<p><strong><em>Must See: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/17/oneplus-nord-n100-receives-oxygenos-10-5-7-10-5-9-update-with-march-2021-security-patches/">OnePlus Nord N100 receives OxygenOS 10.5.7/10.5.9 update with March 2021 security patches</a></em></strong></p>

<p>OnePlus 11 India variant is receiving the update, and the other regions will get it in some time. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord N100 European and North American variants are receiving the OxygenOS 11.0.15. The changelog for both smartphones appears familiar:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="915" height="177" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Q7kEUQCsCj.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-577337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Q7kEUQCsCj.jpg 915w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Q7kEUQCsCj-300x58.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Q7kEUQCsCj-768x149.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Q7kEUQCsCj-696x135.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 915px) 100vw, 915px" /></figure>

<p>The &#8220;Never Settle&#8221; company is sticking to its plan for OxygenOS 14 while bringing regular updates to smartphones and tablets.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-11/"> OnePlus 11</a> is all set to receive the stable OxygenOS 14 update in the coming few days, it has already<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/16/oneplus-11-starts-receiving-oxygen-os-14-open-beta-3-update/"> received the Open Beta 3 build</a>. Unfortunately, the latest Android 14-based update won&#8217;t reach the OnePlus Nord N100 as per its update cycle. </p>

<p>The new update is already out and may take some time to reach each unit as it is rolling out in a staggered manner. Head over to <strong><em>Settings &gt; About Phone &gt; Software Update and Install</em></strong> to manually check for the update. </p>

<h2><strong>OxygenOS 14 Update Program</strong></h2>

<p>Following the global launch on September 25, the OxygenOS 14 is approaching the stable build with plenty of new improvements and features to enhance the system&#8217;s performance, efficiency, and stability. It is debuting &#8220;Tinity Engine&#8221; which aims to unlock the full potential of the present hardware on a device. It bundles three different technologies &#8211; CPU Vitalization, ROM Vitalization, and RAM Vitalization to improve performance and efficiency across respective aspects. </p>

<p>The Open Beta update is already out for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-11/">OnePlus 11</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/18/oneplus-10-pro-and-oneplus-11r-taste-oxygen-os-14-open-beta-1-update/">OnePlus 10 Pro</a>, OnePlus Nord 3, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/18/oneplus-10-pro-and-oneplus-11r-taste-oxygen-os-14-open-beta-1-update/">OnePlus 11R</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/23/oxygen-os-14-open-beta-1-commences-for-the-oneplus-10t/">OnePlus 10T</a> and others. The company has already posted information about the Open Beta update plan via the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/18/oxygenos-14-open-beta-timeline/">Open Beta timeline</a>.</p>

<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Original Story</strong></span></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus is rolling out a new system update for its 2018 flagship smartphone and its most affordable 2020 budget smartphone. These devices are none other than the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-6-2/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus 6</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">/6T and the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-nord-n100/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus Nord N100</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. For the former, the latest update arrives as OxygenOS 10.3.11. Whereas, for the latter, the update is called OxygenOS 10.5.8 (NA) / 10.5.10 (EU).</span></p>

You can actually get very interesting devices for less than €200. The latest one launched in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/08/check-out-the-realme-7i-official-unboxing-video/">Europe</a> is the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/realme-7i">Realme 7i</a> bringing all the power of a midrange MediaTek chipset to the low-end segment. But is it the most powerful and versatile handset under €200? There is no better way to understand it than comparing it with the most recent lower-midrange phones from other brands. The most suitable devices for this specs comparison are the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-nord-n100">OnePlus Nord N100</a>: the first low-end phone released by OnePlus, and the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a21s">Samsung Galaxy A21s</a>.</p>

