Artificial intelligence technologies is becoming increasingly popular, with companies integrating it into their services and applications. ChatGPT is currently the leader in this field, but Google is emerging as a strong contender. Google recently integrated AI into Gmail and services like Docs, and is now introducing “Google Assistant with Bard,” a new integration of Google Assistant with its generative AI chatbot. Here are the details…

Unveiling the Bard-Enhanced Google Assistant, Next-Gen AI Experience

Google Assistant has been a part of our Android phones since 2016. Over the past seven years, it has gained many features. Now, with AI chatbot technology, it’s reaching a whole new dimension. Google has been trying to integrate Bard into this technology for some time. For those who may not know, Bard can generate text, translate languages, write various types of creative content, and answer your questions informatively.

Google Assistant with Bard is still under development, but it promises to bring a number of new capabilities to Google Assistant. With Bard’s help, talking to Google Assistant will feel more like chatting with a friend. Bard knows how to talk and understand like humans do. This means smoother, friendlier conversations with our devices. Bard isn’t just about friendly talk, it’s also super smart too.

It can dive deep into topics and give answers that aren’t just right but also helpful. Imagine asking a question and getting an answer that feels like it’s coming from a wise friend. One of the most exciting things is Bard’s talent for creating. It can come up with poems, help with writing code, or even think of story ideas. So, Google Assistant won’t just answer questions. It might even help with your homework or next big project.

A select group is currently testing Google Assistant with Bard, and we might try it soon based on their feedback. Here’s your first look at Google Assistant with Bard

Google Assistant is currently the best virtual assistant on the market. But Google is aiming to make it even smarter by integrating the generative AI capabilities of Bard, a large language model that can generate and reason with text, voice, and images.

The new assistant, called simply “Assistant with Bard,” will be able to help users with a variety of tasks, including planning trips, finding emails, creating lists, and writing social posts. Users will be able to interact with Assistant with Bard through text, voice, or images.

Assistant with Bard will also be contextually aware, meaning that it will be able to use the input from the sensors in an Android device, such as the camera, voice input, or presence detection, to understand the user’s intent and provide relevant responses.

For example, on Pixel devices, users can pop up Assistant with Bard on top of a photo to get contextual assistance with personal tasks, such as asking it to write a social caption.

Google says that Assistant with Bard will be integrated with some of the Google services that users already use, such as Gmail and Docs, making it easier to stay on top of the most important things in their lives.

For example, users can ask Assistant with Bard to “Catch me up on any important emails I missed this week” to get a rundown on the key emails they need to know about.

The company also announced that the Pixel 8 Pro is the first phone to run the company’s foundation AI models directly on the device. This means that the device will be able to run generative AI with up to 150 times more computations than the largest machine learning (ML) model on Pixel 7. This will lead to improved AI experiences on Pixel 8 Pro, such as an improved magic eraser feature that can help users remove large objects and people without smudging their photos.

Assistant with Bard is still in early development, so the company is rolling it out to a limited group of testers to get feedback before releasing it to the public in the next few months. This means that most of us will need to wait a while to use these features.

Artificial intelligence is becoming more and more popular. People in many different professions use AI chatbots to make their daily tasks easier. Right now, OpenAI’s ChatGPT is the leading on the market. However, that’s about to change. Google’s AI, Bard, which was released as a rival to ChatGPT, just got its biggest update yet and it got a lot smarter. Here are the details about Google Bard 2.0…

Now You Can Listen to Responses, Adjust Tone, Share Conversations on Google Bard

Google Bard has just received its biggest update yet. The update includes new features that allow users to listen to AI’s responses, adjust the tone and style of Bard’s responses, pin and rename conversations, use images in prompts, and share Bard responses. The update also expands Bard’s availability to most of the world and in the most widely spoken languages. This means that more people will be able to use Bard to explore their curiosity, augment their imagination, and get their ideas off the ground.

Google Bard is an innovative and versatile platform developed by Google that revolutionizes the world of creative writing. With its advanced natural language processing capabilities, Google Bard provides writers with a powerful tool for crafting compelling and engaging content. It offers a wide range of features, including intelligent suggestions for rhymes, synonyms, and word choices, helping users enhance their writing skills and unlock their creative potential. In an attempt to go up against the likes of more popular chatbots such as ChatGPT and Bing Chat, the company is introducing new updates to Bard, and the latest one is aimed towards getting more relevant responses out of Bard.

