Casio Oceanus Manta OCW-S6000PB Announced with Sapphire Bezel and Titanium Build

Casio has listed a new limited edition Oceanus Manta, the OCW-S6000PB-7AJF, set to release in June 2025. The watch is priced at ¥385,000 (around $2,700) and will be limited to 600 units.

Casio OCW-S6000PB-7A Oceanus Manta

This model sticks to the usual Manta design but adds a few upgrades. The main highlight is the sapphire glass bezel. It’s cut with 12 outer facets and 60 detailed concave cuts, making the light reflect in different ways depending on the angle. Casio uses blue vapor deposition on the top and bottom, platinum gradation vapor deposition on the sides, and blue sputtering on the vertical surfaces. This gives the bezel a bright, shifting look that’s meant to reflect the line where the sea and sky meet.

The dial uses in-dial solar tech, which means the watch charges through the three sub-dials, allowing the main dial to stay bright white. Blue transparent coating is used on the sub-dials. The 12 o’clock index is blue sputtered, and the second hand is anodized blue. This contrast of blue and white gives the watch a clean and sharp look. City codes are laser-engraved on the inner dial, and most indexes are finished in silver plate.

Casio OCW-S6000PB-7A Oceanus Manta

The case is 10.3mm thick and still includes Bluetooth, radio, solar tech, and world time functions. The body is made of titanium with a titanium carbide treatment to help resist wear and improve color. The titanium bracelet has arrow-shaped H links and polished center links. Parts of the band are Zaratsu-polished for a smoother finish.

Casio has removed the outer titanium bezel frame to highlight the edge-to-edge sapphire glass. The case back is laser-engraved with a unique serial number, and each watch comes in a special box.

Motorola Edge 2025 Renders Reveal New Design and Camera Upgrade

Motorola is getting ready to launch the Edge 2025 in the US. While the Edge 60 series is already available in Europe and Asia, the US variant hasn’t been announced yet. Now, new renders shared by Evan Blass (@evleaks) give a clear look at what’s coming.

Motorola Edge 2025

The front design of the Motorola Edge 2025 looks almost the same as the 2024 model. It has a curved display with a centered punch-hole camera. The frame includes power and volume buttons on the right, and the Quick Button on the left, which returns from last year. This button can be set to open specific apps or features, like email or webcam mode.

The back of the phone shows a major change. The Edge 2025 will have three rear cameras instead of two. This results in a larger camera module and a redesigned LED flash. The phone also features a faux leather back and comes in a Pantone-style green color. It’s unclear if more colors will be available.

There’s no official spec sheet yet, but the phone is expected to have an OLED display with a high refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP68 dust and water resistance, a 5,000mAh battery, 68W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and Android 15.

For comparison, the Motorola Edge 2024 had a 6.6-inch 144Hz pOLED display with a resolution of 2400×1080, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. It used a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide with macro support, and a 32MP front camera. It also had stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and the same Quick Button.

There’s no confirmed launch date, but with this leak and last year’s June release, the Edge 2025 is likely arriving soon.

Google’s Pixel 10 Pro spotted in the wild during a commercial shoot

The upcoming Pixel 10 has already been subject to many leaks in classic Google fashion. Specs, pricing, renders, you name it, it’s probably out there. But if that wasn’t enough, the device has now made a real-world appearance in possibly the most bizarre way yet.

A user on X stumbled upon a full-blown Pixel 10 commercial shoot while out for a walk in Vancouver. It’s a little hard to believe, but the user shared pictures of the shoot with a Pixel phone clearly in sight. The big giveaway, though, is the storyboard clearly mentioning Pixel 10.

Pixel 10 leaks from commercial ad shot

From what we can see, the Pixel 10 keeps the same camera bar design as the Pixel 9—something early renders had already hinted at. Judging by the visible hardware, this might be the Pixel 10 Pro or even the Ultra, especially given the presence of what looks like a camera visor housing a temperature sensor.

Google Pixel 10 ad shoot leak

It’s not just the design that appears unchanged. The Pixel 10 Pro and Ultra are rumored to stick with the same camera hardware as last year’s models. Instead of new sensors, Google is expected to lean on the upcoming Tensor G5 chip and its upgraded image signal processor to deliver improvements via software and algorithmic tweaks.

The base Pixel 10, though, might finally get in on the telephoto game. According to reports, it’ll feature an 11MP Samsung 3J1 sensor for optical zoom. It’s the same sensor Google used in the Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro.

