Vivo is bringing back its S series to India after a long break, and the company just dropped the first official look at the upcoming S2. The exact launch date still isn’t locked in by Vivo, but the promo material is already hinting at a premium design and solid performance, so interest is starting to build.

The original Vivo S1 launched in 2019 and arrived in India later that year. Recent reports have been pointing to an August 6 launch for the S2, though Vivo India’s official channels are still just saying “coming soon.” A dedicated Amazon microsite finally gives us a clear view of the design, which takes clear cues from the Vivo X300 FE. Unlike that phone, though, the S2 skips the ZEISS branding and sticks with a dual rear camera instead of a triple setup.

Vivo hasn’t shared a full specs sheet yet, but it’s highlighting four main points: a flagship-inspired design, strong performance, solid photo and video capabilities, and an immersive audio-visual experience. The clean rear design with a horizontal dual-camera module and curved surfaces is clearly meant to make the S2 look more premium than a typical mid-range phone.

According to the current rumors, the Vivo S2 could run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset, with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Other claimed features include a 6.59-inch 1.5K 120Hz curved OLED display, a big 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 50MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide. If those numbers hold up, the S2 would sit nicely in the upper mid-range price segment. Just keep in mind that some reports have floated the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and a 50MP periscope telephoto, so nothing is fully confirmed yet.

Bringing the S series back after such a long gap suggests Vivo wants to diversify its smartphone portfolio and target more segments of India’s crowded smartphone market.

As more official details drop ahead of the expected early August launch, the key things to watch will be the confirmed chipset, pricing, and how the cameras actually perform. Vivo has released a new budget smartphone in India, the T5e. It is a 4G device and focuses primarily on battery capacity and basic durability for everyday use.

Vivo T5e Specifications

The phone features a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The resolution is 1600 x 720, and the panel reaches a peak brightness of 570 nits. Vivo has included a few software adjustments for the display, such as adaptive brightness and a blue light reduction mode intended for nighttime use.

Under the hood, the T5e is powered by a 12nm Unisoc T7225 octa-core processor. It comes in a single configuration featuring 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

You can expand the storage via a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 2TB. The phone runs OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, and includes several AI-powered tools for document scanning and text summarization.

The camera hardware is basic, consisting of an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Rather than adding secondary camera lenses, Vivo included a high-output flashlight with four adjustable brightness levels, along with a speaker tuned for higher volume output.

The device is equipped with a 5,500mAh battery that Vivo claims can maintain over 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. It supports 15W charging and reverse charging functionality.

Vivo has finally unveiled the Vivo X300e, which has been in the news for the past few days. It is the fifth X300 series phone to debut in China after the Vivo X300, Vivo X300 Pro, Vivo X300s, and Vivo X300 Ultra. While the Vivo X300 FE is also part of the global X300 lineup, it has not been released in China. The new Vivo X300e arrives with flagship hardware, a ZEISS-backed camera setup, a massive battery, and a premium display. Here is everything the device brings along with its pricing details.

Vivo X300e specifications and features

The Vivo X300e features a 6.59-inch AMOLED flat display with a 2750 x 1260 pixel resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colors, P3 wide color gamut support, and up to 2,000Hz instant touch sampling in supported games. It also includes 4320Hz PWM dimming, AI eye comfort features, SGS low blue light certification, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner that supports unlocking even with wet fingers.

Although Vivo hasn’t acknowledged it, previously leaked materials have confirmed that the brand is working on the Vivo S2 for the Indian market. Hands-on photos of the phone’s dummy unit have now surfaced online, thanks to an X leak. 

The images show a handset with a matte black rear panel, a vertical camera module tucked in the top-left corner, and a sticker that confirms the “Vivo S2” name. A separate photo places the black unit next to a rose-gold model.

The rear camera setup has two circular lenses close together at the top, while a third round sensor with a light ring around it is placed a bit further down the same module. 

The leak also says the device will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 processor, a 50MP OIS main camera with 8MP ultrawide, and a 1.5K AMOLED display that refreshes at 120Hz.

What else do we know?

We have earlier reported that the Vivo S2 has surfaced with model number V2576 in an IMEI database listing.

The S2 marks the return of Vivo’s S-series to India after a long gap. The original tip about the S-series comeback surfaced back in May, when a tipster first flagged that Vivo was working on new S2 series phones for the Indian market. At the time, details on the chipset and specs were still unclear.

More recently, we reported that the Vivo S2 is tipped to launch in early August, while sales are expected to start around mid-August. The report placed the phone in the premium mid-range segment, going up against phones like the Oppo Reno 16 Pro. 

