Xiaomi has announced a crowdfunding campaign for its first smart fish tank with some impressive features. The MIJIA smart fish tank can operate for up to 6 months without changing the water. It also supports remote feeding, according to the Chinese tech giant.

The MIJJIA smart fish tank has an integrated design with a 16:9 widescreen ratio. The tank comes with a water pump, feeder tank, filtration system, and temperature sensor. It also has lighting embedded in its design. It is a ready-to-use device and does not require any complex assembly process. The MIJIA smart fish tank has 24 full-color LED white light beads and 16 full-color gamut RGB light beads. There are several light modes in the smart fish tank.

The cylinder body of the MIJIA smart fish tank consists of Jinjing ultra-clear UHA-grade five-wire glass. The glass has an ultra-high light transmittance of 91.3%, providing great aesthetics in the room.

The five-fold compartmental module of the fish tank features self-cleaning functionality. The self-cleaning system also prevents clogging of the water pump. The water pump has a 2-blade stainless steel rotary cutter head and a high-speed brushless motor. The cutter head can effectively cut weeds, mucous membranes, and other impurities that are generated in the tank. Therefore there is no need to change the water in the fish tank for up to 6 months, according to Xiaomi.

Using the side suction pump, the water in the MIJIA smart fish tank can be drained. The draining is achieved with the press of a button. Furthermore, the fish tank can be conveniently operated remotely using the MIJIA app. You can achieve regular and quantitative remote automatic feeding using the app. This means that even when you are away from home for extended periods, your fish will not lack attention. The MIJIA app also allows users to customize the lighting duration in the tank to modulate plant growth.

Redmi Watch 3 is expected to as a successor to the Watch 2, which was launched back in 2021. The new wearable will likely bring some upgrades in terms of display and performance. As per the recent teasers, the smartwatch will have a 1.75-inch AMOLED screen, with a display area 14.8% larger than last year’s model.

In addition, the Watch 3 will offer a pixel density of up to 341 PPi, higher resolution, and a maximum brightness of 600nit. Further, the watch will support Bluetooth calling technology, enabling users to attend incoming calls directly through the watch’s interface via a built-in speaker and a microphone.

The company also claims that the new smartwatch will be more power efficient than its predecessor. Other details about the Redmi Watch 3 are yet to be known. We can expect the wearable to be priced similarly to the Watch 2. To recall, it was launched at a price of 349 yuan ($50).

As mentioned, Redmi will also launch the Band 2 and Buds 4 lite on the same day. The new smart band will arrive with a 1.47-inch screen with a display area 79% larger than the original model. It will have a 9.99mm thickness.

Xiaomi has unveiled its first-ever titanium thermos cup. Xiaomi will kickstart a crowdfunding campaign for the MIJIA Thermos Cup Ti on December 28. Xiaomi claims the use of titanium metal for manufacturing the MIJIA thermos cup Ti is the first of its kind for a thermos cup.

Titanium is a very pure metal and will not precipitate heavy metals. It is a recognized biophilic metal, according to Xiaomi, and offers more reliability to the thermos. Xiaomi uses titanium both inside and outside the MIJIA thermos cup Ti. The cup has a capacity of 450ml and weighs 21.5g. The thermos can keep liquid warm at 58 degrees Celsius for up to 6 hours and cold at 10 degrees Celsius for 6 hours.

The MIJIA thermos cup Ti uses TA1 quality pure titanium with a 99% titanium content. It does not contain harmful heavy metals and has the highest level of purity. NIO has unveiled a new charging system for its EV batteries that delivers ultra-fast 500kW charge. The new charging architecture can recharge an EV from 10-80% in just 12 minutes. This makes charging its EVs to be super-fast, thereby significantly cutting down on idle times. The NIO 500kW charger was part of a raft of products and innovations highlighted during the 2022 NIO Day event.

The new charging architecture will also be available for non-NIO EVs, which is great. It is open to all brands of electric vehicles and it has a maximum current output of 660A. NIO says that the 500kW charging system can charge a vehicle built on the 800V platform at a faster pace than EVs from the 400V platform. It takes up to 20 minutes to achieve 80% charging for 400V EVs and 12 minutes for 800V models.

The ultra-fast charger has a 15.6-inch display and proprietary liquid-cooling technology. This allows the weight of the charging cable to be significantly reduced and users can easily operate it with one hand.