However, not all the camera news is great. Word is that Google might swap its current 1/1.31-inch GN1 sensor for a smaller 1/1.95-inch Samsung GN8 on the Pixel 10.

The ultrawide camera also reportedly takes a step down, from a 1/2.55-inch Sony IMX858 to a more compact 1/3.1-inch Sony IMX712. If that sounds familiar, it’s because those are the exact sensors used in the Pixel 9a. And yes, that’s bit of a letdown.

Both available configurations feature the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Storage is expandable, though the second M.2-2280 slot is limited to PCIe 4.0 x2 with a 4GB/s bandwidth cap.

Asus ProArt P16

Asus ProArt P16 features

Display options include two OLED touchscreen panels: a 2880 x 1800 version with a 120Hz refresh rate and 400 nits brightness, and a 4K model with a 60Hz refresh rate. Aside from resolution and refresh rate, both panels offer identical specifications.

The laptop uses a triple-fan cooling system paired with liquid metal thermal paste for enhanced thermal performance and quieter operation. Under load, the system can draw up to 120 watts, dynamically split between the CPU and GPU.

Despite its performance hardware, the ProArt P16 remains relatively slim and light. It measures 0.59 inches at its thinnest point and 0.68 inches at its thickest, weighing 4.08 lbs. A 90Wh battery combined with the efficient Ryzen processor delivers decent battery life when the discrete Nvidia GPU isn’t heavily engaged.

For creatives, the trackpad features the Asus Dial Pad in the upper-left corner, designed for quick tool switching and timeline navigation in editing software. The device also includes two USB-C ports (one with USB 4, 40 Gbps), two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and an SD Express 7.0 card reader with data speeds up to 985MB/s.

The base variant with an RTX 5060 GPU is priced at €2,699. The RTX 5070 version is available for €3,099. The ProArt P16 is listed on Amazon UK and Asus’ official US store, with wider availability expected soon.

Want flashlight brightness control? Wait for Android 16

Google’s Android 16 is set to introduce native flashlight brightness controls, a feature Pixel users have long awaited. Spotted in the latest beta, this update promises to enhance hardware functionality with a sleek Material 3 Expressive interface.

Google Pixel phones have often leaned on software innovation to offset modest hardware, and Android 16’s latest beta, rolled out last week, continues this trend with its Material 3 Expressive redesign. A new report from the Google News Telegram channel reveals that Android 16 QPR 1 will finally integrate flashlight brightness adjustment at the OS level, utilizing APIs introduced in Android 13. These APIs, previously tapped by third-party apps like FlashDim for variable LED brightness, were limited to Google’s Camera and Magnifier apps.

The update introduces a Flashlight Strength slider in the Quick Settings panel, accessible by tapping the right side of a resizable tile. Leaked screenshots show a clean toggle and slider UI, making brightness tweaks intuitive. This addresses a pain point for Pixel users, as the flashlight’s default dim output, likely a thermal precaution due to passive LED cooling, has been a drawback.

While third-party apps have filled the gap, offering widgets and toggles via the same APIs, Google’s native implementation, expected in mid-2025, marks a significant step. However, prolonged use at peak brightness risks LED degradation, a concern also noted in app disclaimers. With Android 16 also bringing resizable Quick Settings tiles, this update could elevate Pixel’s utility. And while this leak primarily concerns Pixel users, other smartphone makers are also expected to adopt this useful feature.

Will this feature shine bright for users, or flicker under thermal limits? The QPR 1 release should reveal.

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra vs Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra: Which giant-sized tablet does it better?

The market for large-screen tablets does not change all that quickly. We only see a new entrant in this space every few months. Fortunately, Xiaomi recently launched its Pad 7 Ultra tablet as a new option for those looking for a big, premium Android tablet.

Prior to this, the option was (more or less) limited to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. It had a good head start in setting the bar for a high-end Android tablet. Now that both tablets are side by side, let’s see which one could be a better buy for you.

7. Design and Build

For starters, both tablets are huge. While the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra measures 305.8 x 207.5 x 5.1mm, the Samsung Tab S10 Ultra is even larger at 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.4mm. Neither of these slates is pocketable, rather, they will claim dedicated space in your backpack.

Xiaomi’s model will still, however, be light to carry. At 609g, the Xiaomi slate is considerably lighter than Samsung’s offering. It weighs 718g for Wi-Fi or 723g for the 5G model. Xiaomi also trims the waistline slightly, coming in 0.3 mm thinner.