Google Bard also got updated with some UI enhancements with the new upgrade

Following a series of significant updates in May, Google Bard is kicking off June by introducing support for precise location, enabling users to receive more relevant responses tailored to their immediate surroundings. This new feature leverages a combination of information from users’ Google Account’s Home and Work addresses, their IP address, and their device’s precise location to deliver personalized and location-specific search results. With this update, Google Bard aims to enhance the overall search experience, providing users with highly targeted information about their local area and enabling them to make more informed decisions. Similar to how Google Search operates, this update will prompt users to grant the necessary location permission within their browser or device settings.

The latest update to Google Bard introduces not only precise location support but also includes several user interface enhancements. Located in the bottom-left corner of the Bard interface, users can find a light/dark theme button. Furthermore, Bard now displays the user’s current city along with an explanation of how it is derived, providing an interesting insight into the underlying algorithms. Users can easily update their location by tapping on the “Update location” option if they initially dismissed the prompt.

This recent addition of precise location support to Google Bard follows a string of updates that have been rolled out to enhance the overall user experience. Just last week, Bard introduced image support, allowing users to receive visual responses alongside text-based information. Additionally, during the I/O 2023 conference, Google showcased a range of new features and previews, indicating its commitment to continual innovation and advancement.

Language models can help with coding by providing assistance in writing code, generating code snippets, and even debugging code. They can also provide explanations for why certain blocks of code produce a particular output, which can be incredibly helpful for those who are just starting to learn programming. Additionally, language models can analyze existing code and suggest ways to optimize it for efficiency and speed. With their ability to process vast amounts of data and generate highly accurate predictions, language models are becoming an increasingly powerful tool for programmers and developers. As per recent reports, Google has integrated coding capabilities into its AI chatbot, Bard.

Bard will support Java, Python, Javascript, C++ and more

The tech giant has equipped Bard with the ability to generate, debug, and explain code in 20 programming languages, including Java, Python, JavaScript, and C++. Moreover, Bard can integrate with Google’s other products, such as Colab and Sheets. Aside from generating code, Bard can provide explanations for code snippets and assist with debugging. While it can optimize existing code, Google advises testing Bard’s output since it may be incomplete or produce unexpected results.

Bard’s programming capabilities could be a valuable resource, especially for beginners, as it explains how and why certain code produces a particular output. Google opened up access to its AI chatbot earlier this year, but it still has a long way to go before reaching ChatGPT‘s level of popularity. Google continues to improve Bard in various ways, using its new language model, PaLM, to power recent upgrades. The company has also created an “experiment updates” page to track the chatbot’s changes as it adds new features and performs bug fixes. Bard’s recent programming capabilities show how Google is continually developing AI to make life easier for its users, and its integration with other Google products makes it an attractive resource for those seeking programming assistance.

Google has long dominated the search engine arena, with a market share that exceeds 90% in most countries. This level of dominance has raised concerns about the company’s monopoly power, with some critics suggesting that it could stifle competition and harm consumers. Despite various antitrust investigations and lawsuits, Google remains the most widely used search engine worldwide, with billions of searches conducted on its platform every day. However, this may be the first instance in a long, long time when the search engine giant would have to worry about its market position, as Samsung may have considered making Bing its preferred search engine instead of Google.

Microsoft’s Bing has been playing catch-up to Google for years, but the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT’s technology into Bing has made it smarter than ever before. This spells a huge threat to Google, which failed to launch its own AI, Bard, in a spectacular way as compared to ChatGPT. The news about Samsung adopting Bing reportedly caused Google employees to enter panic mode. Google’s contract with Samsung currently earns the company an annual estimated revenue of $3 billion, and losing Samsung could result in missing out on an annual revenue of $20 billion if Apple follows suit and also switches to Bing as the default search engine on its devices.

Google is responding by accelerating its own AI technologies, with recently unveiled plans to offer a new AI-powered search engine that offers a more personalized experience than the existing one. Although Bard, Google’s own chatbot, has not been received as well as ChatGPT, the company remains obsessed with modernizing its search engine experience, which was worth $162 billion in 2022. In this rapidly evolving race of AI-oriented search engines, Google seems to be firing at all fronts, only because the competition has racked up a number of strong points as well. Time will tell if Google excels in this race, or is left behind, thanks to OpenAI‘s ChatGPT.

