Of all the tablets announced today by Lenovo, the YOGA Pad Pro is the most expensive of them all, and that price is justified as this 13-inch Android tablet has a feature not available on most other tablets.
YOGA Pad Pro Design
The YOGA Pad Pro is a premium high-end tablet inside and out. Lenovo has largely kept the familiar YOGA Pad design we have come to know but has spiced it up a bit. The body is made from aluminum and a portion of the back is covered in Alcantara with the YOGA name etched on it. There is a 180° steel bracket that doubles as a kickstand and even allows you to hang the tablet on a wall.
YOGA Pad Pro Specs
The YOGA Pad Pro has a 13-inch 2K LTPS LCD display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 100% sRGB color gamut, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10. It has thin side bezels but the chin and forehead are thicker.
Just like the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021, this tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor and has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of non-expandable UFS 3.0 storage. There is no camera on the back but the front is home to an 8MP fixed focus RGB camera with a TOF sensor for face unlock.
The YOGA Pad Pro has four JBL speakers ( 2x 2.5W and 2 x 2W), Dolby Atmos, and three microphones. It packs a 10200mAh battery that will provide up to 12.7 hours of video playback. The tablet also runs Android 11 with ZUI 12.5 on top. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, and has Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C 3.1.
A unique feature of the Lenovo YOGA Pad Pro is that it has support for HDMI input via a Micro HDMI port. This allows you to use it as a second display for your computer or as a display for a device that supports HDMI out such as the Nintendo Switch.
There is no keyboard cover for the YOGA Pad Pro but you can purchase a capacitive stylus for it.
YOGA Pad Pro Price and Availability
The YOGA Pad Pro has a price tag of ¥3299 (~$515). It comes in black and will go on sale on May 31.

Today, Lenovo announced multiple products at its second summer product launch. The lineup includes new tablets, one of which is the Xiaoxin Pad Plus, a mid-range tablet that offers a lot for a pretty affordable price.
The Xiaoxin Pad Plus has an 11-inch LCD 2K (2000 x 1200) display with moderate-sized bezels of equal thickness on all sides. There is an 8MP ToF sensor in front with support for face unlock as the tablet doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. On the back are a 13MP autofocus camera and an LED flash.
The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 750G processor and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You get 110GB when you boot it up for the first time but there is a MicroSD card slot to add more storage if you want.
Lenovo ships it with ZUI 12.5 based on Android 11 and it comes with March 2021’s security patch. There is a 7700mAh battery inside the device and it has support for Quick Charge 3.0. The tablet charges via a Type-C 3.1 port and also via the four pogo pins at the bottom when in landscape mode. These pogo pins also connect to the optional keyboard designed for the tablet.
The Xiaoxin Pad Plus has four 1.5W JBL speakers and Dolby Atmos for surround sound. It also has dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 but doesn’t have support for 5G as there is no SIM slot.
Lenovo has put a price tag of ¥1999 on the Xiaoxin Pad Plus (~$312) which is way cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE which has similar specs and is priced at €649 (~$795). While Samsung’s own tablet has 5G, packs a significantly bigger battery, and comes with a stylus, it only has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
To make this an even better deal, Lenovo is offering a limited-time discount on the Xiaoxin Pad Plus. Those who pre-order between today and June 1, can pick it up for ¥1599 (~$250). The savings can be put towards the purchase of the Xiaoxin Active Capacitive Pen which is priced at ¥299 (~$47) or the ¥469 (~$73) Xiaoxin Pad Magnetic Keyboard. The latter has a trackpad and a built-in kickstand with a free stop hinge that can be adjusted between 0° and 165°.
Interested buyers can purchase the tablet and accessories on Lenovo’s official website.
Earlier this month, a Google Nest Hub model running on the open-source Fuchsia OS was spotted on Bluetooth SIG certification website. The model was spotted running Fuchsia 1.0. Google has now reportedly released the new OS for the first-generation Nest Hub, initially launched as Google Home Hub.