This means the Pad 7 Ultra has a more svelte footprint in theory. But then again, Samsung prioritizes durability over slimness. The Tab S10 Ultra is made of armor aluminum and features IP68 dust and water resistance.

Stylus support is also available at both ends. Xiaomi supports a magnetically-attached pen (sold separately), while Samsung builds more functionality into its S Pen, which features Bluetooth, gyro, accelerometer, and a 2.8ms latency. The S Pen is more capable, but you may only notice that if you do more than jot down notes or doodle.

6. Display

Samsung’s 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is a little larger than Xiaomi’s 14.0-inch AMOLED, but Xiaomi pulls ahead in resolution. The Pad 7 Ultra delivers 2136 x 3200 pixels, resulting in ~275 ppi, while Samsung’s 1848 x 2960 resolution lands at ~239 ppi.

Xiaomi’s panel is also brighter, peaking at 1600 nits versus Samsung’s unspecified but likely lower figure (given past models and performance). It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid. The Tab S10 Ultra offers HDR10+, but skips Dolby Vision entirely.

Both offer 120Hz refresh rates, but the Xiaomi panel leans more toward content creators who want pixel density and color fidelity, while Samsung’s is geared toward general use, productivity, and media.

5. Performance

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra debuts with an Xring O1 chip, a new 3nm processor with a 10-core CPU running at 3.7GHz. It’s paired with the Immortalis-G925 MC16 GPU, and based on specs alone, it’s pushing toward the top of mobile silicon. Xiaomi’s ambition with this chip is clear: take on both Snapdragon and MediaTek with a custom platform optimized for high-end performance.

Samsung’s Tab S10 Ultra uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, a high-end 4nm chip with an octa-core CPU and Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU. It’s capable but slightly behind Xiaomi’s setup on paper, especially with fewer cores and lower top-end clock speed (3.4GHz vs. 3.7GHz).

In actual performance, Xiaomi may edge ahead in multitasking and raw benchmark numbers, but Samsung’s software optimization through One UI may keep things smooth enough that most users won’t notice a difference in day-to-day tasks.

4. Cameras

Xiaomi gives the Pad 7 Ultra a single 50MP main camera, while Samsung opts for a 13MP + 8MP ultrawide setup on the rear. For front cameras, Xiaomi has a 32MP ultrawide, while Samsung uses a 12MP wide + 12MP ultrawide.

Despite Xiaomi’s higher megapixel count, tablet cameras still aren’t designed for photography. Where it matters most—video calls—both tablets offer 1080p and 4K video support.

3. Audio and Connectivity

Xiaomi goes all-in with eight speakers supporting Hi-Res audio, while Samsung includes four AKG-tuned speakers. Volume and clarity are likely excellent on both, but Xiaomi may have an edge in spatial audio quality.

Xiaomi also supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, slightly ahead of Samsung’s Bluetooth 5.3 and comparable Wi-Fi 7 support. Samsung’s model supports GPS and eSIM (in the cellular variant), which Xiaomi skips entirely; it has no SIM or GPS onboard.

Xiaomi does offer infrared and NFC (data-only), which are rare on tablets. Samsung counters with Samsung DeX and optional 5G, so both offer unique advantages.

2. Storage and Battery

Both tablets come in 256GB/12GB RAM, 512GB/12GB RAM, and 1TB/16GB RAM configurations. Samsung includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage, while Xiaomi does not. That could matter if you’re dealing with large video files or prefer expandable storage.

For battery, Xiaomi leads with a 12000mAh cell supporting 120W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging. Samsung’s 11200mAh battery tops out at 45W charging, which feels slow by comparison. Xiaomi clearly wins in charging speed.

1. Final Thoughts

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is newer, thinner, and arguably more powerful on paper. It offers faster charging, a more pixel-dense display, and more speakers. It’s also likely to be cheaper, though Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed global pricing yet.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra offers a more polished software experience, better durability, a more advanced stylus, and longer software support.

If you’re looking for a performance-focused tablet with high-end specs and don’t mind potential quirks in software or availability, the Pad 7 Ultra has appeal. If you want a safer, more reliable experience with proven support and features, Samsung still has the edge. Both are “Ultra” in name, but how that translates to day-to-day use depends heavily on what you need.

Galaxy Z Fold7 real-life image reaffirms 200MP main camera

A leaked photo, purportedly showing the back of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7, has surfaced online, fueling excitement for its expected July 2025 debut alongside the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE. With mass production underway, this glimpse hints at what’s coming.

