With the Google Pixel 7a‘s launch drawing near, new leaks are surfacing on the internet. We previously reported on leaked marketing images that confirmed the smartphone would include wireless charging. More recent leaks reveal the Canadian pricing of the device and also show a new color option that has never been seen before.

Pixel 7a new color option

According to popular tipster Evan Blass, the Pixel 7a will launch in a new orange color option which will be marketed as Coral. With this addition, the Pixel 7a will be launching with a total of 4 color options on May 10. Other previously released color options include Grey, Silver, and Light Blue.

Pixel 7a Canadian price leak

In another report, the Canadian pricing of the device has also leaked. According to this report, the smartphone will cost CAD 702 (roughly Rs 42,200) at launch for the 8GB + 128GB storage option. Previous rumors also mentioned that the device will also come with a 256GB storage option this time around, however, there is no official word on it yet.

Pixel 7a specs (rumored)

The upcoming Google Pixel 7a is expected to have a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, according to earlier reports. Google’s in-house Tensor G2 chipset, which also powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, will power the smartphone. The device is predicted to have 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, along with UFS 3.1.

The Pixel 7a is expected to have a 64MP rear camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide camera for photography. The front-facing camera will be a 10.8MP sensor, ideal for clear selfies. A 4,400mAh battery that can last up to 72 hours will power the device. Additionally, the battery will be compatible with 20W wired charging as well as wireless charging support.

The smartphone will run Android 13 as its operating system right out of the box. The Google Pixel 7a is expected to be a mid-range phone with outstanding features, such as a powerful processor, plenty of RAM and storage, exceptional cameras, and a long-lasting battery.

We already know that Realme is gearing up to launch its Realme 11 series of smartphone on May 10 in its home market of China. Now, a new report has even revealed that the lineup will also be arriving in the Indian market around the same time, and apparently, there is also a new Narzo model that will be unveiled as well. Realme 11 series, Narzo N53 colors & storage configurations revealed

The news arrives from PriceBaba who shared that industry sources close to the matter have found the upcoming Realme 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro+ models will be arriving in India next month. Apart from this, the Narzo N53 model is also expected to arrive in May as well. The report revealed the storage configurations of the higher end Pro models on the upcoming 11 series phones. The 11 Pro will arrive in three storage options, namely 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB + 256GB, and a 12GB + 256GB variant.

On the other hand, the Realme 11 Pro+ model will launch in just two options, including an 8GB + 256GB and a 12GB + 256GB option. The report also revealed color options for both of the Pro models as well. The 11 Pro series will reportedly come in three color options, including Astral Black, Oasis Green, and Sunrise Beige. Moving forward, the Chinese smartphone maker is apparently planning on launching the Narzo N53 model in India next month as well. Notably, this arrives soon after the brand announced the Narzo N55 model.

Similar to the Realme 11 series, the sources also revealed the Narzo N53’s storage configurations and color variants. For those unaware, the Narzo N53 will likely be a 4G enabled model that will come in a 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB storage configurations. Furthermore, the Narzo N53 model will launch in a Feather Black and Feather Gold option. While finer details regarding this device is still unclear, it is believed to have a price tag under 13,000 INR (roughly 159 US Dollars).

Galaxy A24 will Get Updates till Android 17

Samsung announced the Galaxy A24 earlier this week as a budget-friendly smartphone. It sits below the Galaxy A34 with a price of less than $300. You might not expect a phone this cheap to even receive timely updates, but Samsung continues to exceed expectations. The brand has confirmed that the Galaxy A24, which comes with Android 13 pre-installed, will receive an impressive four more major Android updates. This should mean the device will be updated all the way up to Android 17.

In early 2022, Samsung announced it would offer four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches to its phones, starting with the Galaxy S21 series in 2021. Since then, the brand has expanded this updated policy to include more devices, with the Galaxy A24 being the latest addition.

While the end of feature updates for Windows 10 might seem like bad news, Microsoft assures users that all versions will receive monthly security updates until October 14, 2025. Additionally, Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) releases will continue to receive updates according to their specific lifecycle. Windows 10 LTSC editions, for instance, will end mainstream support in January 2027, except for IoT Enterprise, which will receive support until January 2032.

