<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Original Story</span></strong></p>
<p>Xiaomi has been launching new products in the Indian market at regular intervals, along with introducing new product categories. After years of waiting, the company is finally bringing its much-awaited product in the Indian market &#8212; laptops.</p>
<p>The company recently started teasing the arrival of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> laptops in the Indian market but Xioami has not yet confirmed which model is getting unveiled. But now, information about this has leaked online.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-299072 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="805" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch.jpg 805w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch-300x173.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch-768x443.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch-696x401.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/redmibook-13-china-launch-729x420.jpg 729w" sizes="(max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px" /></p>
<p>As per the report, Xiaomi will be launching its laptop in the Indian market on 11th June. Although the laptop is said to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/10/redmibook-13-launched-china/">RedmiBook 13</a>, it will be rebranded and launched under the company&#8217;s Mi brand in India.</p>
<p>The leaked teaser images of the upcoming product showcase a 13-inch bezel-less display and Intel Core i7 processor. However, we expect the company to offer the product in other chipset configuration as well.</p>
<p>Although Xiaomi is known for making affordable products, which is actually the reason behind its massive success in markets like India, the upcoming laptops won&#8217;t be priced aggressively. Raghu Reddy, the chief business officer at Xiaomi India recently said that the company <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/29/xiaomi-will-launch-thin-light-and-gaming-laptops-in-india-no-entry-level-affordable-models/">won&#8217;t follow the smartphone model of affordability</a>, and will instead be targeting the laptops for creators, students, and gamers.</p>

<p>The RedmiBook 13, which was unveiled in China in December last year, comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD display with an 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the 10th-generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, 2GB <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nvidia">NVIDIA</a> GeForce MX250 GPU, along with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.</p>
<p>As for the pricing, in the Chinese market, the Core i5 model of RedmiBook is priced at 4,199 yuan which is about ₹44,500 (~$588) while the Core i7 model costs 5,199 yuan that roughly converts to ₹55,000 (~$728).</p>
<p>It remains to be seen how the company prices the Mi laptop in the Indian market. Xiaomi is yet to officially announce the launch date for the laptops but we expect the company to do so in the coming days.</p>

The same has happened for the launch of Mi branded laptops in the country.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">One might be wondering why we are confident that it will be a Mi Notebook. That’s because the hashtag they are using clearly says #WhatsNextFromMi and not #WhatsNextFromRedmi.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Also, the executives are speaking two words in their teaser videos &#8211; “It’s time” closing the lid of their laptops. Although this means Xiaomi is finally bringing laptops to India after years of requests, some people on Twitter think the company could be launching Mi Watch instead.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Having said that, the laptop model Xiaomi has planned to launch in India is still a mystery. It worth noting that the launch of Redmibooks was </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/28/redmibook-india-launch-soon/"><span style="font-weight: 400">tipped in late April</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and even one of the models was </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/11/redmibook-14-india-launch-could-be-near-as-it-receives-bis-certification/"><span style="font-weight: 400">spotted on BIS certification portal</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">On the other hand, Xiaomi India is teasing a Mi-branded product and not Redmi. This means only one thing and that is the company could be rebranding a RedmiBook with a Mi moniker.</span></p>

<p>The models recently certified are listed as RedmiBook 14 and 16 and are expected to be powered by AMD&#8217;s new Ryzen 4000 mobility APUs. Also listed is a new Mi Laptop 13.3 as well as a 14-inch and 16.1-inch versions. There is also a Mi Notebook 14 variant and all fur models are likely to be equipped only with Intel&#8217;s Comet Lake-H processors.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-320558" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Laptop" width="728" height="508" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-300x209.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-696x486.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-602x420.jpg 602w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>The RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition 2nd Generation is an upgraded version of the RedmiBook 14 which was launched last year. The RedmiBook 16 is a new 16-inch version dubbed RedmiBook 16 Ryzen Edition. The other four models include the Mi Laptop 13.3 / 14 / 16.1 and a Mi Notebook 14, which are brand new additions to the Xiaomi mobile PC portfolio. It is not yet clear if these four devices will be getting Ryzen CPUs, as well, but seeing how many OEMs are jumping on AMD’s bandwagon as of late, chances are in favour of such a move.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-2.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-320559" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-2.png?x44794" alt="" width="364" height="256" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-2.png 364w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-2-300x211.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/xiaomi-notebook-2-100x70.png 100w" sizes="(max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px" /></a></p>
<p>The Bluetooth SIG certification page shows all the models except the Mi Laptop 13.3 will feature support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Mi Laptop 13.3 will come with Bluetooth 5.1 certification. This is an indication that it could also be integrating an advanced Wi-Fi module.</p>
<p>We await additional information to pop-up about the upcoming Xiaomi mobile PCs.</p>

