samsung with a 7% share, and Xiaomi with an estimated market share of 5.7%.

The report noted that smartwatches now account for 62% of global wearable band shipments. We expect this trend to continue as manufacturers are increasingly developing models crammed with loads of vital features. Apple is also expected to hold on to its lead of the market in Q3 and Q4 as it slashes the prices of its current models preparatory to the Watch Series 7 launch. The Watch Series 7 is also expected to drive sales in the fourth quarter when it is released.

Vivo

Unfortunately, the pricing details of the smartphones are unavailable at the moment. The X70 Pro+ will be the premium offering from the company and is expected to be priced similarly to the top tier phones from again Samsung, Apple, Huawei.

Regarding its availability, the series may not make it to the global market very soon. But, we expect some of the phones from the series to go global sometime later this year. We can expect the phones to arrive in the UK and India.

Design

Asus ROG Phone 5s has the same design as the original ROG Phone 5 with an RGB LED on the rear side, a glass back, and an aluminum frame. It offers the Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the rear glass and the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display. The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro adds a very interesting color option: the Ghost color variant with a transparent back. Combined with the RGB LEDs on the in-built cooling fan, the transparent design makes the device look gorgeous. The Asus ROG Phone 5s has pressure sensitive gaming triggers, while the Red Magic 6S Pro has both pressure sensitive zones with a 450 Hz touch sampling rate and a physical trigger on the back. The Asus ROG Phone 5s is compatible with several external gaming accessories, while Red Magic 6s Pro is not.

Display

The Asus ROG Phone 5s has the most advanced display in terms of image quality. It is an AMOLED panel with one billion colors, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification showing a high color accuracy, high brightness, and contrast. The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro has the highest refresh rate with 165 Hz, but the display quality is inferior. Both the handsets come with pretty thick bezels around the displays, as well as in-display fingerprint readers and great stereo speakers.

Specs & Software

Asus ROG Phone 5s and Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, but the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro wins the hardware comparison because it has a superior memory configuration in the most expensive variant. It offers up to 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage instead of the 16/256 GB offered by the Asus ROG Phone 5s. Further, the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro has an in-built cooling fan improving heat dissipation. The handsets run Android 11 out of the box, just like every last-generation 2021 phone released until now.

Camera

Are you looking for the best camera phone? You should definitely avoid choosing a gaming phone if you want a camera phone, but these devices are your favorite choices, go for the Asus ROG Phone 5s. It has a slightly better main camera supporting 8K video recording, as well as a better 13 MP ultrawide camera and a better 5 MP macro sensor. Last but not least, it has a superior 24 MP front camera while Red Magic 6s Pro has just 8 MP on the front.

Battery

The Asus ROG Phone 5s has a bigger battery and it lasts more on a single charge: its capacity is 6000 mAh, while the European version of the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro has “just” 5050 mAh. Anyways, both are good battery phones. On the other hand, Red Magic 6S Pro has a faster charging technology with a power of 120W, but unlike the ROG Phone 5s, it does not support reverse charging.

Price

The starting price of the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro is €599/$710, while the Asus ROG Phone 5s starts from €915/$1080. Despite Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro is not a superior phone, it has a way higher value for money, that is the reason why I would choose it.

OPPO Watch Free to launch this month, tablet may arrive alongside Reno7 series

OPPO may not have a flagship phone to launch in the second half of the year like its competitors but the Chinese manufacturer does have some interesting products coming before 2021 wraps up. A new leak has not only revealed that it has a new smartwatch planned for release this month, but has also provided details of other products.

The new smartwatch, which will launch as the OPPO Watch Free according to Digital Chat Station, will be OPPO’s second watch this year when it is announced by the end of September. The BBK-owned company announced a successor to its first smartwatch, the OPPO Watch, back in July. Seeing as the OPPO Watch 2 just went on sale last month, this new watch may be a less-powerful model with a more affordable price tag. Let’s hope this watch isn’t missing in action like the OPPO Watch RX that was announced last year but never released.

