Vivo X300 FE sees another price hike in India, now starts at ₹89,999

Vivo has quietly bumped up the price of its compact flagship again, so anyone still thinking about buying one is looking at a noticeably higher tag than what was advertised a few months ago.

The X300 FE launched in May at ₹79,999 for the 12GB + 256GB version and ₹89,999 for the 12GB + 512GB model. Then in July, it went up once, to ₹86,999 and ₹96,999. Now there’s a second hike of another ₹3,000, taking the 12GB + 256GB to ₹89,999 and the 12GB + 512GB to ₹99,999 on Flipkart and Vivo’s website.

As of writing, Amazon is still listing the two variants at their previous prices of ₹86,999 and ₹96,999. That means the base model is now ₹10,000 more expensive than at launch on Flipkart and Vivo’s website, with no extra hardware to show for it.

Vivo is reportedly adding a new 8GB + 256GB option at ₹84,999, which becomes the cheapest way into the X300 FE range. At the same time, the regular X300 has basically disappeared from the Indian market. It launched at ₹75,999 back in December, but it’s been out of stock on Flipkart, Amazon, and vivo’s own site for weeks, and there’s no sign of it coming back. For all practical purposes, it’s discontinued.

For context, here’s what you’re actually getting. The X300 FE is a compact flagship built around a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display (1.5K resolution, 120Hz, peak brightness up to 5,000 nits). It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The battery is a hefty 6,500mAh unit that supports 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

With the X300 FE now starting at ₹89,999 and the X300 Pro having taken its own ₹10,000 jump to ₹1,19,999, the brand no longer has a flagship option in that original sub-₹80,000 space the X300 used to fill.

For anyone planning to get the Vivo X300 FE, it might be a good time to check Amazon before the price is updated there as well. And if you’re looking for a better-value option in Vivo’s lineup that still carries a premium tag, the X200T could be worth checking out. You can still find it for around ₹59,999, and it comes with a Dimensity 9400+ chipset, a triple 50MP Zeiss camera setup, a 6,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging, plus five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches.

Xiaomi launches new portable ice maker with 6-8 minute ice-making and UV cleaning

Xiaomi has added a new countertop ice maker to its Mijia home appliance brand. The device is currently available for crowdfunding on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for 359 yuan ($53), with regular sales scheduled to begin on August 17.

The appliance is designed to take up minimal space. It measures 290 x 260 x 210 mm and weighs 6.1 kg, giving it a footprint similar to an A4 sheet of paper. This size makes it practical for standard kitchen counters, office breakrooms, or small bar areas where space is limited. It operates at a rated power of 110W, which means it can also be powered by a standard car inverter for use outside the home.

For ice production, the machine makes eight cubes per cycle and includes two specific settings: Quick Ice and Standard Ice. The Quick Ice mode produces a batch in about six to eight minutes. The Standard Ice setting takes longer but creates larger, clearer cubes.

According to Xiaomi, the machine uses a freezing process that reduces air bubbles and impurities. This denser ice takes about seven minutes to fully melt in 300ml of water, which is useful for drinks like cold-brew coffee, cocktails, or whiskey where slower dilution is preferred.

The internal hardware includes a 1-liter water tank and a removable 0.75-liter ice basket. The basket holds between 64 and 80 cubes at a time. When running continuously over a 24-hour period, the machine can produce up to 13 kg of ice. It uses R600a refrigerant for cooling and is designed to be used with purified or filtered drinking water.

Xiaomi also included standard maintenance and convenience features. There is a built-in UV lamp for sterilization and a self-cleaning mode. Pressing and holding the Ice Making and Reservation buttons for three seconds runs a five-minute cleaning cycle, after which the water can be drained through a side plug.

The control panel relies on simple LED indicators to show water levels, UV status, and the current ice mode. It also has a scheduling feature, allowing users to delay ice production by three, five, or eight hours so a full basket is ready at a specific time. It also features a transparent window on the top lid that lets users check the ice level without opening the machine, and there is a dedicated compartment to store the included ice scoop.