The 500kW charger is among the highest capacity announced for EVs so far. This comes after another Chinese firm, XPeng released a 480kW charging system earlier this year. The XPeng Supercharger has a maximum current output of 670A. It can charge some of the EVs from the XPeng lineup from 0-80% in 15 minutes.

NIO is also expanding the capacity of its swap stations to accommodate up to 408 battery swaps in a day. The expansion will see swap stations operating up to 21 batteries at a time. The new 500kW battery charger and the revamped swap stations will be available in March 2023, according to the Chinese company.

NIO’s charging network, according to CEO William Li, is open to all brands of vehicles. Li also says that about 80% of the power provided in the charging stations goes to more than 110 non-NIO brands. Some of the EV brands that utilize the NIO charging infrastructure include BYD, Tesla, XPeng, and Li Auto.

Honor unveiled a slew of new products at a launch event held earlier today in China. The brand introduced the new Honor 80 GT smartphone and the Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet. Alongside them, the Chinese OEM also launched the next-generation fitness tracker— Honor Band 7. The latest wearable debuts as the successor of the Band 6 but does not bring any major upgrades. Let’s look closely at the specs and pricing of the smart band.

Honor Band 7 comes with a design similar to its predecessor. It has a rectangular dial that fuses with the strap. It comes with a high-gloss metal case and offers a 1.47-inch color AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass protection. This display is on par with other products in the same category. For reference, the upcoming Redmi Band 2 has similar display specs.

The wearable has all the usual fitness tracking features. It supports all-weather blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate monitoring as well as sleep tracking. The band also sports over 96 sports modes to track various sporting activities.

Further, the Honor Band 7 comes with a battery that can last up to 14 days of typical use and 10 days of heavy usage. It supports fast charging and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. It comes with payment support, remote control photography, and music playback controls.

NIO has unveiled its latest aerodynamically-designed electric SUV. The NIO EC7 SUV is an all-electric coupe with a 0.23 drag coefficient and the capability to do automatic battery swaps on the highway.

The Annual NIO day celebration was the event that heralded the EC7, as well as a refreshed ES8 SUV. Both models are built from the NIO NT 2.0 platform, with LiDAR and Nvidia Orin hardware. The EC7 and ES8 will get an autonomous driving software suite after their release next year.

The EC7 has an electric rear wing that delivers the lowest drag coefficient of 0.23. NIO claims that the EC7 SUV has the best aerodynamics of any mass-produced EV. The refreshed ES8 SUV has a 480kW dual motor that powers the car from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds. The ES8 is a bit larger than the EC7 and comes with a wheelbase of 3,070mm. The luxurious interior of the vehicle features a five-zone A/C, PanoCamera panoramic digital cockpit, and 7.1 surround sound.

Another highlight of the 2022 NIO day was the unveiling of the automatic battery swap capacity in its EVs. The latest NIO EVs can plan their route and drive autonomously to the swap station and change the battery without any interference from the driver. The EV can then pull away and navigate into the highway again. NIO has already commenced building these battery swap stations in Europe and it expects to break even in 2024.

The NIO EC7 will enter the market in May 2023 with a starting price of $69,830 for the base model with a 75kWh battery. The refreshed ES8 SUV starts at $75,539 for the base version, but deliveries will start in June 2023.

Xiaomi will start rolling out the stable Android 13-based MIUI 14 update to eligible devices in January. Ahead of it, the brand has started seeding development build of the software to various devices. Recently the Mi 11 and Redmi Note 11T Pro series received the MIUI 14 development version in China and now the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 are getting the same treatment.

The update is rolling out on the Xiaomi Pad 5 with firmware version V14.0.22.12.20.DEV and the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 with V14.0.22.12.21.DEV. The MIUI development version based on Android 13 brings a number of optimizations and improvements. The brand notes that since the underlying architecture of the tablets is quite different from smartphones, they will need to be adapted in order to fully embrace the MIUI 14.

With this pre-release version, users of the above-mentioned devices will be able to test MIUI’s latest version. This update, however, may be laced with various bugs and issues that may disrupt one’s daily usage. Currently, the update is being released in China and only to select enthusiasts who signed up for it.

MIUI 14 is yet to be announced in the global market. Xiaomi hasn’t given any timelines yet but we expect the software to arrive on the international market in early 2023.

