The poster doesn’t contain too many details of what the company will be launching and the launching time but today, information from the company sheds some light to the mystery: The new model is called Blackview BV9800/BV9800 Pro. Let&#8217;s take a look at some more details.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-274789" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Blackview BV9800" width="800" height="489" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2-300x183.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2-768x470.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2-696x426.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-2-687x420.jpg 687w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Firstly, the new device will come with a triple rear camera setup with the main sensor being the famous Sony IMX586 48MP sensor. The IMX586 is currently the most widely used camera sensor in the midrange to flagship devices and devices like Honor View 20, OnePlus 7, VIVO X27, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, and Xiaomi Mi 9 sporting Sony&#8217;s best mobile camera sensor to date. Of course, these devices cost from around $600 to $900+.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-274788" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Blackview BV9800" width="529" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1.jpg 1500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-265x300.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-768x870.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-904x1024.jpg 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-696x789.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-1068x1210.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-1-371x420.jpg 371w" sizes="(max-width: 529px) 100vw, 529px" /></a></p>
<p>According to DxOmark camera testing website, the IMX586 ranks at the top of their list both in video and photo shooting. Not only does it feature a high pixel count but also is large at 1/2″ with 1.6μm pixel size (via pixel binning). As Blackview revealed, the 48MP sensor will be combined with a 5MP depth camera to achieve beautiful bokeh effect. The 3d camera will sport an ultra-wide lens offering a 120º field-of-view and a 16MP sensor.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-274787" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Blackview BV9800" width="674" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3-300x267.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3-768x684.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3-696x619.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Blackview-BV9800-camera-3-472x420.jpg 472w" sizes="(max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px" /></a></p>
<p>It was about time a rugged phone with the Sony sensor hit the market and who would be better to bring one than Blackview that has a long tradition in the rugged smartphone market. The sensor is proven to be one of the best around and the fact that it will be available in the budget rugged phones BV9800/BV9800 Pro is very positive. However, the company often has issues keeping a </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/02/26/xiaomi-mi-9-goes-out-of-stock-within-53-seconds-during-first-flash-sale/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">steady supply of these VFM phones</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Even this year, getting hold of your favorite Xiaomi smartphone isn’t too easy. In fact, recently, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> decided to </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/14/xiaomi-cancels-the-mi-9-se-and-mi-9-transparent-edition-sales-billed-for-today-march-14/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">cancel the sale of Mi 9SE and Mi 9 transparent edition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> because it failed to ready enough stock.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdrkavxnj33342bcx6r.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242253" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdrkavxnj33342bcx6r.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi Redmi Note 7 warehouse stock" width="690" height="518" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdrkavxnj33342bcx6r.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdrkavxnj33342bcx6r-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdrkavxnj33342bcx6r-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Of course, this has led to bad publicity for the company. Fans are often questioning what the company is doing to solve this supply issue. In this regard, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO came forward and said that </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/04/lei-jun-promises-to-personally-handle-a-screwdriver-if-mi-9-stock-is-inadequate/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">he’s willing to handle a screwdriver personally</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> if that’s what’s required to ensure a steady supply of Xiaomi smartphone stock. Now, Lu Weibing has shared more details about what goes behind the scenes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The recently appointed General Manager of the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redmi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> brand shared a few photos of the warehouse stocking the new </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-7-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redmi Note 7 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. He also revealed that warehouses across China are packing and delivering nearly 330 units per minute. That will add up to quite a lot of units. Hopefully, the next sale at 8 PM today should last for at least a few minutes.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242255" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi Redmi Note 7 warehouse stock 2" width="1024" height="769" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t-768x577.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/006rUXYjly1g1bdptv9vfj33lc2p4x6t-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To recap, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the Sony IMX586 48MP camera at the back with Xiaomi’s night mode as well. There’s a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with 6GB RAM, 4000mAh battery, and Snapdragon 675 inside. Overall, it’s a solid smartphone in the mid-range segment. But it remains to be seen if fans are able to get hold of a unit in the next few days.</span></p>

