Realme has once again raised the retail prices of several smartphones in India, continuing a pattern of upward revisions that has been hitting buyers throughout the year.

The latest changes, which took effect on August 18, cover the C100x, C83, 16T, 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro+ models. The hikes range from ₹1,000 to ₹4,000 depending on the variant.

In the budget range, the Realme C100x 4G (4GB + 64GB) has jumped from ₹14,999 to ₹16,999. The C83 5G sees increases of ₹1,000–₹2,000: the 4GB + 64GB version is now ₹18,499, the 4GB + 128GB hits ₹21,499, and the 6GB + 128GB model costs ₹24,499.

Mid-range phones also got more expensive. All three variants of the Realme 16T 5G went up by ₹1,000, putting the 6GB + 128GB at ₹30,999, the 8GB + 128GB at ₹32,999, and the 8GB + 256GB at ₹35,999. The regular Realme 16 5G followed the same ₹1,000 pattern: the 8GB + 128GB is now ₹36,999, the 8GB + 256GB is ₹39,999, and the 12GB + 256GB sits at ₹42,999.

The biggest jumps hit the Pro models. The Realme 16 Pro 5G base 8GB + 128GB variant climbed ₹4,000 to ₹44,999, while its higher storage options rose by ₹3,000 each. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G followed a similar pattern: the 8GB + 128GB jumped ₹4,000 to ₹53,999, with the other two variants up by ₹3,000.

The Realme 16 series has already gone through several price adjustments since launch, in May, June, and early July. The base 16 Pro alone has accumulated roughly ₹9,000 in increases before this latest change. Similar hikes have also been seen from OnePlus, POCO, and iQOO around the same time.

Some models are still available at older prices

Flipkart was quick to update the prices, but Amazon, as has happened before, still has several models listed at the older rates. If you’re looking at any of the phones mentioned in this article, it’s worth checking Amazon before those listings get updated.

As of writing, the Realme C83 5G 4GB + 64GB is still showing ₹17,499, the 4GB + 128GB is at ₹19,499, and the 6GB + 128GB is available for ₹21,599 on Amazon (Flipkart has the same 6GB + 128GB variant at ₹23,999).

For the Realme 16T 5G, the 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB are still listed on Amazon at ₹26,999 and ₹31,999 respectively, while the 8GB + 256GB sits at ₹34,999.

On the regular Realme 16 5G, Amazon currently shows the 8GB + 128GB at ₹34,999, the 8GB + 256GB at ₹37,999, and the 12GB + 256GB at ₹39,999.

Realme 17 Pro+ key details surface

In the latest leak, DCS has shared details about an upcoming smartphone from Realme’s numbered series, and the camera specifications suggest that he could be referring to the Realme 17 Pro+. According to the leak, the phone will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an ultra-high refresh rate. While DCS has not specified the exact refresh rate, the panel could support at least 144Hz, similar to the previous generation.

The leak also mentions a triple-camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. It will reportedly be paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. If a previous report is to be believed that the periscope camera could use Samsung’s JN5 sensor and offer 3.5x optical zoom, while the primary camera could feature Samsung’s HP5 sensor.

Details about the chipset and battery capacity remain unknown for now. For reference, the Realme 16 Pro+ featured a 7,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. The Realme 17 Pro+ could retain a similar capacity or even go higher, especially since some Realme 16-series models are equipped with batteries as large as 8,000mAh. Last month, Oppo confirmed that eligible OnePlus and Realme smartphones will transition to ColorOS beginning with Android 17, replacing OxygenOS and Realme UI in future releases. The company has now expanded the ColorOS 17 beta program to additional devices, giving more users an opportunity to experience the next major software update before its public rollout.

In China, Oppo has opened ColorOS 17 Beta registrations for the following devices:

After confirming that OnePlus will stop launching new products in Europe and North America while continuing in China and India, Realme also announced that it is pausing new product launches in China. Now, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared additional details that paint a clearer picture of what lies ahead.

Realme’s China lineup has reportedly come to an end

According to the tipster, production of all current Realme smartphones for the Chinese market has already stopped, with existing inventory expected to sell out by around November. If this information proves accurate, it also means the company is unlikely to introduce the Realme GT 9 or Neo 9 series in China this year.

Realme has already said it will shift its focus to overseas markets, where it sees greater growth opportunities, especially in the performance and gaming segments. The tipster also claims that Realme’s overseas portfolio differs significantly from its China lineup.

