Samsung appears to be making significant shifts with its in-house Exynos chips, reportedly looking to use Snapdragon processors in a wider variety of products. Previous reports have already hinted at the use of Snapdragon and Dimensity flagship chipsets for the upcoming Galaxy flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25 series.

Now a report from South Korean media SEDaily suggests that Samsung’s home appliances may also adopt Qualcomm chips in the near future.

For Samsung’s home appliances, shifting to Snapdragon processors is expected to enhance the AI capabilities of the products, especially as the demand grows for smarter and more connected devices. For instance, the AI in the latest Samsung refrigerator uses a camera to identify ingredients and recommend recipes. To make this AI function more advanced, the support of cutting-edge chips is essential.

This is apparently something difficult to achieve with the Exynos chips Samsung has used in its home appliances in the past. On the other hand, Qualcomm provides the efficiency and NPU capability needed for the implementation of these AI features.

Yoo Mi-young, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ home appliance division, once said: “We are developing products with the goal of launching home appliances that use large-scale language models on devices (that is, edge AI) in 2025. We are developing our own low-power, high-performance neural network processing unit (NPU) chips. Multiple organizations are conducting research.”

This potential move is primarily due to performance gaps and production challenges with Samsung’s Exynos chips. Initially expected to power the S25 series, the Exynos 2500’s production reportedly faces yield issues, with difficulties in producing chips at scale that meet Samsung’s quality standards. Recently, it received approval from the TENAA certification agency in China, confirming its key specifications.

During the above-mentioned period, customers can purchase the Magic Box for Rs 99 and receive a guaranteed reward of 50,000 Oppo points. Additionally, they will have a chance to win a free Find X8 5G coupon. The campaign is divided into two rounds.

In Round 1, if Oppo sells 3,000 Magic Boxes by Nov. 3, selected participants who purchased the box between Oct. 25 and Nov. 3 will receive a link on WhatsApp on Nov. 4 to claim the free phone coupon.
