Asus ROG Phone 9 AnTuTu listing

The above image reveals that the ROG Phone 9 has managed to secure the highest-ever score of 3,121,390 on the AnTuTu benchmarks. The said score is a total of CPU, GPU, memory, and UX tests, in which the device achieved 661,243, 1,256,559, 672,974, and 530,614 scores, respectively.

The listing confirms that the ROG Phone 9 features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It reveals that the device comes with 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and Android 15. It also suggests that the device’s display will support a 185Hz refresh rate.

According to a recent report, the ROG Phone 9 will come equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel that offers an FHD+ resolution and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. On the front, the device will be equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

OnePlus Rumored to Launch Bigger Pad Pro with 13-Inch Display

As per a new report from China-based tipster WHYLAB, OnePlus is gearing up to expand its tablet offerings with a larger variant of its flagship OnePlus Pad Pro. This new model is expected to feature a 13-inch display, offering more screen space for productivity, entertainment, and creative tasks.

OnePlus Pad Pro

Although details are limited, the larger OnePlus Pad Pro is likely to include many of the key features of the current model, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for efficient performance and multitasking.

A notable upgrade in the larger version is the display resolution, which is rumored to be 3840×2400 pixels, providing sharper visuals. However, its peak brightness may be slightly lower at 600 nits compared to the 900 nits of the 12.1-inch model. The tablet is also expected to maintain the 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate for smooth navigation and responsive input.

A report from July stated that Oppo is also working on a new tablet, which will be a rebrand of the OnePlus Pad Pro. This larger screen variant could likely be the upcoming “Oppo Pad 3” as well. The report claimed that the tablet will come in Gold and Blue color options, with 8GB / 12GB / 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.

If other features remain the same, then we can expect the tablet to feature a quad-speaker setup, along with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. The battery could remain 9510mAh with support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.

In other news, the OnePlus 13, launched in China last month, is set for an international release with two configurations: 12GB/256GB in Black Eclipse and 16GB/512GB in Midnight Ocean and Arctic Dawn. Unfortunately, OnePlus has yet to reveal the exact launch date of these smartphones in the global market, however, they are expected to debut in late December or January.

IDC Report: Noise Leads Smartwatches as Indian Wearable Market Declines in 3Q24

As per the latest IDC report, the Indian wearable device market faced another tough quarter, with shipments dropping by 20.7% year-over-year (YoY) to 38 million units in 3Q24. This marks the second consecutive quarter of decline, as brands struggle with shifting consumer preferences, cautious inventory strategies, and fewer product launches.

Smartwatches: A Category in Flux

Smartwatch sales saw a significant 44.8% YoY decline, with shipments falling to 9.3 million units. Despite the festive season, brands primarily focused on clearing older inventory by offering discounts, especially on e-commerce platforms. Interestingly, the average selling price (ASP) for smartwatches rose slightly by 1.4% to $26.2, reflecting a gradual shift toward higher-priced advanced models.

Noise maintained its leadership in the smartwatch category, securing a 27.4% market share, followed by boAt with 16.8%. Titan, however, stood out with a 37.5% growth in market share, driven by its premium positioning. On the other hand, Fire-Boltt faced a staggering 84.1% decline in growth, signaling a shift in consumer loyalty within the competitive segment.

Earwear Sees Slower Decline, TWS Gains Momentum

The earwear category, while also declining, fared better than smartwatches with a 7.5% YoY drop to 28.5 million units. Within this segment, Truly Wireless Stereo (TWS) devices hit a record 73.2% share, highlighting their growing popularity among Indian consumers.

Boult and realme were the standout performers in this category, with impressive growth rates of 55% and 94.6%, respectively. The rise of offline sales also played a crucial role, with earwear shipments to brick-and-mortar stores growing by 9.4%, counterbalancing the 14.4% decline in online sales.

A Shift in Market Dynamics

One of the most striking trends in 3Q24 was the decline in shipments from smaller, long-tail smartwatch brands, including white-label products. After enjoying a massive 328.8% growth in 3Q23, these brands saw a steep 59.1% drop in 3Q24. Analysts attribute this shift to the market’s maturing consumer base, which is increasingly opting for reliable, established brands.