Google Search has been the dominant force in the search engine market for decades, but the emergence of advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT may pose a serious threat to the tech giant. With Microsoft already incorporating AI chat into its Bing search engine, Google has some catching up to do. In a recent interview, Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed that a Google Search AI chatbot is in the works, but many questions remain unanswered. Here are the details…

Google Confirms AI Chatbot for Search is in Development, But When?

During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Pichai confirmed the development of a AI Search chatbot, stating that users will “absolutely” be able to ask questions and engage with language learning models in the context of search. However, Pichai refrained from providing further information, such as a timeline for the rollout or whether this chatbot would be based on Google Bard, which debuted in March.

The competitive landscape has shifted as AI chatbots gain traction in the search engine market. Microsoft’s Bing already includes an AI chatbot, while ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, has become a significant contender in the space. Google needs to move quickly to maintain its dominant position.

As Google’s primary revenue stream, Search generated $162 billion in 2021. A loss of market share to AI chatbots or even Bing, which has often been the subject of ridicule, could have severe financial consequences for the company. The development of a Google Search AI chatbot is crucial to combat these challenges, making it one of the most significant threats Google has faced in its history.

While CEO Sundar Pichai has confirmed the company is working on a Search AI chatbot, the lack of details leaves many questions unanswered. As AI chatbots continue to reshape the search engine landscape, Google must move quickly to maintain its dominance and protect its revenue. With competitors like Bing and ChatGPT already making strides, Google’s next move in the world of AI will be closely watched by industry insiders and users alike.

Artificial intelligence is becoming more and more important every day. The situation is so critical that even Google, a long-standing leader in Silicon Valley, is at risk of its future. ChatGPT has even managed to outdo most search engines and make many websites unnecessary (NOT Gizmochina) . However, the technology giant is aware of the danger and is taking steps to address it. According to recent reports, the company is restructuring its virtual assistant unit to focus on its AI chatbot, Bard. Here are the details…

Google restructures virtual assistant team to focus more on Bard

Google is restructuring its virtual assistant team to Bard. This move was announced by Sissie Hsiao, the vice president and lead of Google Assistant’s business unit. One of the primary reasons behind this reshuffling is the company’s focus on Bard. This AI chatbot is Google’s answer to ChatGPT, and the company has big plans for its development. To achieve this goal, it is enlisting the help of its virtual assistant unit.

The company wants to integrate Bard into all of its products, including Nest smart speakers, Pixel phones, and Android Auto. This suggests that Google may have significant plans for Bard and Google Assistant in the future. As part of the reshuffling, Jianchang Mao, vice president of engineering for Google Assistant, who reported directly to Hsiao, is leaving the company for “personal reasons”.

He will be replaced by Peeyush Ranjan, the former vice president of Google’s commerce organization. Meanwhile, Amar Subramanya, Google Assistant engineering vice president, is now leading the engineering efforts for the Bard team. Trevor Strohman, who was previously in charge of leading these engineering efforts, will continue as an “Area Tech Lead” for Bard.

The restructuring and increased focus on Bard underscore the growing importance of AI and chatbots in today’s technology landscape. As Google continues to push the boundaries of AI, it is clear that the company sees Bard as a key part of its future.

The AI wars are in full swing as companies scramble to respond to the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Google has recently introduced its AI chatbot, Bard, as a competitor in the field. However, allegations of intellectual theft have emerged, with claims that Google copied the technology from Microsoft-owned OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Google has now responded to these allegations. Here are the details…

Google denies it copied ChatGPT to train its own AI chatbot Bard

The allegations were sparked by a report in The Information, which claimed that ChatGPT’s success has prompted two AI research teams within Alphabet, Google’s parent company, to set aside their intense rivalry and collaborate. The report stated that engineers from Google’s Brain AI group are working alongside employees at DeepMind, a sibling company within Alphabet, on a joint effort called Gemini. This collaboration reportedly began after Google’s initial attempt to compete with OpenAI’s chatbot through Bard stumbled.

In a conversation with The Verge, a Google spokesperson refuted these allegations, stating, “Bard is not trained on any data from ShareGPT or ChatGPT.” Google has also announced the early access release of Bard as an experimental collaboration with generative AI for users. Bard’s early access is currently available in the United States and the United Kingdom, with plans to expand its availability to more countries and languages. Like its competitors OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, Bard is based on a large language model (LLM). It employs a lightweight and optimized version of LaMDA, which Google has confirmed will be updated with newer, more capable models in the future.