According to DCS, international markets will not receive new GT or Neo series models, with the numbered series taking their place in several regions. The company is also focusing only on smartphones and audio products in the overseas markets, with no tablets or laptops available at present. However, a gaming tablet is reportedly being considered for the future.

OnePlus to focus on gaming performance

The same leak adds that OnePlus currently has no plans to collaborate with Ricoh for camera technology and will instead continue focusing on gaming performance. This is also reflected in recent reports, which claim that the upcoming OnePlus 16 will feature a 185Hz refresh rate display, a larger battery, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, highlighting the brand’s continued emphasis on raw performance.

This also aligns with Oppo’s recently announced global strategy, under which eligible OnePlus and Realme devices will eventually be able to switch to the latest version of ColorOS as software integration across the brands moves forward.

Oppo has announced a major restructuring for its sister brands Realme and OnePlus. The goal is to streamline operations, cut down on overlap, and let each brand focus on what it does best in the global market.

According to Realme’s official statement, the company will now shift its focus almost entirely to overseas markets. That means new product launches and updates will primarily target international users, while the brand is pausing further product development in China. On the flip side, OnePlus will concentrate more on its home turf in China and continue supporting updates in India, but it’s putting new product releases on hold in Europe and North America.

This clear division of labor should help both brands play to their strengths and reduce unnecessary competition between them inside the BBK Electronics family.

One of the most interesting parts of this strategy is the software side. Going forward, eligible realme and OnePlus devices around the world will have the option to update to Oppo’s ColorOS. It looks like Oppo is gradually unifying its three major Android skins, ColorOS, OxygenOS, and realme UI, under one main platform centered on ColorOS. In the future, many devices across all three brands could ship with ColorOS from the start.

This makes a lot of practical sense for the company. Maintaining three separate software platforms meant duplicated work and higher costs. By consolidating everything under ColorOS (building on the 2021 OxygenOS-ColorOS merger), Oppo can develop features faster, roll out security patches more quickly, and save resources in the long run.

A new report says OxygenOS and Realme UI are on the verge of discontinuation, and future OnePlus and Realme phones may run ColorOS instead. 

According to a report from Smartprix, which cites an industry source, Oppo is combining OnePlus and Realme more closely into its main brand. As part of this, the three Android skins, ColorOS, OxygenOS, and Realme UI, will be reduced to one: ColorOS.

The report also says OnePlus will now focus mainly on India and China. Realme, on the other hand, is stepping back from the Chinese market to focus on markets outside China. In India, OnePlus has already merged its repair and service network with Oppo’s, so separate OnePlus service centers are becoming less common.

The past

OxygenOS is the software OnePlus has used on its phones since 2014. Realme UI is the software Realme has used since it split off from Oppo as its own brand in 2018. ColorOS is Oppo’s own software, used on Oppo phones worldwide.

If you’ve been keeping up, the change has been in progress for a while. In 2021, OnePlus and Oppo agreed to share the same software codebase, combining OxygenOS with ColorOS. We covered this at the time, when OnePlus confirmed OxygenOS would share a codebase with ColorOS after its full merger with Oppo. Since then, ColorOS has taken on more of the development work, even though OnePlus phones still have OxygenOS branding. 

Now, that could change too — not just for OnePlus but for Realme too.

Realme UI was already close to ColorOS, so Realme users may not notice much difference. OnePlus users, who are used to OxygenOS’s lighter, simpler interface, will likely see more change. 

None of this has been confirmed by OnePlus, Realme, or OPPO yet. It’s also not clear when this change would take effect, or whether it will apply to all markets at once.

Google has released Android 17 for Pixel devices, and soon other brands will begin rolling out the update. However, there’s a lot of uncertainty among users about whether their devices will receive this major upgrade. So, we have prepared a brand-by-brand list of devices that will receive the Android 17 update, including Samsung, OnePlus, Motorola, Xiaomi, and more.

Except for Google, no brand has announced the list of eligible devices for the Android 17 upgrade. So, we reviewed the current update policy for every brand to prepare the list. Since it’s based on the update policy, devices on the list are almost confirmed to receive the update.

Pixel phones, as always, are the first phones to receive the Android 17 update. The rollout went live on June 16 for all eligible devices, though the availability depends on your region.

If your device is on the list, it’s almost guaranteed to receive the Android 17 update once the rollout begins later this year.

The official list could be longer as Realme hasn’t announced the update policy for every device. So, we only included the devices that we were confident about just to keep the list as accurate as possible.

As for the stable release, no official announcement has been made yet. However, given that Android 17’s timeline is largely similar to last year’s, we can expect Realme UI 8.0 to drop around the same time, in November.