“The smartwatch category is under stress due to a lack of differentiation and a limited number of brands dominating the market. However, we’re observing early signs of consumers leaning toward advanced smartwatches for better health tracking and functionality,” noted Vikas Sharma, senior market analyst at IDC India.

Emerging Categories Like Smart Rings Show Promise

While traditional wearable categories struggled, smart rings emerged as a promising segment, with 92,000 units shipped in 3Q24. Ultrahuman led the segment with a 36.8% market share, followed by boAt at 20.5%. The category’s ASP fell by 16.2% to $162.1, signaling potential for mass adoption as prices drop and new models enter the market.

However, there are some subtle design differences. The standard edition has a glossy finish around its camera housing, while the Pro model features a more refined “Parisian trim stud” design.

Both phones are expected to feature a flat 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. The Standard Edition will likely use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro model may come equipped with the Dimensity 9300 SoC.

MediaTek: Oppo Find X8 Series Will Be the First Dimensity 9400 SoC Smartphone in India

OPPO and MediaTek have joined hands to introduce the upcoming OPPO Find X8 Series, the first smartphones in India powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400 chipset. Announced at the MediaTek Technology Diaries event held on November 15, this partnership focuses on improving performance, gaming, photography, and battery life, making the Find X8 Series a strong contender in the smartphone market.

Oppo Find X8 Dimensity 9400

Powerful Performance with the Dimensity 9400

The Dimensity 9400 chipset is built using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. Its second-generation “All Big Core” design improves speed and efficiency significantly, offering a 35% boost in single-core performance and 28% better multi-core performance compared to its predecessor. At the same time, it reduces power usage by 40%, ensuring smoother multitasking and quicker app launches.

The chipset’s 8th Generation NPU enables smarter AI features, such as Magic Compose in Google Messages. This feature generates replies that match the conversation’s tone, saving time and making messaging more convenient.

Better Gaming and Photography

The Dimensity 9400’s 12-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU enhances gaming by delivering 40% faster ray tracing performance and 41% better peak performance. With OPPO’s custom cooling system, users can enjoy long gaming sessions without worrying about overheating or lag.

Photography also sees major upgrades. The Find X8 Series combines MediaTek’s Imagiq 1090 ISP with OPPO’s Hasselblad Master Camera System. This pairing improves zoom quality, low-light photography, HDR video, and camera transitions. These features make it a solid choice for anyone who loves capturing photos or creating content.

Extended Battery Life and Efficient Charging

The Silicon-Carbon battery in the Find X8 Series works well with the Dimensity 9400 chipset to offer multi-day battery life. The phone consumes 14% less power when recording 4K video at 60fps. Recharging is also efficient, with the battery designed to handle demanding tasks while lasting longer.

Improved Connectivity

Connectivity is another highlight. MediaTek’s enhancements and OPPO’s AI LinkBoost ensure stable performance for gaming, streaming, and calls. The Dimensity 9400’s Xtra Range 3.0 extends Wi-Fi coverage by up to 30 meters, offering better connections in busy areas.

A Step Forward in Smartphone Innovation

“The Find X8 Series will put ultra-grade gaming, imaging, and smoothness in customers’ hands. This world-class performance is made possible thanks to our strong partnership with MediaTek,” said Andy Wu, OPPO Vice President.

What’s Next?

OPPO has not yet revealed the price or availability, but the Find X8 Series is expected to stand out with its strong performance, improved gaming and photography features, and dependable battery life. The smartphone will be launched on November 21 at 5 AM UTC, along with ColorOS 15.

The Find X8 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display, while the Find X8 Pro will sport a 6.8-inch LTPO micro-curved AMOLED screen. Both will support 120Hz adaptive refresh rates, up to 4500 nits of brightness, and durable Oppo Crystal Shield glass.

Oppo-Find-X8-Pro-1

They will debut the world’s first dual periscope camera system, with the X8 featuring a triple 50MP camera setup, and the Pro model adding dual 50MP periscope lenses for 3x and 6x optical zoom. Both devices will offer AI-powered Telescope Zoom, the HyperTone Image Engine, and a Hasselblad partnership for professional-grade photography and videography, including Dolby Vision and 12-bit processing.