Users can interact with Bard by asking questions and refining their responses through follow-up questions. This interactive approach will allow users to explore the capabilities of Google’s AI chatbot and provide valuable feedback for future development. Despite allegations of copying ChatGPT, Google remains committed to its independent development and providing a unique AI chatbot experience for its users. The company has taken a firm stance against the accusations and continues to invest in the evolution of its own AI technology.

As the race for computational language models becomes more cutthroat, tech companies are gearing up to unveil their own contenders in the arena. Recently, Google announced its latest conversational AI chatbot, Bard, in an effort to compete with its rivals, such as Microsoft, ChatGPT, and Bing. Although the launch of Bard has not yet taken place, unlike the newly launched New Bing with ChatGPT and the continuously improving OpenAI chatbot, Google is making progress. As reported by 9to5Google, an email has been sent to Google Pixel Superfans, inviting them to use Bard before its official release to the public.

According to the email, Bard is an early experiment by Google that allows users to collaborate with generative AI. The Pixel Superfan community members have been offered early access to Bard, providing them with a head start and the opportunity to offer their feedback before it becomes available to the rest of the public. Google acknowledges that, while large language models such as Bard are not always accurate, input from a diverse range of experts and users will help improve the chatbot, since machine learning will help improve on the datasets for such models.

To clarify, the Pixel Superfans program is a Google-run community comprising passionate Pixel users who want to share their love for all things Pixel with like-minded individuals. Google invites potential Pixel Superfans to join the community, which provides them with exclusive access to special events, perks, a private discussion group, and an opportunity to belong to a community of Pixel enthusiasts. However, to join, one must receive an invitation from Google, be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and preferably own a Pixel device.

Google has reportedly been testing Bard with its employees to identify and correct any errors the AI chatbot may produce. By granting similar access to Pixel Superfans, they can further “train” Bard to enhance its ability to respond to queries correctly. It’s worth noting that Bing has significantly benefited from integrating ChatGPT with its mobile and desktop search engine, reaching over 100 million active daily users earlier this month. It’s possible that Google perceives this as a potential threat, which could explain why they’re expediting Bard’s release.

Google has been working to catch up to OpenAI since the release of ChatGPT, which took the generative AI industry by storm. After the underwhelming response to its first attempt at a conversational bot, Bard AI, Google has announced a new approach: adding AI features to all of its Workspace products, much like it did with social features during the Google+ era. These features will allow users to draft, reply, summarize, prioritize emails, brainstorm, proofread, write, and rewrite text documents, autogenerate images and even video with Slides, have Sheets create formulas autonomously, automate transcription notes in Meet, and enable workflows in Chat. For example, users can type the subject of their assignment into Docs and Google’s generative AI suite will quickly generate additional text. The Rewrite function can also rework existing content, even if it’s just bullet points. The new “I’m feeling lucky” option in Gmail is another addition to the suite.

Following the Bard debacle, Google has doubled down on its commitment to ensuring that its AIs are not like Microsoft‘s. The company is building its products within the bounds of its AI Principles, which are legally binding like its old “Don’t be evil” motto. Johanna Voolich Wright, VP of Product at Google Workspace, emphasized that “AI is no replacement for the ingenuity, creativity, and smarts of real people,” and that the company’s AI-enabled Workspace suite requires guidance to function correctly. The suite is expected to roll out to English language users in the US by the end of the month, with additional languages and regions arriving in the near future.

However, some concerns have been raised about the implications of Google’s new approach. Critics worry that the over-reliance on AI could lead to a decrease in the quality of work, with users becoming overly dependent on AI-generated content. Others argue that the company’s AI Principles are not enough to ensure that AI is used ethically and responsibly. Regardless, it is clear that Google is betting big on AI, and the company’s new approach could have significant implications for the future of work and productivity.