Xiaomi launches Mijia No-Mist Humidifier 3 (1500mL/h) with 6L water tank, modular design for easy cleaning

Unlike the usual ultrasonic humidifiers that shoot out visible mist, the newly launched Mijia No-Mist Humidifier 3 (1500mL/h) works with pure natural evaporation. As the name suggests, it can put out up to 1,500 mL of moisture per hour without any fog. It’s a better fit for larger living spaces.

It has a 6-liter water tank treated with silver ions for solid antibacterial protection, and on a full fill it should run for around 10 hours. In sleep mode the display dims on its own and the noise drops to a quiet 31.5 dB(A). You can tweak things further in the Mi Home app, including automatic screen-off and muted notifications.

Hygiene seems to be a big focus. The humidification filter uses antibacterial fiber with a safe antimicrobial coating that helps resist mold, and you can wash it by hand to keep odors down. There’s also a separate water-purification filter that catches dust and other junk that builds up in the tank. The whole thing is modular, so you can easily take apart the filter cartridge, impeller, water tank, and pump for a proper clean.

On top there’s a digital display that shows the current indoor humidity and how much water is left. High-precision sensors automatically adjust the output to keep the humidity steady at whatever level you set. You can control it remotely through the Mi Home app, set a preferred humidity level, and use a 24-hour timer. Xiao Ai voice commands work for hands-free control, and it plays nice with other smart devices like air conditioners, heaters, and door locks for automated routines.

This 1,500 mL/h version sits at the top of Xiaomi’s current Mijia no-mist range, with smaller 400 mL/h, 600 mL/h, and 800mL/h models previously available.

Pricing and availability

The Mijia No-Mist Humidifier 3 (1500mL/h) is already listed on Xiaomi Youpin with a crowdfunding price of 899 yuan. Sales and crowdfunding kick off on August 17 in the home country.

Google Pixel 11 Pro XL Geekbench listing shows Tensor G6 performance numbers

Google is just a couple of days away from the Pixel 11 series launch, and if you’ve been waiting to see how Google’s next flagship chip performs, we have some early numbers to look at. A Google Pixel 11 Pro XL has shown up on Geekbench with the Tensor G6 chip.

The listing shows Pixel 11 Pro XL scoring 2,112 points in single-core and 5196 points in multi-core tests. Compared to the Tensor G5, the numbers don’t really show a jump in performance, but the actual devices might post higher figures. 

The benchmark also confirms that the Tensor G6 is a 7-core chip. You get two cores at 2.65GHz, four cores at 3.38GHz, and one core running at 4.11GHz. This matches earlier reports about the chip’s core configuration, so the layout itself isn’t a surprise at this point.

This isn’t the first time a 7-core Tensor chip has shown up on Geekbench. An earlier listing from February posted much lower scores: 845 single-core and 2,657 multi-core. The listing was from very early hardware, since the numbers were well below what a modern flagship chip would be expected to hit. 

The new scores are a sizable jump from that earlier result, though they still don’t show notable improvements over Tensor G5.

On the memory side, the listing shows 16GB of RAM, in line with what’s expected from a Pro XL model. Graphics duties go to a PowerVR C-Series CXTP-48-1536 GPU, which has already been mentioned in previous leaks. On the software side is new Android 17.

LG launches xboom Blast party speaker with 220W output, 36 hours of playback

Just over a month after announcing the portable Boom and Grab speakers, LG today added a new speaker to its xboom lineup. The xboom Blast is built for camping trips, outdoor parties, and similar settings, and it goes on sale in global markets this month.

The speaker puts out a maximum of 220W when plugged into AC power, while the output drops to 210W on battery. That’s close to what LG’s xboom Stage 501 offered late last year, so it lands in similar territory for anyone who needs volume without carrying a full PA setup.

For sound, LG is using its Signature Sound tuning on the Blast, developed again with will.i.am. Inside, it has two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers and two 20mm tweeters from Danish audio brand Peerless. 

The speaker also includes virtual sound field technology, RGB ambient lighting, and wireless pairing with other Blast units for a bigger sound setup. Design-wise, it has a fabric-wrapped body with a built-in carrying strap. 