The phones are expected to come with large batteries—5630mAh for the X8 and 5910mAh for the X8 Pro—and support 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

5 Reasons why iQOO 13 is better than Vivo X200

iQOO 13 arrived in October, boasting a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a robust camera setup, and a massive battery with over 6,000mAh capacity. Vivo X200 was also unveiled the same month, offering equally compelling specs at a similar price point.

While both are powerful phones with solid specs, there are five key areas where the iQOO 13 is significantly better than the Vivo X200.

iQOO 13, Vivo X200

1. Great display

iQOO 13 display

Although both smartphones have AMOLED panels, the iQOO 13 brings LTPO support for a variable refresh rate. This means the screen can automatically adjust the refresh rate as and when required to save power, which is missing on the Vivo X200. And thanks to the higher refresh rate support, you’ll have a smoother scrolling experience on the iQOO 13.

The iQOO 13 also wins at screen resolution. It has about 510 pixels per inch (PPI), whereas the OnePlus 12 only has about 460 PPI. Simply put, content would look better on the iQOO 13 than on the Vivo X200. Another advantage of having the iQOO 13 is that you’re getting a higher screen-to-body ratio.

2. Performance at best

iQOO 13 performance

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is the heart of iQOO 13, providing enough processing power for smooth operations. It’s Qualcomm’s fastest mobile chipset, featuring Oryon cores for the first time. The Vivo X200 is equipped with the Dimensity 9400 chip, the best from the chipmaker.

Both are exceptional chips for Android devices. You’d be able to play your favorite high-end games for long sessions without any lag. However, Adreno GPUs inside the Qualcomm chips have a history of being more stable and power-efficient than their MediaTek counterparts. For that reason, I’d give an extra point to the Snapdragon 8 Elite for gaming.

On AnTuTu V10, the iQOO 13 scored over 29 million points, while the Vivo X200 couldn’t surpass 26 million.

So, the bottom line is that the iQOO 13 delivers more robust performance than the Vivo X200.

3. Bigger battery and lesser charging time

iQOO 13 charging

The iQOO 13 has one of the biggest batteries you’ll see on a flagship device. It carries a 6,150mAh capacity, whereas the Vivo X200 has a 5,800mAh battery.

Both devices offer handsome screen-on time. However, the iQOO 13 will last a few additional hours. And the support for 120W fast charging makes the deal even sweeter. According to iQOO, it only takes 30 minutes to refill the battery to 100%.

The Vivo X200 comes with 90W charging support, which will take a little longer to refill than the iQOO 13. In short, the iQOO 13 offers more battery backup and less charging time.

4. Better audio quality

iQOO 13 audio

Both the iQOO 13 and Vivo X200 are equipped with stereo speakers for an immersive audio experience. However, the former device also supports Snapdragon Sound and 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res audio, further enhancing the audio quality and offering a high-fidelity listening experience.

5. Faster and more secure fingerprint scanner

The iQOO 13 employs an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is faster and more secure than the optical scanner in the Vivo X200.

The optical scanner on Vivo X200 uses a miniature camera to capture a 2D image of the fingerprint. These are found to be less secure and struggle most of the time with wet or oily fingers. The ultrasonic fingerprint technology on the iQOO 13 utilizes high-frequency sound waves to create a 3D map of the fingerprint, which is generally more secure than an optical one. Also, it works effectively even when fingers are wet.

Bonus: RGB lights

iQOO 13 RGB light ring

The iQOO 13 has a feature totally absent on the Vivo X200: RGB light ring. It features 72 light effects, including 12 color combinations and carious effects like pulsing and spiraling.

The RGB light ring works with notifications, music playback, and showing charging status. It also works with select gaming titles to indicate important game moments such as kills and wins. This is a cool addition to the iQOO 13, which might attract buyers.

Which one of the two would you pick for your next smartphone upgrade? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Redmi K80 and K80 Pro first details out, launch confirmed for next week

After months of waiting, the first details of the Redmi K80 series are finally out. The company has confirmed that this year, the series will include only two models: the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro. There will be no Redmi K80e.