Samsung’s foldable lineup is gearing up for a big reveal, with the 7th generation foldables slated for an early July 2025 Unpacked event. A spy shot, allegedly of the Z Fold7’s backside, recently appeared online, though the original Weibo post has vanished, lending some credibility to the leak. The image shows a familiar vertical triple-camera setup but reveals little about rumored features like an edge-to-edge cover display or ultra-thin 3.9mm unfolded profile. Honestly, it seems like a dummy unit.

Just pay attention to the camera island

While the overall look and corner curvature appear nearly identical to the Z Fold6, the image supports an earlier rumor about a 200MP main sensor. For comparison, the Z Fold6 uses the 50MP ISOCELL GN3 (1/1.57″), which is smaller than Samsung’s 200MP sensors—typically around 1/1.3″ in size. The wider camera island and the lower placement of the flash suggest there may indeed be a larger sensor inside, lending weight to what was previously just speculation.

As per the rest of the specifications (leaked), the Z Fold7 is expected to measure 158.4 x 143.1 x 3.9mm unfolded (8.9mm folded), making it slimmer than rivals like the Oppo Find N5. It’s tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally, paired with 12GB RAM and a 4,400mAh battery, unchanged from the Z Fold6. The inner display’s bezels may shrink to 1mm from 1.9mm, enhancing screen real estate.

In contrast, the Z Flip7 may use the Exynos 2500 in most markets, reserving the Snapdragon 8 Elite for North America and China, while the Z Flip7 FE is rumored to rely on the Exynos 2400.

Galaxy Buds FE successor could offer a big leap in battery life

Samsung is poised to refresh its budget TWS earphones with the Galaxy Buds Core, succeeding the 2023 Galaxy Buds FE. Leaked details, including a significant battery capacity upgrade, suggest a compelling upgrade.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Core, model SM-R410, is set to replace the entry-level Galaxy Buds FE, which debuted in 2023 at around $100. Recent appearances on Samsung support pages and certifications, like BIS and Nemko, confirm the model number and hint at an imminent launch, possibly at the July 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event.

A 66% larger battery per earbud

A key leak from @TheGalox_ on X reveals the Buds Core will pack 100mAh batteries in each earbud and a 500mAh charging case—a 66% increase over the Buds FE’s 60mAh per bud and 4% more than its 479mAh case. This battery boost could extend playtime significantly.

The Buds FE offers 6 hours with ANC on and 21 hours with the case. If equipped with a modern chipset, the Buds Core might surpass this, potentially rivaling the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s 515mAh case and 48mAh buds. Speculations suggest the larger batteries might align with a new stem design, like the Buds 3 series.

Galaxy Buds FE

Expected to offer improved ANC and Ambient Mode, the Buds Core could launch as a robust value-for-money offering for Galaxy fans. With BIS certification signaling an India launch, global availability is likely. Will the Buds Core’s battery gains and potential redesign make it a budget standout? More details, including leaked renders, should emerge as we inch closer to the launch.

Huawei and Xiaomi top smartphone shipments in China for Q1 2025

Counterpoint’s latest report on smartphone shipments in China is in, and Huawei has come out on top, beating every other brand to claim the No. 1 spot in Q1 2025.

Overall, China’s smartphone market grew 5 percent year over year, thanks in part to a government subsidy program launched in January. But that early momentum didn’t last. According to Counterpoint, demand cooled after the holiday season, and growth still fell short of expectations.

Huawei grew modestly to grab the top spot

Huawei took a 19 percent share of the market this quarter, up 2 percent from Q4 2024. Xiaomi matched that 19 percent share but posted a slightly stronger quarter-over-quarter gain of 3 percent.

Apple slipped to third place. Its shipment fell 2 percent, bringing its market share down from 17 percent to 15 percent. Counterpoint attributes the drop to the structure of the government subsidy program, which only applies to phones priced above CNY 6,000 (about $820). Most iPhones, including the best-selling Pro models, are well above that threshold, putting them out of reach for any discount.

Oppo came in fourth, with a 15 percent share and modest 1 percent growth. Vivo saw a bigger drop, falling from 18 percent to 14 percent compared to the previous quarter. Honor followed with a 13 percent share, landing in sixth place.

Looking ahead, Counterpoint expects the Chinese smartphone market to continue growing year over year in 2025, though at a slower pace. Upcoming device launches in Q2 and the mid-year sales festivals are likely to give shipments a temporary boost.