LG fitted the Blast with a replaceable 99Wh battery rated for up to 36 hours of playback on a single charge, ahead of the 30 hours you get from the xboom Bounce LG launched in India earlier this year. If the battery runs low during a longer outing, you can swap it for a fresh one instead of waiting for a recharge.

Since it’s made for outdoor play, it’s only natural for the Blast to carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It has also passed seven military-grade durability tests, as most xboom by will.i.am speakers. The speaker also utilizes AI to automatically adjust sound settings in real time, while LG’s Space Calibration Pro adapts sound output based on the surrounding environment.

The brand has not shared the price yet.

Redmi K100 Pro Max Roundup: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

The Redmi K100 Pro Max is launching in China on August 11 — tomorrow, and Redmi has spent the past several weeks revealing nearly every major spec ahead of time.

The company posted teasers covering the design, display, chipset, battery, and camera system one at a time, rather than saving it all for the launch event. So we pretty much know what the phone offers in terms of raw hardware. The main things left to confirm are pricing and the exact memory and storage lineup. Here’s a full rundown of what Redmi has confirmed so far.

Redmi K100 Pro Max

1. A familiar look, but better screen

The K100 Pro Max retains the design language of its predecessor, so you won’t find anything jarring here if you’ve used a recent K-series phone. You get a flat metal frame, a curved rear glass panel, and a large rectangular camera module on the back. Redmi has confirmed three launch colors so far — Cabernet Red, Gold White, and Wind Chaser Blue. The red option stands out the most thanks to its deep, glossy finish.

On the front, you’re getting a 6.9-inch flat display with ultra-narrow bezels, and Redmi says the panel uses a new M11 AMOLED luminescent material that pushes peak brightness up to 4,500 nits. The panel refreshes at 185Hz, up from the 120Hz panel on the K90 Pro Max, and touch sampling is 480Hz. Redmi is pairing all of this with a dedicated D2 display chip, which should help keep frame rates steady in games.

2. Snapdragon power, plus a graphics chip

Under the hood, you’re looking at the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with an Adreno 840 GPU. Redmi claims the phone scores 4.55 million points on AnTuTu’s V11 benchmark, placing it in the same league as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Snapdragon chip works alongside that D2 graphics chip mentioned above, and Redmi says more than 30 games will natively run at 185fps on this phone.

Redmi is shipping the phone with seven antennas to avoid signal loss when you’re holding it sideways for gaming, plus two Xiaomi Surge T1+ chips built specifically to boost signal strength.

3. A battery big enough to skip a day of charging

This is arguably the headline spec. The K100 Pro Max packs a 9,070mAh battery, a real jump from the 7,560mAh cell in the K90 Pro Max. That’s one of the largest batteries you’ll find in a phone this thin, and it comes with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. You also get reverse charging in both forms — 27W wired and 22.5W wireless.

4. The camera setup

Redmi has been unusually open about the camera system, releasing full sample photos ahead of launch. You get a 200-megapixel main camera capable of shooting at a native resolution of 16,384 x 12,288 pixels, backed by a 5x periscope telephoto lens with up to 100x digital zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 17mm equivalent focal length. Together, Redmi says this covers five common focal lengths — the company has released sample shots at 17mm, 24mm, 48mm, 120mm, and 240mm to show the range.

Because the main sensor is so high-resolution, Redmi says you can crop into it for lossless 2x and 3x zoom without needing the periscope lens at all.

The K90 Pro Max, in comparison, has a triple 50-megapixel setup without a periscope lens. If you compare it to the standard Redmi K100 Pro, which is launching the same day with a smaller 50-megapixel periscope camera, the Pro Max clearly gets the more ambitious camera hardware.

5. Sound gets the Bose treatment again

Like its predecessor, the K100 Pro Max keeps the Bose-tuned audio setup, this time built around a 2.1-channel stereo system. You get two 1115D full-range speaker units plus a dedicated 1620 subwoofer built into the back of the phone.

