Acer announces new Predator Gaming Laptops & Monitors at CES 2023

Acer has been on a roll with a number of new announcements during the CES 2023 event. Now, one of the latest new reveals includes new Gaming laptop and Monitors from its popular Predator series. So here are all the details.

Acer Predator Helios 16 & Predator Helios 18

Unlike the entry to mid range gaming laptops from the Nitro series that were also announced during CES, the new Predator models are the company’s most powerful gaming notebook series. The brand has launched the two new Predator Helios models with a new design and overhauled the cooling design for better thermals. The Predator Helios 18 and Predator Helios 16 can be purchased with either a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 or Core i9 HX series processor that is paired with up to an Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU that has a MGP of 165W.

Acer

In other words, this makes the new laptops quite powerful and highly capable for gaming. According to Steve Long, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific & Japan at Intel “The blazing fast performance users could experience is remarkable when compared to industry alternatives, as our labs have shown up to 40% higher in Crossmark tests of general PC use and two times in Blender which many content creators use for work for content creators.”

Under the hood, the new laptops can house up to 32GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD in RAID 0 format. In simpler terms, these are some top notch specs for a true smooth gaming experience. The Predator Helios 16 sports a 16 inch WQXGA (2560×1600) display that has a 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate but can even be configured with a Mini LED panel that has a 250Hz refresh rate. The AUO AmLED display technology offers 1,000 nits of peak brightness, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, and a 1,000,000:1 high contrast ratio.

Acer

On the other hand, the Predator Helios 18 sports a taller 18 inch display in multiple configurations. This includes a WUXGA (1920×1200) at 165Hz, WQXGA (2560×1600) at 165Hz or 240Hz, or an AUO 250Hz Mini LED display. Both of the laptops feature a mini LED backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel and anti ghosting N-Key rollover. They also offer per key RGB backlit that is completely customizable.

Predator X45 & Predator X27U

Alongside the two new Predator gaming laptops, Acer also unveiled its latest Predator branded gaming monitors as well. This includes the new Predator X45 and Predator X27U. As the name suggests, the former sports a 45 inch display while the latter has a 27 inch panel. Although there are a number of key differences between the two. The Predator X45 has a UWQHD resolution with 800R curved panel that offers an ultra wide viewing experience with narrow frames and a 98.5 DCI P3 color gamut.

Acer

It also houses DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certification. The Predator X45 sports an OLED display that supports HDR10 and offers a peak brightness of 1000 nits. On the other hand, the Predator X27U has a flat WQHD panel with a 98.5 percent DCI P3 color gamut. Similar to its more expensive sibling it offers TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certification and 1000 nits of peak brightness while also supporting the HDR10 standard. Both the Predator X45 and X27U have 240Hz refresh rate and 0.01ms pixel response time for a smooth gaming experience.

Samsung Unveils New Affordable MicroLED TVs at CES 2023

Samsung had previously launched the MicroLED TVs, but the main problem with them was their screen sizes and which require a professional to complete their setup. The past generation of MicroLED TVs was costly enough that we can say that it was made only for wealthy people. Anyway, in the CES 2023 event, Samsung announced its Quantum Dot OLED, Neo QLED and MicroLED TV. Well, the newly introduced MicroLED TV solves the problem which was there with its predecessor. It comes in smaller screen sizes and is not going to be as costlier as its predecessor.

samsung micro oled

According to Samsung, their recently unveiled TV is currently the smallest and most reasonably priced MicroOLED TV on the market. The new models in the 2023 MICRO LED series range in size from 50 to 140 inches, giving customers a wide range of options for a screen experience and visual quality that are unmatched. Due to its modular design, it can be totally customised to meet a customer’s preferred setup because it is not constrained by shape, ratio, or size. Additionally, it comes without bezels, ensuring a seamless transition between the screen and the actual world regardless of setup.

It’s safe to presume the new 76-inch variant will cost many tens of thousands of dollars, at the very least, given that the 110-inch version of it costs a cool $156,000 and is also available in 88- and 99-inch sizes. Apart from the TVs, the brand has introduced many new features for their TizenOS.