Alongside the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/27/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-is-official-with-snapdragon-845-ai-dual-camera-for-3299-yuan-527/">Mi Mix 2S launch in Shanghai</a>, the company also took the wraps off its first gaming laptop in the market. Xiaomi has continued its strategy in this market too by offering top of the line specs at an affordable price tag to gaming enthusiasts.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-181600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-01.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Gaming Laptop 01" width="690" height="345" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-01.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-01-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s laptop design philosophy is pretty simple. The company keeps the size and thickness as less as possible and does not believe in adding any fancy logos or stickers to differentiate its product. So, what you get is a plain design. Some love it, others hate it, but it&#8217;s a personal choice. It&#8217;s a bit thick to be honest at 20.9mm, but then powerful gaming laptops don&#8217;t usually get any thinner than this. The laptop weighs 2.7 kgs.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-03.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-181598" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-03.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Gaming Laptop 03" width="690" height="345" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-03.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Mi-Gaming-Laptop-03-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi Gaming Laptop boasts of a professional keyboard with 5 programmable keys. CEO Lei Jun added that gamers often like to order take-out food and one of these programmable buttons could be easily configured to order your favourite meal with just a hit of a button.</p>
<p>The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch FHD screen with a narrow frame, nothing fancy to be honest but it can connect to two other 4K external monitors for an ultimate gaming experience. You have Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio 2 x 3W speakers for a great gaming experience. The laptop is also loaded with a rich set of ports like HDMI 2.0, USB Type-C, Ethernet and USB 3.0.</p>

<p>There are four official variants of the Mi Gaming Laptop. Configurations start from an i5 standard voltage processor with GTX Ti 1050, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and 1TB HDD. You can upgrade the graphics to GTX Ti 1060 for an additional thousand Yuan, and for another thousand more, you can upgrade the CPU to Core i7. The top-end Mi Gaming Laptop features the Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and 1TB of HDD.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-181619" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Gaming Laptop official 01" width="560" height="560" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/pms_1522050377.16658998560x560-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px" /></a></p>
<p>Given the powerful configuration, it was necessary for Xiaomi to take care of its cooling. In this regard, the Mi Gaming Laptop comes with 3+2 large diameter cooling pipes inside with 4 air vents. There&#8217;s a special TORNADO button which kicks in ultra fast cooling, dropping the temperature by up to 3-5 degree celsius within 10 minutes. It will be loud with the fans blowing at full speed but your laptop should cool down very quickly.</p>
<p>Overall, the Mi Gaming Laptop looks very competitive. The Mi Gaming Laptop starts at 5999 Yuan ($956) for the Core i5 + GTX 1050 Ti variant and goes all the up to 8999 Yuan ($1435) for the Core i7 + GTX 1060 variant. You can check out the entire official specs of the four variants<a href="http://www.mi.com/migaminglaptop/specs/"> from this link</a> (in Chinese).</p>

