Xiaomi launched its Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone, Asus is here with its ROG gaming smartphone and Razer Phone 2 has also been announced. Now, Nubia is readying its 2nd generation Red Magic 2 smartphone with some extraordinary features. Today, Red Magic took to Weibo and teased its dual cooling system. Interestingly, it will pack both air and liquid cooling system to keep it cool even during extensive gaming usage.
Now, it would be interesting to see the pricing and battery capacity details of the device. Its 10 GB RAM will help the device to unleash the full gaming experience. Further, there will be a 3D surround sound and 4D shock features. The Red Magic 2 has a single rear camera with a hexagonal LED flash. As like of other gaming smartphones, it will also feature LED lights. As per earlier teasers and reports, it will carry a horizontal blue LED RGB light bar.
The 4D shock technology is still uncovered, but we expect that it would carry dual vibration motors to give users another dimension of feeling. These shocks or vibrations will give users additional feedback while playing games. In other words, we can say it’s a PS4 like Haptic feedback feature which might make a debut under the 4D shock technology.
It is expected to launch alongside Nubia X on October 31, but nothing is confirmed as of now. Its predecessor Nubia Red Magic went on sale with 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition with a price tag of 2,099 (~$300) in China.
We have to wait for some more time as Nubia has not confirmed for an official launch date of Red Magic 2. Do you have any expectations regarding the Nubia Red Magic 2?

According to the data from SensorTower, thanks to the game’s availability on Android, PUBG Mobile dominates Asia and China while the US is making up about 30 percent of the revenue. Most of the products released under the Mi brand is not all manufactured by Xiaomi. In most cases, they are manufactured by third-party companies that are part of the Xiaomi ecosystem. One such product is the popular Mi Band models that were manufactured by Huami technologies. Another clear example is the Mi Laser Projector. The product is manufactured by Fengmi (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. The company recently launched its own branded laser projector that is dubbed Wemax One. The product has now been listed on Xiaomi Youpin for sale in China with a hefty 12990 yuan ($1870) price tag. In case you are at a loss why the price is so high, it is because the Wemax One is bundled with a subwoofer called Wemax S1.
The Wemax One laser projector is available in a basic version and a professional version with varying prices. The basic version with the Wemax S1 subwoofer is priced at 12,999 yuan ($1870). There is a Wemax One professional version which is bundled with anti-glare projector screen with a higher 16,999 yuan ($2446) price tag. Finally, the complete package comprising the laser projector, the Wemax S1 subwoofer and the projector screen costs 17,999 yuan (around $2590).
The Xiaomi Wemax One Laser Projector is very similar to the Mi Laser Projector in terms of design and most of the features. However, instead of 5000 Lumen, the light source brightness on the Wemax One can reach up to 7000 lumens which is of theater screen level. The actual display brightness is 1688 ANSI Lumens which is still impressive. The laser projector uses an advanced laser fluorescence display technology (ALPD 3.0) with a shelf life of 25,000 hours which translates to up to 34 years usage if the projector is used for 2 hours daily. A daily usage of up to 4 hours can still guarantee up to 17 years of usage, meaning the laser is ultra-durable and long lasting. The projector’s two core technologies are the light source technology manufactured by the Light Peak photoelectric company while the imaging technology chip in use was made by Texas Instruments and Guangfeng photoelectric custom R&D.
The new Wemax One Laser projector is capable of displaying up to a maximum of 150 inches with 1920 x 1080p resolution. The projector provides a red light ratio of 16% to 18%, wide color gamut, color quasi, with contrast comparable to the laser studio 3000: 1 screen contrast. The projector also diffuses its direct light source, allowing for more eye protection. The sound quality is also of high quality, and with the Wemax S1 subwoofer, it couldn’t be any better. Thus, the Wemax One can indeed provide theatre-level audio-visuals right in the comfort of the sitting room.
The new laser projector is already available outside China via e-retailers like GearBest but the Wemax S1 subwoofer is yet get listed.

Yesterday, Xiaomi announced its highly anticipated Mi Mix 3 with a slider design and an excellent camera module. Xiaomi has emphasised quite a lot on its camera which has allowed it to score 103 points at DxOmark ratings. It has surpassed the scores of iPhone X, P20 and remains equal with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and HTC U 12+. Such a great improvement has been made by just tweaking the camera modules for better performance.
Xiaomi’s co-founder, Lei Jun revealed that Mi Mix 3 camera module is the same as that of Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S, only software optimizations have allowed it to perform better than its predecessors. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 carries a combination of 12-megapixel dual cameras including a CMOS Sony IMX 363 and Samsung S5K3M3+ camera module, as even Xiaomi 8 and Mi Mix 2S carries the same. Xiaomi has witnessed huge success after they built a dedicated department for developing and researching on mobile camera units. The main aim of the department is to improve the photo quality and integrate the AI in the camera modules. Well, Xiaomi’s change in development tactics has allowed the Chinese electronics maker to see exceptional changes. Now, they are moving towards quality camera performance rather than just adding more and more pixels into it.