OPPO Watch Free

There are no details about the features of the watch but there is a possibility it may run RTOS instead of ColorOS Watch.

The Chinese leaker also disclosed that OPPO is already working on adapting its OS for its upcoming foldable device and tablet. However, the development is slow and the tablet won’t arrive anytime soon. Although, there is a possibility it will launch with the Reno7 series which should arrive before the year ends.

The Reno7 series will most likely launch in December, thus allowing for about six months between it and the Reno6 series that was announced in May. Details should begin to surface once we are in the fourth quarter.

The head of Realme India and Realme Europe took to Twitter to share a photo of the tablet and the tweet did reveal some pretty interesting details about the new device.

First, based on the caption of the tweet, we presume Realme will be launching the Realme Pad in Europe too seeing as the top executive said it’s convenient for him “to carry it everywhere in Europe”.

The more interesting part of the tweet is the UI which Madhav refers to as familiar. We agree with that decription considering it looks a lot like stock Android. The open app drawer shoiws several Google apps including Duo, Kids Space, Google Pay, Keep, Google One, Files, and Google Podcasts app. There is also the Messages app and a Phone Dialer app which means users will be able to send and receive SMS and make calls on the Realme Pad. Save for the Netflix and Prime Video app, every other application is a Google app.

So far, we know the Realme Pad will have a 10.4-inch screen with a 2400 x 1200 resolution, an Helio G80 processor, a single 8MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 7100mAh battery capacity.

iQOO Z5 Pro will be the first-ever ‘Pro’ model in the Z series

A new vivo group smartphone has been listed on TENAA. The same handset has been also spotted on the IMEI database. The two listings don’t say much about the device, except for its model number, branding, and cellular connectivity options.

The vivo group phone that has been found on TENAA and IMEI database has model number V2148A. As per the latter, the device will go official as iQOO Z5 Pro. Whereas, the former says that the smartphone will have support for 5G, in addition to 4G, 3G, and 2G.

Last month, the vanilla model of this handset called iQOO Z5 meant for India was also spotted on the IMEI database. This phone has model number I2018.

Unfortunately, apart from the above-mentioned information, we know nothing about these smartphones. But we can tell that these devices will replace the iQOO Z3.

The first iQOO Z series phone dubbed as iQOO Z1 was launched in May 2020. It was soon followed by a new model called iQOO Z1x a couple of months later.

Interestingly, the brand skipped iQOO Z2 and released iQOO Z3 in March 2021. Unlike the older models, this one also made its way to India a few months back in June.

Now, the company is all set to introduced iQOO Z5 and iQOO Z5 Pro by omitting the ‘4’ moniker as it is considered an omen in China. Also, this is the first time Z series will be getting a Pro variant.

DIZO Watch 2 specs & live images leak via a now deleted Flipkart listing

Realme’s DIZO sub-brand earlier today disclosed that it will be launching the Dizo Watch 2 in India on September 15. This news comes as a bit of a surprise, considering that the brand launched the Dizo Watch packing a 1.4-inch display and up to 12 days of battery life just last month!Dizo Watch 2

That being said, the Dizo Watch 2 was listed on Flipkart but it turned out to be a mistake as the page has been pulled down. The listing reveals all there is to know about the smartwatch including the design, key specs, and even the price. However, Twitter tipster @TechnoAnkit1 was able to preserve the details before they were pulled off the website.

The Watch 2 is expected to feature a bigger 1.69-inch color display with 600 nits peak brightness and a metal frame. The screen is bigger than the 1.4-inch panel on the Dizo Watch. The watch comes with 10 days of battery life and up to 20 days of standby. It also features health and fitness tracking features such as a sleep monitor, heart rate monitor, SpO2, and up to 15 sports modes.

The Dizo Watch 2 also comes with an ATM5 waterproof rating and packs over 100 watch faces. It will have support for Dizo app which is a dedicated app for Dizo smart products. We expect the company to throw more light on the app during the launch date.Dizo Watch 2

The Watch 2 will be available in Classic Black, Golden Pink, Ivory White and Silver Grey. It will retail for Rs. 3,999 (~$54). There is no word yet on the Watch 2 Pro but we don’t expect it to be very different from the vanilla Watch 2.