6. What about price?

As expected, Redmi is keeping price details under wraps till launch. According to reports, the device could start at around 4,000 yuan (roughly $585), which makes it more expensive than K90 Pro Max’s 3,199 yuan launch price. Blame rising memory and chip production costs; most flagship Android phones launching this year are facing similar pressure. Redmi has said it wants to keep its price increase smaller than what rivals are charging, but exact numbers will only land during tomorrow’s event.

As for availability, Redmi is launching the K100 Pro Max only in China for now, and pre-reservations are already open through Xiaomi’s official store. The global version might come under the Poco, similar to how Redmi used the K90 Pro Max as the basis for Poco’s F8 Ultra internationally.

iQOO confirms Neo 11 Ultra’s 2K display specs ahead of launch

iQOO is gearing up to officially unveil the Neo 11 Ultra in China on August 18, and ahead of the event, the brand’s product manager has given you a detailed look at what the phone’s screen can do. 

Huihuizi, iQOO’s Product Manager, took to Weibo to share the display specifications. The phone is set to feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED panel with 2K resolution.

What makes this display stand out isn’t just the resolution, though. iQOO is using what it calls the world’s first domestically produced F2 luminescent material, built using a “micrometer-level evaporation deposition process.” 

In plain terms, this is a new way of applying the light-emitting layer on the screen, and iQOO says it pushes luminous efficiency higher than before. The efficiency gain lets the Neo 11 Ultra run a full 2K panel while apparently sipping less power than some 1.5K screens on the market, according to the product manager.

That’s a notable claim, since 1.5K panels have typically been the safer choice for battery life. If you remember, the standard iQOO Neo 11 that launched late last year already leaned on a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO display, so a high-res screen isn’t new to the Neo line. What’s new is squeezing that resolution into a more power-efficient package, and it comes as iQOO also gears up to possibly launch the Z11S alongside the Neo 11 Ultra this month.

On the design side, hands-on units in the Radiant White colorway show off a 3D flowing light effect. The back panel has a gradient sheen that shifts depending on the angle and lighting, alongside the floating porthole camera design and rounded edges you’d expect from the series.

Motorola confirms Android 17 eligibility for these devices: Check the list here

Motorola has been actively testing Android 17 on select devices, and now the company has announced which of its devices are eligible for the stable rollout. The list includes over 50 models across the premium Razr lineup, the mid-range Edge series, and the more affordable Moto G series.

The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand has published an official blog post (in Spanish) confirming the list of 50+ Motorola phones that are eligible to receive the Android 17 update. Review the list to find out if your Motorola device is included.

Even though it’s a long list of eligible devices, there are still a couple of Motorola phones that are missing from the list shared by Lenovo. For instance, the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo should have been on the list. Both phones have been promised 5 years of major OS updates. The other Edge 50 series models should also be eligible for the Android 17 upgrade.

Many Motorola fans on online forums like Reddit have expressed concerns regarding the incomplete Android 17 eligible devices list shared by the brand. We hope the company will publish an updated list soon. We’ll let you know when that happens.

When it comes to timely software releases, Motorola doesn’t have a strong reputation. However, it has made significant improvements in recent years. Take Android 16, for example: the rollout was quicker than previous years, and the company is looking to speed things up this year.

Sony Xperia 1 IX spotted in GSMA’s IMEI database with three distinct models

Sony seems to be getting a head start on its next Xperia flagship, and some early database listings are giving us the first solid hints that a successor is already in the works.

Japanese publication S-Max has spotted three new model numbers in the GSMA’s IMEI database that follow the usual pattern for the Xperia 1 series. These entries, registered around early August, point to the Xperia 1 IX as a 2027 phone.

The codes are XQ-HH44 (Japan-focused and eSIM-only), XQ-HH54 (Europe), and XQ-HH74 (other markets, including Greater China). In Sony’s system, the leading “H” means 2027 model year, and the “4” at the end confirms eSIM support. The internal names listed with them are PM-1545-BV, PM-1540-BV, and PM-1541-BV. Some reports also mention that the Japanese version is marked as compatible with 3GPP satellite communication standards.

