Now, it is set to announce a number of Detective Conan-themed products on Wednesday, July 28.

OPPO Detective Conan Limited Edition

For those who do not know, Detective Conan is a popular Japanese detective manga series that has been running since 1994. The manga, which is also known as Case Closed in some countries, has been adapted into movies, games, and anime.

The Chinese manufacturer itself has released posters teasing the Reno6 Pro+ Detective Conan Edition but it won’t be the only OPPO product getting the limited edition treatment.

According to the Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, the Enco Free2 wireless earbuds and the yet-to-be-announced OPPO Watch 2 will also have Detective Conan limited editions. All three products should be announced on July 28.

The posters for the Reno6 Pro+ show a custom case with a lanyard that has a toy attached to the end. The case is red and it has a silver band that runs across the bottom.

Redmi K50 & K50 Pro renders & other key details surface online

Some new details may have emerged relating to the upcoming Redmi K50 and K50 Pro smartphones, as shown by renders from a China-based tipster. The new Redmi K50 and K50 Pro are billed for unveiling in early 2022 with rumors pointing to a launch before February 2022.Redmi K50

In addition, some current leaks by tipsters Bald Panda and Digital Chat Station indicate that the three scheduled models in the K50 series (the K50, K50 Pro, and K50 Pro+) will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset, with up to 67W charging potential guaranteed. The design will have E5 luminescent material with a 2K display and 120Hz refresh rate.

The new renders also indicate that the K50 lineup bears some close semblance with Huawei’s P50 concerning the camera housing setup. It seems that a centered punch hole camera may be in the offing for the front-facing camera, although this remains in the realm of speculation. Others have posited that an under-display camera may take the position of the centered punch hole, although this is highly improbable. The rear camera setup will also sport a bump, and this also finds close semblance with the Huawei P50.

Xiaomi had previously provided some teasers on the flagship Redmi K50 series, better screen quality on offer, and improved charging speeds. Xiaomi has enjoyed a great relationship with chipmaker Qualcomm and is usually among the first smartphone manufacturers to launch Qualcomm’s new products, as predicted for the new chipset from Qualcomm – the Snapdragon 865.

Several key specs of the Realme K50 series are still lacking at this time. However, we are still far away from the projected launch of the devices, as Xiaomi is currently gearing up for the launch of the K40 series.

Realme 8i and Realme 8s launch in the pipeline, suggests tipster

Realme has three models of the Realme 8 in the Indian market – the Realme 8, Realme 8 Pro, and Realme 8 5G. Now, the Chinese smartphone giant is touted to launch two more 8-series phones in the country dubbed Realme 8i and Realme 8s. Today, a popular tipster Mukul Sharma tipped the arrival of these phones.

The tipster stated, “8, 8i, 8s”, hinting at the upcoming Realme 8-series phones. While the Realme 8 is already available, the Realme 8i and 8s are the phones expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

Adding to this leak, a previous TENAA certification about a Realme phone with model number RMX2205 surfaced online. Since the device is still unknown, it is believed to be either the Realme 8i or Realme 8s smartphone.

Moreover, a publication claimed that the Realme 8i passed a Columbian certification but it has the model number RMX3151. The same device also visited other certifications including TKDN, IMEI, and EEC hinting that its launch is in the pipeline.

Realme 8i

Regarding the specs, the RMX2205 appeared on TENAA earlier. It seems to have a raging design with its ‘DARE TO LEAP’ branding at the back. The smartphone is expected to be a 5G handset with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. It is said to be a dual-SIM phone with a 4,400mAh battery.

On the other hand, the RMX3151 phone’s listings didn’t reveal anything other than its presence.

With multiple certifications incoming, the launch of both of these phones seems to be in the pipeline. We can expect the company to break the silence soon.

Onward Mobility announces “Pre-commitment Program” ahead of its first BlackBerry phone

Last year, it was announced that the American software company, Onward Mobility, is the latest licensee for the BlackBerry brand and it will launch the first 5G Blackberry smartphone this year. Ahead of the release of the phone, the company has launched a program to interact with fans of the BlackBerry brand as well as potential customers.

Onward Mobility BlackBerry - The Program

Called The Program, Onward Mobility describes it as “a pre-commitment program to expand its engagement with customers interested in purchasing the new and innovative BlackBerry 5G smartphones.”

Those who join The Program will receive information about the smartphones, features, and availability before the general public. The manufacturer also says that they will be able to provide input which will influence the features and functions of the phone. Lastly, they will be able to pre-order the device earlier than others as well as be among the first to receive the device when it launches.

This move by Onward Mobility is not the first of its kind in the mobile industry. A number of manufacturers such as OnePlus have programs that allow fans provide input about features they want in a phone. Some lucky members also get to experience and even use a device before it launches.

The first BlackBerry phone from the American company will retain the classic BlackBerry design which is a physical QWERTY keyboard. It will also have a flagship camera. Onward Mobility has said that the phone is being developed in partnership with FIH Mobile but it plans to have future phones assembled in the USA.

You can sign up to be a part of The Program here.

Alleged Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 tempered glass suggests an under-display camera

Xiaomi is expected to launch its first in-display camera smartphone very soon. The device is being reported to go official as Mi MIX 4. Earlier today, a popular leaker shared a picture containing an alleged tempered glass of this handset.

Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha Featured
Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha

The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has showcased its under-display camera technology multiple times. But the company is yet to release a commercial product with this tech. This is said to change soon with the launch of the so-called Mi MIX 4.

There have been multiple rumors about this phone, however, this is the first time we are getting to see its front design. Anyway, it is worth noting that the image posted by Digital Chat Station could include a fake screen protector of Mi MIX 4.