Additionally, the brand has officially confirmed that all phones in the series will feature a 2K resolution screen developed by TCL Huaxing.

The screen reportedly uses customized M9 Luminescent material to reduce power consumption by 20.3%. It has 1800 nits of global peak brightness, which is the maximum brightness the display can reach across the entire screen.

Both devices in the series feature DC Dimming, polarized light technology for eye protection, and three TUV Rheinland certifications for eye-friendly use. The latter includes a hardware-level blue light filter with no flicker and has received clinical approval from Sun Yat-sen University’s Zhongshan Eye Center.

It seems that Redmi is placing a strong emphasis on user health with this year’s K80 series. Additionally, both the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

While details are emerging, Redmi has yet to reveal the official launch date for the K80 series. The brand has, however, confirmed that the phones will launch next week.

What to expect

In terms of specifications, the Redmi K80 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 50MP triple camera setup with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens, and a 20MP front camera. The device could be powered by a 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging.

The Redmi K80 Pro, on the other hand, will come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 50MP main, a 32MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto lens on the back. The front camera remains the same 20MP sensor as the standard K80.

Regarding the battery, the Redmi K80 Pro is rumored to have a 6000mAh capacity. However, it compensates with 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Samsung claims it finally has a hardware solution to the chunky camera bump problem

Ever been annoyed by the increasingly bulky camera bumps on modern smartphones? Just take a look at the vivo X200 Pro or the Oppo Find X8 Pro for reference. While these flagship devices offer incredible clarity and long-range zoom, achieving these features necessitates hardware that protrudes awkwardly from the phone’s sleek design. This not only affects aesthetics but sometimes also introduces usability issues, like an unstable wobble when the device is placed on a flat surface.

Fortunately, Samsung has unveiled a game-changing solution: the ISOCELL ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) technology, which promises to combine high-quality photography with a slimmer, more ergonomic camera design.

Samsung’s ALoP Solution

Samsung’s ALoP technology reimagines the telephoto camera structure by placing the lenses horizontally within the smartphone body. Instead of stacking the lens vertically between the prism and image sensor, ALoP arranges the lenses flat in the same plane as the phone. This innovation allows for a larger effective pupil diameter (EPD), enabling a brighter lens aperture without increasing the camera bump’s height.

By employing a 40°-tilted prism and a 10°-angled sensor assembly, ALoP reduces the overall height and length of the telephoto camera module by 22% compared to traditional designs. The result is a slimmer, less obtrusive camera bump that maintains the sleek profile consumers expect from premium smartphones.

Similar to Apple, Samsung is reportedly planning a ‘Slim’ model as part of its S25 lineup, anticipated for a separate release in 2025. It’s possible that Samsung could debut this new camera technology with the Slim model, refining it further for the S26 series.

Key Benefits of Samsung ALoP

ALoP’s novel lens arrangement supports an f/2.58 aperture at an 80mm focal length, offering brighter and low-noise images, even in low-light conditions. Unlike conventional telephoto optics, ALoP positions a large aperture lens in front of the prism, enhancing night photography performance.

The ALoP design not only minimizes the camera module’s footprint but also introduces a circular lens appearance, replacing the less attractive rectangular prism shape of folded optics. This improvement makes the camera bump less noticeable and more in harmony with the phone’s design.

A flatter, smaller camera bump means smartphones lie more stably on flat surfaces, improving ergonomics. Users no longer have to deal with the wobble issues caused by overly thick camera modules.

Huawei opens pre-reservations for Mate 70 series, reveals design

Huawei, from today, kicked off pre-orders for its upcoming Mate 70 series smartphones, exactly a week ahead of their official launch on November 26. And within the first 10 hours, the pre-order window has attracted over 130,000 registrations. The number is expected to rise further in the coming days leading up to the launch.

Meanwhile, the company’s online store, Vmall, has now revealed details on the three models in the line — the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, and Mate 70 Pro+.

Huawei Mate 70 series design revealed

Vmall’s listing reveals the configuration options for the Mate 70 series. Users will have a choice of five memory variants and eight color options across the three models.