Additionally, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 carries 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a rear placed fingerprint sensor. It is available in four different variants of RAM and internal storage. In-camera department, Xiaomi has added a dual rear camera shooter of 12 megapixels with different aperture levels. The Nokia 9 PureView is said to be scheduled to launch early next year. The phone is expected to come with 5 rear cameras as shown in some leaked images. It appears it will also have wireless charging support as two Nokia branded wireless chargers have been spotted online.
The two wireless chargers were seen on the website of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) after getting certified. One of the chargers is listed as the Nokia Wireless Charger with model number DT-10W and comes in a pretty blue color. It is circular and has a design similar to Huawei’s wireless charger.
The second one is listed as the “Portable Wireless Charger” and has model number DT-500. It is shaped like a rectangular battery pack with cut-outs for the input (likely Type-C) and output ports. There is also a power button on the side.
It is easy to deduce from the name and the image that it is a mobile battery pack that can also charge supported devices wirelessly. This isn’t the first of its kind though, there are a number of battery packs available for purchase that also support wireless charging.
These two wireless chargers will most likely be announced alongside the Nokia 9. Owners of the Nokia 8 Sirocco will also be able to use them since it has support for wireless charging.
ELEPHONE is one of the rapidly growing emerging smartphone brands from China. The company has for a long time been dishing out beautifully-designed smartphones which are not just good-looking but also affordable. Apart from smartphones, ELEPHONE’s range of smart bands, power banks and others have often courted positive reviews from consumers. The company is expanding its global reach and is set to open a physical store in Morocco’s capital city, Rabat.
The Elephone store will be opened officially to customers on October 27 and happens to be the company largest ever brick and mortar store as well as its first in Africa. Already, arrangements are in top gear to ensure the opening ceremony is a grand one. Invitations have been sent out to the press and other stakeholders. In addition, several billboards have been mounted on different locations in the beautiful city of Rabat and in the advert, the company is teasing a brand ambassador who is pictured in a silhouette. The company has disclosed, though, that the brand ambassador is Leila Gouchi, a famous local artiste whose popularity extends beyond the shores.
As for the store, ELEPHONE’s flagship U series and its A4 series models will be stocked at the store, of course at affordable prices. The company says it will also provide efficient customer services. We hope with this impending rollout in Rabat, the company will speed up its global expansion plans. You can keep a tab on the company’s product releases in Morocco by following Elephone Maroc’s official Facebook page.
Just a day after MediaTek announced its new Helio P70 octa-core 12nm processor, Realme took the stage at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018 to announced that it’ll be the first brand globally to launch a smartphone powered by the Helio P70 chipset.
Making this announcement, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India said, “The next Realme will be powered by P70 and it is coming soon.” He has also clarified that while the phone will be a game changer in its price segment, it is not the successor of the Realme 2 or 2 Pro.
Realme, which started off as a sub-brand of Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo, recently split from its parent company and is now running as an independent brand. However, the company is still making use of Oppo‘s supply chain and service centers.
The first smartphone from the brand — Realme 1, was powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 chipset. But for the subsequent devices, including Realme 2, 2 Pro and C1, the company chose Qualcomm and not MediaTek for the processor.
The MediaTek P70 is the successor of the MediaTek P60 launched earlier this year. It is built using TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology and comes with multi-core APU operating at up to 525MHz for fast and efficient edge-AI processing. The AI engine delivers a 10 to 30 percent AI processing boost compared to the Helio P60, says the company.
It has four ARM Cortex-A73 core clocked at 2.1GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz in an Octa-core big.LITTLE configuration. It has ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU operating at up to 900MHz, which promises a 13 percent performance improvement compared to the Helio P60.
While Realme has not revealed when it will launch the Helio P70-powered smartphone, we are expecting the company to launch the phone by the end of this year given that MediaTek has already confirmed that Helio P70-powered smartphones could make debut from next month as it is already in production.
Following the launch of the Apple AirPods in 2016, we have seen a number of manufacturers release their own version of the wireless earbuds. The latest to join the train is Mobvoi, makers of the Ticwatch smartwatches, and they’ve named it the Ticpods Free.
The Ticpods Free has a somewhat similar design to the AirPods. The outer part of the stems have vertical grooves while the inner part has a gloss finish. The main earbuds that go into your ear canals are unlike Apple’s and more like that of regular earphones with silicone tips. Mobvoi says this design provides noise isolation during calls. The Ticpods Free also comes in three colors – Navy, Lava (red) and Ice (white) with a matching charging case.
The earbuds support gesture controls such as double tapping to answer/end calls, sliding up/ down to adjust volume, long press to activate the voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa) and double tapping to skip songs. The Ticpods Free also has in-ear detection so once you put them in your ears they begin to play and when you remove them they stop. Mobbvoi says they have an IPX5 rating which means sweat and rain shouldn’t damage them.
The Ticpods Free lasts 4 hours on a single charge and 18 hours in total with the case. They also support fast charging – 15 minutes charge equals 85 minutes of listening time. The case charges via a MicroUSB port.
