The company&#8217;s big event in China today (Nov. 17) saw the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/17/huawei-watch-gt-runner-arrives-with-a-stylish-lightweight-design-high-end-features/">launch of new smartwatches</a> as well as a brand-new convertible laptop, the<strong> Huawei MateBook E</strong>. If you recall, this isn&#8217;t the first hybrid laptop from the brand. One of the first laptops from Huawei back in 2016, simply called the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2016/02/21/huawei-matebook-laptop-hybrid-official-with-core-m-processor-stylus-more/"> Huawei MateBook was a 2-in-1 laptop</a>. And portability remains one of the biggest selling points of the new MateBook E. Clearly, Huawei is looking to capture the market dominated by the likes of Apple&#8217;s iPad Pro and Microsoft&#8217;s Surface Pro series.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-425692" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-1024x567.png?x10805" alt="Huawei MateBook E" width="696" height="385" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-1024x567.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-300x166.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-768x425.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-696x385.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-1068x591.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134-759x420.png 759w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-182134.png 1113w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<h4><strong>Huawei MateBook E Design</strong></h4>
<p>The Huawei MateBook E is 7.9mm thick and weighs only 709 grams, making it way lighter and portable than traditional laptops. It features a 2560&#215;1600 12.6-inch OLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 600 nits brightness. Much like the MatePad Pro 12.6, the convertible notebook features a 90% screen-to-body ratio, ensuring very thin bezels on all four sides.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-425703" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-1024x726.png?x10805" alt="Huawei Matebook E screen" width="696" height="493" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-1024x726.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-300x213.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-768x545.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-696x494.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-1068x758.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM-592x420.png 592w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-2021-11-17-at-6.20.18-PM.png 1480w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p>Wait, if you are wondering how the MateBook E and the MatePad Pro 12.6 differ, then know that the basic design remains more or less the same but everything else including the processor and software are different. The MateBook E is pricier and way more powerful than the MatePad Pro 12.6. Simply put, the MateBook E is a true 2-in-1 laptop, while the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matepad-pro-12-6-2021/">MatePad Pro 12.6</a> is basically a tablet with a keyboard accessory.</p>

<p>The<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-matebook-e"> Huawei MateBook E</a> comes with a soft-touch finish at the back with two choices for color &#8211; Starry Blue and Nebula Grey. There are two different keyboards being offered, one with a simple kickstand design and another full-sized keyboard with what Huawei calls a rail slide design (translated). The second keyboard accessory comes only with the i7 variants and features a USB-C port along with an adjustable backlight.</p>

<p>As for charging, it comes with a USB-C powered 65W charging adapter, which tops up the battery to around 54% in half an hour. A complete charge takes around 90 minutes. However, the laptop in question will apparently feature a design similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/microsoft-surface/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Microsoft Surface</a> series.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-423129 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-104.png?x10805" alt="Huawei" width="529" height="419" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-104.png 631w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-104-300x238.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screenshot-104-530x420.png 530w" sizes="(max-width: 529px) 100vw, 529px" /></p>
<p>The leak was shared on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website) by @长安数码君. The tipster revealed that the brand is planning to release a new 2 in 1 laptop in China this month. This means that it would be a product similar to the Microsoft Surface. Looking at the leaked image poster, we can see that the upcoming 2 in 1 laptop sports a high screen to body ratio and is a thin and light PC.</p>
<p>The image also revealed other information like a weight of just 709 grams but with a price tag that will be higher than previous <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-matebook-e/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MateBook E</a> 2 in 1 laptops. For those unaware, this is not the first time the company has launched a notebook of this format. Back in 2017, the brand had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/23/huawei-covers-bases-matebook-e-matebook-x-matebook-d/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">first released the first 2 in 1</a> as apart of the new MateBook E series. Furthermore, its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/11/huawei-announces-matebook-e-2019-powered-by-snapdragon-850/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">successor</a> was released in China in 2019.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-423130 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/69744744ly1gw339fm30dj20yc1pzwld.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei" width="360" height="650" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/69744744ly1gw339fm30dj20yc1pzwld.jpg 360w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/69744744ly1gw339fm30dj20yc1pzwld-166x300.jpg 166w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/69744744ly1gw339fm30dj20yc1pzwld-233x420.jpg 233w" sizes="(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px" /></p>
<p>Now, it like a newer generation will be launching later this month. Unfortunately, finer details regarding this laptop like its specifications is unknown as of right now. Although, we do know that it would reportedly be launching on 17th November 2021 for a price of 7,088 Yuan (roughly 1,100 US Dollars).</p>

<h4><strong>MateBook E</strong></h4>
<p>The MateBook E is the real successor to last year&#8217;s model. It is the competitor to Microsoft&#8217;s Surface Pro and Samsung&#8217;s Galaxy Book. The 2-in-1 race just got hotter.</p>
<p>The MateBook E is just 6.9mm thick and has a 12-inch 2K touch-screen display with a 160° viewing angle. There are two versions: one with a 7th Gen Intel Core M3-7Y30 processor and the other will have a Core i5-7Y54 processor. Both will have Intel&#8217;s HD Graphics 615. Memory configuration is either 4GB or 8GB, and SSD storage starts at 128GB and maxes out at 512GB.</p>
<p>The MateBook E has a new Folio keyboard with backlight and a hinge design that can be adjusted steplessly up to 160°. Huawei has partnered with Dolby to provide the new Matebook with custom-designed speakers. Dubbed Dolby Audio Premium, Huawei says you should expect cinema-level audio quality when in use.</p>
<p>The MateBook E has a 33.7Wh battery (4430mAh battery) that should last for up to 9 hours when watching a movie. For security, the matebook has a fingerprint scanner with a security chip on the side.</p>
<p>There is no pricing detail yet but the MateBook E will be available in titanium grey and champagne gold. The matebook will come with a keyboard but you can pick up the MatePen which has support for 2048 levels of pressure or throw in a bluetooth mouse</p>

Weighing 1.9kg and measuring 16.9mm thick, the MateBook D is powered by a 7th gen Core i5 7200U processor or Core i7 7500U processor. <h4></h4>
<h4><strong>MateBook X</strong></h4>
<p>Smaller than an A4 paper.  It is that simple. The 13-inch MateBook X is for those who want a traditional laptop but one that has got style. Just because it is small doesn&#8217;t mean it doesn&#8217;t pack a punch.</p>
<p>The MateBook X has the slimmest bezels on any notebook. Its display has a 2K resolution and is protected by gorilla glass and its fingerprint scanner is built right into the power button. What&#8217;s more, it is 12.5mm thick.</p>
<p>It is available with the same CPU configuration as the MateBook D and you can have it with either 4GB RAM paired with 256GB SSD or 8GB RAM paired with a 512GB SSD.</p>
<p>Since the MateBook X has a fanless design, Huawei says it uses space cooling technology to keep it cool. The notebook contain MEPCM (micro-encapsulated phase change material) that melt and solidify at certain temperatures allowing it to dissipate heat and cool the system when necessary.</p>
<p>There is a 41.4 Wh (5449mAh) battery in the notebook that should last up to 10 hours for web browsing and Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.</p>
<p>The MateBook X will be available in Prestige Gold, Rose Gold, and Space Grey when it goes on sale.</p>
