Honor Pad GT: What does it offer?

One of the highlighting aspects of the Honor Pad GT is its tall display. With a potential Q4 2025 debut, here’s why this news has fans grumbling.

The tri-fold doesn’t even match the mid-range Galaxy A36 when it comes to charging

Samsung’s tri-fold phone, reportedly named the “Galaxy G Fold”, is set to be a game-changer with a 10-inch unfolding display and a 6.49-inch cover screen, matching the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s outer panel. But recent tests reveal a charging speed of just 23 – 24W, which will likely be marketed as 25W. That’s a bummer when mid-range Galaxy A56 and A36 phones zip along at 45W.

Ahead of the official launch of the OnePlus 13T on April 24, OnePlus China President Li Jie has taken to social media to unveil key details about the phone’s display. According to his statement, the OnePlus 13T will bring several first-in-industry display features to the compact smartphone segment, continuing OnePlus’s strategy of pushing flagship-level hardware into smaller form factors.

The OnePlus 13T will feature a 6.32-inch OLED flat display with a 1.5 resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels and 460ppi pixel density. It supports 10-bit colors, a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

According to Li Jie, this is the best small-sized flat screen available in the industry right now—not just due to specs, but thanks to proprietary technologies like the P2 screen display chip and China’s first and only in-house display science production line. These two innovations were first seen in the OnePlus 13 and ensure that the 13T meets DisplayMate A++ standards.

The OnePlus 13T also includes eye-friendly features such as Mingmu Eye Protection 2.0 and full-brightness DC dimming for reduced eye strain during extended use. For all-weather usability, it integrates Rain Touch 2.0, Glove Touch, and Lingxi Touch for precision and responsiveness. The device is further optimized for gaming with features like the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a dedicated gaming antenna system, and a bypass charging function.

The brand has already confirmed that the 13T will be equipped with a massive 6,260mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The topmost variant of the device may offer 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

For photography, it will feature an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (2x telephoto) dual-camera setup. It will also feature G1 custom gaming Wi-Fi chip for stable, low-latency connectivity. The handset will be available it three shades: Morning Mist Grey, Heart Beating Pink, and Cloud Ink Black.

This drop comes alongside updates for the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, and Tab S9 and S10 lineups. While it’s a big win for foldable fans, the global rollout is still a bit of a question mark.

Stable One UI 7 update for the 2023 flagships is currently exclusive to South Korea

Samsung is making rapid progress in Korea, pushing One UI 7 to a slew of devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Owners in the country can install the update by heading to Settings > Software Update and tapping Download and Install. It’s a hefty package, bringing a fresh design with new app icons, smoother animations, and enhanced Galaxy AI features like smarter lock screen widgets and improved Modes and Routines.

Samsung’s One UI 7 rollout has been somewhat messy so far. The company only recently released the update for its 2024 flagships — and even that is limited to its home country. According to Samsung’s official timelines for Germany and India, the stable One UI 7 update will roll out to its 2024 flagships — the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 — in April. Other eligible devices are scheduled to receive the update in May.

The global Tab S9 series, for instance, is also expected to receive the update in May — but it arrived early in Korea. It’ll be interesting to see when global users, especially those with mid-range and budget devices, will finally get to experience the improvements.

For now, folks outside Korea will need to sit tight and keep checking for updates. With One UI 7, the Fold 5 and Flip 5 feel snappier and more polished. We’ll keep you posted as Samsung expands the rollout, so stay tuned for when it hits your region.

Now, court documents from the ongoing DOJ trial show that Google is making hefty monthly payments to Samsung to ensure that Gemini AI is preloaded on Galaxy phones, starting with the Galaxy S24 series in January 2025. The deal, which could extend to 2028, includes a cut of Gemini’s ad revenue for Samsung, though exact figures stay under wraps. DOJ lawyer David Dahlquist called it an “enormous sum.”