Speaking of gamers, Samsung is releasing a new MiniMap Sharing and Virtual Aim Point for its Gambar 3.0. Although it can seem paradoxical because you’d presumably prefer to see your minimap on the screen you’re actually playing on, minimap sharing allows you to share the minimap of the game you’re playing to a secondary display. Anyway, there is no information on the pricing and availability of the device yet. Also, it is surely going to cost less than its predecessor but it will still be out of budget for many peoples.

Samsung Unveils 2023 Neo QLED and The Frame at CES

For the CES 2023 event, Samsung has a tonne of new products lined up. The Samsung S95C, a 77-inch, gigantic QD (Quantum-Dot) OLED TV, had already been presented. The company also revealed the Samsung Neo QLED and Samsung The Frame alongside it (2023). By comparison, 2023 is going to be distinctly low-key. Instead of adding yet another glitzy new TV to its line-up, Samsung is concentrating on future improvements. AI and improved picture processing are the two main focuses of the Neo QLED TV.

A new Auto HDR Remastering feature is supported by the recently unveiled Samsung Neo QLED TV. This feature uses AI deep learning technology to analyse and apply real-time high dynamic range (HDR) effects on standard dynamic range (SDR) content on a scene-by-scene basis, making SDR content brighter and livelier for absolute immersion. It is clear that the feature will be a valuable addition to the gadget. There will undoubtedly be evidence of the product’s AI scene mastery power.

Customers can choose from a wide range of high-end Neo QLED 8K and 4K televisions from Samsung’s most recent collection. Samsung’s cutting-edge Neural Quantum Processor, which enables the Quantum Mini LED-lit TV with 14-bit processing and AI upscaling, powers Neo QLED picture quality. It makes features like Shape Adaptive Light Control and Real Depth Enhancer Pro for a three-dimensional, lifelike image possible.

samsung neo qled

Finally, Samsung’s flagship model, The Frame, debuted back in 2022. The device was a product of both art and technology. The TV’s manufacturer added an antiglare matte finish frame, which made the artwork mode look even more realistic and less like a television. The Samsung The Wall TV version for 2023 has also received a few little upgrades from Samsung. New metal bezel options as well as “more realistic wood finishes” are also available, according to the business. Additionally, you can choose an “automatic rotating mount that will enable landscape or portrait display of paintings and is supplied separately.

So that was all about the newly introduced Samsung Neo QLED and The Frame televisions. Both the TVs are a great offering with many top-of-the-line features being packed in. As of now, we do not have any official information on the pricing and availability of these devices. The brand may officially announce the pricing in the upcoming weeks.

Samsung Unveils 2nd Gen Quantum Dot OLED TV at CES 2023

In the previous year, Samsung introduced the Samsung S95B QD-OLED. It was a fantastic product that fiercely competed with LG and Sony, two leading manufacturers of televisions. A 65-inch and 55-inch screen size was offered. The Quantum-Dot (QD) OLED display is a brand-new technology, and the first generation of QD-OLED TVs from Samsung only came in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. Because this was a new technology, other screen sizes were not made available. However, the brand has now announced its 77-inch QD-OLED TV.

Regarding the first-generation S95B, it was undoubtedly a game-changing product, and the QD-OLED screen offered a noteworthy improvement over traditional OLED in terms of perceived brightness and colour luminosity. For its first OLED TV in years, however, Samsung has delivered a number of firmware upgrades and fixes after dealing with its fair share of software issues. The company has recently released the Samsung S95C, a 77-inch OD-OLED TV, using the technology on a larger screen.

samsung od-oled tv
Samsung S95C QD-OLED TV

It seems like more and more individuals are eager to upgrade to bigger TVs each year. In order to give its users an unmatched and immersive experience, Samsung combined its superb Quantum Dot OLED panel with a bigger 77-inch screen. It appears that the S95C will shine even brighter than the S95B; also, the new panel will have better overall durability and consume less power.

Additionally, the company states that “Samsung OLEDs come with AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro certification for the ideal OLED gaming experience” for the first time on an OLED TV. At this point, Samsung and LG are engaged in a battle of certifications and buzzwords; one thing you surely won’t get from Samsung is Dolby Vision gaming, even though HDR games are perfectly acceptable.