While the stable release is still a few months away, users can apply for the Android 17 beta program to get an early taste of the new features and upgrades. Since its official announcement in late March, the beta program has remained limited to the Realme GT 8 Pro, with no official announcement about its expansion to other devices. Realme has expanded its P-series smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Realme P4R 5G. Key highlights include a large 8,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The smartphone will be available through Flipkart and Realme’s online store starting later this month.

Realme P4R 5G specifications and features

The Realme P4R 5G features a 6.8-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution (1570 x 720 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The panel offers up to 1,200 nits of high brightness mode (HBM) brightness and is protected by Panda-1681 glass.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Buyers can choose from 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 6GB+256GB variants, while storage expansion is also supported.

For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 50MP rear camera featuring autofocus and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The camera app includes features such as Night Mode, Street Mode, Cinematic Video, Dual-view Video, Time-lapse, Pro Mode, Tilt-shift, and Google Lens integration.

One of the key highlights of the device is its 8,000mAh battery, which is among the largest in its segment. It supports 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging and is compatible with VOOC, PD, QC, and PPS charging protocols. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C connectivity, OTG support, and dual-SIM 5G support.

The handset measures approximately 166.4 x 78.2 x 8.8mm and weighs around 224 grams. For durability, the device comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade shock resistance certification and offers an IP65 level of dust and splash resistance.

The Realme P4R 5G is priced at Rs 18,999 (~$200) for the 4GB+128GB variant, Rs 20,999 (~$220) for the 6GB+128GB model, and Rs 22,999 (~$240) for the 6GB+256GB version. It comes in Lavender Glare, Titanium Glare, and Silver Glare color options.

As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail a Rs 2,000 bank discount along with up to three months of no-cost EMI. With the introductory offer applied, the effective prices drop to Rs 16,999, Rs 18,999, and Rs 20,999, respectively. The offer pricing will be available for the first 12 hours of sale. The first sale is scheduled for June 17 via Flipkart and Realme.com.

Realme has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming P-series smartphone, the Realme P4R 5G, in India. The handset is set to arrive next week and the company has already revealed several key details, including its battery capacity, display features, camera hardware, and design. The device will be available through Flipkart and Realme’s online store following its debut.

The Realme P4R 5G will launch in India on June 10 at 12pm IST. The smartphone will be offered in Titanium Glare, Silver Glare, and Lavender Glare colour options. It introduces a new Floating Light design along with a customizable Pulse Light and AI Power Light system that can provide visual notifications for calls, music playback, gaming activities, and alerts.

One of the biggest highlights of the handset is its 8,000mAh battery. Realme claims the battery can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge. The phone supports 45W fast charging and includes features such as bypass charging, reverse charging, AI-powered power management, and a battery health engine that is said to maintain more than 80 percent battery health after several years of use. As scheduled, Realme today announced the new Realme 16T 5G in India. The highlight of the phone is its massive 8,000mAh battery, which the brand claims can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge.

Even with such a large battery, the company has managed to keep the phone under 9mm thick, and it weighs 224 grams.

The phone features a 6.8-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of brightness. Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

Realme has also added a 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system to keep thermals in check.

On the camera side, the Realme 16T uses a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary sensor alongside a 2MP secondary sensor. There is also a 16MP front camera. One unusual addition is the “Selfie Mirror” feature on the rear panel, which allows users to preview themselves while using the rear camera for selfies.

Realme is preparing to launch the Realme 16T in India on May 22, and just days before the announcement, its price has now surfaced on the web.

According to the tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, the Realme 16T will start at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB/128GB model is said to be priced at Rs 31,999, while the top-end 8GB/256GB version will cost Rs 33,999.

For the price, the Realme 16T is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The phone has also appeared on Geekbench listings with Android 16 and up to 8GB of RAM.

The device is expected to feature an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and bypass charging. Realme claims the phone can last up to three days on a single charge and can handle long gaming sessions, including up to 11 hours of BGMI at 60fps under ideal conditions.

The display is expected to be a 6.8-inch flat LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. However, earlier leaks also mention thick bezels, which suggests the design will not focus heavily on premium aesthetics. The phone is also expected to have a slim 8.8mm body despite the large battery.

The Realme 16T camera hardware includes a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP secondary lens on the rear, while the front will carry a 16MP selfie camera. Realme is also focusing on AI-based photography features such as portrait enhancements and automated editing tools.