With that being said, as per the picture, the upcoming Mi MIX series smartphone will indeed feature an under-display camera. Like any other high-end smartphone from Chinese OEMs, the screen will be curved on both sides. Unfortunately, neither the image nor the leakster mentions anything else about the handset’s design.

Realme GT Master Explorer vs OnePlus Nord 2: Specs Comparison

Both the additional brands from the OPPO group launched a flagship killer this month. OnePlus came out with the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, while Realme launched the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition, a pretty unusual name for a device with an amazing specs sheet under every aspect. While OnePlus Nord 2 5G already launched in the global market, we are currently waiting for the global launch of the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. While waiting, we think it is worth discovering the difference between the two flagship killers in order to understand which one will offer the highest value for money.

Design

The design is the key point of the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition and it is naturally a lot more attractive than the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. The handset comes with a leather back designed by the known Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa which reminds of a suitcase. Realme GT Master Explorer Edition also comes with a curved display at the edges making it even more elegant and futuristic. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a more traditional design with a glass back and a flat display, but it also offers a slightly more compact body. The Realme GT Master Exploration Edition naturally wins the design comparison.

Display

Realme GT Master Explorer Edition and OnePlus Nord 2 5G pack great AMOLED displays with the HDR10+ certification, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and an in-display fingerprint reader. Both the panels sport a good color accuracy and provide a similar level of quality, but the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition has a higher refresh rate: 120 Hz vs 90 Hz. This is the only reason why I would go for this handset if I had to choose the most advanced display. Note that there is another important difference between these displays: as mentioned in the previous paragraph, the Realme flagship has a curved screen, while the Nord 2 5G has a flat panel.

Specs & Software

Realme GT Master Explorer Edition and OnePlus Nord 2 5G are powered by two different chipsets: Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and MediaTek Dimensity 1200. Despite these two SoCs are different, they are both flagship-class with similar performance. Even though the Dimensity 1200 is built with a more advanced production process (6 nm vs 7 nm), the Snapdragon 870 is actually more powerful in terms of CPU and GPU performance. So, while the former should provide a better performance, the latter should provide a lower energy consumption. The memory configurations are the same: either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 of 256 GB of internal storage. The phones run Android 11 customized by Realme UI and OxygenOS, respectively.

Camera

Even when it comes to the camera departments, these devices have a lot in common. Despite hitting the shelves with the same camera app, these devices have the same main camera sensor: a Sony IMX766 with a 50 MP resolution and OIS. Even the front camera is the same 32 Megapixel sensor. What makes the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition a better camera phone than the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is the ultrawide sensor, with a 16 MP resolution instead of just 8 MP.

Battery

The two internal rivals come with exactly the same battery capacity and the same fast charging technology with a power of 65W. So which one will provide the longest battery life? We still did not test the battery life of these handsets, but after reading the specs on the paper, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G should last more. The OnePlus flagship killer has a processor with a more efficient production process and a lower refresh rate which should result in longer battery life, as long as the software does its job in the best way.

Price

OnePlus Nord 2 5G is priced at €399/$470 in the global market, while Realme GT Master Explorer Edition launched in the Chinese market with a starting price of €380/$450. Given its amazing design, higher refresh rate, and better ultrawide sensor, Realme GT Master Explorer Edition wins this comparison, but we are not considering the prices for obvious reasons.

The temperature is adjustable between 40°c to 200°C and the inside has a double-layer non-stick coating.

As for the smartphone, the Realme Flash will reportedly come with a curved screen featuring a punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner for housing the front-facing camera. Underneath, it is expected to packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. On the back panel, the phone will feature a triple-camera setup and is expected to come running Android 11-based Realme UI on top.

Realme is currently working on at least two different versions of MagDart chargers. One of them appears to have a slim profile while the other one is bulkier. The slimmer version is said to offer 15W wireless charging. The bulker version could have over 15W charging support as the company is touting the technology to be the world’s fastest when it comes to magnetic charging capabilities.

Similar to the Apple MagSafe technology, the Realme MagDart can be attached to the smartphone’s back panel to start charging. The bulkier version of the upcoming magnetic charger from Realme seems to have a fan to keep the temperature in control.

Mysterious Realme RMX3381 bags TENAA certification, few specs emerge

A new Realme smartphone with an RMX3381 model number has been certified by the TENAA authority of China. The appearance of this new phone suggests that the company could be gearing up to launch a new smartphone in the home market.

The RMX3381 model was previously seen at Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) certification site. Hence, it appears that the smartphone could be heading to European markets apart from Russia. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the moniker of the device.

Currently, the RMX3381’s TENAA listing has only a few details on its specifications. As per the listing, the device measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.8mm and it houses a 6.5-inch display. The device runs on Android 11 OS, and it is backed by a 4,880mAh rated battery.

The TENAA listing of the RMX3381 is expected to be updated with the remaining specs and images in the next few days. Probably, the company could be planning to launch this device in August in China.

Earlier today, a reliable tipster claiming that a rival phone for the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is in the works. Probably, Realme could be preparing a smartphone to rival Redmi’s first gaming phone. The tipster revealed that the device will come equipped with the Snapdragon 870 and its other specs will be similar to the K40 Gaming.

Realme is also rumored to be working on the Realme X9 series of smartphones and a new device called the Realme Flash. While nothing much is known on the specs of the X9 models, the Realme Flash will be arriving as the first Android smartphone with a magnetic wireless charger called the MagDart. It is advisable to wait for further reports to see whether the RMX3381 model number belongs to any of these smartphones.
