‘Nothing Chats’ app pulled from Google Play Store

Kishan Bagaria, Founder of Texts.com, initially raised these concerns on X/Twitter. Later, the Texts.com team also published a detailed blog outlining the app’s vulnerabilities.

Additionally, thе mеssagеs wеrе dеcryptеd and storеd on Sunbird sеrvеrs, lеaving thеm suscеptiblе to unauthorizеd accеss.

Tеxts.com dеmonstratеd this by intеrcеpting thе JWTs еxchangеd bеtwееn two dеvicеs, gaining accеss to thе Firеbasе rеal-timе databasе. Rеsеarchеrs thеn wеrе ablе to intеrcеpt JWT tokеns and accеss usеr information and convеrsations with just 23 linеs of codе.

Whilе thе privacy issues arе dirеctly attributablе to Sunbird, Nothing has drawn criticism for choosing to work with thе company and for downplaying thе sеvеrity of thе situation by labеling it as “bugs.”

With Applе’s rеcеnt announcеmеnt of RCS support, thе Nothing Chats app’s appеal has diminishеd furthеr. Usеrs should еxеrcisе caution whеn logging into third-party sеrvicеs using thеir Applе IDs, еvеn if еncryption is promisеd.

The company has been teasing the standard Meizu 21 for the past few days, because of which it is unclear whether the brand will announce the Meizu 21 Pro alongside it. In a new Weibo post, the company confirmed that it will reveal the launch date of the Meizu 21 tomorrow. In addition, the leaker Digital Chat Station has tipped the price of the device.

Although the official price of the device has not been confirmed, pre-orders have been open in China since Nov. 15. Meizu has disclosed that pre-orders for the Meizu 21 have already exceeded 100,000 units, indicating significant anticipation for the device in the Chinese market.

Regarding the price, the tipster Digital Chat Station has suggested that the Meizu 21 is expected to be priced at approximately 4,000 Yuan (~$555). This pricing places it in direct competition with other smartphones in its category, such as the Xiaomi 14 series, iQOO 12 series, and the Vivo X100 lineup, all of which start at 3,999 Yuan.

The Meizu 21 is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 6.55-inch Samsung AMOLED display, which probably supports an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The flat display of the device is confirmed to feature ultra-thin 1.74mm bezels on all four sides. It may pack a 4,800mAh battery that supports 80W charging. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Nubia Z60 Ultra is reported to feature an under-display front camera and a 35mm camera. Notably, even the ultra-wide-angle camera has been upgraded to the top configuration, with sensor specifications currently considered the largest in the industry. It is also said to support optical image stabilization (OIS).

The tipster added that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagship will be unveiled in December. In a newer Weibo post, the tipster shared the above image, which he had already released back in August. He said that the prototype device shown on the right, which appears to be the Z60 Ultra, has a very prominent protrusion.

In August, the tipster claimed that the device is equipped with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 35mm primary camera. However, the tipster has claimed that Nubia has not yet incorporated the IMX989 35mm sensor in the Z60 Ultra. Hence, it is unclear which primary camera will be available on the device.

The detailed specifications of the Z60 Ultra haven’t been leaked yet, but a recent Geekbench listing revealed that it will arrive with 12 GB RAM and Android 14. In terms of market positioning, it is set to rival the likes of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, Vivo X100 Pro, OnePlus 12, Realme GT 5 Pro, Meizu 21 series, Oppo Find X7 Pro, and Honor Magic 6 Pro in the Chinese market. Just days ago, word broke that the Honor Magic 6 will feature a new camera sensor — the 1-inch OV50K sensor from OmniVision. While specifics about this new sensor remain under wraps, credible leaker Digital Chat Station has shared a few details about it.

According to the leaker, the 1-inch OmniVision OV50K sensor is equipped with a new technology called LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) which will tackle a common challenge in smartphone photography – overexposure in bright scenes.

When you click a picture, the camera sensor captures light which is converted into electrical signals. These signals are then combined to form the final image.

However, in bright scenes, the sensor can be overwhelmed by an excessive amount of light, leading to overexposure and a loss of detail. LOFIC will address this issue by effectively managing the excess light, ensuring that photos retain their integrity even in high-brightness conditions.

After opening reservations on its official website (a few days ago), Honor has now officially opened pre-orders for its upcoming Honor 100 series on the e-commerce platform JD.com in China.

While the listing doesn’t unveil any additional details like pricing, it does shed light on the smartphone’s color options. Both Honor 100 and 100 Pro are listed with four color options on the platform: Moon Shadow White, Monet Purple, Gloss Black, and Butterfly Blue.

While Honor has remained tight-lipped about the smartphone’s specifications, recent leaks have revealed that the base model will feature the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. In contrast, the Pro model will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor from last year, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

According to reliable tipster DCS, the Honor 100 series will feature a 1.5K Oasis eye-protecting screen with 3840Hz PWM dimming that will reduce eye-strain.

Likewise, both smartphones are said to carry a 50MP main camera sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) around the back. Honor 100 Pro is also likely to offer an SLR-level photography experience, as hinted by an Honor executive. Notably, both models will also support 100W charging.

Earlier this year, Acer announced a host of TV lineups in India. However, the pricing of the various series and detailed specifications remained a mystery. Now the brand has announced the G series Google televisions in the country. They pack premium specifications. Acer says that the G-series televisions are manufactured in India. Read on to know what the TVs offer out of the box.

The Acer G series TVs are offered in 32, 43, and 55-inch screen sizes. The base model features an HD resolution whereas the other two bear a 4K resolution with a wide color gamut and support for HDR10 and HLG content. There is MEMC technology for a smooth and blur-free viewing experience during fast-paced scenes. On the audio front, the televisions are equipped with 24W speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and three-dimensional sound for an immersive sound experience.

Under the hood, the Acer G Series TV are powered by an ARM Cortex-A55 processor. They pack 2GB RAM for smooth performance and 16GB onboard storage for storing apps. Software-wise, the smart televisions run on Google TV OS.

The Acer G Series TVs start at Rs 21,999 for the base 32-inch variant. The 43-inch and 55-inch models are priced at Rs 42,999 and Rs 62,999 respectively.

Last week, Nothing’s CMF brand expanded the availability of its products to fifteen new regions. The brand has also focused on improving the CMF Watch Pro user experience as it has now received its third update since it launched in September.

The new update comes with firmware version V11.0.0.45. Since the smartwatch is now selling in multiple new regions, the update has added support for Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian, and Polish languages. Other than that, there are improvements in the UI and user experience. It includes enhanced weather synchronization and an improved display of phone music volume control.