Both are super thin laptops, weighs just over 1 kg and comes with Windows 10 OS on board. This is the company&#8217;s first laptop series in the market and while Xiaomi has made sure that the two models looks elegant and compact, it decided that the front of the laptop should be logo-less. The only major area where we see Xiaomi&#8217;s branding on this laptop is just below the screen, where there is the &#8220;Mi&#8221; logo.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91535" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Xiaomi-Notebook-Real-Images-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Notebook Real Images (1)" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Xiaomi-Notebook-Real-Images-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Xiaomi-Notebook-Real-Images-1-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>This is a bold move by the company, since most laptop companies like to leave their branding on their laptops, especially on top, to distinguish it from competitors. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91502" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hlhvj7bj31hc0u0ak0.jpg?x44794" alt="Mibook Air 12.5-inch" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hlhvj7bj31hc0u0ak0.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hlhvj7bj31hc0u0ak0-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hlhvj7bj31hc0u0ak0-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Well, you can customize the looks of the laptop however you want, and the logo less design on the front actually makes things easier to redesign. But I was wondering what you feel about this logo less design?</p>

At that time, it seemed impossible that a startup company could extend its reach to the laptop market. But nearly 1.5 years later, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (known as Xiaomi MiBook Air in China) is official and it&#8217;s just as good as we all imagined.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91529" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWqBmaUAAAkHxD.jpg?x44794" alt="mi notebook air" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWqBmaUAAAkHxD.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWqBmaUAAAkHxD-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWqBmaUAAAkHxD-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWqBmaUAAAkHxD-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will come in two versions, and just as we reported earlier, the smaller one will feature a 12.5-inch display while the larger model comes with a 13.3-inch display. Both are covered with 7H hard glass. We had repeatedly said that the Xiaomi Notebook will directly rival the premium Apple Macbook range and guess what, during the reveal today, the company made sure it highlighted the fact that the new Xiaomi Notebook is going to best the Macbook in terms of design.</p>
<p>Well, first of all, the Xiaomi Notebook is not its official name. The two laptop versions are called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch and the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch. So, from now onwards, we will be using this official name for mentioning these two models. Note that both are running on Windows 10 OS.</p>
<p><strong>UPDATE:</strong> Seems like internationally, Xiaomi is calling this the Mi Notebook Air. So, if you hear either the Mibook Air or Mi Notebook Air, both mean the same thing.</p>
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;">Xiaomi MiBook Air 12.5-inch</span></span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91510" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hejeultj31hc0u0qao.jpg?x44794" alt="Mibook Air 12.5-inch battery" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hejeultj31hc0u0qao.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hejeultj31hc0u0qao-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Ok, let&#8217;s start with the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch. This will be the thinnest Xiaomi laptop in the range and beats the Macbook Air in terms of its thickness as well as weight. The new laptop is just 12.9mm thick at its thickest point and all metal body weighs just 1.07 grams. The company has repeatedly said that the form factor is just like a magazine &#8212; thin and compact enough to get into your everyday bag.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91511" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hei36d3j31hc0u07f2.jpg?x44794" alt="006wuYq7jw1f68hei36d3j31hc0u07f2" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hei36d3j31hc0u07f2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68hei36d3j31hc0u07f2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Inside, this particular model comes with the Core M3 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. And guess what, you can expand the storage in this model. It comes with USB 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C for connectivity ports.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s more, Xiaomi has made sure that in this super thin body, there&#8217;s a large battery. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air reportedly features an amazing battery life of 11.5 hours. That&#8217;s nearly the same life that you get from Apple&#8217;s Macbook Air! While the battery life would differ according to your usage, it is easily enough to work for almost an entire day. Other features of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch are AKG custom speakers, and DU surround sound.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91533" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWsajpUsAAXDkp.jpg?x44794" alt="mi notebook air 12.5" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWsajpUsAAXDkp.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWsajpUsAAXDkp-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWsajpUsAAXDkp-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWsajpUsAAXDkp-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>This particular model is priced at 3499 Yuan ($525) and will go on sale on August 2.