The Walkman Blog pointed out that the Xperia 1 VIII showed up in the same database in November 2025 and the 1 VII in October 2024. Seeing the IX listed this early doesn’t automatically mean it’ll launch sooner, as registration timing can vary for regulatory or production reasons. Still, the fact that these numbers appeared so soon after the VIII’s release shows Sony is already working on the next generation instead of scaling back its smartphone efforts.

Sony has stuck to a pretty consistent yearly rhythm for its premium Xperia 1 line even though the volumes are smaller than the big mass-market players. So the next model is expected to keep the series’ usual focus on strong display quality, imaging, and audio features.

One practical note: pricing. The ongoing DRAM shortage is widely expected to drive component costs higher, which could mean a price bump when the Xperia 1 IX shows up next year. No other specs, including the chipset, cameras, or battery, have leaked yet, but the model numbers alone confirm that planning and early regulatory work are already underway. More details should start surfacing closer to the usual 2027 announcement window.

Alleged OnePlus 16 secures network access certification in China

An Oppo-linked phone with model number PYB110 just got radio approval and includes the N79 5G band. Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests this is the OnePlus 16. He says it’s one of only two phones in its lineage to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro.

The same leaker mentioned back in July that a manufacturer’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro phone was lined up for an October launch, and most people took that as a clear nod to the OnePlus 16.

Engineering samples apparently still feature a 6.78-inch LIPO ultra-narrow-bezel flat display (a manufacturing and packaging process that shrinks the bezels to the absolute edge). However, an early teaser has hinted at the return of a circular camera island design, marking a significant shift from the design philosophy of recent Oppo and OnePlus phones.

At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Gaming Technology Awards on July 30, OnePlus China President Li Jie confirmed that three of the brand’s exclusive gaming technologies are getting a full upgrade and will debut on the OnePlus 16. The materials shown pointed to a 165Hz high-refresh-rate display, a fast gaming kernel, and a triple-core e-sports processor setup.

For a bit of context, the OnePlus 15 launched on October 28, 2025, starting at 3,999 yuan. It packed a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra-class chip, the Glacier Cooling System, a 7,300mAh Glacier Battery with 120W SuperVOOC wired and 50W wireless charging, and a 50MP triple-camera setup. The next one is expected to build on that with the newer Pro-tier Snapdragon silicon, improved gaming features, and the same October timing the series has stuck to lately.

Full specs are still under wraps and we don’t have official confirmation that the model number is definitely the OnePlus 16 yet, but the mix of regulatory progress, consistent leaks from Digital Chat Station, and OnePlus’s own comments at the gaming event make it look like things are moving on schedule.

iQOO Neo 11 Ultra, Z11S with up to 10,000mAh batteries set to launch on August 18 

After teasing the arrival of the iQOO Neo 11 Ultra last week, iQOO has now confirmed its design and some key specifications. The company has also revealed that the iQOO Z11S will debut alongside it in China on August 18. Here is what we know about the two upcoming phones so far.

The iQOO Neo 11 Ultra is officially confirmed to feature a 2K flat 6.83-inch display and a 9,100mAh battery, making it the first Neo-series phone with such a large battery. The company is positioning it as a performance-focused flagship, while also highlighting improvements to eye comfort, durability and network stability. The phone is also tipped to feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and 100W wired charging.

The design shown by iQOO features a horizontal dual-camera module with the two rear cameras arranged side by side. The flash sits separately to the right of the camera island. The phone will be available in Light White, Shadow Black and Wind Chaser color options, with the latter featuring a distinctive light-toned finish and flowing pattern on the rear panel.

The iQOO Z11S will take a different approach, with its 10,000mAh battery making it the brand’s first smartphone to enter the 10,000mAh category. iQOO has officially confirmed a 144Hz display, while the promotional material also highlights eye-care features.

The phone has a 6.83-inch screen with a combination of full-brightness DC-like dimming and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, along with SGS certifications for low blue light and low flicker.

The Z11S has a vertically arranged dual-camera setup housed in a rectangular module, with the flash placed beside it. The images show White, Black and a pale Green color option.