Google recently announced Bard, an AI chatbot that will rival ChatGPT. Everyone was eagerly awaiting the company’s new technology. However, what happened during the launch disappointed everyone. The whole world saw that the US technology giant was behind OpenAI in the field of artificial intelligence, and Bard was not ready yet. Lastly, in an attempt to turn the situation around, CEO Sundar Pichai sent a memo to all his employees, asking them to take two to four hours out of their day to make its search AI actually usable. Here are the details…

Google’s CEO Tells Staff to Spend Hours Working Out ‘Bard’ AI Kinks

Following the disastrous wrong answer from Bard, Google’s shares fell, and the company lost $100 billion in value. In the field of artificial intelligence, which everyone considers the future, Google lagged behind, and it wants to change that. Therefore, the new plan is to direct all employees to the artificial intelligence project. According to a leaked internal email, Google is asking all of its employees to spend two to four hours of their day testing Google’s “Bard” AI, the same system the company plans to integrate into its chat function.

In the email he sent, Pichai emphasized the importance of working together and asked his employees to contribute to the development of artificial intelligence. He stated, “Next week, we’ll be enlisting every Googler to help shape Bard and contribute through a special company-wide ‘dogfooding’ program.” “Dogfooding” is a term used within companies to refer to a practice that involves using one’s own product before launching it. He added, “We’re looking forward to receiving all of your feedback — in the spirit of an internal hackathon.

Unfortunately, we do not have information such as the entire email and how many Google employees received it. Although the company recently announced 12,000 job cuts to its global workforce, Google, excluding its parent company Alphabet, still employs over 170,000 people worldwide. Of course, not all of these employees are suitable for the job, but a significant number of them are software developers.

Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots are becoming increasingly common day by day. The process, which started with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, has nearly caused the internet to change and reshape. In an attempt to catch up with this fast-moving trend, Google recently announced its own chatbot, Bard. While many people expect ChatGPT to be replaced by Bard to be the most used AI, artificial intelligence causes $100 billion market loss with incorrect James Webb Telescope answer. Here are the details…

Google’s AI Chatbot Bard Causes $100 Billion Market Loss With Incorrect James Webb Telescope Answer

Google introduced Bard with high hopes and even organized an event to showcase its capabilities. During a live-streamed event, Bard was asked to explain new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old. The AI provided two correct answers that accurately understood the question. However, it made a significant error by claiming that the James Webb Space Telescope was the first to take images of exoplanets, when in reality, the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory was the first to capture an image of an exoplanet in 2004.

Google’s AI chatbot Bard

As you can imagine, when the world was watching closely and Google was expected to demonstrate its power, the error caused a significant loss. Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, saw a loss of $100 billion in market value as a result. Alphabet shares also declined during regular trading, dropping as much as 9%. After hours, they had stabilized their losses somewhat. So, what was the reason for this significant loss of value?

Technology is one of the most volatile business sectors in the world. This industry, which is based on innovation, has caused many companies that could not keep pace with advancements to lose their popularity and become nearly obsolete in the market. Hardly any company has maintained its position at the top since its establishment.

Companies such as Nokia and Motorola have declined to the extent that they have been sold within just a few years. Investors are concerned that Google is losing ground in the wake of the sustained popularity of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The Microsoft-backed AI chatbot has acquired 100 million users just two months after its launch, generating substantial excitement.

When asked the same question about the James Webb Space Telescope’s discoveries (simplified for a 9-year-old), ChatGPT provided a more correct and creative, albeit general, response, emphasizing the telescope’s ability to search for and study exoplanets, observe the birth of stars and galaxies, study dark matter and dark energy, and search for signs of life. It is expected that Google will improve Bard in the future to provide clearer and more accurate answers. However, it is not known whether the company will turn its focus to artificial intelligence-centered answers and throw the search business into the background.

Google has revealed that it will open up this new technology to “trusted testers” before making it available for a wider range of audience or before the public release.

Making the announcement, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, said: “Soon, you’ll see AI-powered features in Search that distill complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-digest formats, so you can quickly understand the big picture and learn more from the web: whether that’s seeking out additional perspectives, like blogs from people who play both piano and guitar, or going deeper on a related topic, like steps to get started as a beginner.”

The development comes after an all-hands meeting was organized at Google where employees raised concerns about the company’s competitive edge in the Artificial Intelligence technology space because of the sudden rise in popularity of ChatGPT. As per the reports, Google’s AI chief, Jeff Dean, responded by saying that the company can suffer reputation risk in providing wrong information, and that’s why it is taking slow and cautious steps before rolling out more AI-based features.

As of now, Google has not revealed more details about Bard and what the technology will actually be capable of, apart from giving a couple of examples. However, we expect to get more information in the upcoming “Google Presents” event, which is scheduled to take place on 8th February in Paris.