On the sound front, the S95C is also no slouch. It has a 4.2.2-channel, 70-watt Dolby Atmos speaker system. Samsung is known for emphasising the gaming capabilities of their TVs, and the S95C is no exception. Although Samsung still has the advantage of having Microsoft’s Xbox cloud gaming software on its Tizen OS, the response time listed below is identical to that of LG’s OLEDs.

YESOUL Bike G1 Max Indoor Cycling Review: An Affordable Best Peloton Alternative

Yesoul Bike G1 MAX

If you are looking for an Indoor Spin Bike for yourself, you must have considered buying a Peloton Bike, which is great. But the only thing stopping you from buying it must be the fact that it is too expensive. Then this Spin Bike might be for you: the Yesoul G1 Max, a Spin Bike with a screen, but at almost half the price of the Peloton bike.

Packaging & assembling

The G1 Max has a lot of packaging padding and a lot of tapes to hold it in place. While it may take you some time to unpack, it also reminds us that wherever you are, it is not likely to be damaged due to long shipping. The screen and power supply are not included in this large box, they will be in another small box. Since the G1 Max has more movable parts, there may be more parts than other Spin bikes. The manual that we do not usually read is very important this time. Anyway, with the tools Yesoul has given you, you just have to follow the manual to install it. If you are unlucky to lose the manual, there is also an electronic version of the manual on the official website. Once you have installed it, you can start your exercise normally.

Design

Although the price is only half of Peloton (might even lower than half), the quality is no less than Peloton. V-shaped metal frame, yes. Two light dumbbells, yes. Adjustable seat and handlebar, yes. Even the feature of movement adjustment is also available for the G1 MAX screen, which we’ve seen on the more expensive Peloton Bike+. And the adjustment range is wider, which makes this screen full of possibilities even beyond exercise assistance. Underneath the handle, there are two water bottle holders.

In the middle of the frame, there is a knob which you can control the level of resistance and press down to brake. The 100 levels of Resistance adjustment allow you to make a personalized riding experience.

Unlike the Peloton Bike, the G1 Max pedals are held in place by straps that hold the feet in place. I think both fixation methods have their own benefits, Peloton requires you to wear Cycling shoes to use, which can lock your feet firmly, and also make it more like riding a road bike. G1 Max is more convenient, any shoes are appropriate for riding. It means that you do not need to buy additional Cycling shoes. As a result, we think the Yesoul G1 Max is more friendly for beginners.

32-inch Big Screen

I would say the most impressive part, besides its cheap price, is the screen. This 32-inch screen is ten inches larger than Peloton’s, and it’s even larger than my computer screen. Even though, as I just said, the G1 Max has a wide range of screen movement. It allows users to use it for other entertainment even when they are not riding. Yesoul has also added a cast function to this screen. You can cast YouTube or other platform videos. In case, you give up exercising completely, then this screen will not be wasted but can be a great tool for entertainment.

Of course you can also cast Peloton tutorials onto the screen of the G1 Max, which sounds more like a Peloton Bike, right? With its own 8w dual speakers, it’s really no different from a compact TV.

The Yesoul G1 Max is designed with this rotating screen to make various sports connections more closely. For example, there are some yoga tutorials. If you want to watch the tutorials while doing yoga, there is no way more convenient than directly flipping the screen.

App & Experience

To use the big screen, you still need a remote control. But it’s convenient that your phone can be turned into the remote control. Yesoul APP connects to G1 Max via Bluetooth, which can realize the functions of casting, class selection, and schedule settings. It feels so good that we truly recommend you buy a spin bike with a screen in order to follow the tutorials to exercise. It’s definitely able to save you time and make any exercise more efficient.

There are a lot of tutorials in the APP, and there is a free trial period for starting. So, make sure that you’ve made sure that you were making a workout plan and would follow it. Otherwise, the smartness and the paid features of the G1 Max are redundant for you.