Realme has increased the prices of its Realme 16 series smartphones in India. The revised pricing is now live across all three models: the Realme 16 5G, Realme 16 Pro 5G, and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G.

The latest revision affects nearly every storage configuration in the series. Among the three phones, the biggest jump is on the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, where some variants have become costlier by as much as Rs. 3,000.

Realme 16 series price hike in India

Following the price change, the Realme 16 5G now starts at Rs. 33,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, instead of its earlier Rs. 31,999 price tag. The 8GB + 256GB version now costs Rs. 36,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant has gone up to Rs. 39,999. Both of these versions received a Rs. 3,000 increase.

The Realme 16 Pro 5G is also a bit more expensive now. Its 8GB + 256GB variant is now priced at Rs. 39,999, up from Rs. 38,999. Meanwhile, the 12GB + 256GB option now costs Rs. 42,999 instead of Rs. 41,999. Both variants saw a Rs. 1,000 increase.

The higher-end Realme 16 Pro+ 5G sees the sharpest rise in pricing. The 8GB + 256GB version is now listed at Rs. 46,999, compared to its earlier Rs. 44,999 price. The 12GB + 256GB model now sells for Rs. 48,999 instead of Rs. 46,999, while the top-end configuration has jumped from Rs. 49,999 to Rs. 52,999.

Realme is not the only smartphone brand revising prices in India. Several companies in the mid-range smartphone segment have recently adjusted prices upward. Brands including OnePlus, Poco, and Lava have also reportedly increased prices of select devices in recent weeks.

The recent hikes are believed to be linked to growing pressure on smartphone makers due to rising production expenses. Industry-wide issues such as higher component prices and memory chip shortages are continuing to affect device costs globally, and manufacturers appear to be passing some of that increase on to buyers in India.

Realme has been gradually revealing key details about the Realme 16T, which is all set to launch on May 22 in India. Recently, the company confirmed the battery size and charging capabilities of the device. Realme 16T camera features confirmed

The Realme 16T 5G features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 AI camera paired with an F1.8 aperture, autofocus support, and the company’s LumaColor IMAGE Engine. According to Realme, the setup is designed to improve portrait sharpness, texture details, and color accuracy in everyday photography.

The camera system also includes RAW HDR processing and customized white balance tuning to deliver better highlights, shadows, and natural-looking portrait shots. AI Portrait Glow is another key feature aimed at improving portraits captured in low-light and backlit environments through automatic lighting optimization and multiple lighting effects.

Apart from the camera hardware, the Realme 16T 5G also introduces several AI-based photography and editing tools. The phone includes a rear Selfie Mirror feature that lets users preview selfies while using the rear camera. It also supports AI Popout Collage for frame-breaking photo effects, along with AI StyleMe tools such as AI Profile Portrait and AI Football Star. In addition, AI Instant Clip can automatically turn photos and videos into short cinematic clips within seconds for social media sharing.

Realme has previously confirmed that the Realme 16T will feature a 6.8-inch flat AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness. According to the brand, the Realme 16T will feature a massive 8,000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to three days of usage on a full charge. The device will support 45W fast charging along with bypass charging support.

Realme claims that the phone can deliver up to 11 hours of continuous 60fps BGMI gameplay. Despite housing a large battery, the handset will have a slim 8.8mm profile.

The device will feature a large 6.8-inch flat display. While the company has used an aluminium alloy material for the camera module, the side frame will feature a metallic finish. In terms of design, the Realme 16T will be available in Aurora Green, Starlight Red, and Starlight Black color options.

With 10 days remaining before launch, the company is expected to reveal more details about the Realme 16T in the coming days. However, the device was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with the Dimensity 6300 chipset. Some reports claim that the phone could feature a slightly tweaked version of the chip, possibly called the Dimensity 6360.

Realme looks set to add another model to its growing 16 series lineup in India. The upcoming Realme 16x has now surfaced on the BIS certification website, which usually means an official launch isn’t too far away.

The certification was reportedly approved on May 6, 2026, suggesting Realme is already wrapping up regulatory formalities for the Indian market. Tipster Abhishek Yadav also recently mentioned the Realme 16x on X, claiming the phone will launch soon in India. According to the leak, the device could arrive in two color options: Endurance Brown and Glory White.

Storage variants are expected to include:

4GB + 128GB

6GB + 128GB

6GB + 256GB

That setup makes it pretty clear Realme is targeting the affordable 5G segment again. The phone is expected to succeed the Realme 15x 5G, which launched last year with a starting price of ₹16,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant. The 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations were priced at ₹17,999 and ₹19,999, respectively.

