Recently, a Vivo phone with model number V2238A was approved by the 3C authority. When it was spotted, the rumor mill thought that it could be a Vivo X90 series smartphone. However, DCS has revealed that the V2238A is the upcoming iQOO Neo 7 SE.
iQOO Neo 6 SE
Furthermore, the tipster said that the iQOO Neo 7 SE is scheduled to launch by the end of December. He has also hinted that the device will carry support for 120W charging. In fact, the Neo 7 SE was spotted with a 120W charger in the database of China’s 3C certification.
iQOO is also expected to announce the iQOO 11 series by the end of the year. Last year, the company unveiled the iQOO Neo 6 SE alongside the iQOO Neo 6 in December. Since it has already launched the iQOO Neo 7 in China, there is a possibility that the Neo 7 SE may go official alongside the iQOO 11 lineup.

If you are looking for the best tablets in terms of quality price ratio, you should definitely add the Redmi Pad to the list. This device made its debut just a bunch of weeks ago, but it is already one of the greatest tablets in the affordable segment. But is it really the best you can find in terms of quality price ratio or there are other devices with better value for money? One of the best ways to understand it is comparing it to the other affordable tablets sold in a similar price range. One of the most known ones is definitely the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5 2021, sold in the global market since the end of last year. Here you can find a comparison between the specifications of the Redmi Pad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5 2021.
If you read the other comparisons published on Gizmochina in the last days, you probably know that I do not like the design of the Redmi Pad very much because it has a big camera module. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5 offers a better solution: it has a rear camera placed directly on the back cover, so the look is more minimalistic. However, I appreciate the Redmi Pad because it has an aluminum frame, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has a full plastic design. So it is inferior when it comes to the build quality. Both tablets come with a high screen to body ratio, with the display covering 80 percent of the front panel. Unfortunately, they do not have a fingerprint scanner or other advanced authentication methods, but they just come with physical keys for volume and the power key.
Display
One of the most important advantages of the Redmi Pad is the presence of a bigger display. It is a screen with a diagonal of more than 10.6 inches able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a typical brightness of 400 nits. Besides coming with great color accuracy, it provides a viewing experience smoother than average thanks to the 90 Hz refresh rate. It has an IPS panel, more than sufficient for everyone in terms of image quality. The display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is decent but nothing special. We are talking about a TFT LCD panel with a diagonal of 10.5 inches and a Full HD+ resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. The TFT technology is actually inferior to IPS, so it does not stand a chance against the Redmi Pad. Both tablets feature four stereo speakers, so the audio department is good, and with the Samsung, you even get a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Specs & Software
The most advanced hardware setup belongs to the Redmi Pad. It is powered by the Helio G99 chipset by MediaTek, currently the best 4G mobile platform released by this chipmaker in 2022. It is a processor built with a 6 nm production process sporting an octa-core architecture composed of two Cortex A76 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.2 GHz, six Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G57 MC2 GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of native storage expandable with a micro SD. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 has an inferior Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset with a max frequency of 2 GHz, paired with up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage in the most expensive configuration. The Redmi Pad runs Android 12 out of the box, while the Samsung is still based on Android 11. There is no challenge.
Camera
The rear cameras of the Redmi Pad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 provide more or less the same quality, but the Xiaomi one features a superior front camera with an 8 MP resolution instead of just 5 MP.
Even when it comes to the battery, the Redmi Pad wins again. It has a bigger battery and a longer battery life, as well as a faster charging tech.
Price
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 starts from $230 or €230 (now available at much better street prices), while the Redmi Pad begins at $250 or €250. The Redmi Pad wins this comparison.