Verdict

I believe Yesoul’s designers had the idea of “beating Peloton” in mind when they designed the G1 Max. This is their strategy to make some differentiated design and sell it at a lower price while achieving similar functions. I think whether it really beats Peloton or not, at least it gives people who can’t afford Peloton bikes a chance to experience a high-end Spin bike. DJI Teases January 10 Launch of a Handheld Gimbal; Likely the DJI RS 3 Mini

Prolific Chinese drone manufacturer reputed as the king of drones – DJI has teased the upcoming launch of a non-drone product. The product is a handheld gimbal, yet another niche where the company’s products excel. The launch is scheduled to hold on January 10, 2023. While the post did not explicitly name the gimbal model that would be unveiled, the teaser poster hints that it would be of the RS 3 series.

DJI RS 3 Mini

Already, DJI has launched the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro handheld gimbals around June 2022. Thus, we expect the product to be a Mini model of the RS 3 series. The product, likely called DJI RS 3 Mini, will have a smaller size compared to its predecessors. To put this in perspective, the teaser poster contains three gimbals of different sizes. The large and medium-sized models correspond to the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro. Thus, the smaller one will likely be the mini version.

At teh moment, details of the upcoming gimbal model are not known neither has the company indicated the price tag it would adopt. However, considering that the RS 3 Pro and RS 3 are priced at 5499 yuan and 2999 yuan respectively, we expect the new model to be cheaper.

Apart from a cheaper price, the model will likely come with trimmed down features. It is expected to weigh less than the 1.3 kg which the RS 3 weighs. The payload capacity will also likely be less than 3kg which is the carry capacity of the RS 3.

DJI RS 3 Mini handheld gimbal

We expect the gmbal to come with basic features such as stabilization technology and just like the others, it will likely be a camera gimbal. However, we don’t expect the gimbal to come with a built-in LiDAR laser focus found on the RS 3 Pro and missing on the vanilla RS 3.

We expect to find out more details of the upcoming DJI handheld gimbal when it is officially unveiled.

Design

As you already understood, these two phones have the same form factor: they are flip phones able to fold in half in order to make their dimensions very small. However, the Motorola Razr 2022 is slightly more compact, thanks to the presence of a smaller display and a smaller battery. Further, it has an outstanding build quality, including a water-repellent design, a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5, an aluminum 7000 series frame, and a stainless steel hinge. On the other hand, the OPPO Find N2 Flip comes with a nearly perfect hinge making the cease almost invisible, so do not underestimate it.

Display

The foldable internal display of the Motorola Razr 2022 is more interesting not only because it is able to show up to one billion colors, but also because it sports a higher 144 Hz refresh rate. It is an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and HDR10+ certification. The OPPO Find N2 Flip has a more interesting external display: a bigger 3.7-inch panel placed vertically allowing for a better user experience. The external display of the OPPO Find N2 Flip is an AMOLED panel protected by Gorilla Glass 5 with a resolution of 382 x 720 pixels. On the internal side, the phone sports an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.8 inches, a Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification.

Specs & Software

These two phones have different processors but similar performance. The Motorola Razr 2022 is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform running at a max frequency of 3.19 GHz and paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. The OPPO Find N2 Flip has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset with the same max frequency, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. The OPPO Find N2 Flip wins the hardware comparison due to its higher amount of RAM. It also ships with a more recent Android version out of the box: Android 13 instead of Android 12.

Camera

The Motorola Razr 2022 wins the camera hardware comparison. It has a dual rear camera including a 50 MP main sensor with OIS and a 13 MP ultrawide shooter, as well as a 32 MP front camera. The OPPO Find N2 Flip has a 50 MP main camera too, but without OIS and accompanied by an 8 MP ultrawide lens.

Battery

The biggest battery is the one found on the OPPO Find N2 Flip, with a capacity of 4300 mAh instead of just 3700 mAh. Further, it charges quicker due to 44W fast charging.

Price

You need at least $845/€800 to purchase the OPPO Find N2 Flip in China, while the Motorola Razr 2022 starts from $1200/€1200 globally. I would choose the OPPO flip phone due to its bigger battery, Android 13, and better external display: which one would you pick?