<h2>Design</h2>
<p>Realme 7i, OnePlus Nord N100 and Samsung Galaxy A21s sport a very similar design. All come with a punch-hole display, a rectangle-shaped camera module, a plastic unibody design, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. There are only marginal differences and what really changes are the color variants. Given that it is thinner and lighter, my favorite one is the OnePlus Nord N100. But the Samsung Galaxy A21s is slightly more compact, so it is a great option too. The Realme 7i has more interesting color variants thanks to its reflective back, and its display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.</p>
<h2>Display</h2>
<p>If you expect a great display, you should not go for any of these phones. In each case, you get a below-average LCD panel with an HD+ resolution (720p). We are not saying these panels are bad, but you can find a lot of better displays in the market. Samsung Galaxy A21s is the most disappointing as the OnePlus Nord N100 and Realme 7i come with a 90 Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy A21s has just 60 Hz. The display of the OnePlus Nord N100 is slightly wider compared to the Realme 7i.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Hardware/Software</h2>
<p>The best chipset is the one found on the Samsung Galaxy A21s. It is very powerful for a so affordable phone, and it is very efficient because it is built with an 8 nm production process. The Realme 7i offers great performance as well thanks to its Helio G85 and, in its most expensive configuration, it offers a higher amount of RAM compared to the Samsung Galaxy A21s (8 GB vs 6 GB). Further, the Realme 7i has UFS 2.1 internal storage, while Samsung Galaxy A21s is based on eMMC storage. My choice would actually be the Realme 7i despite the SoC of the Samsung Galaxy A21s is more efficient. All of these devices run Android 10, but we know OnePlus Nord N100 will only get one year of major updates.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Camera</h2>
<p>The Realme 7i&#8217;s camera department varies depending on the market: in Asia, you get an amazing 64 MP rear camera, while in Europe, it has a 48 MP main camera. In both cases, we are talking about the best rear camera department of this trio. Even the front camera is actually better. The second place goes to the Samsung Galaxy A21s packing a 48 MP quad-camera and a 13 MP selfie camera, while OnePlus Nord N100 is disappointing with its 13 MP rear camera.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Battery</h2>
<p>Realme 7i is the battery champion as it packs a bigger 6000 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy A21s and OnePlus Nord N100 remain amazing battery phones, but they have just 5000 mAh.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Price</h2>
<p>OnePlus Nord N100 is priced at €200/$245, Realme 7i costs €170/$208, and Samsung Galaxy A21s is priced less than €200. The winner of the comparison is the Realme 7i due to its great hardware department, very nice cameras, and a bigger battery.</p>

The phone which is priced at €179 in Europe and £179 in the UK, has a punch-hole 60Hz HD+ display among its features, or so we thought.</p>

<p>OnePlus got called out for the low refresh rate since it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/26/all-upcoming-oneplus-phones-to-feature-90hz-fluid-displays/">said last year that all its future phones will have a fluid display a.k.a. high refresh rate</a>. Turns out that is not the case and the Nord N100 does have a high refresh rate display.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/oneplus-nord-n100-90hz-1178700/">Android Authority</a></em>, the OnePlus Nord N100 they purchased for review has a 90Hz refresh rate. They then contacted OnePlus who retracted its earlier info about it having a 60Hz refresh rate and confirmed that the phone indeed has a 90Hz refresh rate. The official spec sheet also states it has a 90Hz refresh rate. So why did we get different info at launch?</p>
<blockquote class="td_pull_quote td_pull_center">
<p style="text-align: center;">The N100 is equipped with a 90Hz display. Actual refresh rate depends on settings, applications used, and processing limitations &#8211; OnePlus</p>

<p>Why OnePlus did not say why it didn&#8217;t market the phone&#8217;s high refresh rate, Android Authority has come up with a theory that says it is because it is not a “Fluid Display”.</p>
<p>OnePlus prides itself on the quality of its phones&#8217; displays and the smooth experience users will get when they use them. However, the Nord N100 is a budget smartphone, actually a rebadged OPPO A53, and its entry-level specs will not provide a Fluid Display experience.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_354857" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-354857" style="width: 929px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-354857" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/OnePlus-Nord-N100-display-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Nord N100 display specs" width="929" height="357" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/OnePlus-Nord-N100-display-specs.jpg 929w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/OnePlus-Nord-N100-display-specs-300x115.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/OnePlus-Nord-N100-display-specs-768x295.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/OnePlus-Nord-N100-display-specs-696x267.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 929px) 100vw, 929px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-354857" class="wp-caption-text">OnePlus Nord N100 display specs</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>So rather than market the feature (90Hz refresh rate) and get dragged in the mud for the performance and drop in display quality, they decided to go with a 60Hz refresh rate. This is just a theory and not OnePlus&#8217;s official statement.</p>
<p>Nevertheless, the OnePlus Nord N100 has a high refresh rate and users will be able to switch between a 60Hz refresh rate and a 90Hz refresh rate. We don&#8217;t know if the high refresh rate will convince users to purchase the phone but it is worth knowing.</p>
<p>The Nord N100 is already available for purchase in Europe. It has a 6.52-inch LCD display, a <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-460">Snapdragon 460</a> processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, triple rear cameras, stereo speakers, an audio jack, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.</p>