For instance, the Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro will come in Black, White, Green, and Purple, all featuring 12 GB of RAM. Storage options for these models range from 256 GB to 1 TB.

The Mate 70 Pro+, on the other hand, will offer a distinct color palette of Black, White (potentially with different finishes), Gold, and Sky Blue. Its top-tier model has 16 GB of RAM and storage choices will be limited to 512 GB and 1 TB.

More importantly, Vmall gives us the first look at the Mate 70 series design. The phone features a large circular camera bump on the rear, accented by a faint gold-finished ring.

It includes four camera openings, likely housing a main camera, an ultra-wide, and a telephoto lens, while the fourth may serve as a depth sensor for improved bokeh shots.

Huawei opens pre-orders for Mate 70 series, reveals designCompared to the Mate 60, the camera bump appears noticeably thicker. The image also reveals a side profile with familiar rounded edges and a curved back panel, seemingly contradicting earlier rumors about a shift to a flat-frame design. The rear panel also seems to have a textured finish.

Upcoming Garmin Instinct 3 Smartwatch Leaked with Solar Charging

Garmin is apparently gearing up to launch a new smartwatch from its Instinct lineup. The Garmin Instinct 3 was just spotted in a new leak, confirming details like solar fast charging and repair costs. So here’s everything you need to know about this new smart wearable.

Garmin Instinct 3: What’s special about this smartwatch?

Garming’s upcoming Instinct 3 smartwatch recently surfaced on a support page on the brand’s website. This listing revealed its repair costs as well. The leak also confirms that the solar charging feature is returning on one version of the wearable. To recall, the Instinct 2 launched back in 2022 with this same feature on its Solar variant. The Instinct Solar 3 was spotted on the Garmin website in Spain, which listed it on a support page (Via NotebookCheck).

Based on what we know so far, there is a 45mm variant that will launch in black with the model number 010-02934-00. This variant also has a repair cost of 133.33 Euros. To recall, the Instinct 2 Solar had a repair cost of 128.57 Euros. In other words, the next gen Garmin Instinct 3 is likely getting a price hike. Last year’s Instinct 2 cost 449.99 US Dollars on launch, so the Instinct 3 might be hitting the 500 US Dollar price mark.

Unfortunately, the exact size variants of the Garmin Instinct 3 is still at large. But there might be a 40mm, 45mm, and 50mm opinion as well. Garmin could also launch a non solar variant alongside the solar charging version. The upcoming smartwatch will likely launch in early 2025 in multiple color options. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment, so take the release timeline with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates.

iQOO Neo10 series offers the slimmest bezel in Neo lineup’s history

iQOO is set to launch its Neo10 series on November 29 in China, pushing boundaries in design and performance within the mid-range segment. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed key details about the devices, including their chipset and color options. The latest teaser highlights the design and in-hand experience.

Slim yet powerful: Neo10 series design and features

The iQOO Neo10 series achieves an impressive balance between design and functionality. With a thickness starting from 7.99mm and a weight of 199g, the iQOO Neo10 series manages to be slimmer than its predecessor while accommodating a larger 6,100mAh battery. For context, the Neo9 series measured 8.0mm or 8.3mm thick and weighed 190g or 196g, depending on the back material.

The Neo10 series introduces a new “floating window” design for its camera lenses, further enhancing its sleek aesthetics. Additionally, the Neo10 features a bezel width of just 1.4mm on the left and right, giving it the slimmest borders in the Neo lineup. Most notably, these design improvements are achieved without sacrificing performance or battery life, likely thanks to the silicon carbon anode battery technology.

The Neo10 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset while the Neo10 equips Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Both models are paired with iQOO’s self-developed Q2 gaming chip, ensuring exceptional gaming performance and efficiency. The series also supports 120W private protocol flash charging, 100W PPS protocol fast charging, and a direct-drive power supply. These advancements allow the larger battery to charge quickly without adding bulk, offering an ideal balance of power and portability.

As for the display, both models come with 8T LTPO panels for efficient visuals and feature ultrasonic fingerprint scanners for “one-swipe unlocking”. This is also an upgrade from the optical fingerprint scanner of the iQOO Neo9 series.

