Oppo Reno 12F camera details emerge, gets certified in multiple markets

Oppo has recently launched the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones in China. The global market will likely announce the Reno 12 duo in June or July. Reports have revealed that the standard model has the CPH2625 model number, whereas the Pro variant has the CPH2629 model number. Fresh developments revealed that the brand could also be releasing the Reno 12F 5G in the global market. The reason behind this is that the said device has received certification in multiple markets.

Oppo Reno 12F bags important certifications

The Oppo Reno 12F has the CPH2637 model number. This has been confirmed through important certifications, such as TDRA (UAE) and SIRIM (Malaysia). The same device was previously spotted at Europe’s EEC certification in March.

Image
OPPO CPH2637 BIS certified

As seen above, India’s BIS authority has also approved the device. The device may carry the Reno 12F moniker in Europe, but it may arrive with a different name in the Indian market.

The Reno 12F has been added to the Camera FV-5’s database. The listing revealed that it may feature a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture and 4mm focal length. On the front, it may have a 50-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 3.2mm focal length. Unfortunately, there is no information about the other specs of the device.

In March, Oppo unveiled the Oppo F25 Pro in India. It debuted as a rebranded version of the Reno 11F in other countries. Therefore, it is likely that India will rebadge the Reno 12F as the Oppo F27 Pro. While the Reno 12F has received multiple certifications, it may launch six months after the Reno 11F, which debuted in February. Hence, 12F is likely to go official in July.

Redmi 13C 5G vs Redmi 12 5G: Which is a better budget 5G smartphone?

Xiaomi released the Redmi 13C 5G and Redmi 12 5G smartphones a while back. Both cater to a similar audience seeking a budget-friendly entry into the 5G world. But which one offers the better value proposition? Let’s break down the key differences to help you decide.

Redmi 12 5G vs Redmi 13C 5G

1. Design and Display

Both phones boast a sleek design with flat edges and a glass-like rear panel. The Redmi 12 5G offers a minimalist aesthetic with Jade Black and Pastel Blue color options. The Redmi 13C, on the other hand, stands out with its flashy, glittery color choices.

Redmi 13C

The latter also features a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera, while the Redmi 12 opts for a contemporary punch-hole design. The 13C also lacks the infrared transmitter found in the Redmi 12 which some users may find useful.

In terms of display, both of them feature an IPS LCD display but the Redmi 12 takes the lead with a larger 6.79-inch screen compared to the 6.74-inch display on the Redmi 13C. Additionally, the Redmi 12 5G has a Full HD+ resolution compared to the HD+ display on the other. This translates to a more visually immersive experience on the Redmi 12 5G due to its higher-resolution panel.

2. Performance

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor powers the Redmi 12 5G, while the Redmi 13C 5G runs on the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

The 4 Gen 3 has superior two Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz while the remaining six Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.95 GHz. On the other hand, the Helio G85 has a core architecture of two Cortex-A75 cores (@ 2.0GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores (@ 1.8GHz).

So benchmark scores and real-world testing will reveal that the Redmi 12 5G will deliver superior performance thanks to the more powerful Snapdragon processor. Nonetheless, both the SoCs are paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

3. Camera and Others

In terms of cameras, the Redmi 12 5G sports a 50MP primary camera with a 2MP depth sensor, while the Redmi 13C 5G features a 50MP AI main camera.

They both deliver average camera performance since these are not camera-oriented devices. Selfies and video calls are handled by an 8MP sensor.

Keeping all this powered is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging. The Redmi 12 5G includes a bundled 22.5W charger, while the Redmi 13C 5G provides a 10W charger. .

4. Price

In India, the Redmi 13C 5G starts at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB+128GB model, with the 6GB+128GB variant priced at Rs 12,499 and the top-end 8GB+256GB version at Rs 14,999.

The Redmi 12 5G starts slightly higher at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB+128GB model, with the 6GB+128GB variant priced at Rs 13,499 and the 8GB+256GB version at Rs 15,499.

5. Verdict

The Redmi 12 5G emerges as the better choice for several reasons. It boasts a superior display with a higher resolution, delivers more powerful performance thanks to the Snapdragon processor and includes a faster bundled charger.  However, the Redmi 13C 5G might appeal to those who are looking for a slightly lower starting price for a 5G phone.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual priorities and budget. If you prioritize performance, display quality, and faster charging, the Redmi 12 5G is the clear winner. However, if you’re on a tighter budget and want a 5G phone for all the essentials, the Redmi 13C 5G is still a viable option.

As you can see, the Z Fold 5 has more rounded edges, while the Fold 6 features a boxier design similar to Samsung’s latest S-flagships. Although the tipster suggests that the rendering isn’t completely accurate, it shows the expected changes in the upcoming foldable.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 vs Fold 5 Back

As for the specs, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and feature a slightly larger battery. The phone will likely retain the same camera system as the Z Fold 5 but may offer an IPX8 rating for water resistance and 25W fast charging.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship foldable is also rumored to come with a titanium frame and Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Additionally, it could boast a generous seven years of Android OS and security updates, further extending its lifespan.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be officially unveiled on July 10, 2024, at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris.

Free ChatGPT Users Now Have Access to Custom GPTs Created by Other Users

Free ChatGPT users received a significant boost in early May with the introduction of GPT-4o features. These new features allow them to:

  • Explore a World of Custom GPTs: Discover and use custom versions of ChatGPT created by other users. These can range from creative tools like on-demand thesauruses to practical assistants like Ikea shopping guides. It’s important to note that creating custom GPTs remains exclusive to paid subscribers.
  • Uncover Insights from Charts: Connect your OneDrive or Google Drive data to ChatGPT for faster analysis and creation of personalized charts.
  • Ask Questions About Photos: While specifics are limited, this likely means you can upload photos and receive insights or complete tasks related to the image.

These features, previously reserved for paid tiers (ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Enterprise), are now accessible to everyone using the free version of ChatGPT. However, there are still advantages to paying for a subscription:

  • Unlimited Conversations: Free users will encounter limitations on the number of messages or conversations they can have using GPT-4o features. Once they reach this limit, they’ll automatically switch back to the earlier GPT-3.5 model.
  • Potential for More Features: Paid plans likely offer additional features or customization options beyond what’s available in the free tier.