The phone could be the V2603A model previously spotted on Geekbench with a Dimensity 7500 chip, 12GB of RAM and Android 16. A 44W charger has also appeared in its 3C certification, although iQOO has yet to confirm these details. The remaining specifications are still under wraps.

Xgimi launches Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition projector with RGB laser, 120Hz mode & 1ms latency

Xgimi recently launched a new version of its Z9X projector in China. It is called the Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition, and it costs 3,298 yuan ($488). The device builds on the standard Z9X released last year, mainly by incorporating a brighter light source.

The projector uses a new triple-color RGB laser from Nichia, specifically the QuaLas 42. This brings the brightness up to 1,600 CVIA lumens, which is an 8% increase over the older laser module. For contrast, it has a native ratio of 1,600:1 and a dynamic ratio of 30,000:1.

It supports HDR Vivid and covers color spaces like DCI-P3 and 110% of BT.2020. Because triple-laser projectors can sometimes struggle with speckle and color fringing, the device has an SGS certification indicating those specific visual artifacts have been minimized.

On the optical side, the projector includes a 0.98 to 1.3:1 optical zoom lens. This allows it to project a 100-inch image from 2.17 meters away. Because the zoom is optical rather than digital, users can adjust the screen size without cropping the image and losing the native 4K resolution.

For gaming, the projector supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). It operates in a dual mode, allowing for either a 4K resolution at 60Hz or 1080p at 120Hz, with Xgimi claiming input lag as low as 1ms.

Hisense A10 e-ink phone with detachable LCD shown in detailed hands-in images

The latest real-life photos of the Hisense A10 e-ink phone make the modular approach look pretty clever for people who mostly want a reading-focused device but still need color sometimes.

The Hisense A10 first showed up in teasers back in June 2026, and they officially revealed the design in July. Unlike the fixed dual-screen setup you get on something like the Bigme Hibreak Dual 2, this one keeps a monochrome e-ink panel as the main screen and adds a magnetic, detachable color LCD on top. The color screen is sold separately, so you only buy it if you actually want the extra flexibility for photos, comics, charts, social apps, or the occasional video.

Some new real-life shots shared by Hisense give a clearer idea of how the accessory snaps on and works. You can jump between the e-ink and LCD modes three different ways: a physical “Ink Smart Key,” a toggle in the quick settings, or a button in the quick ball. The main e-ink display is handled by a T2000 TCON chip that manages the refresh rates and panel behavior on its own.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm QCM6690 (also called the Dragonwing Q-6690), a 4nm octa-core chip aimed more at enterprise devices. Performance-wise it’s in the same ballpark as chips like the Unisoc T9100, fine for everyday stuff and optimized reading, but not something you’d pick for heavy gaming. It runs Android 16 and should get solid long-term software and security updates.

A few other practical extras that have come up in coverage: NFC, an IR blaster so you can control TVs and air conditioners, magnetic wireless charging, native app cloning, built-in call recording, and a dedicated fast-refresh mode to cut down on lag and ghosting on the e-ink side.

The main screen is 6.13 inches and is described as paper-like, which makes long reading sessions, note-taking, or document work easier on the eyes and on the battery than a regular LCD. The A10 is set to go on sale in China on August 28, 2026. No word yet on international availability, so people outside China will probably have to import it the same way they did with earlier Hisense e-ink models.

By making the color screen optional and modular, Hisense is trying to fix one of the classic trade-offs with e-ink phones: great for reading, not so great when you suddenly need color or multimedia.

DJI Osmo 360 II leaked unboxing video reveals larger battery, compares design with Osmo 360

If you’re in the market for a new 360-degree camera, you’re about to get a pretty interesting choice. Both the Insta360 X6 and the DJI Osmo 360 II are landing within a day of each other. Insta360 is expected to show off the X6 on August 12, and DJI is set to drop the Osmo 360 II just hours later on the 13th.

Both cameras are looking pretty similar on paper: roughly 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors and at least 8K50 video in full 360 mode. The designs, though, are staying in their own lanes. DJI is sticking with that distinctive square shape from the first Osmo 360.