To recall, the MIUI 14 features a streamlined design and is touted to be the lightest version of the MIUI to date. It boasts an improved system architecture and photon engine, which is claimed to improve the loading time of third-party apps. The firmware also includes several visual changes as well. The Chinese brand Honor has just announced a new gaming-oriented smartphone under the Honor 80 series. The device in question is called the Honor 80 GT and it comes equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Its design strays far from the rest of the series members and it offers an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Honor 80 GT Specification and Features

The Honor 80 GT debuts with a premium-looking design. It features a large rectangular camera module, aligned vertically. The module is partitioned into two, the upper part houses two cameras and the lower one has another camera and an LED flash.

The device has a capable camera setup. It packs a triple camera unit on the back with a 54MP main camera (Sony IMX800), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. There’s a 16MP selfie camera on the front.

The smartphone comes with IR blaster, NFC, and linear motor, and runs MagicOS 7.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. Fueled by a 4,800mAh battery, the Honor 80 GT supports 66W fast charging.

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to increase its chip production capacity at its largest semiconductor plant, the P3 factory in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, next year, despite forecasts of an economic slowdown. The move stands in contrast to other chipmakers, such as Micron Technology and TSMC, which have scaled back investment amid falling demand and a glut of chips.

According to the Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung will add 12-inch wafer capacity for DRAM memory chips at the P3 factory, as well as additional 4-nanometer chip capacity for foundry contracts, which are chips produced according to clients’ designs. The P3 factory, which is Samsung’s largest chip manufacturing facility, began production of cutting-edge NAND flash memory chips this year and the company plans to add at least 10 extreme ultraviolet machines in the coming year.

Analysts have said that Samsung’s persistence with its investment plans will likely help the company take market share in memory chips and support its share price when demand recovers. In October, Samsung said it was not considering intentionally cutting chip production, defying the broader industry’s tendency to scale back output to meet mid- to long-term demand. “We plan to stand behind our original infrastructure investment plans,” said Han Jin-man, executive vice president of memory business at Samsung.

In contrast, Micron Technology said last week it would adjust down its investments in fiscal 2023 to between $7 billion and $7.5 billion, compared with $12 billion in fiscal 2022, and would also be “significantly reducing capex” plans in fiscal 2024. Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC also cut its 2022 annual investment budget by at least 10% in October and struck a more cautious note than usual on upcoming demand.

The OnePlus 11 launch is just around the corner. With the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, various brands are gearing up to launch its newest flagship smartphones and the company is one such brand. And now, we have an official look at the upcoming device, so let’s have a look.

For those unaware, the Chinese smartphone maker is set to unveil its latest flagship smartphone in China on 4th January 2023. But ahead of the launch, we have an official look at the upcoming OnePlus 11. The smartphone still arrives with a large camera island on the back that flows into the metallic frame. Although this around, the brand is including a raised circular camera module. We can also see that the company plans to launch its latest flagship in at least two color variants.

This includes a Green and Black option with the latter featuring a sandstone like finish. On the big circular camera bump on the rear, we can see three image sensors as well as the Hasselblad branding. Based on what we know so far, the camera module will consist of a 50 megapixel primary sensor, a 48MP ultra wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto shooter. Meanwhile, the front of the device houses a 16 megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood, the device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. A new report has revealed that Apple is apparently dominating the global smartphone revenue segment this year. The company took a massive lead over its competition, so here are all the details.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, the Cupertino based giant has managed to keep the throne and has even managed to raise its revenue share in the global smartphone market despite smartphone sales overall seeing a fall of 3 percent year on year. During this time, there was also a 12 percent decline in shipments, but there was a 10 percent hike in the average selling price (ASP).

In the total sales, 5G phones made up to 46 percent of shipments in quarter, which marks a new high. In the third quarter of this year, Apple took a dominating lead with a 42 percent global smartphone revenue share. Notably, this was up from just 37.1 percent from the same period a year prior. During the period between, July and September 2022, the brand’s iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max saw strong sales.

The iPhone 14 Plus did not begin shipping till the first week of October 2022. While Apple took the lead, South Korea’s Samsung took the second spot with an 18.3 percent revenue share. Xiaomi came in third with an 8.3 percent share, while Oppo and Vivo accounted for 6 percent and 5 percent respectively. So the iPhone 14 series is clearly performing well in the market.