Google first commenced development of the Fuchsia OS in 2016, an open-source operating system that is distinctively not based on the Linux kernel, one major distinguishing feature from the Android OS. Instead of the Linux kernel, the OS is based on a microkernel called Zircon.
You don't ship a new operating system every day, but today is that day.
Petr Hosek, a Google technical lead on the Fuchsia OS tweeted earlier today that “You don’t ship a new operating system every day, but today is that day.” However, it may take several months before a broad release will be achieved on all Nest Hub units across the globe. The release will first roll out to users enrolled on the Preview Program.
The Nest Hub presently runs on Cast OS which will be swapped for Fuchsia OS but there isn’t much chance in the user experience, according to 9to5Google. The two operating systems look alike such that some users may not even notice the difference. But Google says Fuchsia is a “production-grade operating system that is secure, updatable, inclusive, and pragmatic.” Google also plans to push the new OS to laptops and even smartphones. It would be recalled that a Pixelbook being tested with Fuchsia OS was spotted in 2018.
We expect the tech giant to release a timetable for the rollout which is expected to shift the the second-gen Nest Hub models after it has been pushed to the first-gen models.
Xiaomi recently released their new noise-canceling TWS earbuds, the FlipBuds Pro. If you remember, Xiaomi had launched an active noise-canceling TWS earbud last year called the Air 2 Pro. However, these brand new earbuds come under a new lineup called Flipbuds.
So what upgrades and improvements does it have over the Air 2 Pro? Welcome to Gizmochina’s full review of the Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro.
Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Review: Design
Unlike the oval cylindrical shape of the Air series, the FlipBuds Pro has become more rounded and compact. Xiaomi claims that this design is in line with the new Xiaomi logo design concept. However, in terms of shape, it looks very similar to OPPO’s Enco X.
But FlipBuds Pro is still simpler and more like a pebble. The frosted material has also turned into a glossy finish. The Xiaomi logo is on the spindle, and the pairing button and charging port are at the bottom. Of course, the Flipbuds Pro case is still equipped with wireless charging. Other than that, there are no extra design elements. Unfortunately, it’s only available in black, and with the glossy finish, fingerprints will soon cover your entire earbuds case.
When you open the case, you will find that the lid is very flexible, so it is very easy to open the box with one hand. Taking out the earbuds, you can see that the shape of the earbuds is very familiar. It looks like the black version of Airpods Pro, but Xiaomi has added some of its own design elements, so you can find some differences if you look carefully. For example, the earbuds look similar to the AirPods Pro, but they are actually larger than the Apple earbuds. The earbud stem is also thicker. So they have a better fit in your ears.
We all know that the Air 2 Pro (our review here) does not have the best fit, but thanks to the enlarged earbuds and the new design, this issue is no longer a problem. There is a ring of a metal-like decorative strip to make the earbuds look less monotonous. This time the Flipbuds Pro has abandoned the Air 2 Pro’s personality design and changed to a more popular form factor, making it suitable for more people to wear. I think Xiaomi is right to make this change, after all, good wearing comfort and solid active noise cancellation performance of the earbuds are the most basic requirements.
Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Review: ANC Performance
One of the criteria for identifying good and bad active noise cancellation earbuds is the strength of noise cancellation. Because recently I have been using my own noise-canceling TWS – the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, let’s talk about the difference between the Buds Pro and the Flipbuds Pro.
First of all, let’s look at its disadvantages. Although the earbuds have improved the design to reduce the wind noise, the effect is still relatively poor, and when compared to the Samsung Buds Pro, there is a difference. The Flipbuds Pro’s transparency mode is not as transparent as the Samsung Buds Pro either, but other features of the Flipbuds Pro are basically the same as the Samsung Buds Pro.
There are three noise cancellation modes to choose from, but there is not much difference in noise reduction intensity. The transparency mode has an option to Enhance voice, which when turned on, will slightly degrade the environmental sound and retain the human voice. Considering the price, Flipbuds Pro’s noise cancellation performance is still at a relatively good level.
Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Review: Sound Quality & Operation
The LHDC encoding on the Xiaomi Air 2 Pro is replaced with aptX Adaptive, a Bluetooth encoding protocol. We’ve seen the same on Redmi Airdots 3, which combines low latency and high sound quality. The tuning style favors heavy bass, the vocals have lower volume, so listening to rock or symphonic music is a more suitable choice. Gaming latency with Xiaomi phones is very low, but for non-Xiaomi phones the latency is very high, if you are not a Xiaomi phone user, you need to pay attention to this.
The Flipbuds Pro is also operated by touch instead of press. Long press to switch to the noise cancellation mode, short press to control the music play and pause, the previous song and the next song. Volume can also be controlled in the earbuds through custom settings. There is another good news too, you can control the Flipbuds Pro settings without using the XiaoAi App. You only need to go into the Bluetooth settings to do all the operations, and the response time of the pop-up animation has become faster too. But you can only enjoy the above features if you are a Xiaomi phone user, otherwise, you still have to use the Chinese XiaoAi APP. The app on Xiaomi phones and non-Xiaomi Android phones is the same, there are no missing features. But the XiaoAI iOS app does not support this earbud yet.
One feature is particularly interesting, if you do not put your earbuds in the earbud case within three minutes, the phone will remind you that the earbuds are not in the case, which is a very useful feature for users who often lose their earbuds.
This time Flipbuds Pro also supports dual device connection similar to the Huawei FreeBuds Pro, which simply means that you can connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time. When you connect two devices, the earbuds will automatically switch to the device which is playing the audio, without you having to manually switch. The convenience of multi-device switching is even more convenient than the Samsung Buds Pro.
One might wonder, can it connect to three devices at the same time? The answer is no, if there are three or more devices that need to be switched, they still have to be connected manually. Dual device connectivity should be the biggest highlight on Flipbuds Pro, and I think it’s worth buying it for this feature alone.
Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Review: Battery Life
We were impressed by the long battery life of the Air 2 Pro, but the Flipbuds Pro does not continue this advantage, with only about 5 hours of battery life with the ANC turned on, and only 22 hours of battery life with the earbud case for charging. So the battery life is just ordinary.
The official price of Flipbuds Pro is $15 more expensive than the Air 2 Pro, but it upgrades the wearing comfort and stability, solves software problems, and enables multiple devices to be connected at the same time. I think these upgrades are still worth the $15.
Would you consider it as your primary noise-canceling earbuds? Let us know in the comments section.

Honor CEO, Zhao Ming, delivered a keynote speech to his alma mater, Shanghai Jiaotong University. In the speech, the senior official stated that the brand will be focusing on the smartphone field rather than joining the recent trend of working on cars.
According to an ITHomereport, the executive of the Chinese tech giant is aiming at becoming the number one smartphone brand in China and all across the world. Furthermore, Zhao Ming added that the company will not be joining the car making trend that various Chinese brands are getting involved in. This includes the likes of Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and others. Back in 2020, the company had become independent from its former parent company Huawei.
Since then, Zhao Mind said that Honor has adhered to the “1+8+N” strategy for its smart products that will launch in the future. This includes smartphones being at the core, while the brand will also build integrated experiences through laptops, smart screens, tablets, wearables, hearables, routers, and other electronic products. The official further added that young people use their smartphones for more than 6 hours a day, which is indicative of how crucial smartphones still are to the brand.
Zhao Ming believes that cars, AR technology, and more, will soon become more popular in the future, but smartphones are still irreplaceable and are currently still the best solution. He stated that the company is still consumer centric and will continue to innovate in the industry, while also maintaining relationships with universities and research institutes.

Earlier today (25th May 2021), Meizu officially announced that it is opening the online reservations for its smartwatch. This smartwatch features the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 and will be released on 31st May 2021.
The brand made the announcement on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. The Meizu smartwatch from the Chinese tech giant is currently available for online registration and sports the Snapdragon 4100 chipset along with eSIM support as well. This enables it to be capable of making calls and not rely on the paired smartphones, making it completely independent. The eSIM will also support 4G network as well.