Redmi recently announced the new successor to the Redmi Note series lineup, called the Redmi Note 12 series. The phone succeeds the Redmi Note 11 series announced last year, with not three but four new devices. This year, the Redmi Note 12 series lineup comes with a vanilla Redmi Note 12, a more powerful Redmi Note 12 Pro, a premium Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, and along with a special Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. The increase in the number of devices could make things a bit confusing for our readers, so we decided to compare the old Redmi Note 11 series with the new models launched this year. We have already compared the Redmi Note 12 vs Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 12 Pro vs Redmi Note 11 Pro, as well as all the new models in the series.
In today’s article, let’s take a closer look at how the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ compares against the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ model from 2021. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is very similar to the non-Plus sibling except for the humongous 200MP primary camera on board and a superfast 120W charging. When compared to its predecessor, the phone brings a better camera as well as an under display camera.
There are a few more minor differences which we’ll take a look at in this Redmi Note 12 Pro+ vs Redmi Note 11 Pro+ comparison.
The design on both the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ are identical to its non Plus siblings.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ clears up the clutter at the back as compared to its predecessors with just three cameras. So there no additional design elements contributing to the clutter at the rear. In comparison, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ featured a complex array of sensors on its back housed in its rectangular camera module. Similar to how we’ve mentioned for all the new Redmi Note 12 series models, the design on the Pro+ looks a lot more refined and premium this year.
The dimensions of the he Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is similar to its non-Plus sibling. But the major difference here is the thickness. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is significantly thicker than its predecessor, with a 9mm body. It’s also pretty heavy at 208 grams.
Like all the models in the Redmi Note series lineup over the past couple of years, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is also IP53 certified. So you don’t have to worry about dust or water splashes ruining your smartphone. The new Pro+ model comes in Black, Blue White, and a special Trend color edition while the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ came in Mysterious Black, Forest Green, Timeless Purple color options.
Display
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ model features an identical display to its non-Plus sibling. So it comes with a 6.67-inch OLED panel featuring 2400 x 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 900 nits HBM brightness. In comparison, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ model came with a same sized 6.67-inch AMOLED panel featuring 2400 x 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The older model had a brighter display panel at 1200 nits when compared to the new Note 12 Pro+.
Specs & Software
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ features a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor which is clocked at 2.6GHz. To recall, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ had the the Dimensity 920 processor inside clocked at 2.5GHz. Both these processors can support 5G networks and should offer pretty good performance for its price segment.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ also upgrades the memory configuration. This year, it comes in only two variants, an 8GB model with 256GB ROM and a top-end 12GB + 256GB option. In comparison, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ came in multiple options, including a basic 6GB RAM and 128GB of ROM. The older Redmi Note 11 Pro+ maxes out at 8GB RAM in terms of configuration.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ also comes with the latest Android 12 OS out of the box with MIUI 13 on board. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ featured the Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 on top.
Camera
The Redmi Note 12 Pro came with a downgraded 50MP sensor as compared to the 108MP sensor found on its predecessor. But with the Pro+ model, Redmi decided to take things up a notch by using a massive 200MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture. The remaining two cameras are the same as its predecessor, which includes an 8MP f/1.9 ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro shooter.
In comparison, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ model had a 108MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture lens.
On the front, Redmi has not given any upgrades to the new model. So both the phones have the same 16MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Battery
The battery department on the new Pro+ model gets a capacity upgrade. Unlike the 4500mAh capacity one found on the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, the new Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes with a 5000mAh battery. The charging speed remains the same as before, 120W, but its good to see an upgrade in the battery capacity.
Price
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ model is available in the Chinese market with an official starting price tag of around €300 or $300. But retailers like Giztop have already listed the device for around $350. In comparison, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ currently retails for around $320 globally.