The original Vivo S1, launched in 2019, came with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED screen and a MediaTek Helio P65 chip, priced under Rs. 18,000. The new S2 is expected to bring notably better hardware, though Vivo hasn’t confirmed the chipset yet.

Vivo‘s X300e is just a day away from its official China debut, and a new listing on the China Telecom website has now revealed nearly the complete spec sheet for the device. The company had already confirmed the phone’s design and pre-orders earlier this month, and this fresh leak fills in most of the remaining details before the phone goes on sale.

Vivo X300e Specifications

The listing identifies the phone by its model number, V2612A. According to China Telecom, the X300e carries a 6.59-inch display and a triple rear camera setup made up of a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP secondary sensor, and an 8MP third lens, paired with a 50MP front camera for selfies. 

Memory-wise, buyers will be able to choose between 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB storage configurations.

Under the hood, the listing confirms the Vivo X300e uses a Snapdragon SM8845 chip, which is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in its marketing name. The processor was tipped for the X300e in earlier reports as well. The chip runs at speeds up to 3.8GHz across eight cores, and the phone ships with Android 16 out of the box.

Moreover, the Vivo X300e is expected to come in three color options: Moonlight White, Sunlight Orange, and Midnight Black. The China Telecom page lists the phone’s dimensions at 157.52 × 74.33 × 7.99mm, with a weight of roughly 203 grams and a glass body. The listing also confirms a 7,200mAh battery.

In the box, you can expect a power adapter, a protective case, a data cable, and a user manual. The listing also mentions NFC, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB flash-drive mode, fingerprint recognition, and over-the-air update support, though full details on these features remain unclear. The 8GB+128GB version is listed in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White shades with an apparent price of Rs 38,000 (~$395). The same storage option also appears in demo units. Meanwhile, the 8GB+256GB variant is shown in the same three color options with a listed price of Rs 42,000 (~$437).

Interestingly, the retail listing also includes another set of 8GB+128GB variants in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White carrying a price tag of Rs 43,000 (~$447). It remains unclear whether these entries represent a different edition, revised pricing, or another sales channel. Since Vivo has not confirmed the details, the leaked pricing should be treated with caution.

Poco is reportedly working on the Poco F9 series of smartphones. According to a report by XimiTime, two F9 series devices have emerged in the GSMA IMEI database, revealing their model numbers and monikers. At the same time, these devices have also received certifications in multiple countries, indicating that their global launch could be fast approaching.

Poco F9 Ultra, Poco F9 Pro global launch may be near

The GSMA IMEI database listings reveal that the upcoming Poco F9 Pro carries the model number 2607APCA5G, while the Poco F9 Ultra has the model number 26077PC53G. These devices are expected to launch globally, including in the EEA, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, Russia, and Japan. While India is a major market for Poco, it is unlikely to receive the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra.

Apart from surfacing in the IMEI database, both devices have also appeared on Indonesia’s SDPPI and Singapore’s IMDA certification platforms. This is earlier than expected, considering that the Poco F8 Ultra and F8 Pro were spotted on IMDA and Thailand’s NBTC certification platform in October before going official in November.

The Redmi K100 series is expected to debut in China in August. Since the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra are expected to be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered Redmi K100 series, the F9 lineup could break cover globally as early as October.

Vivo X500 certified in Indonesia

A recent report revealed that the global version of the Vivo X500 has appeared in the GSMA IMEI database. More recently, the Vivo X500 Pro Max was approved by Indonesia’s TKDN certification platform, and now the Vivo X500 has also surfaced in the same database. In addition, the X500, carrying the model number V2610, has appeared on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification platform.

For those unaware, the TKDN certification measures the percentage of locally sourced Indonesian components in a product, while the SDPPI certification confirms that a device complies with Indonesia’s telecommunications and radio equipment standards before it can be sold in the country.

As usual, none of these certifications reveal any specifications. However, since the global Vivo X500 models have already started appearing on certification platforms, it appears that their global launch could take place around a month after the China debut, which is expected in September.

The camera on the back also looks quite capable. It reportedly includes a 50MP main sensor paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP IMX8 periscope camera for zoom shots. As expected of the X series, the cameras will come with Zeiss imaging tuning, which should improve color accuracy and optical quality.

Moving on, the X300e is said to pack a large 7200mAh battery, along with 90W fast charging support. That is a sizeable capacity for a phone that is expected to measure just 7.99mm thick and weigh around 203 grams.

Design-wise, the leak suggests a square camera island on the left, along with metal frames wrapping the body. There is also a possibility of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, though this detail is not fully confirmed yet.