MediaTek achieves record 43% share for smartphone AP/SoC shipments

MediaTek has seen a sizeable growth in the smartphone chip market in recent months. Now, a new report has revealed that the company has managed to capture a record 43 percent market share for its AP (application processor)/ SoC (System on Chip) shipments for smartphones.

MediaTek

As per a Counterpoint Research report, the Taiwanese chipmaker’s SoC and AP shipments grew by a robust 31 percent year on year in the second quarter of this year. The growth arrives due to the explosive growth of shipments for 5G enabled smartphones over the same period last year. Thus, the company held a dominating 43 percent market share for SoCs in Q2 2021, with its LTE chips also seeing high shipments.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm was affected by the component supply issues and lower yields. However, it still managed to dominate the 5G baseband modem shipments with a 55 percent market share. Furthermore, the brand has also realigned its component sourcing strategy that should help boost its supply and overall earnings. Samsung, on the other hand, only managed to seize 10 percent of the 5G baseband shipment market share and also slipped into the fifth position with a 7 percent share for total SoC shipments falling behind Apple and UNISOC that held 14 and 9 percent market shares respectively.

MediaTek

Research Director Dale Gai stated that “MediaTek dominated the smartphone SoC market with its highest ever share of 43%, driven by a competitive 5G portfolio in the low mid segment and without major supply constraints. Relative to Qualcomm, MediaTek benefited from less supply constraints in the first half of 2021, including with RFICs (radio frequency integrated circuits), power management ICs (PMIC), and stable production yields from TSMC. 4G SoC shipments further helped MediaTek to strengthen its leading position.”

Users disagree over Xiaomi India’s MIUI tweet

MIUI, the Android fork owned by Xiaomi ships with Xiaomi’s own phones as well as those sold under the Redmi and POCO brands. It offers several features that are not available on the stock version of Android and also provides users with a wide variety of customization options.

Yesterday, the official Xiaomi India Twitter account posted a tweet that said “MIUI is better than other UI”. It listed some of its key features such as having better CPU management and support for full-screen gestures. Unfortunately for Xiaomi, the tweet didn’t receive the sort of response the company expected.

Several comments called the tweet a joke while others shared issues they have experienced or are currently experiencing with MIUI.

It appears that as much as Xiaomi tries to fix issues with its UI, there are still complaints as seen in some of the comments.

Xiaomi plans to announce a new version of MIUI which is expected to launch as MIUI 13 later this year. However, not all of its devices will receive the update as some will have reached their end of life. While MIUI 13 should bring new features as well as optimizations and fixes for certain issues currently plaguing the UI, there is also the possibility of it coming with its own bugs.

A new MagSafe charger gets certified by FCC ahead of iPhone 13 launch

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 13 series this month. The American tech giant could announce the date for the launch event as early as today. Ahead of that, a new official MagSafe charger has been certified by FCC.

Apple MagSafe Charger Featured A

According to a report by 9to5Mac, a new Apple MagSafe charger with model number A2548 has been certified by FCC. For those unaware, the current-gen MagSafe charger bears model number A2140.

The publication says that the iPhone maker is known for updating model numbers for its accessories due to small changes. Sometimes these changes are even hard to notice.

However, a report from July suggested that the iPhone 13 series might come with larger wireless charging coil and strong magnets with possible support for reverse wireless charging.

Hence, there’s a chance that the new MagSafe charger could be designed for the changes in the upcoming iPhones. But unfortunately, we cannot tell that for sure as of now.

Having said that, the FCC listing does confirm one thing. This new MagSafe charger will be compatible with both iPhone 12 series and the forthcoming iPhone 13 lineup. The two different iPhone generations consisting of four models are mentioned as ‘Legacy Phone’ and ‘New Phone’.

As mentioned earlier, Apple will likely debut the iPhone 13, iPhone Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max by the end of September. The new models are expected to cost more due to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage.