The company had revealed that the Note 7 Pro will be arriving with improved main camera. Rumors are rife that the smartphone may feature a different processor. Probably, it could be equipped with the all new Snapdragon 675 SoC.</p>
<p>Different leaksters are now claiming on Weibo that the Snapdragon 675 chipset will be powering the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The SoC was unveiled in October last year and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/23/xiaomi-snapdragon-675-smartphone/">Xiaomi had claimed</a> that it would be debuting the first smartphone with Snapdragon 675. Recent reports have revealed that following smartphones such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/03/leak-reveals-motorola-p40-will-come-with-snapdragon-675-soc-48mp-rear-camera-and-more/">Motorola P40</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/09/hisense-u30-with-punch-hole-display-snapdragon-675-and-48mp-camera-spotted-at-ces-2019/">HiSense U30</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/07/meizu-note-9-snapdragon-6150-48mp-camera/">Meizu Note 9</a> will be driven by the Snapdragon 675. However, if the new rumors are true, the Redmi Note 7 Pro could end up as the first SD675 phone.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 660 does not carry support for 48-megapixel camera. Hence, it is very likely that the Note 7 Pro may come equipped with a different chipset. The 11nm Snapdragon 675 features a more powerful CPU than the one present inside Snapdragon 710. However, the SD675 includes a slower GPU and inferior ISP than SD710.</p>

</ul>
<p>Apart from different processor, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be equipped with a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor instead of the Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor available on the Note 7. There is no information available on the pricing of the Note 7 Pro. The highest configuration variant of the Note 7 that features 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage carries a price tag of 1,399 Yuan (~$207). The presence of Sony IMX586 sensor and the alleged inclusion of Snapdragon 675 on the Note 7 Pro suggests may cost around 1,699 Yuan (~$250) or above.</p>

Xiaomi revealed at the event that it will launch a Redmi Note 7 Pro after the Spring Festival which will also have a 48MP rear camera but this time a Sony IMX586 sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-231776" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Redmi-Note-7-Pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 7 Pro" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Redmi-Note-7-Pro.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Redmi-Note-7-Pro-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Actually, the Sony IMX586 was supposed to be the sensor in the Redmi Note 7 but supply issues caused Xiaomi to switch to Samsung&#8217;s GM1 sensor. The above info was revealed at the event earlier today. Redmi says the Redmi Note 7 Pro has been made for users who are more focused on camera performance and plan to unveil it after the Spring Festival.</p>
<p>Based on the above statement, it is clear the Samsung GM1 sensor isn&#8217;t as good as the Sony IMX586 but how significant is the difference in performance?</p>
<p>While both are 0.8μm-pixel sensors, the Sony IMX586 uses a Quad-Bayer array that is arranged in 4&#215;4 for a pixel count of 48 million while Samsung&#8217;s sensor can actually only do 12MP but interpolates to 48MP.</p>
<figure id="attachment_231777" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-231777" style="width: 720px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-231777" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Sony-IMX586-Quad-Bayer-Array.jpg?x44794" alt="Sony IMX586 Quad Bayer Array" width="720" height="270" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Sony-IMX586-Quad-Bayer-Array.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Sony-IMX586-Quad-Bayer-Array-300x113.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-231777" class="wp-caption-text">Sony IMX586 Quad Bayer Array</figcaption></figure>
<p>So even if the output from the GM1 sensor is 48MP, it can&#8217;t be compared to that of the IMX586 which is truly a 48MP sensor. The difference in the camera performance can be seen when you zoom in on images taken with both photos.</p>
<p>Will the camera sensor be the only difference between the two phones? Most likely not. Even though the design is similar and specs like the screen and battery capacity will likely remain unchanged, we believe the Redmi Note 7 Pro will come with a more powerful processor.</p>
<figure id="attachment_231778" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-231778" style="width: 554px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-231778" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor-bayer-arra.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung GM1 48MP sensor" width="554" height="386" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor-bayer-arra.jpg 554w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor-bayer-arra-300x209.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-231778" class="wp-caption-text">Samsung GM1 48MP sensor Bayer array</figcaption></figure>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-231779" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung GM1 48MP sensor" width="720" height="263" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-GM1-48MP-sensor-300x110.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>Nevertheless, the Redmi Note 7 still offers good value for money and if you are on the lookout for a new phone right now, you should consider it. However, if you can wait, you should do so just bear it in mind that you will also be paying more for the Pro version.</p>