Compared to last year’s Neo9 series, which featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity 9300 chipsets, the Neo10 lineup offers significant upgrades in performance and efficiency.

UBLIVES Compression Recovery Boots: They Are Truly Awesome For Pain Relief

I did a body assessment one week ago, it says my body fat rate was about 20%, not something I am proud of, and I guess I need to workout more. Anyway, when it comes to increasing workout intensity or frequency, it also comes with a higher risk of damaging your body, so we need to do warm-up and post-workout recovery. That’s why I have a massage gun and a baseball, to release pain or soreness post-workout.

In this review, we are going to talk about the UBLIVES air compression boots. This kind of product is not new, you might have seen pro athletes using them, I still had doubts about how well they work, but after using them a couple of times, I think they are awesome! After reading this review, if you like them, you can head to their website for your purchase, there is a certain discount and free Hyperbag for Gizmochina fans.

How It Works

To be honest, this is the first time that I have used them. So how does it work anyway? I am no sports scientist or anything, correct me if I am wrong. You know blood tends to stick longer in the areas, where they have been used a lot during workouts, to help cure wear and tear, or take the free radicals and lactate away with the blood flow. That’s why the body swells, and tends to get a bit warmer. If you don’t understand it, you can try to put your ring on your finger after a workout, it may become a bit harder to, and that’s the sign of this.

Now we use a massage gun, a roller, or a ball to put pressure on the muscles, to make the process faster, therefore you can recover faster. This theory applies to the compression boots here, air is used to create pressure, then push the bad stuff to go with the blood flow faster. Theoretically it can work, right? Not let’s check out the packaging stuff first, then I will tell you why they really work.

Unboxing

As you can see, they come in this regular shoe box size packaging, and I like the little boot art on it. Open the box, there is another nice white box, so I guess it could be a good gift for your family and friends, especially for your parents. Now back to the products, the boots and two air pump units are there. When I take the air pump unit out, I know this one is actually wireless, which means you can use these boots wherever you want, very convenient. As a FDA-approved class II medical device, I think it is still important to read the manual before using them, so we all should do it.

Design and Material

The boots are made of this reinforced material on the outside, and the stitches are doubled at some corners, so I think it is very durable. I can’t see the airbags inside, but based on my experience, there was no leak at all, so they are also well-made. I can feel some pipes running through the boots, and connect each section to the unit separately. There are also hooks on the upper side, so you can hang them on the wall.

The air pump unit is a solid piece, the screen and the buttons are simple and very functional. At the back, those holes are supposed to get the air into the boots. The mechanism that locks the unit on is very clever, a simple click or press at both sides will put them on and off. And the unit charges itself through a USB-C port. Overall, the design is neat and flawless.

The whole set weighs about 7.3 lbs or 3.3 kg, they are definitely lighter than I imagined, and certainly won’t add too much weight to your backpack. If you do workout a lot, there won’t be any problem taking them with you, I would also suggest you get this dedicated bag for them, to make carrying them easier.

Test

Now I haven’t tortured my legs for a long time, and since we are testing these boots, I thought it would be a perfect time to see if they can save my legs post-workout, so I hit the gym in the morning again.

As you can see, it’s pretty easy to put them on, either you slide your legs in, or unzip them to make it easier. Now there are five sections in total, which cover your thigh, knee, upper calf, lower calf, and foot.

There isn’t any left and right difference about the air pump units, as long as you can see the buttons and screen. The buttons are very clearly designed, including the pressure up and down, timer, power on and off, and mode change. The screen is bright and simple, so everybody including the elderly can read them correctly.

Now the length of the boots is actually perfect for me, I am 5’7, and the boots cover my entire legs and maybe even a bit more room to spare. So for the sports recovery purpose, according to the user manual, it’s recommended to use the Circulation Mode, which will inflate two sections at the same time, then rotate in between, I think it makes a lot of sense. And the pressure I chose was the 4th mode, pressure level 135mmgH. I tried the 5th mode, which provides 165mmgH pressure, it creates a bit of a pinching feel to my legs, which I am not sure if it is right, so 4th level is good for me.