This arrangement powers Galaxy AI features, some exclusive to Samsung, giving Google a massive platform to refine its AI while Samsung cashes in. But the DOJ argues it’s a rerun of Google’s monopolistic playbook, using its search dominance to boost AI and funnel users back to Google. Sony has announced the FE 50-150mm f/2 G Master, a new full-frame E-mount lens in its flagship trinity series. It is the first telephoto zoom lens to offer a maximum focal length of 150mm alongside a constant f/2 aperture.

The FE 50-150mm f/2 GM joins Sony’s G Master lineup, and like the rest of that series, it’s built to offer both high resolution and smooth bokeh.

According to Sony, the lens covers several classic focal lengths used by professionals, such as 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm, in a single package. The aperture (f/2) remains consistent across the zoom range, so it’s suitable for users who frequently switch between wide, medium, and short telephoto shots without needing to swap lenses.

Internally, Sony has used a combination of advanced optics, including two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, two Super ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, and three ED elements. These are intended to control aberrations and improve sharpness and contrast across the frame.

There’s also a floating focus system that helps the lens maintain a 0.4m minimum focusing distance at the wide end, with up to 0.20x magnification.

The lens also benefits from Sony’s Nano AR Coating II, which helps reduce flare and ghosting in backlit conditions. A circular 11-blade aperture is designed to enhance the overall bokeh quality.

Physically, the lens measures around 200mm in length and weighs about 1,340 grams. Thanks to its internal zoom design, the lens doesn’t extend when zoomed in, which helps keep weight balance consistent.

Autofocus is handled by four XD linear motors and is supported by Sony’s AF algorithms. Sony says the lens is capable of maintaining fast and accurate autofocus even when shooting at 120fps with the Alpha 9 III. It also supports focus breathing compensation and includes Linear Response MF for more intuitive manual focus control during video recording.

The FE 50-150mm f/2 GM is dust and moisture-resistant, with a fluorine coating on the front element to help keep it clean.

Price and Availability

The Sony FE 50‑150mm f/2 GM will go on sale in June 2025 for £3,800 / €4,400. That puts it firmly in the high-end category, but given its specs and build quality, it’s clearly aimed at working professionals who need the flexibility of a zoom with the performance of primes.

Vivo X200 Ultra hands-on: All eyes on the cameras

Vivo has officially launched the X200 Ultra in China, and if you’ve been following the teasers, you already know what this phone is about: cameras.

Not long after the launch event, our team in China managed to get their hands on a unit to shoot a quick hands-on video (you can watch that below). But if you’re just here for the first impressions, here’s what stood out.

Right off the bat, the X200 Ultra makes its intentions clear. This is a camera phone, and it doesn’t try to hide it.

Its camera bump alone measures 15.9mm, which is bigger than that of any competing flagships, including Oppo Find X8 Ultra (14.2mm) or the Xiaomi 15 Ultra (15.6mm). Still, the body itself is relatively slim at just 8.69mm (thinner than both competitors), which helps to balance the overall feel.

The phone also feels surprisingly well-balanced in hand, partly thanks to a curved display on the front. It adds a bit of elegance while also improving grip, so it doesn’t come across as unwieldy.

To make using the camera even easier, the X200 Ultra includes a dedicated camera control button. And its implementation might actually be better than on the latest iPhones. Your finger rests naturally on it, so you’re likely to make full use of it.

As for the cameras, you get a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide (both using Sony’s LYT-818 sensor), and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens from Samsung (HP9, 85mm). The telephoto module includes Zeiss APO optics, 3.7x optical zoom, OIS, and Zeiss’s T* coating to help with lens flares and reflections.

If that’s not enough for you, Vivo also has a detachable Zeiss lens in the X200 Ultra’s Photography Kit, which extends the focal length up to 200mm. We haven’t had time to fully test that out yet, but we’ll save the deep dive and sample shots for a dedicated camera breakdown later.

The X200 Ultra is also the first Vivo phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite Edition chip. On top of that, you get a flagship-grade AMOLED display, a 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 90W wired charging, and 40W wireless charging..