<p>Sony first announced the IMX586 stacked CMOS image sensor for smartphone cameras in July this year. The new sensor features 48 effective megapixels, the industry’s highest pixel count. The new product also achieved a world-first ultra-compact pixel size of 0.8 μm, making it possible to pack 48 effective megapixels onto a 1/2-type (8.0 mm diagonal) unit, thereby supporting enhanced imaging on smartphone cameras. Interestingly, the UMIDIGI S3 Pro may likely be the first device to utilise the new sensor and not a Huawei or Sony flagship. It is presently the largest you can find on a smartphone. It beats the Huawei P20 Pro 40MP sensor as well as the 41MP sensor on the good old Lumia 1020. The increased resolution should help UMIDIGI S3 Pro make for better daytime snaps as well as deliver superb shooting performance at night. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/sony-imx-586-sensor.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-222754" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/sony-imx-586-sensor.jpg?x44794" alt="UMIDIGI S3 Pro" width="840" height="413" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/sony-imx-586-sensor.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/sony-imx-586-sensor-300x148.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/sony-imx-586-sensor-768x378.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px" /></a></p>

<p>Yet another spectacular feature is the massive 5150mAh battery that would be onboard the device. This is way bigger than the battery we find onboard most flagships around. The battery will ensure the phone is capable of an extended usage period. Other details of the device are still sketchy but no doubt the device holds lots of promises in various aspects. Hopefully, we&#8217;ll find out more details in the coming days.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-222756" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro-576x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="UMIDIGI S3 Pro" width="576" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/S3-Pro.jpg 1152w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></a></p>

Today, the Japan-based company has announced a new imaging sensor &#8212; Sony IMX586, which supports resolution of 48 effective megapixels, which <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sony/">Sony</a> says is the highest in the industry for smartphones.</p>
<p>The IMX586 image sensor, made for the smartphones and other portable devices, is claimed to have the world&#8217;s smallest pixel size of 0.8μm, making it possible to pack 48 effective megapixels onto a 1/2-type unit.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-202605 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/sony-imx586-image-sensor.jpg?x44794" alt="Sony IMX586 Image Sensor" width="1000" height="890" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/sony-imx586-image-sensor.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/sony-imx586-image-sensor-300x267.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/sony-imx586-image-sensor-768x684.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></p>
<p>Further, it comes integrated with Sony’s exposure control technology and signal processing functionality directly into the image sensor. This enables real-time output with a much better dynamic range that is four times greater than conventional units.</p>
<p>The new sensor also uses the Quad Bayer color filter array, where adjacent 2×2 pixels come in the same color, which allows for a higher sensitivity shooting. The sensor can also be devised to use signals from four adjacent pixels during low light, resulting in increased sensitivity. The company is promising that the Sony IMX586 will provide brighter images with lower noise regardless of the lighting conditions.</p>
<p>In a statement, Sony said:</p>
<blockquote><p>This product was designed and manufactured with techniques that improve light collection efficiency and photoelectric conversion efficiency over conventional products, resulting in the world’s first 0.8 μm pixel size, with both high sensitivity and high saturation signal level.</p></blockquote>
<p>It is also capable of recording full frame at 30 frames per second and can also record 4K videos (4096×2160) at 90 frames per second. Currently, all the major flagship smartphones in the market are capable of recording 4K videos at 60 frames per second.</p>

<p>The Sony IMX586 is priced at 3,000 Japanese Yen, which roughly converts to $27 and will start shipping the CMOS image sensor in September this year. However, the company has not revealed when we&#8217;ll be able to see the sensor packed in a smartphone.</p>