During the whole process, I feel the massage force the most in the knee and thigh area, and it feels really good. Compared to the recovery tools I mentioned earlier, these boots are more consistent in massaging force, and they cover more areas at the same time. Also just to quickly mention that, there isn’t an App for this product, which is fine with me, as I don’t need to deal with those if something serves a purpose like this, and you can do them all by pressing the buttons.

After a 20mins of use, I felt really relieved, the soreness and burning were pretty much gone. Although I know that those will not disappear so soon, so I used them another two times.

So how do I feel after 3 times of use in two days? The results are surprisingly good. Usually the pain kicks in the next day after the workout, but it was really not that intolerable this time, I can pretty much walk properly, and I can even walk up and down the stairs much easier than before.

The battery life in the air pump units are also very long, based on my experience, I think they can support at least a week of use, and you can charge them with any USB-C cable you have.

Here I also have some advice for some of you who want to get these. First, I would recommend using them while you are lying on the couch or bed, as once the devices are inflated, you won’t be able to move, especially if you use them while sitting on a chair, your hip will feel numb after use. Second, keep the air pump units facing outwards, so the buttons won’t bump into each other to cause the device to stop or any other changes.

Besides the circulation mode, I also tried the Sequence Mode and Whole Mode, they are more for daily relaxation, but they can also be good after you go on hiking, or just a quick 20mins massage after work. In those two modes, the air pressure is also very strong and it works fast. It is just like stretching, which increase blood flow and release soreness, but they covers more areas at the same time. Also it is very quiet, you can’t really hear anything when it’s working. Even for elderly people, who often feel tired, or even have varicosity issues, it will help with the blood flow a lot, so it is a good gift for them.

Verdict

So after using these compression boots for a week, I would say these are genuinely great products. They helped me with the pain and soreness after workouts, and also it released the stiffness from sitting for a long day at work. You don’t need to really schedule for it, a quick 20mins of use during tea break will fuel your day a lot. So it is definitely a worthy health investment. To be honest, after some research, these UBLIVES boots are a lot cheaper than other brands, while the build quality and functionalities are even better than most. If you want to purchase these, there is a link here, they are also offering some discounts and carrying bags for Gizmochina fans, so don’t miss out!

Motorola is making a strong comeback in the Indian smartphone market

Motorola smartphone

Motorola is gaining momentum in the Indian smartphone market. According to the latest data from IDC, the American company had a 5.7% share in the third quarter of 2024 in the Indian smartphone market. Last year, it was 2.4% for the same quarter. That’s a massive 149.5% growth, which no other smartphone brand had in the same period.

Vivo currently leads the Indian smartphone market with a 15.8% share in the third quarter of 2024, followed by Oppo with a 13.9% market share, and Samsung with a 12.3% market share. Apple is at 6th position with an 8.6% market share.

After Motorola, iQOO had the biggest jump of 101.4% in 3Q 2024 (compared to 3Q 2023) with a market share of 4.2%, but it is still behind Motorola. OnePlus is having a tough time, though. It declined from 6.2% to 3.6%, registering a 39.3% loss. OnePlus has also fallen behind Motorola in the Indian smartphone market.

Indian smartphone market share (Q3 2024) - IDC

Earlier this year, Prashanth Mani, executive director, mobile business group at Lenovo Asia Pacific, revealed that the company grew 100% by volume, the same in 2023, and is expected to continue the streak this year as well. The company had a 5% market share in 2023, and it’s projecting to double that to 8-10% this year. Even though it seems difficult at this point, its growth in the last few quarters has been impressive.

Motorola has recently fixed one of its biggest problems holding people back from getting a Motorola phone. It had a terrible software update policy. The brand offered only three Android upgrades, and that too, was only limited to high-end phones. The entry-level phones were hardly getting a single Android update.

Three Android upgrades are just unacceptable at a time when Google and Samsung are offering up to seven Android updates to their phones. Motorola has learned its lessons, though, and has recently started offering five Android upgrades to its new phones. First was the Motorola Edge Neo launched in September, and then this new software policy expanded to multiple phones launched thereafter.

Motorola is eyeing a top-three spot in India. While that’s a long way to go, the brand should be happy with the impressive growth it’s witnessing, and new buyers should be pleased with the extended software support.