Vivo has rolled out a new budget phone in China called the Y6c 4G. It’s already available for purchase in mainland China, and the company is keeping things simple this time, offering just one memory configuration at launch.

The phone runs on a 12nm based Unisoc T7225 octa-core processor that mixes two powerful A75 cores with six efficiency-focused A55 cores, topping out at 1.8GHz, and pairs with an Arm Mali-G57 GPU to handle graphics. 

Display-wise, the Y6c 4G gets a 6.74-inch LCD panel with a waterdrop notch and 1600×720 resolution. It supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and can hit 1200 nits of brightness. Vivo also secured TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue-light emissions.

The Y6c is running on a large 6500mAh cell, which Vivo says can stay healthy for up to five years of regular use. Charging comes through a 15W wired connection. Vivo used the same 6500mAh capacity on the Y60, so battery longevity appears to be a consistent theme across this budget lineup.

On the camera front, the phone keeps things basic with an 8MP main rear shooter and a 5MP front camera for selfies. 

The device also has SGS’s five-star rating for drop and impact resistance, along with an IP65 rating that shields it from dust and water splashes. Vivo Y6c’s extra features include boosted 150% volume output, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and OriginOS 6 running on top of Android 16. The leak indicates that Vivo’s engineering team is still comparing the strengths and trade-offs of each sensor. A larger sensor could deliver improved light gathering and image quality at long focal lengths, although it would also require a more complex and space-intensive camera module. The smaller alternatives may offer a better balance between imaging performance, device thickness, and overall camera design.

While the Vivo X Fold 5 made its global debut in July 2025, its successor has neither been officially teased nor spotted on any certification platform until now. In a new development, the global variant of the Vivo X Fold 6 has received an important certification, indicating that its international launch could be inching near.

Vivo X Fold 6 SDPPI certified

As can be seen above, the Vivo X Fold 6 with model number V2559 has emerged in the database of Indonesia’s SDDPI certification platform. This is the first time the device has appeared in the global certification database. While the listing has no information about the device’s specifications, but those should mirror the already available Chinese variant.

The V2559 was previously spotted at Europe’s EEC certification back in April, but it is only through the SDPPI listing that its final marketing name has been confirmed.

Vivo X Fold 6 specifications

According to DCS, Vivo is testing a compact flagship smartphone powered by MediaTek’s upcoming 2nm Dimensity chipset, which is expected to debut in the Vivo X500 Pro or Vivo X500 Pro Mini. While the official name of the chip is not yet known, it is expected to be called the Dimensity 9600 Pro. The tipster also claims that the standard Dimensity 9600 will be a 3nm chip and essentially an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9500. This chipset is likely to power the standard Vivo X500.

Coming back to the X500 Pro, it is currently said to feature a battery in the 6,500mAh to 6,600mAh range, although the final capacity has not yet been decided. Vivo is reportedly aiming to push it closer to the 7,000mAh mark.

DCS adds that fitting a larger battery has been challenging because the phone is expected to pack premium camera hardware, including a 64-megapixel 85mm periscope telephoto camera and a large LOFIC primary sensor.

A previous leak revealed that the X500 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel 1/1.28-inch main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. This suggests that the device will not include a 200-megapixel camera. The tipster added that accommodating these imaging components while increasing battery capacity has created significant internal space constraints.

Previous reports have revealed that the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a 6.37-inch OLED LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution and possibly a 144Hz refresh rate. The leak comes from X tipster Sanju Choudhary, who also shared some of the key specifications. The device reportedly packs a 6.59″ flat AMOLED panel, the same as last year, but with the refresh rate bumped up to 144Hz from 120Hz on the V70. That should enable 144fps gameplay in supported titles.

On the performance side, the V80 apparently retains the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset that powered the last two generations. The V70 offered a modest improvement over its predecessor, with Geekbench tests showing roughly a 14% increase in multi-core scores while single-core performance remained almost unchanged. Battery life has traditionally been one of the biggest compromises on compact smartphones, but the Vivo X300 FE completely changes that perception.

Its 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery is remarkably large for a phone this size, and it translates into excellent real-world endurance. Throughout my testing, the phone comfortably lasted an entire day regardless of whether I was taking photos, streaming videos, browsing social media, navigating with Google Maps, or responding to emails. Even after a busy day, there was usually plenty of battery left before bedtime.

Users with moderate usage can realistically stretch it into a second day, while heavier users should still have no trouble making it through a full day without worrying about carrying a charger.

The bundled 90W FlashCharge adapter tops up the battery quickly, making even a short charging session worthwhile before heading out. Vivo has also added 40W wireless charging, a feature that’s still missing on several compact flagship phones.