Last month, we told you how Redmi Pad is probably the best budget Android tablet on the market. The device had no direct competitor back then.
However, just within a few weeks, the situation has now changed drastically. Lenovo has recently released a new tablet for around the same price with a better feature set.
Officially called the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023, the product is essentially a Redmi Pad killer. Let us explain why we feel this way.
Here’s Why Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 Is a Redmi Pad Killer
The Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 not only has a larger display but also a faster refresh rate. The panel measures 11.5-inch diagonally and can refresh up to 120Hz. For comparison, the Redmi Pad comes with a 10.61-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, the screen on the Lenovo tablet support stylus input. It has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Otherwise, the display has the same WUXGA+ (2000 x 1200 pixels) resolution and 400 nits peak brightness as the one on the Redmi tablet.
2. Multiple First-Party Accessories
Since the Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023’s display support stylus input, users can opt for the new Xiaoxin Stylus Smart Edition. While the Redmi Pad does not offer this functionality.
Further, the Lenovo tablet sports a magnetic pogo pin connector for the official keyboard accessory, which also has a kickstand. No such thing on the Redmi tablet.
Lenovo also sells a first-party screen protector and a flip cover, which Redmi don’t.
3. Better Software
The Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 boots Lenovo’s Android 12L-based ZUI 14 skin designed for tablets. Since the company has been selling tablets with this software for quite a while, it has made several improvements to offer a better experience.
You can check out this software in action in our Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 vs Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro comparison video. On the other hand, a year after its debut, MIUI Pad is still lackluster as you can note in our Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 review video.
Unfortunately, Lenovo tablets use close-to-stock Android outside mainland China. So this point may become invalid if and when Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 releases in global markets under the Lenovo Tab P series.
4. 3.5mm Headphone Jack and More
Most smartphones don’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack anymore. This trend is slowly catching up with budget tablets as well.
Thankfully, Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 features the beloved jack, unlike the Redmi Pad. The former also arrives with a higher 13MP rear camera compared to an 8MP shooter on the latter.
Finally, the Lenovo tablet also offers WiFi 6 and 20W fast charging support as opposed to WiFi 5 and 18W fast charging support on Redmi.

The popularity of GaN chargers continues to sour mainly due to their smaller form factor, large power capacity, and optimum heat control. Motorola has now unveiled the Moto 125W GaN flash charging adapter. The portable charger is priced at 249 yuan (~$34).
The Moto 125W Gallium Nitride charger supports moto exclusive protocol. The peak output of 125W makes the charger capable of charging the Moto X30 Pro from 0-50% in just 7 minutes. The charging adapter comes with support for QC 3.0 and PD 3.0 charging protocol. It is also compatible with QC 5.0 protocol and without fast charging, it can output 20V/3A 60W.

In addition, the Motorola flash charger is certified by China’s 3C certification agency. Thus, you get a variety of safety protection onboard such as overcharge, overheating, and short circuits. The charger takes into account safety and stability when running at peak output.
The Moto 125W GaN Charger comes with a 1-meter USB-C data cable, which is made of double-sided conductive aluminum foil and TPE flame retardant material. The cable supports up to 6A current flow.

China has just recently ordered a seven day long lockdown in a region, which is also where Foxconn Technology has its largest iPhone plant. This would likely affect Apple shipments as its largest suppliers biggest plant is down for a week.
According to a BusinessStandard report, the Chinese government has implemented a lockdown around Foxconn’s main iPhone plant in Zhengzhou. The lockdown is currently in effect and will last until the 9th of November 2022. This news was also published on the local government’s official WeChat account. As of right now, the government has barred all vehicles to operate in the region of the lockdown, except those that are carrying essential goods. The lockdown was implemented in Zhengzhou after the area saw a sizeable jump to 359 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. This was up from just 95 from a just a day prior.
The sudden lockdown is a part of China initiative of Covid Zero approach to controlling each outbreak. Now, Foxconn’s main iPhone plant was unfortunately caught in this zone and has had its operations abruptly halted. The Taiwanese company is the largest supplier in Apple’s supply chain and has had to force some of its 200,000 strong staff into quarantine. Furthermore, some were pushed to flee the site, with some even leaving on foot. Following this lockdown, the company will also face complications to recruit and bring in new staff members.
Foxconn would even be troubled to ship production materials to continue their operations. At the moment, neither Foxconn or Apple has given out any statement regarding this news. Although, the former is working on raising wages and arranging backups from its other Chinese plants to mitigate this sudden operations disruption in its Zhengzhou iPhone assembly line. While Apple has just launched its iPhone 14 lineup, it refrained from bumping orders due to an ongoing economic slump, which has led to a decline in smartphone sales.