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;"><strong>Xiaomi Mi NoteBook Air 13.3-inch</strong></span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91527" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWlVYeVMAEsZGQ.jpg?x44794" alt="mi notebook air 02" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWlVYeVMAEsZGQ.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWlVYeVMAEsZGQ-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWlVYeVMAEsZGQ-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWlVYeVMAEsZGQ-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The second model in the company&#8217;s laptop range is the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch. This particular model is targeted at those who want something larger and much more powerful than the 12.5-inch version. And the company has made sure that the specs inside this device are good enough for your gaming needs! Well, I am sure, there is at least one reader on our blog who would be happy to see that this beast comes with the NVIDIA GTX 940MX 1GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics card on board. There will be the sixth generation Core-i5 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz, 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 256GB PCI-e SSD with the possibility of further storage expansion.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91507" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gujjpizj31hc0u0430.jpg?x44794" alt="mibook Air 13.3-inch weight" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gujjpizj31hc0u0430.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gujjpizj31hc0u0430-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Coming to the screen, the Xiaomi Mibook Air 13.3-inch comes with a 1080p anti-glare display. The screen accounts for 80.1%, better than the Macbook. It&#8217;s slightly thicker than the 12.5-inch model with a thickness of 14.8mm at the thickest part. Plus, it weighs just 1.28 kgs.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91506" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gukzgx4j31hc0u0dmu.jpg?x44794" alt="mibook air 13.3 vs macbook air 13.3" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gukzgx4j31hc0u0dmu.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/006wuYq7jw1f68gukzgx4j31hc0u0dmu-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>This model boasts of 9.5 hours of battery life on a single charge, and with the provided fast charger, you can get up to 50% of charge in around half an hour. You get USB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack for connectivity ports. Other features include AKG Custom dual speakers and Dolby surround sound support.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91531" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWr9VKUkAAQRO9.jpg?x44794" alt="mi notebook air 13.3" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWr9VKUkAAQRO9.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWr9VKUkAAQRO9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWr9VKUkAAQRO9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/CoWr9VKUkAAQRO9-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>It&#8217;s definitely one of the best laptops in the market right now, especially because you can get it for just 4999 Yuan ($750).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In a new twist, it has been reported by industry sources that Xiaomi is likely to ship just 300,000 units of the Mi Notebook this year, far lower than the 1 million units targeted.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Taipei Times quoted supply chain sources hinting at a cut in supply occasioned by the persistent postponement of the release date of the notebook PCs by several quarters.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Related:</span></strong> <strong><span style="color: #0000ff;"><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/20/xiaomi-targets-1-million-sales-release-two-notebooks-july-27/" target="_blank">Xiaomi Targets 1 Million Shipments With Release of Two Mi Notebooks on July 27</a></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The sources further disclosed that production of the laptops is split between Xiaomi&#8217;s long-term assembly partner Inventec Corp and Winstron Corp, with Inventec expected to deliver 150,000 units of the 12-inch sized Notebooks, while Winstron will deliver another 150,000 units but this time of the bigger size 13-inch Xiaomi Notebook.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When contacted by the Taipei Times, an official of Inventec is said to have confirmed that the company would start shipping the 12-inch units of the Mi Notebook laptop beginning from the end of July but the said official refused to confirm the total shipments expected to come from his company. Another official, however, disclosed via telephone, quite disappointingly, that <strong>&#8220;the initial shipments for the products are not massive&#8221;.</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">While Winstron declined to comment on the matter, industry analysts affirmed the possibility of the Xiaomi&#8217;s Notebook shipment terminating at only 300,000 units for this year as a result time constraint.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Xiaomi is expected to launch its first Notebook PC alongside the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/20/redmi-pro-specifications-officially-confirmed/">Xiaomi Redmi Pro flagship</a> smartphone in a news conference already scheduled for next week&#8217;s Wednesday. Going by this latest report, fans outside China who have been waiting to get their units of the Mi Notebook may have to wait a little longer even after it is unveiled, as just 300,000 units will be available and that amount would likely get consumed in the Chinese market. It is expected, though, that shipments would increase next year as Xiaomi aims to expand its market outside China and this cheap Macbook Pro look-alike would be one of the company&#8217;s drivers for the proposed international expansion.</p>