Simply put, the battery is one of the X300 FE’s biggest highlights. It’s difficult to think of another compact flagship that combines this level of endurance with such a manageable form factor.

OriginOS 6 Feels More Mature Than Ever

The Vivo X300 FE ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, and it delivers one of Vivo’s most polished software experiences yet. The company promises five years of Android OS updates and seven years of security updates, making the X300 FE a far better long-term investment.

The interface feels fast and fluid throughout, backed by smooth animations and responsive touch interactions. More importantly, the software stays out of the way. Apps launch quickly, multitasking is seamless, and I didn’t encounter any bugs or stability issues during my time with the device.

Like every modern flagship, the X300 FE includes plenty of AI-powered features, but Vivo has focused on tools that are genuinely useful. AI Retouch includes features like AI Erase, AI Reflection Erase, AI Image Expander, and AI Magic Move, all of which make quick photo edits surprisingly easy without relying on third-party apps.

Origin Island is another thoughtful addition, displaying timers, navigation updates, music playback, and other background activities in a clean, glanceable interface.

There’s also the Vivo Office Kit for seamless file sharing with Windows PCs and Macs, alongside Gemini integration, AI Search, AI Creation, and DocMaster for productivity tasks.

Cameras Continue to Be a Major Strength

Vivo has built a strong reputation for smartphone photography, and the X300 FE continues that trend.

The rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 3x telephoto camera, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. On the front, there’s a 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera. Combined with ZEISS optics and image processing, the overall experience is among the strongest you’ll find in a compact flagship.

The primary camera consistently captures detailed images with balanced colors and an impressive dynamic range. HDR processing is handled intelligently, preserving highlights without making scenes look unnatural. Autofocus is quick, shutter response is fast, and photos rarely appear over-processed, making the camera dependable across almost every lighting condition.

Portrait photography remains one of Vivo’s biggest strengths. The ZEISS partnership isn’t just marketing; it genuinely improves the experience. Five portrait focal lengths provide plenty of creative flexibility, while edge detection is consistently accurate and skin tones remain natural. The various ZEISS bokeh styles also make portraits look more refined than those captured on many competing phones.

The dedicated 3x telephoto camera adds another layer of versatility. Whether shooting portraits or distant subjects, it delivers sharp, detailed images with excellent colour consistency. Even after sunset, the telephoto camera performs better than many competing flagship phones, making it genuinely useful rather than simply ticking a specification box.

Low-light photography is equally impressive. The primary sensor captures bright, detailed photos while preserving much of the scene’s natural ambience instead of artificially turning night into day. Noise remains well controlled, and exposure is generally balanced across different lighting conditions.

Video recording is another highlight. The phone supports up to 8K recording along with 4K at up to 120fps, although 4K at 60fps will likely be the sweet spot for most users. Footage looks detailed, stabilisation is reliable, and exposure transitions remain smooth while moving between different lighting conditions.

The 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera also delivers consistently sharp images with natural skin tones. Autofocus makes group selfies easier by keeping faces sharp even when the phone is held farther away.

The only noticeable weakness is the ultrawide camera. While it performs reasonably well during the day, the 8MP sensor simply doesn’t match the quality of the other cameras. Images lose detail more quickly, dynamic range isn’t as impressive, and low-light performance falls behind. Considering the premium price, this is the one area where the camera system feels compromised

Is the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Worth It?

One feature that sets the Vivo X300 FE apart from most rivals is support for Vivo’s optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2.

The accessory extends the optical reach to an equivalent focal length of around 200mm, allowing you to capture distant subjects with noticeably better detail than digital zoom alone. During my time with it, the extender worked exactly as advertised and produced impressive results.

That said, it isn’t something every buyer needs.

If you regularly photograph wildlife, birds, concerts, sporting events, or distant architecture, the extender can be a worthwhile investment. For everyone else, the built-in 3x telephoto camera is already excellent for everyday photography. At Rs. 15,999, it’s best viewed as an enthusiast accessory rather than an essential purchase.

Verdict: A Compact Flagship That Stands on Its Own

The Vivo X300 FE is a phone that makes more sense the longer you use it.

Yes, its pricing initially feels confusing. At Rs. 79,999, it’s actually more expensive than the regular Vivo X300, which offers a stronger overall camera system. If camera performance is your only priority, the X300 remains the more sensible purchase.

However, that’s also missing the point of the X300 FE.

This isn’t designed to be a cheaper flagship. Instead, Vivo has built a premium smartphone for people who value comfort as much as specifications. It combines flagship performance, exceptional battery life, dependable ZEISS cameras, wireless charging, premium build quality, and long software support in a form factor that’s genuinely comfortable to use every day.