That phone focused heavily on battery life and everyday performance, offering a 144Hz display, 6-nm based Dimensity 6300 mid-range chipset, and a large 7,000mAh battery with 60W charging.

At the moment, specs for the new model are still under wraps, but the overall positioning likely won’t change too much. Expect the Realme 16x to land somewhere in the ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 range, competing with the usual crowd of budget 5G phones.

It’ll also expand the broader Realme 16 lineup, which already includes the standard Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro Plus.

With the BIS certification now live, an official announcement could happen within the next few weeks. And considering how competitive the affordable 5G segment has become in India, Realme will probably continue focusing on the same formula that worked well before: big batteries, high refresh rate displays, and decent day-to-day performance.

The Realme 16 series already has three members, and it’s soon set to become four. The upcoming Realme 16T has made an early appearance on Geekbench, revealing what we can expect under the hood.

According to the listing, the Realme 16T (model number RMX5268) is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. That’s actually a downgrade over last year’s Realme 15T, which uses MediaTek Dimensity 6400.

The Geekbench data shows a CPU setup with two performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The tested unit comes with 8GB of RAM and runs Android 16.

If that configuration sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The Realme 15T’s chipset, for instance, offered slightly higher clock speeds at 2.5GHz on its performance cores, alongside the same GPU. As a result, the differences here may come down to optimization rather than raw performance.

What else do we know

Outside of benchmarks, earlier leaks from tipster Abhishek Yadav point to multiple variants for the 16T. The phone is expected to ship in three configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB with 128GB, and 8GB with 256GB.

As for the design, the phone is said to come in Starlight Red, Starlight Black, and Aurora Green shades. These names don’t confirm much on their own, but they hint at glossy or gradient finishes.

There’s no official launch date yet; however, the phone is expected to arrive as soon as next month.

Alongside it, Realme could also announce the Realme P4R smartphone, which will come in Silver Glare, Titanium Glare, and Lavender Glare. Its base variant could start at 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, with additional options of 6GB/128GB and 6GB/256GB. We will keep you in the loop with new details.

Realme’s Buds T series has built a reputation in the budget segment, with the Buds T200 and T300 often seen as reliable picks for everyday users. Early sales data for the new realme Buds T500 Pro suggest that the same trust is now extending to its latest model.

The company says the Buds T500 Pro recorded a 230 percent increase in first-day sales compared to its predecessor. The figures cover purchases across realme’s website, Flipkart, Myntra, Amazon, and offline mainline retail stores. While realme has not shared absolute numbers, the jump points to strong early demand during the first sale window.

Pricing appears to be a key factor. The Buds T500 Pro launched at an introductory price of INR 2,599, which has now jumped to INR 2,799. Buyers can still find the earbuds across the same online platforms and offline channels.

On the hardware side, the Buds T500 Pro brings a noticeable upgrade over previous T-series models. It uses 12.4mm titanium-plated drivers and supports Hi-Res Audio with the LHDC 5.0 codec. The addition of 360-degree spatial audio places it closer to features usually seen in higher-priced options.

Noise handling is another focus area. The earbuds include 50dB Ultra-Wideband Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation along with a six-microphone system for call clarity. This is a step up from what was offered in the Buds T200 and T300, which helped build the series’ value-first appeal.

Battery life is rated at up to 56 hours in total. Fast charging is also included, with a 10-minute charge claimed to deliver up to 10 hours of playback. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.1, with support for connecting up to three devices at once and a Game Mode with 45ms latency.

Additional features include AI translation support for 34 languages and “MindFlow” audio modes. Each earbud weighs 4.5 grams and carries an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, rounding out a feature set that appears to be driving early buyer interest.

The upcoming Realme C81 has already started showing up in early leaks. According to the latest report, the phone (model number RMX5388) could come with 4GB RAM, paired with either 64GB or 128GB storage. It’s expected to be available in Storm Black and Glacier Blue, based on what appears to be an internal listing screenshot.

It matches the recently launched Realme Note 80, which has led to speculation that the C81 might not be an entirely new device. Instead, it could be a rebranded version of the Note 80 for different markets. Realme has done this before, so it wouldn’t be surprising.

If that turns out to be the case, the specs are mostly known already. The phone is said to feature a 6.74-inch LCD display with 720 x 1600 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Brightness is listed at around 450 nits, which should be fine for indoor use and manageable outdoors.