In a separate announcement, Microsoft also revealed its plan to release the long-term support version of Windows 11 in the second half of 2024. Apple’s 3nm Chip Dominance: TSMC Struggles to Meet Demand Amid Skyrocketing Production Costs

According to a report by the EE Times, TSMC is struggling to meet the demand for 3nm chips from its largest customer, Apple. The tech giant has reportedly locked up all of TSMC’s 3nm production for this year, and plans to debut the 3nm A17 Bionic chipsets with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra. This means that other phone manufacturers may struggle to get their hands on the cutting-edge technology, as most don’t want to pay the $20,000 price tag for each silicon wafer used in 3nm chip production.

High Demand of Chips is attributed to Chipsets getting more powerful and efficient

But why is everyone clamoring for these chips? Well, the smaller the process node, the more transistors can fit inside a chip, making it more powerful and energy-efficient. The A17 Bionic could reportedly include more than 20 billion transistors, a significant leap from last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models, which were powered by the 4nm A16 Bionic SoC with a transistor count of 16 billion. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra could be the only two phones from a major brand to use a 3nm chip under the hood this year.

The competition for chip supremacy is fierce, with TSMC and Samsung jockeying for 3nm leadership. Intel has also thrown its hat into the ring, promising to regain process node leadership in 2025. But TSMC remains the preferred foundry choice for leading-edge nodes, as Samsung Foundry has yet to demonstrate a stable leading-edge process technology, while IFS is years away from offering a competitive solution.

But even with Apple‘s 3nm business, 2023 is not shaping up as a good year for TSMC, and revenue might fall this year for the first time in a decade. Year-over-year sales could decline by a mid-single-digit percentage point. However, TSMC expects capital expenditures to remain in the range of $32 billion to $36 billion, showing the company’s continued investment in future technology.

Hisense unveils the world’s first 8K full-color laser projector

Hisense has unveiled what it terms the world’s first 8K full-color laser projector. The company has gone through the paces from conceptualization to production for the new 8K laser projector.

The new model further establishes Hisense as a leading consumer electronics manufacturer globally. The new Hisense 8K full-color laser TVs are the 100LX and 120LX models. As indicated in their names, these are 100 inches and 120 inches in size respectively.

The new 8K laser projector TVs use an ultra-short focal length 8K resolution lens and integrate a powerful full-color light source. The projectors are equipped with ultra-high-resolution video decoding and DMD drive technology. The bigger model produces more powerful colors than the 100LX. It can achieve up to 33 million details on its 4 square meters screen. The color expressiveness of the TV’s light source is up to three times higher than that of traditional TVs. In fact, Hisense says the new 8K laser TVs have the highest color gamut in the market.

Sound-wise, the Hisense 100LX and 120LX TVs also offer solid sound quality. The models adopt a 4.1.2 multi-channel system with support for Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual, and a panoramic sound field. With 4 independent speakers, the sound experience is truly immersive with the new 8K laser TVs.

The laptop also comes with a full-sized backlit keyboard. The Acer Swift Go 2023 is powered by a 65Wh battery that supports 100W PD charging.

In terms of connectivity, the Acer Swift Go 2023 features Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB 3.2 port, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with power-off charging, and 1 x USB Type-C port with DC-in. Since the name of the phone was not known, the publication speculated that it could be called the Nokia XR30, a successor to the Nokia XR20, which debuted in 2021. In a new report, the publication has leaked all the key information on the specifications of the device. It also revealed that the device will be called the Nokia XR21 5G when it arrives on the market.

According to the report, the Nokia XR21 5G will arrive with a 6.49-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The screen will be shielded by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus.

The XR21’s display punch-hole will house a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, it will feature a 64-megapixel OmniVision main camera with an f/1.79 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor with zoom optics, which will offer up to 8x digital zoom. The device will be capable of shooting 1080p videos.

The Nokia XR21 5G will have an IP68-rated chassis that will weigh around 235 grams. It will run on the Android 12 OS, and it will receive OS upgrades until May 2026. The device will also receive security updates until 2027.