It’s not without flaws. The 8MP ultrawide camera feels underwhelming at this price, and the optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender is aimed at a niche audience rather than everyday users.

Even so, the overall package is difficult to fault. There simply aren’t many compact Android flagships that offer this combination of portability, battery life, performance, and camera quality.

If you’ve been waiting for a flagship that fits comfortably in one hand without sacrificing the features that matter most, the Vivo X300 FE stands in a category of its own. It may not have the absolute best camera hardware in Vivo’s lineup, but as an everyday flagship that’s a pleasure to carry and use, it succeeds remarkably well.

Overall verdict

The Vivo X300 FE proves that compact smartphones no longer have to feel like compromises. It delivers flagship performance, outstanding battery life, a refined software experience, and cameras that are among the best in its class, all in a size that’s genuinely practical. While the pricing and ultrawide camera leave room for debate, neither is enough to overshadow what Vivo has achieved. For anyone looking for a premium Android flagship that prioritises everyday usability over sheer size, the X300 FE is arguably the most complete option currently available.

Vivo launched the X Fold 6 foldable smartphone in China on June 26, and as we covered in our launch article, the phone starts at 7,999 yuan (~$1,175) for the base 12GB+256GB model. It brings some serious hardware to the table, a 200MP ZEISS main camera, a Dimensity 9500 chip, a massive 7,000mAh battery, and both inner and outer AMOLED displays hitting up to 5,000 nits. 

But if you’re dropping that kind of money on a foldable, you probably want to know what repairs will cost if something goes wrong. Well, Vivo has now published the official pricing for repair parts on its website.

Vivo X Fold 6 Repair Price

As expected with any foldable phone, the inner screen is the most expensive part to replace. The internal screen is priced at 3,780 yuan (~$556), though Vivo is offering a 25% discount for the first repair, bringing it down to 2,835 yuan (~$417). 

There’s also a reserved (pre-booked) price of 3,380 yuan (~$497) for those who plan ahead. If only the single inner screen panel needs replacing (not the full component), that comes in at 1,899 yuan (~$279).

The outer screen is significantly cheaper. The external screen glass repair costs just 299 yuan (~$44), while a full external screen component replacement is 920 yuan (~$135). A reserved-price option is available for 620 yuan (~$91).

The battery replacement is reasonably priced at 259 yuan (~$38) while camera repairs vary depending on the module:

• Front-facing camera: 105 yuan (~$15)
• Rear wide-angle camera: 110 yuan (~$16)

Reports have revealed that the upcoming Vivo X500 series will include four models, such as the X500e, X500, X500 Pro (or Pro Mini), and X500 Pro Max. Except for the X500e, all of the other models are said to be powered by the upcoming Dimensity 9600-series chip. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), has revealed the key specifications of the X500e for the first time.

Vivo X500e key specifications tipped

According to DCS, Vivo is preparing to launch a new e-branded phone in the X500 series. The leak reveals that the device could feature a 6.59-inch compact display and a Snapdragon 8-series chip. While the tipster did not specify the name of the phone, it appears that he could be referring to the Vivo X500e.

He further revealed that the device will feature a top-left square camera module housing ZEISS-tuned cameras. This means it will be sport a different design as compared to the other X500 models, which are expected to sport a round camera module. While the camera details remain under wraps, the device is tipped to include an IMX8-series periscope telephoto camera with a large sensor.

No launch timeline or additional specifications have been revealed yet. Hence, it is unclear whether the device will launch alongside the other Dimensity 9600-series-powered X500 models that are expected to break cover in September. Considering the fact that the phone is said to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip, it may not launch alongside the other X500 models.

The more likely launch timeline for the X500e appears to be alongside the Vivo X500 Ultra, which is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. Hence, it appears that the X500e and X500 Ultra may debut together in the first half of 2027. However, it is too early to make any conclusions.

Vivo X500 FE’s existence in limbo

To recall, the China-exclusive Vivo S50 Pro Mini was rebranded as the Vivo X300 FE in global markets. The brand recently released the Vivo S60 series, comprising the S60 and S60e (also known as the Vitality Edition), in China. Surprisingly, Vivo skipped the S60 Pro Mini, and it is being said that the Vivo X500e will launch in its place in China.

As there may not be an S60 Pro Mini this time, it appears there may not be a Vivo X500 FE either, as the brand could launch the X500e in both China and global markets. Again, this is only an assumption, and readers should take rumors about the X500 FE’s non-existence with a pinch of salt.