<p>According to the latest info from supply chain sources, Xiaomi plans to release 2 versions of their Mi Notebook: a 12.5&#8221; version that is already in mass production and a 13&#8221; version which will be mass produced later by Wistron.</p>
<p>The 12.5&#8221; version is said to be targeted at gamers and is expected to have a competitive price point which will help it conquer the market. Further, the sources added that Xiaomi expects shipments of the notebook to reach at least 1 million units.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-90093" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Mi-Notebook-Specs.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Notebook Specs" width="600" height="260" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Mi-Notebook-Specs.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Mi-Notebook-Specs-300x130.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The laptops will have the regular clam-shell design, with the 13&#8221; version to feature 8GB of RAM, an intel Core-i7 6500U processor, have a metal build, and run Windows 10. There is still no news on the battery life of the two devices but we expect news regarding that before the final launch.</p>

<p>Smartphone sales have overtaken PC sales in the last 3 years and companies which are known to be PC manufacturers are now branching out into mobile manufacturing. But that doesn&#8217;t mean people are still not purchasing laptops. Let&#8217;s hope Xiaomi replicates their mobile phone success in this new sector as well.</p>

Since, today, we officially enter the second half, we are all excited to see when the new Xiaomi laptop will be officially announced. While recently, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun said that<strong> &#8220;he couldn&#8217;t talk about the product <span style="color: #ff0000;">yet</span>&#8220;</strong>, it kind of confirms the existence of the laptop. And a few hours ago, a new alleged image of the Xiaomi laptop was leaked online.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-87788" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/xiaomi-notebook.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi notebook mac pro copy" width="550" height="304" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/xiaomi-notebook.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/xiaomi-notebook-300x166.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></p>
<p>This is probably the first real and clear image of the Mi laptop that we have seen. And it does reveal a few things about the upcoming device. First of all, like expected, it looks like the Mi laptop has been heavily inspired from the Apple Macbook Pro. The all metal silver design with the Mi logo up front, is almost identical to Apple&#8217;s Macbook Pro series.</p>
<p>According to the previous rumors, the Xiaomi Notebook is <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/12/14/xiaomi-notebook-may-come-in-three-sizes/">expected to come in three display variants</a>, 12.5-inches, 13.3-inches and a 15.6-inch model. The small display variants are expected to hit the market first. The specs are expected to be high-end and the pricing should be aggressive as well. The company is said to target the young generation with this new laptop, unlike Huawei, who was targeting the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/02/21/huawei-matebook-laptop-hybrid-official-with-core-m-processor-stylus-more/">business users with its new Matebook convertible</a>.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Notebook is expected to release in Summer this year, sometime in the month of September. We haven&#8217;t got an official confirmation of the product yet, but for now, the CEO&#8217;s comment on this matter is good enough to confirm that the laptop exists and is in development.</p>

However, earlier today, we spotted a leaked picture of a mould which was reportedly used to make the company&#8217;s first laptop computer. It was revealed that the mould was used for the first trial production of the Xiaomi laptop. The Mi logo on the mould hints that this was indeed used for making the body of the new laptop from the company.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86343" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-laptop-mould-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi laptop mould leak" width="600" height="536" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-laptop-mould-leak.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-laptop-mould-leak-300x268.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>According to the previous leaks, the Xiaomi laptop will come with a metal built and will look similar to Apple&#8217;s Macbook range. In fact, it is said that the company aims to take on Apple&#8217;s Macbook by offering a great design and powerful specs at a much lesser price tag. There have been several reports about the laptop&#8217;s pricing, but it is expected to start at around 3000 Yuan ($455).</p>
<p>Recent rumor states that the ne<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/13/xiaomi-notebook-windows-10-exposed-releasinf-summer/">w Xiaomi laptop will go on sale in Summer</a> this year. This is later than the original planned release date, which was scheduled for Q1 2016. There should be two variants of the device, one with a 12.5-inch display and another with a 15-inch display. Inside, it should be running on the Windows 10 platform. If the pricing is indeed $455, then supply chain sources predict Xiaomi will to ship around 1 million units of its new laptop in a year. Safer predictions can be made only after the official specs and pricing of the handset is revealed.</p>
<p>So, what do you think? If the Mi laptop is priced at just $455, would you consider it over existing established players like Dell, Lenovo or HP?</p>