The wearable from the company is currently listed for online registrations from the official website, along with JD.com, a popular Chinese e retailer website. For those unaware, the Meizu smartwatch will feature many of the features that are common with smartwatches including playing music, offering activity tracking, mobile payment services, and more. Notably, the device will also run on Flyme OS that is built for the company’s smartwatches. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the launch event at the end of this month.
Recent reports have revealed that Samsung could be planning to launch the Galaxy M32 smartphone in India. A fresh report by My Smart Price states that the support page of the Galaxy M32 has gone live on Samsung India’s website (via. My Smart Price). This indicates that it may not take too long for the handset to go official in the country.
The Galaxy M32’s support page that has appeared on Samsung India only mentions it with SM-M325F/DS model number and has no information on its specs. At the beginning of this month, the handset was seen in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Bluetooth SIG authority. It also appeared at the DEKRA certification site with a 6,000mAh battery. Last week, it was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance certification site and the Geekbench benchmarking platform.
The Geekbench listing revealed that the Galaxy M32 has an Helio G80 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS. Other reports have revealed that it has a front camera of 20-megapixel and its rear camera system features a 64-megapixel primary camera. It is expected to arrive in colors like black, white, and light blue.
It seems that the Galaxy M32 will be based on the Galaxy A32 4G, which went official earlier this year. It features a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED FHD+ 90Hz display, a 20-megapixel front camera, a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel (superwide) + 5-megapixel (macro) + 5-megapixel (depth) quad-camera system. It has a 6,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support and it also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.
With only five days in this month, it appears that Samsung may announce the Galaxy M32 in early June.
Recently, there have been a number of rumors and reports regarding the upcoming Google Pixel 6 series. One of the notable rumors is that the device will feature a custom chip that is built in collaboration with Samsung. Now, a new leak has revealed that this chip will offer performance similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC.
Well yes, Whitechapel is a 5nm chip with current performance on PVT units closer to SD870, they are not trying to match SD888. Google's focus is on ML & so the raw AI performance is matched to that of other leading mobile chips. Plus that Mali GPU is performing good under stress.
According to tipster @heyitsyogesh, the new custom chip in the Pixel 6 series, codenamed Whitechapel, will rival the Snapdragon 870 chipset. Notably, this marks a major shift for the search engine giant that has always shipped its devices with Qualcomm processors. While we had reported on the custom chip previously, the leak brings new information regarding the Whitechapel chipset. Yogesh claims that the processor will be built on a 5nm process and its performance will be between the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 865 SoCs.
For those unaware, the Snapdragon 870 is a flagship grade processor from the chip maker and is an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 865 Plus. The tipster further claimed that Google is not trying to match the raw performance of the Snapdragon 888 chip, rather, it is focussing on improving upon Machine Learning and AI processes. Although, as the company doesn’t have an in house mobile graphics division, Whitechapel will be paired with a Mali GPU.
Furthermore, AndroidAuthorityreported that Weinbach also revealed some supposed specifications regarding the display of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. As per the report, the base model will sport a FHD+ resolution and offer a 120Hz high refresh rate as well. On the other hand, the Pro variant will offer a higher QHD+ resolution with the same high refresh rate panel. The higher end model will also reportedly be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack. But this is still unconfirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt and stay tuned.

Tech giant Samsung Electronics has announced the addition of two new smart all-in-one monitors in its growing collection of multipurpose, Tizen-powered smart monitors. The smart devices are the 43-inch 4K Smart Monitor M7 and the 24-inch 1080p Smart Monitor M5.
The range of smart monitors offers an array of features and functionality that prove their versatility. The launch of these two new models is coming after the unveiling last year of the smart monitors in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. The new additions seem to be a strategic move by Samsung to fill the lower and upper end of sizes of the smart monitor. This would cater to a broader array of customer choices and preferences. Samsung said the 24-inch model focuses on customers searching for a good value multi-functional monitor.