The clearest look, though, comes from a slightly rough but useful unboxing video shared by Igor Bogdanov on X. He opens up a full bundle and puts the new camera right next to last year’s original Osmo 360. The biggest obvious upgrade? The battery. It’s now a 2,150 mAh cell instead of the old 1,950 mAh one, about a 10% bump. That should give you noticeably longer recording times, especially if you’re shooting high-res 360 video for a while.

Other leaks and regulatory filings point to a few more improvements: faster USB-C charging and, according to some reports, user-replaceable lenses. Pre-orders have already started in China, and DJI has confirmed the August 13 launch window there. Global availability and final pricing are still under wraps.

The next couple of days should show us how the Osmo 360 II’s bigger battery, possible frame-rate jump, and overall package stack up against the new Insta360. For now, that leaked unboxing is the best preview we’ve got of what DJI has cooking.

Lenovo launches affordable 240Hz curved gaming monitor with 34-inch WQHD VA panel

Lenovo has launched the Legion 34W-2C curved ultrawide gaming monitor in China. It is priced at 1,799 yuan (~$266) and is now available on JD.com.

The monitor is built around a VA panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a WQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440. Lenovo has given the screen a 1500R curvature, a standard curve for this size designed to keep the outer edges of the display within your peripheral vision. Because it uses a VA panel, the monitor provides a high 4000:1 contrast ratio. It has a typical brightness of 400 nits, peaks at 410 nits, and includes basic DisplayHDR 400 support.

For gaming, the Legion 34W-2C features a native 240Hz refresh rate. Lenovo includes adjustable overdrive settings to manage response times. The standard settings range from 5ms down to 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) on the highest level, and there is an additional 0.5ms MPRT option available through a dedicated Esports profile.

The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA AdaptiveSync to reduce screen tearing and stuttering. It also features built-in gaming tools, including an on-screen crosshair, refresh-rate counter, and dark-area enhancement mode that improves visibility in shadowy scenes without excessively brightening lighter areas.

For colors, it supports 10-bit color depth with 8-bit + FRC, covering 99% of the sRGB and 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut. It also supports LADM software for color adjustments and features hardware-level low blue light, Eyesafe 2.0 and TÜV Rheinland certifications, along with DC dimming for reduced flicker.

In terms of connectivity, it includes two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 connection. Both the HDMI and DisplayPort inputs support the monitor’s full 3440 x 1440 resolution at 240Hz, making it compatible with modern PCs as well as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The monitor comes with an adjustable stand that allows for 135mm of height adjustment, 30 degrees of swivel in either direction, and a tilt range of -5 to 22 degrees. It also supports standard 100 x 100mm VESA mounting for use with third-party arms.

Lenovo launches a new budget tablet with 8-inch IPS display, 4G & 5000mAh battery

Lenovo has launched a new compact and budget-friendly tablet under its Lecoo brand in China, called the Lecoo P900A.

The Lecoo P900A features an 8-inch IPS HD display, although its exact resolution is unspecified. It measures 200.5 x 122 x 8.45mm, weighs 324g, and sports a textured rear panel for improved grip.

Internally, the Lecoo Pad Mini is powered by an unspecified octa-core MediaTek processor. This chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If you need more local space for files and media, the tablet supports microSD expansion up to 1TB.

It also supports basic file transfers with iOS devices.

Pricing and Availability

The tablet is currently available on JD.com for 899 yuan, which converts to roughly $133. It comes in a single Platinum Gold color option.

iQOO 16T leak suggests 200MP camera, no periscope zoom, and new cooling setup

Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu says the iQOO 16T is now being tested with a combined liquid and air cooling system. The leak also says the phone will keep a 200MP main camera but won’t have a periscope zoom lens this generation either. 

For the regular iQOO 16 though, the brand will reportedly use a 50MP main sensor. iQOO has been going back and forth on this, according to reports. It’s said to be testing both 200MP and 50MP main camera options for the iQOO 16 before going with the larger-sensor 50MP option.

This isn’t the first leak about the 16T. An earlier report in June said the phone was in development and would keep the large-display approach of its predecessor. Last month, another leak added that it’s being tested with a 2K Samsung display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip, along with a built-in cooling fan. Today’s leak builds on that, suggesting the fan may now be paired with liquid cooling as well.