The company&#8217;s official Instagram handle hasn&#8217;t really broken anything apart from a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/28/oneplus-teases-a-new-nord-smartphone-is-coming-soon/">#comingsoon </a>poster. However, Steve from Onleaks is on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/09/oneplus-nord-n10-5g-and-n100-will-reportedly-launch-on-october-26/">mission</a> to bring them to the limelight. His new tip reveals details including the display and battery of the devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-349364" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N10-5G.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Nord N10 5G" width="680" height="383" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N10-5G.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N10-5G-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>
<h4><strong>Nord N10 5G Specifications(Expected)</strong></h4>
<p>Jumping right in, according to Steve, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-nord-n10-5g">OnePlus Nord N10 5G</a> will have a 6.49-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Now, he hasn&#8217;t <a href="https://app.voice.com/post/@onleaks/time-travel-alert-these-are-the-oneplus-nord-n10-5g-specs-1603372852-1">revealed</a> if it&#8217;s an AMOLED or LCD here. Moving on, he says the device will come in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Apart from the known specs, it is said to have a 4,300mAh battery that probably charges via the USB-C port.</p>
<p>However, the most highlight of all is the inclusion of a headphone jack. Now, we aren&#8217;t really sure about this one but if it&#8217;s true, OnePlus better explains this well as to why they had to bring it back considering it recently launched the budget <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/14/oneplus-launches-the-oneplus-buds-z-tws-earbuds-with-10mm-drivers-enc-20hrs-playback/">OnePlus Buds Z</a>.</p>
<p>The device will reportedly feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G SoC, and boast a 64MP main lens which we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/16/oneplus-nord-n10-5g-is-the-affordable-oneplus-phone-for-the-us/">already know</a>. Alongside the main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP sensors will reportedly complete the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/21/this-is-what-the-oneplus-nord-n10-5g-will-look-like/">rear squircle layout</a> that leaked earlier.</p>
<h4><strong>Nord N100 Specifications(Expected)</strong></h4>
<p>Talking about the N100, Steve <a href="https://app.voice.com/post/@onleaks/and-these-are-the-oneplus-nord-n100-specs-1603373755-1">says</a> the device will be a 4G-only and not 5G. According to him, it will feature a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display(yes! you heard it right). This is surprising considering we haven&#8217;t seen an LCD display smartphone from OnePlus since the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-3">OnePlus 3</a>. Further, the device will reportedly sport <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/24/oneplus-nord-with-snapdragon-460-could-be-the-cheapest-oneplus-phone/">Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC</a> paired with 4GB RAM and a 64GB storage variant. All these falls in line with the Geekbench score that leaked a device with codename &#8220;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/06/mysterious-oneplus-clover-mid-range-phone-spotted-on-geekbench/">clover</a>&#8220;.</p>
<p>As for the optics, the rear camera will reportedly feature 13MP Primary, and two 2MP macro, and bokeh lenses. Upfront, an 8MP sensor is likely to take the selfies. Steve says the Nord N100 will feature a 5,000mAh battery which is negated by the earlier leaks that said 6,000mAh. Anyway, it will also have USB-C, and headphone jack ports.</p>
<p>While we wonder why OnePlus hasn&#8217;t really teased the devices yet, tipster Max J. <a href="https://twitter.com/MaxJmb/status/1319296582034968576">thinks</a> that the Nord N100 doesn&#8217;t exist and says there isn&#8217;t any evidence apart from a Geekbench score. Let&#8217;s wait and see if the leaks by Steve turn true in the coming days.</p>

Ahead of its arrival, the phone is already picking up necessary certifications.</p>
<p>The OnePlus Nord N100 has been certified by Thailand&#8217;s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). The certification reveals the phone has model number BE2013 and doesn&#8217;t mention 5G support in the list of network types supported which means it is a 4G smartphone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-347747" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N100.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Nord N100" width="727" height="812" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N100.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N100-269x300.jpg 269w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N100-696x777.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/OnePlus-Nord-N100-376x420.jpg 376w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>There is still a lot we do not know about the phone but seeing as the phone doesn&#8217;t have 5G support, there is a possibility it is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/24/oneplus-nord-with-snapdragon-460-could-be-the-cheapest-oneplus-phone/">OnePlus phone powered by a Snapdragon 460 processor</a>. We speculate the phone will also have dual rear cameras and support for 18W fast charging. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> already received a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/17/oneplus-18w-charger-gets-certified-by-tuv-rheinland-should-be-for-a-cheaper-nord-phone/">TÜV Rheinland certification for an 18W charger</a> in August, so we expect it to ship with the OnePlus Nord N100.</p>
<p>While we are roughly two weeks away from the rumored October 26 launch date of the Nord N10 5G and Nord N100, there is still ample time for more details of the two smartphones to surface.</p>