The design philosophy of the new smart monitors remains productivity and entertainment. Both models run on Samsung’s Tizen OS, which provides a solid basis for seamless video streaming, smart connectivity to your Galaxy smartphone, and Voice Assistant support like the Google Assistant, Bixby, and Alexa. The impressive built-in speakers on the smart monitors provide a solid sound experience for users. With the Dex app, you can transform the smart monitor into a huge desktop for your smartphone.
There is the likelihood that the M7 will have HDR10 capability in addition to its solar-powered remote control module. The M7 model also features slim bezels and a USB Type C port.
There is no pricing information for the two models at this time. However, the two mid-size models unveiled last year cost between $230 and $400. We would expect the two smart monitors to have a wider price range due partly to the innovations, coupled with their being opposite ends of a spectrum.
Xiaomi has just published a new patent. This patent was for a “flexible screen module,” with its highlight feature being that it has nearly a 100 percent screen to body ratio.
The publication number for the new patent is CN112839115A and ITHomereported that the patent also includes a summary that offers us a brief description of the technology. This display technology also includes two regions or two display areas along with a hinge mechanism. In the sub area of the second display region, the device houses a camera module. The camera system moves along with the hinge mechanism. Through this movement, the second display of the device can be used as a regular front display and can even uncover the cameras for rear photography as well.
Furthermore, this also allows the foldable smartphone from the Chinese tech giant to have the same camera system face the front side. Although, when the front facing camera is not required, the device can achieve a high screen to body ratio that nears 100 percent. Unfortunately, finer details regarding this handset is currently unknown and it is unclear if the company is actually working on such a product or is just covering all bases. So stay tuned for more updates if there are any notable updates regarding this patent.
Samsung is one of the leading brands when it comes to the foldable smartphone as it has already launched a few devices with such form-factor and more are in the pipeline. Now, a new report claims that the South Korean giant is aiming to ship seven million units of its two upcoming foldable smartphones this year.
The report coming from The Elec, citing people aware of the matter, claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, which will come with support for the S-Pen and is aiming to ship three million units in shipments this year.
The numbers indicate that the company’s target is 2.4 times to 2.8 times more than its shipments of 2.5 million units in 2020. The increased shipment target is because the company expects more consumers are willing to buy foldable phones due to curiosity.
It remains to be seen if the company manages to achieve the shipment goal for the foldable smartphones. Although Samsung plans to ship over seven million units this year, it would be good even if manages to ship more than three million units.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to arrive as the world’s first foldable phone with an under-display camera. This will allow the smartphone to offer a higher screen-to-body ratio than the predecessor. The device is expected to come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the outside.
While the phone will have support for the S-Pen stylus, it is not yet confirmed if the product will be bundled or sold separately. With so many new features, the price tag for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to arrive with an expensive price tag. Along with that, the brand will also launch the Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable smartphone in July.
Gina Raimondo, the US Commerce Secretary proposed a new 52 billion US Dollar funding that will boost the government’s efforts for semiconductor production and research and might even lead to seven to ten new chip factories.
According to a Reutersreport, the government official proposed the funding earlier this week in an event outside of Micron Tech’s chip factory. Raimondo believes that the government could generate a “150 billion US Dollar plus” investment in chip production and research. The investment would also include contributions from state and federal governments and even private sectors as well. She further added that “We just need the federal money to unlock private capital. It could be seven, could be eight, could be nine, could be 10 new factories in America by the time we’re done.”
Furthermore, Raimondo expects that different states will compete for federal funding for chip facilities, while the Commerce Department would run a transparent process for awarding the funds. For those unaware, the proposal from the Secretary arrives as the world is facing a major shortage of semiconductors. This has led various governments to scramble for chip supplies and even invest locally to build new plants, including the like of the US and even the European regions.
The chip shortage has already caused a supply issue in various industries like automobiles, smartphones, home appliances, and others. Similarly, US Senator Mark Warner also stated that he believed the funds could help build around “seven to 10” new plants, although, “This is not going to solve this overnight. It will take years for the Commerce Department to make these investments.”