For a sense of what to expect, the 16T’s predecessor, the iQOO 15T, launched in May with a 200MP main camera that supported CIPA 4.5 stabilization, 4x lossless zoom, and portrait mode across all focal lengths. It also came with a 50MP ultra-wide lens with macro support, the Dimensity 9500 Monster Edition chip, the in-house Q3 gaming chip, and an 8,000mAh battery with 100W charging. 

If the 16T follows a similar setup while adding the dual cooling system, it would mean better heat management during longer use, though nothing about performance gains has been confirmed yet.

There’s no word yet on a launch date, chipset, or battery size for the 16T. The 15T only launched in May, so a wait is likely before official details arrive.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra just leaked, and they look very familiar

Samsung is one month shy of announcing the new Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, if it follows the usual launch pattern. The two devices have now surfaced in renders before the official reveal expected this September.

The renders, however, only show the front design along with the new wallpapers Samsung plans to ship them with. And if you’re expecting a big redesign, you won’t find one here. Both tablets keep the same bezel thickness and overall front look as last year’s Tab S11 series.

One detail worth noting is that the Tab S12 Ultra still has its notch. That’s contrary to earlier claims which tipped Samsung may finally switch the Ultra to a punch-hole camera, and a recent real-life image of the Tab S12+ suggested the Ultra might get the more modern cutout while the smaller model stuck with a bezel-mounted camera. That doesn’t seem to be happening this year. You’ll still see the notch on the Ultra, so that change may have to wait until next year’s model.

What you will notice is new wallpaper. Samsung tends to refresh its default wallpapers with every flagship launch, and this year’s set features a blue-purple gradient with a stylized “S” at the center. Both tablets are expected to come in gray and silver.

Under the hood, you’re looking at the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip on Ultra, as per the Geekbench listing. Samsung is also expected to back both tablets with seven years of Android and security updates. 

On the display side, the Tab S12+ should stick with a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 120Hz, while the Tab S12 Ultra holds onto its massive 14.6-inch screen. Battery capacity grows slightly too, with a 10,600mAh cell rumored for the S12+ and 11,600mAh for the Ultra. Both should include an S Pen in the box, as usual.

With a launch expected within the next month or two, you won’t have to wait long to see how close these renders get to the real thing.

Oppo announces new FatMax Mode that calculates your personal fat-burning heart rate range

If you’ve exercised while watching a fitness tracker, you’ve probably seen it tell you to stay in a fat-burning zone. Oppo is changing how that zone gets calculated with a new mode called FatMax. The feature calculates your own fat-burning heart rate range instead of giving everyone the same generic range.

A fat-burning zone is a heart rate range where your body relies more on stored fat for energy, rather than burning through carbs first. Staying in that range during a workout is meant to make fat loss more efficient.

Most watches calculate your fat-burning zone with a basic formula: 220 minus your age, then 60 to 70 percent of that number. It’s an easy formula, but it doesn’t account for individual differences. Two people the same age can have very different fitness levels, so the same heart rate zone doesn’t make sense for both of them.

FatMax has its own new way of calculating this. It uses your height, weight, age, gender, and current exercise level, then runs the data through Oppo’s own health algorithm to determine your specific fat-burning zone. The longer you wear the watch, the more it adjusts and refines that number based on your actual activity.

Li Sheng, who leads Oppo’s health product business, said the goal is to make fat burning something you can actually track, rather than an abstract target. While exercising, you can see your fat-burning grams update in real time. Oppo demonstrated this at an event in Shenzhen called the “Burning Party,” where people tried the feature while jogging.

FatMax will launch alongside the Oppo Watch S2 in September. It follows other recent health-focused updates from the company, including the Oppo Watch X3’s blood pressure and ECG tracking and the Oppo Watch S’s AI-based coaching tools.

Alongside FatMax, Oppo also announced a “Smart Track” feature, built with Beijing Sport University. It automatically records pace and time as you run and provides guidance based on that data afterward.
