Now, in the latest development, a Weibo user Instant Digital having a mixed track record has revealed details about the Capture button.

iPhone 16 may have DSLR-like capture button

As per Instant Digital, the Capture button on the iPhone 16 will be capable of detecting multiple levels of pressure. This is similar to the two-step buttons on digital cameras. Its main function will be to trigger an image or video capture. However, a light or halfway press will enable the user to lock and adjust focus. This would offer great convenience compared to pressing a finger on the display to lock focus on the subject so that the image doesn’t come out blurry. A recent report also revealed that the Capture button could also support zoom in and out function.

Some Sony Xperia phones already feature two-stage shutter buttons. A dedicated Capture button lets users take photos quickly. The Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro models can only be programmed to launch the camera app. The Weibo user also adds that Apple adding the Capture button on the iPhone 16 indicates the company’s emphasis on photography with the next-generation offerings. It could become a beneficial addition to serious photographers and videographers.

It remains to be seen if the Capture button will make its way to all iPhone 16 models. Early renders of the iPhone 16 Pro’s revealed the dedicated button on the bottom right side.

Asus has launched a new budget laptop in India. It is a Chromebook designed for productivity.

Officially called Asus Chromebook CM14, the notebook is well-suited for education and office work. The device arrives in multiple variants, however, India gets a single model.

The laptop is powered by an ARM chip and offers a feature set that’s impressive for its asking price. It was unveiled at CES 2024.

Asus Chromebook CM14 Specifications

The notebook is built around a 14-inch 16:9 display. The variant released in India sports an LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD), a 60Hz refresh rate, 45% NTSC color gamut, and 220 nits peak brightness level.

The computer is run by a MediaTek Kompanio 520 SoC. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. On the software front, it boots ChromeOS with support for Android and Linux applications.

The laptop comes with a spill-resistant chiclet keyboard offering a 1.5mm key travel. Its body is MIL-STD 810H US military-compliant for durability.

As for wireless connectivity, the notebook arrives with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Ports on it include 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (support power delivery and display out), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MicroSD card reader.

The computer sports a 720p HD webcam with a privacy shutter. It also comes with a Titan C security chip and a Kensington nano security slot.

Last but not least, the device is backed by a 42Whr battery and supports 45W charging.

Apple announced iOS 17 at WWDC last year. The rollout of the latest operating system for iPhones across the world started last October. The software version comes with a host of new features and changes. Now, on Apple’s Developer website, the company has revealed the adoption statistics of the iOS 17 OS on all eligible devices. It is happening slower than the iOS 16.

iOS 17 adoption is slower than iOS 16

The statistics data released by Apple is measured by devices that transacted on the App Store until February 4, 2024. It was first spotted by MacRumors. This is also the first time Apple has provided installation numbers of iOS 17.

As per the data, 76 percent of iPhones released in the last four years run on iOS 17. 20 percent of the same devices are still on iOS 16 while the remaining four percent are on an even earlier operating system. Meanwhile of all active iPhones eligible for iOS 17, only 66 percent are running the latest version. 23 and 11 percent of iPhones are on iOS 16 and older respectively.

The data suggests that iOS 17 is lagging behind iOS 16 in terms of adoption. Around this time last year, 81 percent of all iPhones in the last four years were running on iOS 16. Apple has released three major updates to the iOS 17 so far with another one expected to arrive in March.

Alongside iOS 17, Apple has also shared data on the iPadOS 17’s adoption progress. 61 percent of iPads introduced in the last four years have the latest software version installed. 29 percent are still running iPadOS 16 while the rest 10 percent have an older version.

Samsung is set to renew its whole mid-range smartphone fleet with the launch of several new smartphones, including the Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35, Galaxy M55, Galaxy F55, and several others. Most of the upcoming Samsung smartphones are making the rounds on public certification websites across the globe. The Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A45 have already appeared on BIS India, Bluetooth SIG, FCC, Indonesia’s TKDN, and Korea’s NRRA. Moving a step ahead, the Galaxy A55 5G has made it to Indonesia’s NBTC and China’s MIIT certification with model codes SM-A556E and SM-A5560, respectively.