However, the device is available only in select areas like Europe and India. A few days back, the brand officially teased the arrival of a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/28/oneplus-teases-a-new-nord-smartphone-is-coming-soon/">new Nord</a> smartphone. Now, Steve from Onleaks has broken the launch date of the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-345094" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OnePlus-Nord-teaser.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Nord" width="720" height="487" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OnePlus-Nord-teaser.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OnePlus-Nord-teaser-300x203.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OnePlus-Nord-teaser-696x471.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/OnePlus-Nord-teaser-621x420.jpg 621w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>According to Steve, OnePlus will <a href="https://app.voice.com/post/@onleaks/time-travel-alert-this-is-oneplus-nord-n10-5g-and-n100-launch-date-1602241440-1?s=09">unveil</a> two more Nord smartphones, the Nord N10 5G, and Nord N100 on October 26, at 12 PM GMT. However, he has mentioned N10 as a 5G device but hasn&#8217;t included it on N100. This could be an indication that the N100 might be a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/24/oneplus-nord-with-snapdragon-460-could-be-the-cheapest-oneplus-phone/">budget device</a> that got leaked earlier with Snapdragon 460 SoC or a Snapdragon 6 series SoC. But OnePlus hasn&#8217;t confirmed anything yet.</p>
<p>That said, Steve has neither revealed the launch place and specs nor the availability. If we recall, an earlier report by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/16/oneplus-nord-n10-5g-is-the-affordable-oneplus-phone-for-the-us/">Android central</a> broke the news that Nord N10 would be a 5G smartphone. And will launch in the US under $400. As per the report, the device will feature a 6.49-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. And Snapdragon 690 5G SoC, 6GB RAM,128GB storage, 64MP camera. The N100 could feature a 6.52-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 460 SoC, 13MP main camera, and 6,000mAh battery.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-335053" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Aurora" width="810" height="479" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora.jpg 810w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora-300x177.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora-768x454.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora-696x412.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/OnePlus-Aurora-710x420.jpg 710w" sizes="(max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></p>

<p>It all started with a Geekbench score that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/11/oneplus-phone-with-snapdragon-690-lands-on-geekbench-is-this-the-oneplus-nord-lite/">showed</a> a new OnePlus codenamed BE2028. Later, an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/29/oneplus-nord-with-snapdragon-690-could-be-in-works-model-names-app/">XDA finding</a> and a tip by Max J. revealed alleged renders of two new devices under &#8220;Billie&#8221; with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/02/new-oneplus-phones-with-dual-and-triple-rear-cameras-appear-in-video-render/">punch-hole display</a>.</p>
<p>Following that, another Geekbench report hinted an OnePlus phone with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/06/mysterious-oneplus-clover-mid-range-phone-spotted-on-geekbench/">codename &#8220;Clover&#8221;</a> with an alleged Snapdragon 660/662 SoC could be in the works. Later, an OnePlus device with Snapdragon 460 SoC was spotted on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/24/oneplus-nord-with-snapdragon-460-could-be-the-cheapest-oneplus-phone/">proprietary source code</a> hinting at the possibility of another device. Additionally, we also saw an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/17/oneplus-18w-charger-gets-certified-by-tuv-rheinland-should-be-for-a-cheaper-nord-phone/">18W charger</a> of OnePlus getting certified by TUV Rheinland.</p>
<p>Looking at all leaks and rumors, we feel Nord N10 will be a 5G device. And N100 could be a 4G device aimed at a cheaper price tag. We can expect more details from OnePlus post the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/21/oneplus-announces-oneplus-8t-5g-will-launch-on-october-14/">OnePlus 8T launch</a>.</p>

<p>Earlier today, the official OnePlus Nord Instagram account posted another teaser with the caption “#ComingSoon”. The post, just like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/28/oneplus-teases-a-new-nord-smartphone-is-coming-soon/">the one from last week</a>, reveals no details about what is coming. Nevertheless, we believe this is a hint for the new smartphones.</p>
<p>More details should surface in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.</p>