Under the hood, it’s expected to run on the Unisoc T7250 chipset. This is a 4G chip aimed at basic everyday use like browsing, calling, messaging, and light social media, with a focus on keeping costs low.

Camera setup looks fairly simple. The rear is said to use an 8MP sensor, while the front gets a 5MP camera. Nothing impressive on paper, but enough for casual shots and video calls.

The C81 is tipped to pack a 6,300mAh battery, along with 15W charging and even reverse wired charging. That kind of capacity should easily last a full day, possibly more depending on usage.

Overall, the Realme C81 is shaping up to be a pretty straightforward budget phone. If it is indeed a rebranded Note 80, then this is more about expanding availability rather than introducing something new.

Launch timing isn’t confirmed yet, but with listings already appearing, it probably won’t be too far off. Pricing will be key, as always, in this segment.

Realme has added a new pair of budget TWS earbuds to its lineup, and on paper at least, they look surprisingly loaded for the price. The Realme Buds T500 Pro bring features like active noise cancellation, Hi-Res audio, and multi-device connectivity.

Under the hood, the Buds T500 Pro uses 12.4mm dynamic drivers with a titanium-plated diaphragm. It supports the LHDC 5.0 codec, which should help with better audio quality when connected to compatible devices.

The company claims up to 50dB noise cancellation, along with a fairly wide frequency range. It’s adaptive too, meaning it adjusts depending on your surroundings and fit. You also get a transparency mode when you need to hear what’s happening around you. For calls, there’s a six-mic setup, and interestingly, Realme has added live translation features, including face-to-face and two-way modes.

Connectivity is another area where the Buds T500 Pro stands out. The earbuds support Bluetooth 6.1 and can connect to up to three devices at once, which should make switching between, say, your phone, laptop, and desktop a lot easier. Features like Google Fast Pair and a Find My Earbuds option are here as well.

There’s also a 45ms low-latency mode for gaming and video, and something called MindFlow Mode, which basically plays ambient soundscapes through the app. The last one is a bit niche, but some people might like it.

Battery life looks solid on paper. Realme is claiming up to 56 hours total with the case. Each earbud packs a 62mAh battery, while the case has 530mAh. In real-world use, you’re looking at around 13–14 hours without ANC (AAC) and closer to 8–9 hours with ANC, depending on how you use them. Charging takes about an hour for the buds and roughly two hours for the case via USB-C.

The earbuds themselves weigh just 4.5g each, and the case is compact enough to carry around easily. You also get an IP55 rating, so they should handle sweat and light splashes without issues.

Pricing and availability:

The earbuds were launched in India at ₹2,799, with a limited-time ₹200 discount that brings the price down to ₹2,599 for the first sale window between April 23 and April 26, 2026. Color options include Chocolate, Lemon Cola, and Orange Mint.

At this price, the Buds T500 Pro seems to tick quite a few boxes. On paper, they look like a strong option in the sub-₹3,000 category.

Global smartphone shipments are off to a slower start in 2026. According to IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, shipments fell 4.1% year over year in the first quarter to 289.7 million units.

The drop effectively ends a ten-quarter streak of growth that began around mid-2023. And we are all probably aware of the reasons. Supply constraints tied to storage components and rising costs. Both of these are expected to continue putting pressure on the market.

The top two companies still posted growth. Samsung and Apple were the only vendors among the global top five to record year-over-year gains.

The market outlook in Q1, 2026

Samsung returned to the number one spot for the quarter, thanks in part to the demand for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Even with a later-than-usual launch, shipments still rose 3.6% compared to last year. 

The company also filled the gap with earlier releases in its midrange A series, which helped stabilize volumes.

Apple followed in second place, with the iPhone 17 series seeing particularly strong demand in China. The company recorded more than 30% growth in the mainland, contributing to a 3.3% increase globally. That said, IDC notes that supply disruptions and weaker channel support in some regions kept that growth in check.

For the rest of the top five, things were a bit more muted. Xiaomi held onto third place despite posting the largest decline among the group. 

Oppo came in fourth, with stronger performance in China offsetting weaker international results. Notably, Oppo’s data now also includes Realme. Vivo rounds out the top five, contributing 7.3% of global smartphone shipments. 

Outside the top tier, there were a few bright spots. Honor, along with Lenovo (through Motorola) and Huawei, all managed to grow. Honor stood out with a 24% year-over-year increase, which IDC says is due to its overseas expansion. 

In China, total shipments reached about 69 million units, down 3.3% from a year ago. Even there, growth from Huawei and Apple wasn’t enough to offset the broader slowdown.