Both listings fail to impress, as they hardly reveal anything related to the features and specifications. The listing does confirm the smartphone’s impending launch in the respective countries.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Features and Specifications (Rumored)

Apart from the public certifications, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G has been spotted on Geekbench with the Exynos 1480 SoC. It appears with four different performance cores with a clocking speed of 2.5 GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.05 GHz. The listing also reveals the presence of an Xclipse 530 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and Android 14. The TUV Rheinland, 3C, and FCC certifications confirm the presence of a 25W fast charging adapter, the EP-TA800.

Based on the previous leaks and rumors, the smartphone could feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ OLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It could come with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5 MP macro camera. There will be a 32 MP front sensor for selfies and a camera.

Samsung Galaxy A55 renders were also leaked, unveiling the design details without any significant change in comparison with its predecessor. It follows the same design language with vertical cameras, flat edges, and a punch-hole display. It is expected to debut in three color options: Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy.

The smartphone could launch alongside the Galaxy A35 by Q2 2024. We have to wait for some more time before we get any official information. Until then, we expect details to surface via leaks and rumors in the coming few weeks.

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro arrives in the Indian market on 22nd February 2024. This model is set to go on pre-orders soon, and now, a known tipster has revealed the pricing for this model as well as its special launch offers. So here’s everything you need to know.

The rumored pricing was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Mukul Sharma. He claimed that the iQOO Neo 9 Pro will launch for a starting price tag of 37,999 INR for its 8GB + 256GB storage configuration. The tipster also leaked the effective price tag of 34,999 INR, after the 3,000 INR bank offer. This discount will likely be offered on launch. iQOO will kick off pre-orders for the upcoming smartphone on 8th February 2024.

The pre-booking starts tomorrow at 12 PM IST for a refundable amount of 1,000 INR. Early buyers that pre-book this handset get an additional discount of 1,000 INR, various offers on launch day, and a 2 year warranty. For a sub 35K INR price tag, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro undercuts the OnePlus 12R, which is seeing positive reception in the region as it sold out in mere hours.

For those unaware, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. At the end of last week, Lava unveiled an entry-level smartphone in India. The device officially goes by Lava Yuva 3.

It is now up for sale in the country as scheduled. It comes in two memory configurations and three color options.

The Lava Yuva 3 carries the following price tags in India.

It can be availed in either Eclipse Black, Cosmic Lavender, or Galaxy White color options.

Lava Yuva 3 Specifications

The Lava Yuva 3 features an iPhone-inspired design. It has a flat frame the cameras are aligned in a triangular fashion.

The phone sports a 6.5-inch centered punch-hole display. The LCD panel offers a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the smartphone houses a Unisoc T606 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery. The chipset is paired with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

In October 2023, Vivo announced the Vivo Y200 5G smartphone, equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip, in India. Recent reports have revealed that the brand is working on a new phone dubbed the Vivo Y200 5G. The said device was recently spotted at the Bluetooth SIG certification and Geekbench. Now, 91mobiles has spotted the Google Play Console listing of the Vivo Y200e 5G.

The Vivo Y200e 5G’s Play Console listing has an image of the device. As can be seen, it has revealed the front and rear design of the smartphone. On the front, it has a punch-hole screen and the blue-colored back panel has a rectangle module housing three cameras and an LED flash.

The overall design of the phone is like the Vivo Y200 5G. However, one significant difference is that the Y200 5G has a dual-camera setup, whereas the Y200e has an extra camera.

The Play Console listing mentions that the model number of the device as V2327. Just as the Geekbench listing did, the Play Console listing reveals that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip. The SoC is mentioned with the model number SM4450 in the listing.

It further reveals that the Y200e 5G has an FHD+ display, but it is not clear whether it has an AMOLED or LCD panel. Most likely, it will have an AMOLED screen like the Y200. In addition, the listing reveals that the device has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The appearance of the Y200e 5G at Play Console, Geekbench, and Bluetooth SIG suggests that its launch is imminent. The phone may debut either by the end of this month or in March.

The Chinese tech giant’s Redmi A 3 will be unveiled in the region on 14th February 2024. A dedicated microsite has also gone live on the brand’s official Indian website, which reveals certain specs. The upcoming device will offer a display with a 90Hz refresh rate and will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack. Design elements of the Redmi A3 were also teased, showcasing a premium Halo design.

In other words, the rear packs a circular camera island that houses the image sensors and LED flash module. The teaser hints at a green color option.
